7 INCH EP OVERVIEW: "It was 1984 and there was a gigantic famine going on in parts of Africa especially Ethiopia. M.D.C. attacked the problem head on. This was all due to greed by multi-death corporations and corrupt governments. If not for this greed this problem could easily be solved. Musically you would see M.D.C. continue to get faster and more thrash-like. Their lyrics would continue to tackle the cause of these problems and offer solutions. This record first came out in 1984 and went out of print shortly after."

PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on the "Hassibah Get the Martian Brain Squeeze" 14-song 7" EP by Victoria, British Columbia proto-fastcore/hardcore punk band, NEOS, self-released under the band's own label, Alandhiscar Records in 1982. Only 500 copies of the original Canadian pressing were ever made.

7 INCH OVERVIEW: "Little known but classic hardcore record from the Victoria, British Columbia hardcore punk scene of the early '80s. The NEOS had a stated desire to be the fastest band around, and this release documents their success in this quest. The stream of conciousness raving is on the bands label Alandhiscar Records (shortened to AL records on the sleeve) and was released in 1982. The music is fast, manic, weird, beautiful. The lyric sheets (there are 3 of them) include instructions on how to play guitar, explanation of the Martian Brain Squeeze, diatribes, and even the printed music and drum parts to all of their songs."

Hello Y'all! There must be odds that explain being in the right place at the right time. It isn't often that we are so the odds are definitely stacked against us but, those moments when we are present at the exact time and place that benefits us most are truly special. I was on vacation last week and decided to head to Princeton Record Exchange. I met up with @latebloomer201 who explained they were backed up on collections. They were nice enough to let me go through a small stack of Punk 7-inches they recently acquired. All the vinyl was VG+ or better but many of the sleeves have some issues. I am OK with that. The stack was only about 7-inches high but included eight of the Dangerhouse releases, of which I only needed three. More importantly, there was a super clean copy of my number one Hardcore want, The Germs "Lexicon Devil." I had given up on ever finding a copy, making this one of the best record collecting moments ever. The remainder were all want list records; Iggy "I Got A Right" with the picture sleeve, both Controllers 7-inches, Simpletones "I lIke Drugs," Zeros "Wild Weekend," The Undertones UK Sire "Teenage Kicks," The Isleys with Jimi Hendrix, and Wynona Harris "Good Rockin' Tonight."
