It will be the same weekend as ADCC and held in the same city - August 16-17, 2024 in the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Pertemanan

Minggu lalu menyempatkan diri untuk menghubungi salah seorang teman SD yang kebetulan sedang berkunjung ke rangkas dalam rangka mudik lebaran. Kami bertemu sore hari, yang awalnya hanya berdua, akhirnya jadi berenam, empat teman lainnya datang menyusul.

Kami tidak bertemu setahun sekali. Ini saja sudah 5 tahun sejak pertemuan terakhir kami. Iya, lama sekali. Obrolan kami tiap bertemu selalu seru. Bukan tentang pencapaian pribadi. Tidak ada yang bertanya kamu kerja di mana, sudah menduduki posisi apa, atau punya anak berapa. Aku tidak merasa terintimidasi bersama mereka. Kami selalu seperti bocah SD yang sedang menikmati waktu istirahat di sekolah. Nostalgia kisah-kisah masa lalu tetap jadi topik utama. Bagaimana si A suka mengamuk dan berubah jadi maung. Bagaimana si B jadi ketua kelas abadi selama 5 tahun (hanya sekali posisinya terganti olehku). Bagaimana si C menyukai teman sekelas kami tapi berakhir dengan bertepuk sebelah tangan. Tentang si D yang paling tampan. Tentang si E yang paling cantik dan punya geng seperti tokoh dalam film AADC, dan hal-hal lain yang tentu mengundang tawa. Bersama mereka, aku tidak merasa bertambah tua.

Ini tahun ke-25 kami, dan masuk dalam rekor terbaikku dalam menjaga pertemanan. Selama 25 tahun, nyaris tidak ada yang berubah. Mereka tetap sama, akupun juga. Hanya frekuensi pertemuan saja yang semakin berjarak. Wajar karena kini kami sudah bekerja dan berkeluarga, bertemu teman untuk sekedar minum kopi adalah kemewahan yang hakiki. Harus kukatakan sekali lagi, ini rekor terbaikku dalam menjaga pertemanan. Untuk yang satu ini, seorang INFJ seperti aku, tidak pernah tahan lama.

Aku selalu punya teman dekat di setiap jenjang pendidikan. Selain di jenjang SD, saat SMP pun aku punya lingkaran pertemanan yang solid. Kami sering main bersama di luar jam sekolah, entah untuk sekedar nonton film bersama hasil meminjam VCD di ultradisc, pergi berenang dengan meminjam mobil bak terbuka milik salah seorang teman, atau jalan-jalan di mall dekat sekolah. Masa SMP ku menyenangkan. Sangat. Tapi buatku sendiri, pertemanan itu tidak bertahan lama. Lulus SMP, kami tidak melanjutkan sekolah di tempat yang sama. Frekuensi pertemuan kami lama-lama berkurang, sampai akhirnya hilang. Kami hanya saling tau kabar satu sama lain ketika mulai ada facebook. Pertemanan kami berlanjut di sana, dan kami yang sudah punya lingkaran pertemanan lain merasa itu sudah cukup. Sekarangpun aku lupa, kapan terakhir kali aku bertatap muka dengan mereka, 10 tahun lalu? atau.. lebih dari itu? Entahlah.

Memasuki jenjang SMA, aku punya teman baru. Teman dekat yang baru. Seseorang yang sangat tidak mirip aku. Dia perempuan cerdas yang ceria, supel, cerewet dan pemberani. Ibarat langit, aku mendung kelabu, dia langit cerah dengan semburat pelangi. Sekontras itu perbedaan kami. Satu-satunya yang sama dari kami hanya tentang selera pria. Aku dan dia mengencani pria yang sama, tentu dalam waktu yang berbeda. Meski begitu, nyatanya itulah akhir dari pertemanan yang kupikir akan lebih lama dari biasanya. Kurang dari satu tahun, aku kehilangan dia. Sekalipun setelahnya kami berusaha kembali baik-baik saja. Tapi pertemanan kami tak pernah sama lagi. Hingga hari ini.

Pindah sekolah di kelas 1 semester 2 saat SMA memberiku kesempatan lain dalam hal pertemanan. Memasuki kelas yang baru dengan sebagian besar teman yang asing (ada beberapa teman pernah satu sekolah saat SMP), membuatku cukup kelimpungan. Aku yang tidak pandai berteman ini lebih banyak diam di awal-awal masuk sekolah. Lucunya, takdir lagi-lagi mempertemukan aku dengan orang yang sangat tidak mirip aku. Di kelas yang baru itu, dia orang pertama yang mengajakku berkenalan dan duduk sebangku dengannya, "Duduk di sini aja dulu, teman sebangkuku lagi sakit hari ini." Sejak itu, kami jadi teman baik. Banyak prestasiku semasa SMA yang kucapai bersama dia. Banyak kegiatanku semasa SMA yang juga melibatkan dia. Kami tidak bagai pinang di belah dua, karakter kami benar-benar berseberangan. Iya, seperti langit mendung dan langit cerah dengan semburat pelangi. Tapi sepertinya itulah kekuatan dalam pertemanan kami. Meski akhirnya juga berpisah karena kuliah di kota berbeda, paling tidak setahun sekali kami bertukar kabar entah via sms, telepon, chat whatsapp, atau komentar instagram, sampai saat ini. Dan ini jadi pertemanan kedua paling lama dalam sejarah pertemananku.

Anehnya, meski kurang bisa bergaul, saat SMA aku masuk dalam beberapa lingkaran pertemanan. Aku berteman dekat dengan 4 orang teman perempuan yang satu kelas denganku sejak kelas dua hingga kelas tiga SMA. Aku juga sering diajak main bersama oleh sekelompok anak populer di sekolah. Selain itu, aku sering juga main bersama anak-anak ekskul rohis. Porsi kedekatanku dengan tiga kelompok bermain itu nyaris sama. Sepertinya aku cukup pandai membagi waktu mesti bermain dengan kelompok yang mana dulu. Ini sisi diriku lainnya yang baru kutemukan. Ternyata aku tidak seburuk itu dalam berteman. Sayangnya, pertemanan dengan tiga kelompok itu juga tidak bertahan lama. Lulus SMA, hanya pernah beberapa kali aku menyempatkan diri bertemu mereka. Seiring dengan berkurangnya frekuensi pertemuan, aku makin merasa asing dengan pertemanan kami. Aku sudah bukan bagian dari mereka lagi.

Memasuki dunia perkuliahan, aku kembali sendiri. Tidak ada satupun teman dekat saat SMA yang satu kampus. Lingkaran pertemanan lainnya kembali terbentuk. Dari yang awalnya hanya berdua, lingkaranku jadi makin besar sampai berdelapan. Kami awet sampai sekarang walaupun jarang saling berkabar, biasanya sebatas saling like postingan instagram. Hanya dua dari tujuh teman yang cukup sering bertemu (sering versiku, yah paling tidak dua tahun sekali). Kadang kami masih saling berkabar juga di grup whatsapp. Jangan tanya kapan kami pernah berkumpul lengkap delapan orang sejak lulus kuliah, bahkan ada salah seorang teman yang tidak pernah lagi bertemu sejak kami lulus di 2014 sampai sekarang. Wow sudah sembilan tahun rupanya. Padahal dia teman pertamaku di kampus. Tapi yah begitulah, kesibukan kami yang menjalankan beberapa peran sekaligus saat ini hampir selalu jadi hambatan untuk bisa mengusahakan pertemuan.

Di jenjang S2 dan S3 malah lebih parah. Saat S2, aku paling muda di kelas. Bukannya dapat teman, malah dapat orang tua kedua, hehe. S3 lebih mending sih, ada satu orang yang seumuran. Tapi entah bagaimana, kami juga sulit berteman dekat sampai sekarang. Padahal sama-sama belum lulus juga. Paling tidak, harusnya kami bisa menyempatkan bertemu saat bimbingan, tapi nyatanya tiap bimbingan ke kampus, selalu saja sendiri-sendiri.

Aku tau harusnya tidak begini. Pertemanan itu mesti dirawat, silaturahmi mesti terjaga, bisa memperpanjang usia katanya. Tapi memang hanya ini hal terbaik yang bisa aku lakukan. Aku yang tidak pernah lagi menghubungi mereka bukannya lupa. Bukan pula tidak rindu. Pada akhirnya aku hanya berharap teman-temanku bisa memaklumi caraku menjaga hubungan dengan mereka, dan membantuku tidak kehilangan pertemanan ini.
