You'd be surprised, judging by how many people think my Mara resembles Scarlett, but would you believe me if I told you I've never actually used her as a reference? Don't get me wrong, no complaints here, I love her as BW! The lovely lady I do most often use for reference is actress Bridget Regan; her features have a bit more of that sharpness and mischievousness that my mental Mara has always had. Of course, I do play around with her look when I'm painting, but credit where credit's due!

Thinking of making a Bloodlines series old Hollywood fancast.

James Dean as Adrian Ivashkov, obviously, that's what started me down this path.

I can get some bi!Adrian material out of it too.

I think I've settled on Veronica Lake, specially in I Married a Witch, for Sydney Sage Ivashkov, it's perfect.

I think I heard the story that Veronica's hair was bothering her in the audition by falling on her eyes, but that actually became her signature. Sydney's hair is aways messy no matter how much she tries, but when you get other povs no one thinks it looks bad.

Just imagine Sydney messing up Adrian's precious hair 🥰 Wife privilege!

I have to actually watch the movies, though, or I'll feel like a poser. They've been on my list forever.

arthur’s being a butthead about it as a defense mechanism given that there are many layers of shock, surprise, bewilderment, confusion, betrayal….he has had dyslexia all his life — brain injuries as a baby likely triggered his processing disability and PBA — and no one did a thing about it as he noted aloud. he’s been institutionalized countless times and no one bothered to diagnose him or acknowledge that he has a learning disability. he was also bullied and belittled and ignored into believing that he was something he wasn’t when in reality his intellect is genius-level.

by explaining to arthur that he very likely — she’s not a doctor, but actually is correct and lives with him so she has context regarding his struggles — has a processing disorder and giving him tools to try and help it, nix is helping him more than anyone has likely in any form of media. he’s giving her attitude because clamming up is a learned behavior. there’s so much he needs to unlearn regarding the ableism he’s faced his entire life, but by breaking that barrier i’ll go on a limb and say no one anywhere in any media has helped him more than nix.

he doesn’t realize it yet, clearly it’s not a pretty conversation and it’s mostly confusion and deflection from arthur, but it’s the most genuinely helpful gesture i personally have ever seen regarding him. she’s not qualified to diagnose and aid him  ( and she hasn’t, she just lives with him and witnesses what he goes through and did hours upon hours of research ),  but those who had the ability to do so never cared to. she’s helping by leaps and bounds. arthur will be carrying the overlay that works best for him in second addition so he can use it in everyday life. it is not a cure or a band-aid. just a tool.

he won’t know it’s dyslexia even though that’s the ringer, but because of nix he’ll accept that he has processing disability and has a tool to help improve his overall quality of life even if it wasn’t handed over by the oh so ‘qualified’ who did nothing for it.

ida was so hurt by what mason said at the bakery even if she knew deep down that was what they agreed on being, so when he outright apologises and seems actually guilty she doesn’t know what to do, because she’s so used to being hurt and people not seeming to care

Beth and rio don't meet in the second ep of the season, maybe not for a couple more eps after that even

The episodes aren't going to be available for me to watch before I go to work on Monday mornings and I'm going to have to suffer through an entire day and it'll be extremely unfair 😢

Manny has no idea what mid-season means (I blame this show's complete lack of understanding of time generally)

The 'bombshell' is Marcus-related (but not plane-related), to which we get the first (of several) cut off curse of the season, like rio going WHAT THE FU- then fade to black, roll credits

Beth mentions in passing that she can't get pregnant again thus allaying our fears (and then has a pregnancy scare towards the end of the season because YOU CAN'T TRUST ANYONE, ANYTHING, AND ESPECIALLY NOT THIS SHOW)

hi! I just binge-read 14 chapters of exception and I love it sm. thankfully you will do alternate ending too right? bcs I think I'll be sad if oc is not with taemin at the end:( anw I'm really anticipating the next chapters, hopefully it could come fast but take your time 6v6 💜

Yes, hopefully without spoiling too much there’s the “Ending” (which is how I initially anticipated / planned for the story to go), but with the complexity of the situation in Exception an alternative ending is just as plausible and is definitely going to be posted, too. It will be titled “Alternate ending” but it is entirely up to the reader which ending they prefer to have as their endgame / canon. 

Alongside this, there is a sequel that follows on directly from chapter 17 which is open ended itself (from chapter 17 we go -> Ending / Alternate Ending). And I’m hoping to structure it in a way that readers can go directly from chapter 17 to the sequel and watch (what would go on to be) their ending play out in real time, at a pace that makes a lot more narrative sense than what I feel I’ve had to speed up for either ending and feel a lot more fulfilling as when ( / if) they go back and read the Exception ending(s).
