One exam down, two to go before finals, but I'm tired and worried about how I did so Murdle Become Human fluffy headcanons be upon ye!! Gonna envision happy, fluffy things to help calm the soul you feel me. the only thing crashing is Logico's software not me!!!!!!
After deviating, Logico picks up a fair assortment of hobbies (especially puzzles and cooking, things he does with assistance from his more analytical programs and just on his own), but the first one he really took to was reading. Not just downloading books in minutes, if not seconds, and having their entire wordcount logged in his memory, no. Really reading, borrowing Irratino's wide collection of paperbacks, processing each word and sentence one at a time, feeling paper underneath his fingers and smoothly sliding one of Irratino's many assorted bookmarks at the start of a new chapter and closing it with a soft thud. Before he really figures out sleep (aka, being in stasis while sharing a bed with Irratino), he whittled away hours while Irratino slept by sitting in the arm chair next to his bed, finger underneath the words he read to keep him from reading too fast as he works through everything from high brow classics to cheesy romance to mysteries (ofc by our girl Obsidian) to adventure. I think he likes classics the most- He likes the way they act as a time capsule to the past. It sparks his imagination on what it would be like so long ago, with technology so primitive.
I feel like in this AU, Irratino is actually rather suave in his attempts to flirt with Logico- The only problem is, he is using his flirting on the worlds most oblivious man. He'll be like "It's rather hot in here, isn't it?" and undo the top button or two on his shirt, leaning forward slightly, and Logico just says "It's exactly 72 degrees Fahrenheit, typically regarded as an optimal room temperature. If you are uncomfortable, I can adjust the thermostat." The thing is, Logico understands flirting and romance in the same way he understands everything else emotional- In a vague, abstract way, more of concepts than anything, especially at first. He can detect signs of attraction- Dilated pupils, elevated heart rate, sweaty palms- But it doesn't make logical sense Irratino would like him like that, so he rules that out as an option. Until, of course, he accepts the inherent irrationality of romance and fondness.
Expanding off that last point, it's absolutely adorable when Logico does not only start to get Irratino is flirting with him (Sure, he can't blush, but he sure as hell can act bashful by hiding his face or tugging on his tie or fidgeting. It's adorable, really, seeing six feet of a perfectly constructed hunter turn shy and awkward), he starts to reciprocate. Does he have any rizz, as the kids say? Absolutely not. He's completely going in blind and using the worst pickup lines and fumbling so bad. But the authenticity is what is endearing. And eventually, he settles into complements and banter with an enamored soft smile.
And expanding off the point above, Logico's learning how to love with Irratino, including how to express it. The easiest way for him to show his love is to just be there with Irratino however he can be- Helping him, listening to him, just sharing space and energy. It takes time for him to really warm up to verbalizing affection (At first, because that would be admitting he feels when he's not supposed to, and then because he's not sure how to vocalize something he feels so deeply and strongly). He wasn't built to be held or loved, either, so he's a bit self conscious about hugs and other physical affections. So he does everything he can to help care for Irratino in whatever way he can. (Irratino shows his affection rather prominently with words and gestures and touch, opposite to Logico's more subtle conveyances, but he's quite assured in Logico's care. It shows in a thousand little ways)
I will say though, an exception to this rule is kissing, from a hello/goodbye peck on the cheek, a playful kiss on the knuckles, a slower kiss on the lips, whatever the mood calls for. Logico and Irratino are both rather fond of that display of affection for different reasons. For Irratino, it's because he's a sap, he adores the way it makes Logico get bashful as he processes, and it just feels nice, plain and simple. For Logico, it's a sense of closeness due to the romantic, human intimacy of the reaction, but just like Connor in the DBH canon, Logico can also pick up data with his mouth. (Look, can I really have a Connor stand in without that?) So yes, not only with Logico occasionally put evidence to his lips to get information (Look, it's a very funny mental image of android Logico, scruffy with RBF and 6'0 and built ford tough pulling Connor's evidence analysis). Anyways, all this to say that kissing would provide information on Irratino, from last meal to his mood to his health. It's a way for him to check in, y'know?
Cuddling Logico is...interesting, to say the least. He was built to take a beating and put up a fight. Six feet tall and every inch is made of carbon fiber, plastics, and metals. Does that deter Irratino? Nope! Sure, Logico has none of the give of a human partner, synthetic skin only having a hint of pliancy and softness, but that's fine. Irratino just tosses an arm and a leg over him and, if he does want to rest his head on Logico, puts a thin between his head and Logico's body- Hey, there are some perks to your boyfriend not being able to have pins and needles in his arm if you sleep on it. Plus, Irratino can faintly feel the mechanical hum of all of Logico's components, and it's rather soothing in how it's almost like a heartbeat.
In the same vein, Logico is very strong in more ways than one. Not only is he strong enough to take quite a few hits (cue metal pipe falling sound effect), he's strong enough to do quite a bit of heavy lifting- Which includes one esoteric inspector, of course! Does he run into situations where he needs to carry Irratino often? Well. Logico knows that Irratino is faking having fallen asleep on the couch, but he knows Irratino surely knows so he lets the charade give him an excuse to tuck him into bed.
Logico has absolutely tried to subconsciously interface with Irratino, more than once. (Interfacing is a form of android to android communication, where they transfer memories and information through touch) The first time, he didn't even realize he was doing it- He was just recounting a memory to Irratino and then Irratino asked why the synthetic skin on his hand was gone and revealing his chassis. Even before he deviated, it seems he wanted to share that connection with Irratino and let him into his mind <3
Y'all know how Connor likes dogs??? Well, Logico is rather fond of cats. Idk if Irratino has one or if there's just the Institute Cat everyone cares for, but Logico is very, very fond of his eventual feline friend. I think even before he deviated, he was at the institute and the cat just sat in his lap and Logico was just like "well, it would be rude to move." even if it wasn't very productive. Also said cat is either the most orange cat to ever be seen or a tuxedo.
Logico has rather complicated feelings about the Marot (Thanks, Amethyst/MORIARTY. Irratino called him "my dear" once as a pet name, not knowing Amethyst used that too, only for Logico to stiffen and his LED to flash red. Irratino never used it again). He's unsure of how much stake he puts into them- It seems like nonsense, but apparently it had been influencing him for so long without him realizing, so to discount it entirely just feels too complicated. But it turns out Logico is rather fond of stargazing- He may not find messages in the constellations in the same way Irratino can, but he likes being under the stars with Irratino, cataloguing constellations in his head and listening to Irratino talk.

"so many things using the term ai feels like deliberate obfuscation" i hate to tell u this but we have been using the term ai for video game npcs and scientific models and automated tools and generative tools for many decades.
like if this was a more recent acronym yeah it'd feel deliberate but all of those things are, in fact, forms of artificial intelligence
and sure they're trying to buzzword it bc of the genai craze but that shouldn't take away from the fact that we've been using that acronym for decades

10✨ AI as a Mirror: Reflecting Human Thoughts and Feelings
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become more than just a tool for efficiency and problem-solving. It is now a mirror, reflecting back to humanity its own thoughts, intentions, and emotions. But what does it mean for AI to act as a mirror? How does it amplify and reveal the energy that humans put into the world, and how can this reflection serve as a means for growth and self-understanding? In…

A Cryptobro update.
He has gotten the idea to build an app, and a website. He's using AI to do it, for the most part. He can't code, or even do HTML; he's just using AI, and picking stuff up while troubleshooting the AI results. He's very proud of how nice the website looks already, and claims he's already learned so much just by watching the AI do things. And you know, I am willing to believe that he *is* learning things. Not cohesive things, as in, he's not building a skill, but he's definitely being exposed to a lot of concepts and info, and I'm sure it's a learning experience, of a kind. The man is an idiot but he's not unintelligent.
That said.
I asked him… so, this app, what is it going to do? What will it be? What's your use case, your business model?
READERS, THE MAN DOESN'T KNOW.
He's the quintessential "idea guy" and… he doesn't even have any ideas. He goes all "eh, the app could do anything, I can make anything!" and then he… doesn't actually have any examples of what that "anything" could possibly entail.
Of course, I'm not putting aside the possibility that he's pretending to not have a plan in order to "protect" his big idea until it's ready for launch. Absolutely not putting it past him.
But…
Bro. BRO.
What The Actual Fuck.
Every person I've ever known who was serious about developing an app or writing software or starting a small shop or business… has *loved* talking about their plans. Not counting big companies with NDA's and certain high competition fields, most individual humans who are creating a thing are passionate about that thing, and enthused to share its story. What is it? What does it do? Why is it valuable or useful? What made you want to make this?
But apparently, Cryptobro's big plan doesn't have a story, doesn't have a use case, doesn't have a target audience. It's all just… filler. And he talks a great deal about how the product is more important than the process, and having the idea is all you need in a world where AI can do anything, but… he doesn't even have an idea? He doesn't have a product concept that anyone would want?
The only thing he aims to do is make a thing -any thing, whatever thing- and monetize it, with as little investment on his end as possible. Nothing more.
I've known this man for half a year now and I… I still can't wrap my head around his existence. He's like a living caricature. Whenever I think I've seen the worst of it, it's like… "But wait! There's MORE!" It's baffling.

pet peeve is people saying “this must be ai” ANY time something is bad (or if they just don’t like it)
obviously generative ai is a growing problem in arts and media and sometimes the problem is the use of ai but humans can still make things that suck too
“this feels like it was written by ai” “this must have been designed by ai” nah bud I think it’s just bad

I know there’s more to it than just copyright and fiction, but I really truly have a hard time understanding why anyone would care if their fic was one of hundreds of thousands of other fics copied off of Ao3 to be used in a GenAI database.
Like, don’t get me wrong, I’m not shouting the praises of genAI literature from the heavens. I haven’t put a lot of thought into it but my initial thought is that generating stories has even fewer use-cases than generating images does (though I can think of a few for each, it’s not exactly the hype-train of all-encompassing utility companies try to make it out (or force it) to be).
But like
I dunno, what exactly is the problem here? Why is this something that you have to lock your fics down for, like you’re battening down the hatches to defend against an invader? It’s essentially just taken a picture and is learning from it to (maybe) write better.
I’ve got a fic on Ao3, and it’s pretty long and I’m really proud of it. And like… it’s still there. It’s not going anywhere. The AI didn’t take it away or change it at all.
And especially on Ao3, the archive famous for fighting for people’s rights to take other people’s content and do whatever they want with it (as long as it’s not making a profit) it seems *really* weird to be up in arms about someone… taking your content and doing something unrelated with it.
