Ive actually been going through Disney+ and i came across a series of movies that were my FAVORITE as a kid

Its the air buddies dog movies. Theyre amazing. im about to watch "Super Buddies"

if you dont have Disney+ or don't wanna watch something like that, I recommend "Treasure Planet" (also a childhood favorite) or The Florida Project.

An evil ghost dog who leads the netherworld, turns living beings to stone with his breath, eats puppy souls, is weak to the sun, and has absolutely no good photos of him on the Internet. (Seriously, it took so much searching to find the one I used for this post).

the airbuddies movies are fucking crazy dude. they made a movie about a dog who plays basketball and went “ok this is great, where do we go from here?” “how about the dog has puppies and the puppies just do shit” like they don’t play basketball or really have anything to do with airbud they’re just dogs who do some shit. they go to space and whatever what the fuck but also it did work

Nah I think I'll just rewatch Super Buddies instead. It's the exact same movie, but live action and about a decade older.

Also not based on a TV show for kindergarteners. (Not that there's anything wrong with paw patrol. It's just a little too far on the "for kids" spectrum to also be for me.)

There is an actual Air Bud cinematic universe.

Under the Air Bud Entertainment name there are 4 Air Bud sequels, 7 Air Buddies spin off movies and 2 prequels to Santa Buddies. Air Bud Entertainment has other series including the Pup Star series and MVP Most Valuable Primate series which have 4 movies each.

It blows my mind there are over 20 movies in the Air Bud cinematic universe. Aaaaaand... They have a streaming series called Pup Academy, which is Harry Potter with dogs. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP.

Warwick the Warlock from Spooky Buddies (2011)

It is times like these that I am so glad I lifted my live-action ban. Everyone, meet Warwick. He’s a warlock from 1937. He wants to achieve world domination. He plans to do this by summoning the Halloween Hound, ruler of the netherworld, which he can only accomplish by literally killing puppies. He can turn people into animals via potions. He has a talking owl sidekick named Hoot. He surfs on his staff like a hoverboard. He is thwarted by having his spellbook swapped out with a bible. He is the first villain to die in the Air Buddies movie canon. I love him.
