ok so i’ve been into the muppets since i was like 3 and loved the muppets (2011) and muppets most wanted and a couple years ago i totally hyperfixated on the muppets and recently have been getting into them again

so i love muppets most wanted specifically and i love constantine

but so i was watching muppets haunted mansion and i was like “woah kermit sounds different?? why does he sound like that?” so i look it up and turns out now he’s being voiced by the guy WHO VOICES CONSTANTINE (matt vogel)

so not only did that spark an in-universe conspiracy theory for me that kermit was replaced by constantine again but like it made me mad like where is steve whitmire?

well i found out he got fired and i was bummed and didn’t really think he needed to be fired but like I WAS FREAKING OUT BECAUSE KERMIT IS NOW CONSTANTINE?????? but then i decided to look at the other muppets that matt vogel voices

i found out he was 80s robot in The Muppets (2011) but then i decided to go to his full page and saw that he voice acted on sesame street

and he now voices the fucking count. what the fuck. why is he the count. why is constantine now count von count

AND THEN IT MADE ME EVEN MORE MAD because before i knew this so i was watching newer sesame street episodes and i was like “hmm that’s weird the count sounds more russian than transylvanian/romanian?? that’s weird” AND THEN TURNS OUT ITS FUCKING CONSTANTINE THATS WHY

FableSMP Characters as Muppets

I have been watching all of FableSMP for the first time for the past month (I'm missing maybe 15 Vods still rn) and my brain was like: "XYZ character is like this-or-that Muppet" and it became a thing so... tadaa! Most of these I have some sort of reason for - occasionally, for some of them, it's also just based on the general vibe. Also obviously, this is just for laughs and fun. Heathers AU 80’s Pop Culture Interests

Veronica: Loves classical literature, John Hughs movies, and Disney movies. Enjoys an occasional fantasy film like The Princess Bride, Willow and Legend (the Tom Cruise movie where Tim Curry plays the devil btw). can usually be found B Dalton Booksellers at the Sherwood Mall pouring through its collection on the weekend. Developed an interest in Transformers from her friendship with Dan.

Martha: Particularly enjoys cute things. A huge movie fan and a bit of film snob, she loves Princess Bride above all else. Likes Jim Henson projects, Disney, My Little Pony, She-Ra, Peanuts, ALF, Garfield, Heathcliff, and sitcoms like Punky Brewster, Saved By The Bell and Mama’s Family.

Dan: Wears his interests proudly. Transformers, ALF and Disney Ducks, specifically DuckTales, are his top interests. Likes sci-fi and fantasy movies like The Last Starfighter, Wizards, Dragonslayer, The Dark Crystal, The Flight of Dragons, They Live, Enemy Mine, and The Transformers: The Movie. Green Heather: A closet Muppets, Indiana Jones and Star Wars fan. Particularly likes the Ewok spin off movies, but desperately tries to hide this from the other Heathers. Absolutely hates romance movies like Can’t Buy Me Love, and chafes when Red Heather forces her to watch them for movie night. Has a thing for musicals like The Phantom of the Opera, Starlight Express and Cats.

Gold Heather: Despite her sweet demeanor and appearance, she LOVES horror and slasher movies like Hellraiser, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Child’s Play, Army of Darkness, Creepers, and Fright Night. The bloodier and more chaotic, the better. Red and Green are too disturbed to really judge or comment and just let Gold enjoy herself. She also dabbles in anime because of Specs, owning a Doraemon keychain he gifted her clipped to her purse. When asked by others, she denies knowing what it is and just found it cute in a crude attempt to protect her reputation.

Specs: HUGE Star Wars fan. Had he survived, he would also be a fan of the Prequels and Sequels, mostly happy there’s more movies to enjoy and analyze, despite agreeing the sequels aren’t that great. Big anime fan, enjoying stuff like Space Adventure Cobra, Demon City Shinjuku, Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Orbit SSX, Doraemon, Saint Seiya, Space Warrior Baldos, Robot Carnival, Giant Gorg, Ronin Warriors and Sherlock Hound, but particularly loves Tatsunoko Productions like the various Time Bokan series and Tekkaman.

Kurt: Enjoys stuff like Conan the Barbarian, TMNT, He-Man, Thundercats, Thundarr the Barbarian, Blackstar and Bravestarr, but hides it initially. He-Man is his jam, and is both his “gay awakening” and the reason he started working out and getting into sports. Once admitted to Dan that Prince Adam/He-Man is his idol and who he strived to be, but failed and instead became an Evil Warrior like Two-Bad (in conjunction with Ram). Likes to collect He-Man toys but is often in a disguise when going to places like KB Toys to find them. Similarly likes collecting He-Man and TMNT comics but tries to hide them In between workout and swimsuit magazines. Also reads the gay model magazine Stud Puppy, but isn’t as good at hiding it… Actually got to model for Stud Puppy in his early twenties as part of a personal milestone.

Ram: A big TMNT fan, especially the movies and video games, but initially hides it. Is actually a pretty big gamer when he’s not playing football, and frequents the arcades to play the games albeit in disguise. An expert BurgerTime, Pole Position, Contra, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong player, and is very fond of Mario and The Legend of Zelda. Isn’t particularly great at sports games like ExciteBike and Track & Field ironically. A casual fan of Star Wars, and unsurprisingly his favorite part of Return of the Jedi is the slave Leia stuff. Enjoys testosterone charged movies like Top Gun, The Running Man, Commando, Bloodsport, Big Trouble in Little China and The Warriors.

Betty: Similar tastes to Veronica and Martha. Seems particularly into Care Bears, ironic given her cruelty later on. Likes sitcoms like Family Ties, The Golden Girls and Nightcourt.

Jamie: Shares Dan, Kurt, Ram and Spec’s interests. Big Dungeons & Dragons kid and loves the cartoon. Big movie guy like Martha. Enjoys stuff like V, Quantum Leap, TerraHawks, Poltergeist, Batteries Not Included and Flight of the Navigator.

Thrash: Shares Ram’s interest in testosterone based movies. Big Arnold Schwarzenegger and Slyvester Stallone fan.

Throttle: Like Veronica, he is a bit of a bibliophile, and enjoys classic literature. Likes Steven King and the Dune series in particular.

I'm A Cyborg But That's Okay

I haven't heard of this one before (I'm woefully bad at keeping up with international releases) but the premise of a young woman institutionalized because she believes she's a cyborg and the only man willing to believe her seems interesting. Content warning for self harm if you decide to sniff this one out but it seems to be worth a sniff indeed!

The Muppets (2011)

if i had to rank it i would give it an 8/10 for a kids film, a 7/10 for a muppets film (extra points for not being as racist as treasure island), and a 12/10 for when i'm really sad or i have a bad cold.

it's just genuinely really funny in a lot of places. multiple songs from this movie ended up on my spotify wrapped playlist because theyre catchy and well performed and because i have a sickness. tex richman is like a conceptually hilarious villain to me, and i loved that uncle deadly got more screentime than usual. the celebrity cameos are rather grating and miss piggy's outfits in particular are a little 2010s-dated (she is always on the cutting edge of style after all). i really hated the transmisogynistic joke about miss piggy's stunt double. walter was a welcome and charming addition to the classic cast, and it's great that he had jim parsons of the big bang theory portraying his gender dysphoria. overall i think the script could have been tighter and MUCH less meta, but there's joke that make me laugh out loud and i'm glad the muppets are still around. side note we should rip the meat off of bob iger's body for what the disney corporation has done to the muppets. there's an atrocious amount of disrespect towards the craft and the heart and artistry of the muppets as a cast, the workshop, and jim henson's legacy that manifests as wasted potential. make a puppet yourself and start having fun. 🏴‍☠️ watch the old variety show; it's good!

this joke about 80s robot makes me smile every time, and i think this clip gives you a good idea of amy adam's chipper cartoon energy (the performance comes off weird because nobody else is matching her, not even the muppets). also keep in mind that every time you see a puppet in a car (there's three here) there is a puppeteer hiding under the seat doing the acting.

pt 2: personally i think they’d send in the fraggles

i was waiting for you to ask.

first they try muppet man. they disguise themselves as martin brenner to try to scare vecna away. but this doesn’t work bc they use gonzo for the face and vecna realizes last-minute that hey… dr brenner’s nose didn’t look like that….

so then they try to dig a hole from a safer part of the upside down to the red sky part of the upside down to catch vecna off guard. maybe they send in beaker for him to psychologically torment/kill as a distraction. but this doesn’t work very well because they’re really loud when they come out of the hole (beaker is ok - muppets can’t die)

maybe when that doesn’t work they call in the fraggles bc they are used to being underground and in weird places. they would try to sing a song about getting along to vecna which might work. either his head would explode or he might actually learn the meaning of family. but let’s just assume it doesn’t work and he banishes them to a shadow realm or something

the big guns is miss piggy. if she can be pulled away from steve for a few seconds i think she could seduce vecna. she could flirt with him while the other muppets climb on top of each other to make a big muppet tower to release max from the big rock he has her tied to. then they could sneak away with her and miss piggy says she will be back looking tres jolie later on. but this might make things worse when she doesn’t come back or he sees kermit and miss piggy embracing. this also may make him seek a personal vendetta against steve which we wouldn’t want.

HOWEVER, let’s say it does work. they’d have to have miss piggy undergo a very intimate wedding with vecna. like in muppets most wanted except that time she didn’t know she was in a ruse. anyway, kermit, fozzie, gonzo, and the gang, including the st team, talk the mind flayer into double crossing vecna. maybe they offer up another sacrifice (it’s beaker again). then, right when vecna and a terrified miss piggy are about to kiss, the mind flayer BURSTS IN with el on his back and hits vecna over the head, stupifying him. now stupid and essentially a muppet, he holds el’s hand as they make they upside down into a rainbow filled wonderland. they use muppet magic to transport back to hawkins and they watch in wander as the town rebuilds itself. miss piggy gives steve a tearful goodbye and the muppets head back to LA while the st gang watches happily and 80s robot, who has grown attached to dustin and stays, plays a tune (im thinking why can’t we be friends by war)
