#A CLASSIC MERI POST
allamericansbitch · 5 months
Note
Hi again Sarah! My Indian films rec list just got super long cos of all the tropes and summaries so I'm making it into a proper post I can tag you in!
While I do that, here are my top five faves from both Bollywood and Kollywood (Tamil films) respectively:
Bollywood:
- Dhoom 2 (2006); I'm actually rewatching this right now and it's a SUPER fun, campy heist movie with a great soundtrack! The whole trilogy of movies are great but this one is my fave and they can all be watched as standalones
- 3 Idiots (2009); a modern classic that most people have heard of if they are casual fans of Bollywood. It takes place in an engineering college and has a super compelling plot I can't give away too much of
- Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008); It's a love story of an arranged marriage between a shy guy and this outgoing girl who kind of hates how quiet and introverted he is. And she thinks he expects her to be a traditional Indian wife so she kind of is sad abt being married. Then she goes to take dance lessons and in an attempt to connect with his wife, he goes to the lessons in disguise as a confident guy and they fall in love!
- A Bonus Rec: If you liked Aamir Khan (the lead actor in 3 Idiots) and Anushka Sharma (the lead actress of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi), they did a really adorable sci-fi movie called PK (2014) about an alien called PK who crashes into India and befriends a human lady. It's just such love letter to humanity and I LOVED Anushka's character back storyline in that movie, it changed my life ahahha
- Teri Meri Kahaani (2012); Heads up this does star Priyanka Chopra but before she became a Hollywood weirdo 😭 and back when she was super talented!! It also stars this really cute actor called Shahid Kapoor. These two play different characters in three different timelines and it explores the concept of soulmates and Hindu reincarnation!! Again CHANGED MY LIFE!
- Ram Leela (2013) or the longer title is Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. It's basically a hotter and older M18 version of Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending if I remember correctly! It starts Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh who fell in love on set (they were friends before that) and started dating just before the movie came out! They are now happily married 🥰
This got so long already hahaha I'll send you another ask with Tamil titles once you're ready for it! But these are all the fun titles I have loved, if you want more tragic ones (I love a good tragedy and having a good cry over movies), do let me know and I'll give you that list!
amazing thank you! i'm about to head to bed but i wanted to respond and let you know i got this, you can send me that list whenever you want no pressure, but these all sound really interesting! so i'll put them on my list of movies to watch!

So i just realised my blog does not have an introduction post.
Namaste, hi, hello, welcome.
Vinamra swagat hai #desiblr ke ek chhote se fragment me (if you're coming across this high chances hai ki you don't know me yet, but i already know you because stalking me mai hu 1 number)
My name is Shiksha (i have murdered people for calling me rickshaw so beware <33) and I am the academically overachieving mentally ruined Sharma Ji Ki eldest daughter. I have very unhealthy coping mechanisms.
I have a very broken sense of humor and i sometimes post very stupid stuff and personally anxiety ne meri le rakhi hai toh i have no idea why anyone would possibly follow my blog but here we are.
I don't generally base my personality on a specific thing (kyunki mai psychopath hu aur meri personality 2-2 din me badalti rehti hai) but something I DO base my personality upon sometimes is Ghazals and melancholic poetry 🤝
I love reading (that's all I do sometimes) and I write poetry. I make jokes (which you may or may not like)
In music I listen to Bollywood (70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s), Indian bands I like are NAALAYAK, When Chai Met Toast, The Local Train (aur baaki i forgot) I ALSO enjoy K-pop (Jeon Jungkook is my ultimate sweetheart), Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey. A LOT OF GHAZALS. CLASSICAL HINDI MUSIC. Baaki log i cannot remember but there are tons of artists i love.
Pronouns : She/Her
What You Can Call Me : Shiksha
Follow karlo cutie pyaar toh mujhse sabko ho jaata hai <333

Aise toh mera naam Rahul hai, par tum jo chaaho wo bula sakti ho <3
The only reason why I'm on any social media app, is because I am a hopeless romantic aur wholesome posts se mere daydreams chalte hai. Just like the guy in my pfp, i wanted a bride but meri pasandida aurat was making her own name.
I'm the human version of ilish maach par zindagi bhar mai ek side dish ban kar reh gaya hu. Kisi ke main course ka hissa banna chaaha, toh wo mujhse allergic nikli.
Khair, wo chhodo. My pronouns are he/him, and I can sing and play guitar. My coping mechanism is baking anything that is strawberry flavored. Ek Hindi classical singer hone ke bawajood, mujhe Taylor Swift bohot acchi lagti hai.
Apne maa baap ka iklauta beta hu, par uska iklauta chaahne wala nahi ban paaya.
Aapki sewa me, since like forever.

/No pressure at all. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, then just ignore this post, but if want to then I'm excited to see what kinds of songs you'll pick. :) /
/Also, I'm a girl of culture, so I can't just go and leave without a bit of rambling.
The song called Should I Stay Or Should I Go is from the game called Far Cry 4, and I gotta say I have a special relationship with that part of the game series and with the series itself.
I first heard Stayin' Alive in BBC Sherlock, one of my favourite TV shows to this day. It's definitely worth a watch.
I know Ain't No Rest For The Wicked from the TV series Lucifer, a show I enjoyed, but couldn't find the time to finish.
Hip To Be Square is a classic, it's mostly known from American Psycho. (I mention this movie in one of my one-shots) Also that movie is still golden and if you haven't seen the clip where the song is played, shame on you; go and watch it! :)
Into The Mind is a song from the video game called The Evil Within, the game that got me into the horror genre and with that into the more complicated backstories.
The World Is Gonna End Tonight is a song from Far Cry 5, the first Far Cry game I ever played and with that it's my favourite from the series to this day./
Once again, thank you for the tagging and sorry for the rambling! :)

Mint Chocolate Murder by Meri Allen
Tumblr media
This post/review is for fan entertainment, I’m not being Paid.
20/5 (Yes this book is that awesome)
Second book of the Ice Cream Shop Mysteries, whooooo!!!!! After reading the blurb on the back of the book I am already loving this book, we get a castle mystery!!
Ok, reading the first paragraph of the first page, we are introduced to two characters, Maud Monaco, a retired model that runs an artist colony at the Moy Mull, in preparation of a new exhibit she wants a fairy tale ice cream party; and Maud’s employee, Prentiss Love.
Ok I love it when cozies mentioned previous books, this book setting is two months after the first one.
We also meet the photographer that the whole event is for, and immediately he was giving me sketchy vibes, that he oozes the artist persona very well, but he is focusing on Willow as his model (Willow is local farm hand/ worker at Udderly) and I like how Riley is picking up on that, however Willow is 18 and so Riley can’t really do too much for her, but has a steady eye on her. Also, Riley has someone to help keep Willow safe as well, Luca who has also been hanging around Willow and is good friends with her.
Adam Blasco is the photographer of honor (the event is for him) and shows that he is upsetting a lot of people. His assistant (she was a budding art student and Adam helped her and now history is repeating itself), another model who is being ghosted by him, Maud’s assistant (for the most part Adam is being difficult to manage).
Now we learn some very interesting information from Vye, Adam’s assistant, and it seems she is on the outs with Adam, when he is focusing on Willow. Granted when we met Adam, I got the idea where a lot of the story was heading, classic artist trope (I hate using this phrase, but I’ve seen it a lot in other forms of media and books) looking for new inspiration and giving the other muse too much of his time, while forgetting the old one. Also, later in the story Vye had dropped some major info about Adam which would give her amply motive of wanting Adam dead. But we can’t discount the other people: Maud, Dee (the other model that he was ignoring), Luca (He was getting very jealous that Adam seem focus on Willow), all the assistants. We are also introduced later that Adam had a lawyer.
The night of the open exhibit Adam is going around taking pictures of people and then he finds Willow and has a photo shoot that was interrupted by Luca (it seems he is mad crushing on Willow). We see some verbal fights between Adam and other people throughout the night. But by next morning Adam is MIA.
After Riley and other people looked in and around the grounds, they are found in the dungeons, dead. We learn through the course of the mystery some very important details about the people that came to work at the exhibition.
We also see Caroline from the first book. I guess you can call her the weekend roommate; we are also having problems with Sprinkles the ex-show cat that belongs to Buzzy from the first book.
Now I like this series because for the romance part of the books, we see the main character get the romance, but this one we have our secondary main character get the romance and it seems that the relationship with Caroline and Jack is good, but Jack is very busy being a police officer, he hasn’t had real time to be with Caroline.
Riley is still having issues with what happen in Rome (it touches on it in this book and last book) I am hoping we see this problem get resolve soon I want Riley to be happy again.
Now when we go to the part where Adam died, I was thinking that when an artist dies their artwork is worth way more than they are alive, so we have another reason of wanting this artist to die, (first one is that he was making a lot people mad).
When I got towards the end of the book, I honestly did not know who did it, each one of these people had reasons to want Adam dead, and new information is dropped which is gearing up for the grand reveal.
OH MY GOD!! The end was like I… I didn’t see the ending coming honestly, I was thinking it was someone completely different because the evidence was stacking up against them, but whoa, I can’t believe that Riely has once again solved a sling of mysteries in a few days.
Once again, the story had many twists and surprises that I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read the third one in the series but I am saving that for Fall/Spooky season since it looks to be around Halloween. I hope this series continues on with many more books because Meri Allen defiantly knows how to keep the reader on their toes.
This book series is one of the best book series I have read this year, I think this has made it to my top 10 cozy mysteries favorites.

The Meaning of A Song- Day 1- Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
I am making a new series where I take a song from the playlist I created when a guy broke my heart. And I explain why this song if relevant to the playlist.
Today's song will be the Bollywood song: Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee! We all know that Rahul and Anjali get there happy ending at the end of the movie. But a lot of things happen before that. Such as Anjali crying out to this classic Bollywood hit.
NGL, this is the classic breakup song.
Tumblr media
Some stats:
This song was written by/sang by:
<I was do italic if this song is one of their top 10 hits and bold if spotify mentions their stream ranking- all info is by spotify>
Jatin-Lalit
Udit Narayan
Alka Yagnik
Manpreet Akhtar
Now for the juicy bits. A part of this song that really speaks to me is:
"Tujhe har khushi de di" or "I gave you all my happiness"
I think that anyone who has a crush on someone will relate to this line. When you love someone a lot, you are willing to make them happy all the time, even sacrificing your own happiness. And when you realize that they don't love you, you feel like you have no happiness.
Another part of the song that I love is the first few lines.
"Raba mere ishq kisi ko aaise na tadapaye" or "God don't let love trouble anyone like this". Anyone who goes through heartbreak will know how utterly painful it is. Although we often see songs talking about how amazing love is, it has a painful side that many know.
See you tomorrow for the next song!
Stream this song on Spotify here:
Stream the playlist here:
I used Spotify and it's stats for this blog post. The translations come from this site: https://www.filmyquotes.com/songs/97.

Please be good to me 2022.
Tumblr media
So I'm still not dead yet. 3 years of pandemic, sickness, death in the family, being plagiarized and a career almost stolen, and I am still kicking. I still love writing, for all that I have increasingly less time to write things for myself rather than things that pay the bills. I'm sure there will be people who won't be happy to hear that 🙂. Well guess what? I am here to give you even more things to be upset over.
Anyhow, 2022. Man...how time flies huh? I'm 33 going 34 now and I've written fanfic (and other professional works 😬) for... 15 years now. Can hardly believe its been that long. But recently some friendly conversations make me look back at what I have written, both the things I write for fun and the things I write to pay bills. Its been a long road, and it will be longer probably.
Anyhow, this year, hoping there's no more nasty surprises like the last 2 years (crossing my fingers), I have plans i want to do. Yes, this is a new year goal post 😅.
1/ get back into writing things I love (I.e. fanfic) on a more regular basis. Hello, the person who told me to 'see you next year' on my fe3h chapter, I understand your frustration but it really hurt you know 😔😑😢. I'm trying. Its like that meme about trying my best yeah? But I'm an adult now and I have people depending on me. Also professional writing is a jealous wife, but she's the one who pays my bills so I need to set my priorities yeah? 😞😐🙂😓
2/ slowly move my published ff from ffnet to ao3. I guess they are on the road to joining geocities and livejournal now. Yes, I'm old 😒😬😡, and I'm a technology dinosaur 🦕 😑. Have you seen many tech whiz classical writers? We tend to spend most of our time lost in our own head, so we are slow with changes. I blink and suddenly I'm behind on technology now. It happens, yeah.
3/ work on the new stories I have got going.
4/ work on and publish that genderfluid cetra cloud (from ff7) story idea i have in my head.
5/ finish the production of the 2 books and 2 games I'm contracted for this year. That's important cause it pays. Money is important! 😔😌😑🤯
6/ find free time to play more games other than fate grand order!
7/ find the time to develop, write, and publish those Alaya Lily Gudako story ideas I have! Also Oberon and a dark epic romantic saga with a bittersweet ending!! 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆. I don't want my fanfic idea notes to just stay in the chay log between me and @erimies forever! I'm sure you would like to see me write those stories too, Meri!
8/ get rich and buy an onsen
9/ spawn a baby!
Hi! If you are still following this sleepy blog of mine from years ago, send me a hello, won't you please?

Ishqbaaz Liveblog, E1: Yeh Lo, Intro Waala Episode Aa Gaya
Nahi nahi, don't be afraid. I'll never leave IPK. I was just craving desi trash with our favorite tropes and classic scenes and @tellywoodtrash has convinced me that IB fits the bill rather spectacularly.
And since it's me - toh iska and things that could have been in IPK ka lamba segment toh hoga. And things that IPK did better.
In short it's this one clip of Omkara and Gauri that's been floating in my head, that's everything Khushi should've said to Arnav convinced me to watch this.
Beware, I'm very bhadda at liveblogging but please enjoy the ride.
Also - this is all for Gauri and TTji.
Love,

Episode 1 - Yeh Lo, Intro Waala Episode Aa Gaya
- Yo Ganpati, namaste.
- Full on K3G vibes with all the bros doing aarti.

- Aaah, Omkara ke baal. Totes need his shampoo.
- WTF, who's making himself a candle and doing live aarti to Ganpati - #ganpatinotimpressed.
- I already wanna kill the editor.
- Dadi/Nani (not sure) is cool. Okay she's Dadi.
- Dadi already giving romantic tips, I stan with Dadi. I love old people recounting prem kahanis. I don't get it, with Nani of IPK and Dadi of IB being so romantic, what happened with their grandsons?
- Aye haye, OG Ishqbaaz is Dadaji. DUDEEEE I'd legit watch a spinoff of badass Dadi and badass Dada in their 60s/70s! (Hate the echo effect, whyyyyy, Dadi is anyways doing mast acting, why do the effect).

- OK I LOVE DADI, SHE IS PRECIOUS AND I WANT A SPINOFF. SHE LOVES HER DEAD HUBBY SO MUCH. I'LL BE LIKE HER WHEN I'M OLD.

Tumblr media
- AND THE GHOORING STARTS.
- I don't like the cgi mandir tho.
- SHIVAAY I WILL FREAKING SLAP YOU. HE BROKE ALL RECORDS. HE DIDN'T OPEN HIS MOUTH AND I WANT TO SLAP HIM? WTF? HE'S IN A MANDIR!
Tumblr media
- GANESH JI, THROW A FLYING COCONUT AND-

Tumblr media
- Not a fan of the editing but what bg and what car breaking! Wah, I love this. DUDE TOTES DESERVES THIS!
- I’m anti violence but THIS IS PAYOFF!
Tumblr media
- Why the wind tho? It’s not a Rabba Ve - I mean Jaana. So why the wind? Please for the love of God don’t play Oh Jaana, it was sweet as intro but they need time-- ok they started playing Oh Jaana.
- Don’t guys.... I loved this face off and the other music. Kyun?
- I will ship them, the show doesn’t need to make it obvious.
- EWW THE CGI OF PHONE BREAKING. I don’t like his aggression - bitwa needs help.
- OM IS HERE!!!! GUYS OM IS HEREEEEEEEEEEEE. CRORES? FOR BEING AN ARTIST? SIGN ME UP!
Tumblr media
- OM IS CHASHMISH? Woah dude, you’re my weird alter ego with better hair. Also, I think you’d put the red lines later? But cool location. I already shipping you with Gauri <3
Tumblr media
- Damn he’s handsome *cough cough* Long hair? Intellectual type? Focused? That’s my kryptonite.
- Dude is melancholic, with Kal Ho Na Ho in the bg. All ok boo? WOAH he’s TEJ’S SON???? No wonder dude’s got issues.
- Oh Dad Issues. Can’t call his dad dad... if my dad was Tej I’d... probs do the same.
- I can’t believe Shivaay is these two jokers ka beta.
- But I completely believe that Omkara is these two f-ck up’s son. Good job on casting and chemistry.
- OOOH, family rivalry. I like this. There’s shit lot to unpack.
Tumblr media
- Poor Dadi.
- LOOOOL, RUDYYYY GONNA GET AN INTRO NOW!!!

Tumblr media
- Hi Cutie! In our sweet line of NK, Joey <3 I feel older protective sis vibes towards this baby.
- Lol, Nani from IPK would get a heart attack seeing his dance on ‘Character Dheela!’
- Bhai bhakt, that’s good.
- Ah the middle generation of Oberois still having rivalry over heir shit.
- BROS PLEASE MAKE AN ENTRY TOGETHER. PROVE YOUR RUDE PARENTS WRONG.
Tumblr media
- I PREDICTED THE FUTURE!
Tumblr media
- I am Dadi right now.
- I’m preemptively getting mad at how they’re gonna ruin a show with a really good premise!
- The boys doing a total advertisement for themselves. Yeh lo, Tinder bios.
Tumblr media
“I know you were trouble when you walked in,” Omkara Oberoi. Daddy Issues. Extremely intellectual. Hot. Has Brains. Even tempered. If Akash was expanded as a character with issues.
Tumblr media
“I JUST MET YOU, THIS IS CRAZY, HERE’S MY NUMBER, CALL ME BABY” Rudy. Bhaiyas took all the brains so here are the brawns. This is NK in another universe.
Tumblr media
“Who the fuck made my Tinder?” *crashes phone* Arnav who prays, with more issues, I didn’t think this was possible.
- The End -
Phew I enjoyed this - see me tomorrow with Episode 2!

Tag Game Rules: post your lock-screen pic, the last pic saved on your phone, and the last song you listened to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I should probably change my lock screen. I put that after I watched Endgame last year haha.
Okay so the song I had to look for it on YouTube because I listen to music in a iPod Classic, I don’t use Spotify or any other app like that, I have my music saved in the iPod. That’s the song I woke up to and it’s been years since I had listened to it haha, it used to be one of my fav from the Jonas Brothers!
And the last pic saved in my phone it’s actually an aesthetic for #SteoBack2School haha so I chose the previous pic which gives you a good spoiler about what the post is about 😂.
Thank you Meri for the tag @impractical-matters
And I tag @sunel0 and anyone else who would like to do it!

EOB Feb 2020 Tour Pedalboards
Tumblr media
Ed at his pedalboard in Chicago on February 8, 2020. Photo by jules.is.tired.
Ed recently finished his album release tour across North America in support of Earth, with a live band consisted of guitarist Ross Chapman, bassist Dishan Abrahams, keyboardist Hinako Omori, and drummer Alvin Ford Jr. Ed picked these musicians to realize Earth in a live context (they didn’t play on the album itself), with a relatively stripped-down setup – at least compared to the expansive studio setup discussed in the last post. The amps are on the small side, and Ed’s using some Fender Acoustasonics, but there’s still a hefty quartet of pedalboards assembled by TheGigRig.com and even some MIDI syncronization. The tour brought Ed the size of venue that he’s rarely played since the 90s, with far more fan interaction than would be possible at a Radiohead show. One result is a wealth of photos that provide endless details of the band’s full setup, so for now we’ll just tackle the pedalboards.

Ed’s signal chain:
TheGigRig.com Three:2:One
RJM Mastermind PBC/10 pedal switcher
BOSS EQ-200
Origin Effects Cali76 Compact Deluxe compressor
Hudson Electronics Sidecar overdrive
Kingsly Page overdrive
Digitech Whammy V pitch shifter
Meris Polymoon delay
Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man 1100-TT delay
Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe delay
Strymon Timeline delay
Catalinbread Epoch Pre preamp
Pedaltrain Classic 2 pedalboard
The RJM Mastermind is a pedal switcher with 10 loops, and the pedals labeled 1 to 10 are connected to the RJM in that order. At the first show of the tour, the RJM had a “TheGigRig.com” sticker over the name, but this sticker was removed by the second show. This is the first time since 2013 that Ed’s pedalboard hasn’t included a TheGigRig.com G2 pedal switcher, which also has 10 effects loops. Even Ed’s pedalboards for the recording of Earth featured a G2. This makes it likely that the RJM has a benefit specific to live performance – perhaps extended MIDI capabilities.
The TheGigRig.com Three:2:One is most likely used to enable quick switching between guitars. Ed only has cables plugged into two of its three inputs, so the third position is most likely used as a mute switch.
These shows were also the first time Ed publicly used his BOSS EQ-200, Catalinbread Epoch Pre, Meris Polymoon, and Hudson Electronics Sidecar. But Ed previously mentioned the EQ-200 in an interview for the book Pedal Crush: “I’m excited about the new BOSS programmable EQ pedals. The EQing of sound in the studio is key. I love the idea of a pedal that can store EQ settings that you can change mid-song... or even mid-note! I like those places in between, and the movement between each setting.” In the same interview, Ed mentioned using his wah pedal to “sculpt the EQ,” so perhaps it’s unsurprising that this is Ed’s first live board to lack a wah pedal in fifteen years!
The Catalinbread Epoch Pre was also mentioned in Pedal Crush, alongside the Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe delay which Ed has used since 2017. “Catalinbread’s Belle Epoch Deluxe is my favorite-sounding delay pedal, but I’m not sure I can use it live, as I need a tap tempo. The Epoch preamp is fantastic too; it sits right at the end of my chain, before the amp, and makes it all sound proper!” It looks like Ed was able to make the Belle Epoch delay work in a live context, even if it is next to three delays with tap tempo.
In Pedal Crush, Ed also outed himself as a fan of Tubescreamer-based pedals. “I’m pretty late to Tubescreamers, but I love them now.” That said, Ed has used quite a few Tubescreamer variants since the early-2000s, and the Hudson Electronics Sidecar is another addition to that list. The Sidecar is essentially a Tubescreamer with a 2-band EQ, which is more versatile than the single tone knob more offten found on Tubescreamers. Ed hasn’t discussed the Meris Polymoon previously, but it’s hardly a surprise to see him using one given the affection he’s had towards cascading delays since the mid-90s.
Ross Chapman’s Pedalboard

Digitech Whammy V pitchshifter*
MWFX Judder**
Diamond Comp Jr
Barber Gain Changer SR
Strymon Sunset overdrive (labeled “6”)
Free The Tone PA-10F programmable 10-band EQ (labeled “5”)
Meris Hedra
Strymon Mobius modulator (labeled “3”)
Strymon Timeline delay (labeled “2”)
Source Audio Ventris reverb (labeled “1”)
Moog EP3 expression pedal
Temple Audio pedalboard
Palmer DMS (Dynamic Mic Switcher)
As with Ed’s pedalboard, the RJM Mastermind is a pedal switcher with 10 loops, and the pedals labeled 1 to 10 are connected to the RJM in that order (even though the labels on the pedals themselves are in reverse order).
*Ross uses some interesting techniques with the Whammy. One is keeping his foot on the Whammy treadle and wiggling it lightly for some subtle pitch variation. Another is turning the pedal’s knob with his foot to glitchily jump between multiple pitches.
**To create dynamic jutters, Ross adjusts the “BPM” knob of this pedal with his foot while holding down the “tap” foot switch.
Dishan Abrahams’s Pedalboard
Tumblr media

Dishan’s signal chain:
TheGigRig.com Three:2:One
TheGigRig.com G2
TC Electronic Polytune 3
Ernie Ball VP 40th Anniversary Edition volume pedal
Mission Engineering expression pedal
Origin Effects Cali76 compressor
Malekko Diabolik fuzz
Source Audio C4 Synth
Empress ZOIA
Future Impact
BOSS OC3 Octave
Hamstead Subspace overdrive
Tech 21 SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver DI
The G2 is a pedal switcher with 10 loops, but the order of the effects in unknown. However, the Polytune is definitely connected to the G2′s Tuner/Aux Out, given that nothing is connected to its output jack. Dishan posted the pedalboard on Instagram on February 3, thanking Dan, Jake, and Joe from TheGigRig.com for their help assembling the board. It looks like the SansAmp might be used primarily for preset tone/EQ options, since nothing is connected to the DI output, but that may just be because this photo is from rehearsals.
Hinako Omori’s Pedalboard
Tumblr media

Hinako’s signal chain:
Board 1:

Palmer DMS (Dynamic Mic Switcher)
Board 2:
Kenton THRU-12 MIDI Thru distributor
Empress Ecosystem delay
Chase Bliss Thermae delay
Pigtronix Infinity looper
Strymon Timeline delay
Earthquaker Devices Avalanche Run delay/reverb
Earthquaker Devices Space Spiral delay
Digitech Whammy V pitchshifter
RJM Effect Gizmo #1
RJM Effect Gizmo #2
RJM Effect Gizmo #3
The three RJM Effect Gizmos are under the pedalboard, but visible from the three sets of audio jacks sticking out from the back of the board.
It’s worth noting that while Ed, Ross, and Dishan are all using pedal switchers, Hinako is using an RJM MIDI controller. Since the MIDI controller can only send MIDI messages, it does not connect directly to pedals and cannot switch them directly. However, the MIDI controller can switch pedals when connected to a RJM Effect Gizmo (a compact switcher box). In fact, since 2017 Thom Yorke has used a similar setup with an RJM Mastermind GT/10 for his solo tour pedalboard. So what is the benefit of using an RJM MIDI controller instead of the RJM pedal switcher? It allows the user to more easily control a variety of destinations with a single button press. Most likely, Hinako uses the MIDI controller to switch synth presets and other settings in addition to switching pedals, making it much faster to change sounds between or during songs. This is likely the case, since Hinako is using a Kenton THRU-12 MIDI Thru distributor with nine of its twelve MIDI outputs in use, meaning that the RJM is controlling at least nine different destinations.
And although drummer Alvin Ford Jr doesn’t use a pedalboard, he does use a Tama Iron Cobra kick pedal.

What did you like the most about Meghna Dubey while creating her?
Thank you so much for asking!!! Meghna is very close to my heart, so I loved this opportunity to gush about her, and to collect my thoughts as to what I want out of her character arc. Thank you!
Meghna Dubey was a character I built for a RP (which, for the uninitiated, is a form of writing where multiple writers collaborate to write a story, each only controlling their characters and influencing the story via the things done by their characters. There are a lot of these on tumblr. Thankfully mine was hosted somewhere else, and the format was much cleaner and now I have lost the focus of this post...) Anyway, let's get back to the matter at hand. Unlike my other RPs, I had this one fully planned, as in I knew where I wanted to take this story. So Meghna's character arc was more or less clear to me, and I built her according to what will happen in the story, and what ideas I wanted to explore with her character.
Let's side track once again and learn more about her story because it will explain my reasoning a bit, as to why I created her the way I did, and such.
THIS was supposed to be a retelling of an ITV classic, rich boy (son of a business tycoon and lives abroad) crossing paths with middle class girl (small town girl with a big heart and a nasty habit to meddle in other people's business), coming together to reunite star crossed lovers and falling hard and fast for each other, ending with the classic rich guy abandoning his girlfriend for the past X years.
Meghna is the ex girlfriend in this story.
You know, the one who is also super rich, lives abroad, comes from a business family (she might be very career-oriented, but that's a cute bonus, not a requirement to fit into the trope). She would be mean spirited and a snob and she will create a ruckus before and after the breakup, and will lose her mind and hire goons and plan murder.
Only, my Meghna is not the vamp of this story. She is a flawed human, who loves too deeply, suffers through the heartbreak and gathers herself together to wish for happy things for all of them.
This is her story.
Now that you know about the plot and where I wanted to take it (as of yet, it has been put on an indefinite hiatus), let me come around and answer your question.
What is my favourite thing about Meghna? Her passion for her work, her dedication to the business, and how, Meghna Dubey of Saroja Jewelleries is a separate entity from the Meghna who had fallen in love with Ankit (the guy, my writing partner's character). Meghna goes through a lot, and it is the family business that helps to keep her head above the water.
Was it really necessary to make her fall so deeply in love with the guy, especially when I knew they wouldn't be together? Yes. I wanted to explore the mindset of a girl who had planned her whole life with a person, and who does NOT turn into a psychopath in her grief, but comes out of it the same, positive person she had been, if only a little jaded and bearing the scars of her first love. She never really fully recovers from that, although she does get her happy ending with her husband (Ajitesh). Her first love remains in a corner of her heart, whereas Ajitesh occupies most of the place. I even made a graphic to explain this mindset, and although this isn't my most favourite thing about her, it ranks pretty high up there. Sharing the graphic just because -

((Meri kahani toh Ankit se hi shuru hota hai aur ussi pe khatam.
Jane kaise, kab, kahan, meri duniya ussise takrayi, aur bas, pyaar hogaya. Mai toh wohi par atki rahi, par woh age bar gaya. Ajitesh bohot acha hai, aur mai bohot khush bhi hoon. Par phir bhi. Dil he ki maanta nehi. Pehle pyaar ki peheli nishaani hoke Ankit mere dil me rah gaya. Waise, mera dil hai bohot bada. Mera bita hua kaal aur mera jeevan sathi, dono ek hi jagah pe khusi-khusi rahte hain. Aap soch rahe honge, ki main kaun hoon? Mera naam kya hain?
Main MEGHNA, aur yeh, meri kahani hai.))

Coming back to the importance of her career, I wanted to give her something, and no, not as a hobby. A full blown career, and I wrote in the conflict with her orthodox aunt as a side plot for her cousin, but let's just focus on Meghna.
The only child of business tycoon Ronit Dubey, and sole Heiress of Saroja Jewelleries, Meghna stood on solid ground. A lot of the hard work was already done for her, though I did emphasise on how she had been very involved in the business from early on, and how she keeps coming up with new designs at random points, because her work is always there in her head. It is a huge, HUGE part of who she is. She is MEGHNA DUBEY, and that never leaves her.
She has a legacy to uphold, a society to fight with.
And when Ankit’s absence leaves her broken and without a sense of self (because she did go all out in her life. Back when they were dating, she had moulded herself into the role of his girlfriend < and future wife > and had it not been for Saroja Jewelleries, we could have lost Meghna to the shadow of a woman whose life revolved around Ankit), this connection, this purpose, is what motivates her. This is what makes her realise that she was much more than Ankit’s Meghna, and she comes up like a phoenix rising from its ashes and becomes her own person. She blooms.
Which is funny, because life was simpler and happier before, but even before Ankit had stepped into her life, she had built her identity around her business, and it is this same habit that made her switch targets and orbit around Ankit.
And now, the Meghna that comes out of all this is a person, an individual, and in my opinion, that's the best thing.
The thing I loved most when creating Meghna Dubey?
Her journey.

Fandom police are asleep, so y’all know what time it is! Time to post OC and Canon relationship headcanons.
With the way, Meri and Papa II present themselves and act. You wouldn’t be remiss to assume the precious, fleeting time they spend with each other is wisely used to plot — planning the downfall of their enemies and the death of humanity. Yet, as the saying goes, appearances are deceiving. Their scheming taking a back-seat to their usual conversation topics; the nuances of 80’s hair metal, classic rock, herpetology and gossip.
Meri is the only person aside from Papa II who can effectively wrangle his more aggressive and venomous snakes — inadvertently proving the church-wide theory that Papa II has effectively pacified them via will and BDE.
Papa II regularly regrets giving Meri a set of keys to his quarters and offices, because he knows it’s her who’s been letting Papa III into wreak havoc and make Papa II’s day all the more annoying. On the flip side, Meri knows Papa II suspects her, catch them out here, exchanging a scowl for a small smug smirk.
