— There are Four ways to travel to the city:

╰Number One: Land— Although it isn’t the fastest and safest way to travel to the city, it gets the job done.

╰Number Two: Boat— This is the second best way to getting to the city in one piece(Luffy? That u?). Because of the harbor this is the popular and cheaper option to travel.

╰Number Tree: By Air— Wait, what? There is a way to get to the city by air? Since when??? Well ladies and gentlemen, I present to you…my version of a Hot Air Balloon!🎉 Now you all must be wondering, how in Teyvat do you have a Hot Air Balloon? Simple solution, really. The Jade Chamber.

Yuri: Be warned, the explanation is a little long but worth it if you stick with it. If you don’t want to read it and accept the reality of this madness, read the next bullet. Just know, something won’t make sense.

— Now, you need to know three things: Plaustrite, Adepti Sigils, and Wonder Core.

╰ The Jade Chamber uses something called Sunset Vermillion to levitate in the air; in reality, Sunset Vermillion is just a bigger chunk of material called Plaustrite. Plaustrite is an elemental mineral known for its anti-gravity properties. Objects built with this material float, like Xiao lanterns.

╰ In the Jade Chamber there is a control compartment, its use is to allow aerial movement of the Chamber. To build a control for a flying object you’ll need Adepti sigils and Wonder Core.

Yuri: “So, the Hot Air Balloon uses all of these?” No! I’m making my life difficult by World building and lore 😃

╰The Hot Air Balloon uses Pure Plaustrite, meaning that there is little to nothing of any other component except the Anti-gravity one. And because Adepti sigils are a Liyue only thing, I decided to come up with Anralyte! Which is basically a talisman done by a mage from the smallest elite academy in the city. Now if you combine Anralyte and celestial technology, you get an Airship!

???: Wow. All of that, just for an Airship….

╰Number Four: The Traveler— and of course. You have the Traveler. With powers greater than their own body can handle. They have a waypoint unlocked…! .…What a pain in the arse.🙃

— The architecture of the city was inspired by German and French architecture. I also took inspiration from Greek architecture.

— The city is located on a mountainous region that borders the ocean, although the majority of the city is on one mountain.

— At the mountain top is where the middle and core sections lay.

— There is a river that runs from the top of the mountain all the way down and merges with the ocean. Expect bridges all around the city. The water that runs down the mountain is clean, so it is safe for consumption. Because of the purity of the water many citizens usually don’t bathe or eat the animals of the river, deeming it as holy.

╰Some even say that this river water comes directly from Celestia.

╰There is also another river on the left hand of the city. It also connects with the ocean, it’s not to be confused as the holy river.

—The citizens are generally very friendly and open to foreigners visiting.

— The law enforcers are called “Up-holders”. You can see them all around the city, even on farm land. They take their jobs seriously and are not to be messed with. But, they are very helpful for any situation.

╰To be an Up-holder you have to first become a knight and then graduate from the ‘Tridalia Academy’.

—The Tridalia Academy was founded by Vimlar Tridalia, who hails from the same race as Klee and Alice; a race blessed by longevity. He is a high, if not the highest, in the Up-holder ranks. The Tridalia Academy is primarily focused on training young knights to become the law enforcers they need to be. This means intensive battle training, and law classes.

╰Because of the high requirements to become an enforcer, citizens respect Up-holders. Very often you’ll see these young soldiers get free food and get complimented throughout the city.

╰Fun fact: Vimlar has been serving under her Grace for over five hundred years. So your best shot at finding him would be in the Core section…. And you didn’t hear this from me.…but, I heard he likes to take naps on rooftops near rivers, so keep your eyes alert! Who knows, maybe you’ll have to catch the general before he falls into the water!

—The Up-holders have smaller versions of Airships for faster travel.

— Throughout the city are scattered shrines and churches dedicated to each of the seven Archons and “her Grace”.

╰Because she isn't one of the seven, nor did she fought in the Archon war, the statues of her Grace were carefully thought out and are few in numbers.

— The outer section is located at the bottom of the mountain along with the city’s harbor.

╰Majority of the trade of the city is done in this section. Meanwhile major negotiations that involve the well-being of the citizens are done in the middle section.

╰The river that I mentioned is on the left hand of the city, is where most boats go and dock.

— The city’s biggest export is Pure Plaustrite.

╰Fun fact: Because of Pure Plaustrite you’ll often find floating islands in the region.

Lore:

— During the Archon war, The Divine City was the only safe sanctuary in Teyvat, as it was under the protection of Celestia. If anyone dared to invade the city, Celestia themselves would come down and destroy the enemy and all of its people.

— Note this down…. Her Grace descended to Teyvat roughly a thousand years before the Cataclysm(The Fall of Khaenri'ah).

Before director Ernst Lubitsch left Germany to ply his famous ‘Touch’ in Hollywood, he made a series of comedies that gave hints at what was to come. The Wildcat is his last German comedy and his most riotously zany. Subtitled ‘A Grotesque in Four Acts,’ Wildcat makes use of extravagant set design and eccentric frame shapes that lend a surrealistic edge to its antic energy. Pola Negri’s Rischka leads a gang of mountain bandits who ambush Lieutenant Alexis (Paul Heidemann) on his way to the local fortress, leaving him pant-less (and smitten) on the ice. Film writer John Gillett called the film “both an anti-militarist satire and a wonderful fairy tale.”

Clarence Brown's rousing film displays a perfect blend of elements—romance, swashbuckling, a modicum of humor, and the great Rudolph Valentino! Not to mention the splendid production design by William Cameron Menzies and gorgeous camerawork by George Barnes. After Valentino's Russian lieutenant rejects the amorous attentions of Catherine the Great (Louise Dresser), she orders him arrested. Instead, he flees and becomes a masked avenger intent on righting the wrongs visited upon his father and his countrymen by loutish nobleman Kryilla Trouekouroff (James A. Marcus). But the nobleman has a beautiful daughter (Vilma Banky)...

Luminous Anna May Wong goes from a fan-dancing carnival act to an artist garret and finally to the French Riviera where she accompanies a wealthy art patron around Monte Carlo, draped in haute couture. Wong left Hollywood in search of roles more fitting her talents than the racially-circumscribed ones at home. This Weimar title showcases her magnetism—when Wong is onscreen, you can't look away.

Harold Lloyd's bumpkin salesclerk comes up with a publicity stunt that will bring attention to his department store and earn him the money to marry his sweetheart—scale the 12-story building like a human fly! Shot in downtown Los Angeles, the stunt has given us one of the most iconic images of the silent era—Lloyd precariously hanging over the city street, dangling from a broken clock. James Agee wrote: "Each new floor is like a new stanza in a poem; and the higher and more horrifying it gets, the funnier it gets."

Listen, don't even ask me what I am because I don't even know either. Jangmi ended up putting some fake blood over my face and shirt and said that I can be a serial killer... how does that even- you know what? I don't want to know. I recently went back to blonde, what do you think? Do I fit the role? Would you scream for me?~

I asked Hyunrin what she wanted to be for Halloween and she said Pennywise... should I be concerned? It's the way she embodies the character far too well that I'm afraid she might actually scare people especially when she keeps telling them she can read their minds. Children, they get to an age where they constantly surprise you... Well, off to go trick or treating now~ Would you like to come?

"Uncle Channie, Uncle Channie!!" The girl runs to the door as soon as the sound of Chris' car pulls into the driveway, the wolf in the driver's seat not getting out while the other basically runs to the door when it opens, hugging the small girl who is half ready. "Uncle Channie, look! I'm going to be Pennywise!" She smiles proudly.

Channie's eyes widen as he looks at her mother, walking out from the living room, holding the balloons in her hand. "Pennywise?" He asks while Alice simply shurgs.

"Some of the girls from school had seen photos and decided that they wanted to all dress up as some kind of killer clowns." She can sense his mind going a hundred miles per second, worried that it was something he may have let her watch while she's been at their place. "Don't worry, puppy, liking scary things seems to be all the craze with kids these days."

Concerning, yes, but at least Rinnie would now make friends with the monsters in her closet rather than needing to be sleeping with her most nights.

"Oh!" The wolf realises, grabbing the bag he had brought inside and runs to the bathroom to change. "I won't be a second!" He calls out while Alice ushers the girl back to the living room so they can continue getting ready.

Channie had given special instructions on where to go, heading around different areas and finding places that were doing trick or treats. This year, people had decorations up and signs that said trick or treaters were welcome while others left their homes undecorated to not tempt people. Channie had Alice and Rinnie visit Chan and Chris' places because he wanted to show off his costume as well as basically make them give him candy.

"Ahhh! Look at Chan's place!" He calls out, him and Rinnie about halfway through their current bowls of candy already, bouncing and sprinting away from Alice as she laughs softly.

"Hey! Don't you let go of those balloons!" She calls out as they are basically bouncing through the air, pulled by the small girl who is rather quick on her feet.

Knocking on the door, the two have basically mastered their synchronisation as the blonde wolf opens the door, "trick or treat!" They sing while Chan chuckles, grabbing the bowl of candy that he has by the door.

"Here you go," he says to Rinnie, placing a handful into her bowl while the wolf standing next to her is practically vibrating with excitement, his smile wide. "How much candy have you had to eat?" Chan asks, an eyebrow raised as he places some into the other's bowl.

"Not enough!" Channie says, Rinnie piping in and agreeing with him while Alice clicks her tongue and rolls her eyes. "We still have a time to get more candy." Oh, he's basically encouraging this kid to ride the sugar high before she crashes tonight.

Chan reaches forward, grabbing the strings of the balloon and asks the girl to hold out her wrist. "Don't want to lose these, do you?" He says, tying the balloons to the bracelet she wears before patting her on the head. "Now, take care of Channie, hm?"

"Yes, Uncle Chan!" She smiles, giving him a hug and kiss on the cheek before they race off again, stopping for a moment to look at his decorations while Alice thanks Chan once more and hurries them along so they can head to the next house.

"Trick or treat!" Rinnie sings, holding out her little basket as Chris looks down at her, eyebrow raised before looking at the other two. As Chris grabs the small bowl of candy that he had specifically for Rinnie, the girl's brow furrows as she realises someone is missing. "Uncle Chris, where is Aunty Irene?"

"Work," he says, pouring the whole bowl into her basket, ignoring the soft whine coming from Channie.

Rinnie nods, as if she can understand the situation before she beams at Chris. A child's attention span short enough to not pay attention to the worries of an adult. "Thank you, Uncle Chris!" She says, opening up her arms to see whether he will accept a hug from her.

No, but she can get a pat on the head. "Have fun kiddo. Don't let Channie eat the candy I gave you, yeah?" She beams and hugs her basket, nodding her head before he sends her off on her way with a pouting Channie in tow.

Alice hangs back, turning to Chris before he heads inside. "You could always go and get her." The woman says with a knowing smile, "I'm sure she would rather be with you than at the club anyway." He hums, the only acknowledgment that he heard her before stepping inside and closing the door.

Back off on a candy hunt.

It's nearly reaching midnight when Jongin knocks on the door, quietly as to not disturb the sleeping child. "He's on the couch," Alice says, letting the wolf in, closing the door behind him as Jongin quietly reaches the living room and finds his boyfriend passed out on the couch, a bucket filled with candy wrappers next to him. "They were full of energy until they weren't." She chuckles while Jongin smiles, giving Channie a little shake.

"Hey puppy," he speaks softly, a soft groan escaping Channie's slightly blue lips from some hard candy he had been sucking on. "Did you still want to go to the haunted house?"

It's as if those words had magical powers.

"Wolfman!" He's up, full of energy, with his hair slightly messy. Channie is practically pulling Jongin in for a hug while the older chuckles softly at how quickly he had woken up. There were soft snores coming from him, little whines and with one question - all his sleep had evaporated, replaced by excitement. "I can't wait to go to the haunted house!" He starts to say loudly before remembering where he is and slowly lowering his voice as he beams. "Is it still open?"

"Of course, pup, I wouldn't have let us miss it," Jongin says, his tone almost offended that Channie would think that he'd not make it in time. Looking at his phone, Jongin furrows his brow. "We gotta hurry though, we don't want to wait in line for too long."

It doesn't take long for Channie to ready again, tidying himself up before he says his goodbyes to Alice, two big hugs because she has to pass one on to Rinne, and they are heading out to Jongin's car. "I tried to save you some candy..." Channie starts, hand digging into the bucket, slowing his walk down as he does and finding only one measly chocolate bar. He looks at Jongin with big eyes, that puppy dog look that the younger uses to get his way. "I'm sorry, Nini..."

Oh, Jongin knows those eyes very well. He knows exactly what game Channie is playing.

"It's okay puppy, you can have it." Jongin 'falls' into his trap, letting the younger gleefully open the wrapper and devour the final treat in his pumpkin themed bucket. "I'll have my candy later~."

It takes a moment. They are climbing into the car, Jongin having started the engine and waited for Channie to bulk up and it takes him a moment to catch onto the other's meaning before his eyes widen and cheeks turn a soft pink. Playfully hitting Jongin's arm, Channie squeals, "I'm not candy!!"

"You are to me, puppy~ sweet and delicious."

"Ahhhh," he screams, causing Jongin to laugh, "stop!!! You can't keep saying that!!"

The night is perfect. The haunted house is full of screams because even though they can hear people coming, it doens't stop Channie from jumping and screaming, holding onto Jongin for dear life. Not saying Jongin isn't scared but he's getting more frights from Channie screaming than he is from the actors of the attraction.

Haunted houses can be full of screams as well as betrayal and Jongin learns that the hard way when a ghost pops out, scaring Channie so badly that he shoves Jongin towards the actor and runs off in the opposite direction screaming. Scoffing, Jongin chases after him, calling out his name to try and find him while also planning his revenge.

Oh, he's going to get Channie good.

They go to a light show in a forest nearby, neon lights set up like exhibits and bump into Johnny and the woman he's been spending his time with. The couples only briefly acknowledge each other, nodding their heads before walking off in opposite directions. Channie loves the firefly display, the lights on strings softly bouncing in a meadow with soft insect noises playing around them. "It's like the forest is alive!" He says, eyes shining so bright that Jongin doesn't know if it's from how happy he is or the lights above them.

Maybe its both.

As the night comes to a close, Jongin leads Channie to what looks like an abandoned house near the river. The windows are all broken and it's clear that kids use it as a place to hide when not going to school.

This is where his sneaky texts throughout the light show will come to fruition. He had told Channie that he was texting Jangmi, checking in and making sure she was doing okay since he didn't know where she was after she left the club but really, he was plotting. Planning. Scheming.

The two enter the house, the faint noises of party goers sounding like its in the far off distance and Jongin uses the flashlight on his phone to help them make their way through the house. "Did you know," he starts, his voice quiet, eerie, like someone could be listening, "there was a lady who lived in this house with her husband." He hears the gasp coming from Channie, smirking because he knows the younger is wanting to hear more. "One day, she was cooking dinner for her husband when he suddenly killed her. He says he didn't. When they caught him the next day, he swears that he never did it but nobody else could have done it. They lived alone, they had no neighbours, how could anyone else have broken into the house and done it?"

"Oh my God," Channie hears something from upstairs and freezes.

"Sshh," Jongin says, hoping that the twins had kept themselves hidden enough that Channie doesn't figure it out. "They say that her spirit still haunts this house and she doesn't like when people enter her home without permission."

"Nini..." Jongin hums, "we didn't ask permission, did we?"

"Nope." A loud shriek sounds in the room directly above their heads and there's a loud bang on the floor.

Faster than anyone knew Channie could move, he's gone, screaming out the door while Jongin laughs, chasing after him while pulling his phone out to send a quick text to the witches upstairs. 'Thanks for that! That scream was so much louder than the haunted house.' Should he feel bad for scaring his boyfriend, maybe, but Channie threw him into a ghost to save himself so this is deserved, he reckons.

Finding Channie outside, doubled over, catching his breath, Jongin wraps his arms over his shoulder and smiles at his boyfriend, knowing he's going to be pissed when he finds out he had planned all of this... but that's tomorrow's issue. "Happy Halloween, puppy." He says with a chuckle and a kiss to the curly-haired wolf's head.

BIOGRAPHY

Childhood: The youngest of two, Maggie grew up in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York. Her father, Lou, was the partner of a small size law firm and was the sole provider of the household while Carol was a homemaker. Money wasn't an issue and the Wilson's lived comfortably. Maggie was quiet and awkward unlike her older and far more outgoing sister, Sharon, who was her parents favorite. Despite this, the two were and remained close. Mags started playing the violin at age eight wanted to pursue a career in music though was actively discouraged by her parents.

Adolescence: Maggie met Tommy Emory her freshman year of high school and started dating. He played football while Maggie received straight A's. They had little in common but both were loyal thinking they would be together forever.

Adulthood: Attends college with her boyfriend where they awkwardly lost their virginity to each other. Maggie was miserable and stopped playing her violin for a period and virtually had no friends of her own. After graduating from college in 1962, she took a job at a pediatrician's office. Maggie and Tommy became in engaged the same year though a date was never set. Becoming disillusioned with life, her relationship, and the war brewing in Vietnam, she volunteered as a nurse in 1966. Her parents and fiancé were furious and Tommy ended their engagement immediately. Sharon was supportive though understandably worried about her sister.

She met Rachel Mariano during training and were both assigned to work at the base in Củ Chi in 1967 as lieutenant nurses. She retained a glimmer of hope and most the company was grateful for this outlook, especially considering how bleak reality was. This is where she met Sgt. Elias Grodin where the two became fast friends. However, she also met Sgt. Bob Barnes who had become hardened and brutal and made it his personal goal to break the woman. He went as far as cornering the nurse outside of the barracks and assaulting her. Maggie tried to fight back and got punched in the nose and threatened to do worse if any superiors were notified. When In late 1968, Wilson and Mariano were sent with a sizeable camp of soldiers. During this time, she and Elias became secretly involved with only Mariano and the sergeant's squad aware of their affair though there were suspicions by others.

They became physically involved during R&R in Honolulu. Barnes' attempted to murder Elias shortly after returning who was sent back to base after being stabilized and honorably discharged and awarded a Purple Heart in early 1969..

After being attacked by an NVA ambush in the night, Rachel was killed in a resulting fire while Maggie was trapped by a metal bunk and was badly injured. She was discharged in January 1970 before being sent home.

She lived with Lou and Carol and attempted to reconnect with her parents though they kept her at arms length. She began writing letters to Elias documenting life but was never able to send them out of fear of rejection or possibly learning he may had succumbed to his wounds. Sharon lived in Brooklyn with her husband and two daughters and convinced her little sister to move into the same neighborhood. Sharon and Jimmy even got Maggie an orange kitten they found outside their apartment.

Adjusting to life after the war takes a toll on the nurse though she gets a job as an elementary school nurse and reluctantly befriending a few teachers. Maggie babysits her nieces in her spare time and has a couple relationships though is tentative about anything too serious.

Sharon and Jimmy play matchmakers and set Maggie and Elias (who works with the latter) up on a blind date in 1973. They take things slow though become serious when Elias suddenly a year later he leaves Maggie with a note and returns home to Wisconsin for a business opportunity with King.

Maggie falls into a deep depression, not understanding how his decision to leave was supposed to make her life better. After calling King, the nurse surprises Elias and the two reunite a second time, more emotional than the first. She eventually moves from New York and they purchase a home together. He, King, and an excitable and bored Taylor open a shop together outside of Milwaukee while Maggie finds work at a local school.

The couple remains together and finds comfort in each other. They enjoy smoking marijuana, listening to records, and going to the movies together.

As an adult, she plays the violin more regularly and finds peace in music.

Late in Life: She and Elias marry in the late 70s and unexpectedly become parents in 1980 to their daughter, named after Maggie's deceased friend Rachel. Mags is an elementary school nurse in Muskego, WI until she retires. The two have a quiet life and rescue another cat and dog when Maddy and Major inevitably pass away. Rachel marries King and Ana's son, Jamie, shortly after college. The two travel and keep a quiet life together after retiring.

It's obvious that André Leon Talley completed his memoir, The Chiffon Trenches, without a ghostwriter and with minimal interference from an editor. Its language and storytelling are recognizably his: brash, lush, theatrical, hilarious, and occasionally hubristic. The book describes his childhood in North Carolina with a loving grandmother, college and graduate studies in French language and literature, stints at Interview and WWD, and finally his role as Anna Wintour's lieutenant, confidante and advisor at Vogue.

The middle chapters, which cover his years as a reporter, are grand entertainment. Talley was was flying first class to Europe each season for shows, staying at the Ritz in Paris, and hobnobbing with Andy Warhol, Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfield, Oscar dela Renta, Lee Radziwill and Paloma Picasso. Spanning the 80's and 90's, they capture a time when fashion was imaginatively conceived and exquisitely crafted, when Paris was the center of modern culture, and when the best way to learn what was presented on the runway was to subscribe to Vogue.

The magazine's authority crumbled in the naughts, as logocentrism, celebrity culture, and social media rose. Talley's role at the magazine became marginal and then, just before the 2019 Met Gala, when he was not asked to return as red carpet interviewer, became untenable. Talley doesn't explicitly blame race (he is black), sizism (his weight had ballooned to over 300 points), or ageism (he was nearly 70 years old) for the dismissal. Instead he understands it as a Wintour's moral failing. He recalls warmly how they traveled together, celebrated birthdays, exchanged gifts, and supported one another through personal trials. He honors their friendship and is broken because she does not.

The last pages of the book, as he looks back on his career, are unexpectedly moving. Talley is an erudite and worldly man, an icon of fabulosity. 2. Favorite thing to wear to sleep?

My birthday suit 😉 Seriously, anything else is too hot, or too binding, or both.

3. What song really gets you going?

One that really gets my blood pumping and head banging is Luv Power from the Mama Head by George Lynch.

19. Favorite song to belt out at the top of your lungs when you’re alone?

Lyrics are mostly lost on me; I have a really hard time making them out without them being written down. But - I will sing along to Alice in Chains’ Dam That River because I know the words and can play the bass part along to it.

31. Most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

Nothing terribly unconventional - just things that your life insurance company would rather you didn’t. I’ve been downhill skiing on a couple of occasions, and flown in hot air balloons a couple of times. If you ask @sweetestdreamsofyou, it’s being along while attempting to drive in Canterbury or Barcelona. 😆

34. Celebrity crush(es)?

You can find them on my blog by search for the “g is for gorgeous” tag, but my big ones are Salma Hayek, Christina Hendricks, Hayley Atwell, Katheryn Winnick, and Natalie Dormer.

59. Night out with a bunch of friends in public or night in with one friend having deep conversations?

Night in. If there are too many people, I get quiet and just listen. Or get talked over, depending on who I’m with.

70. Favorite dessert?

My favorite dessert ever was a three-chocolate dessert array from the Dahlia Lounge in Seattle. These were exotic single-origin dark chocolates,

one cake-like, one mousse-like, one ice-cream-like. It was easily the best dessert I’ve ever had, and now I’ve both moved away and the restaurant itself was a victim of the pandemic. 😢

77. Would you rather watch a TV show or a movie?

I can really go either way on this. If there’s something new in a genre I like or featuring someone whose work I like, I’ll watch it whether it’s “on TV” (whatever than really means anymore) or as a feature film. That said - I do still like the movie theater experience, apart from the ads.

97. Are you a planner or a more spontaneous person?

I’m a planner. I like having the security of the reservations being there, and I love seeing an elaborate plan come to fruition and bring joy to someone.

99. What do you hope never changes?

That me and my family stay reasonably healthy; that the human race hasn’t managed to completely destroy itself; that I’m loved and can give love back in return.

This one’s about Archie getting Betty to her surprise party.  Enjoy :)

Archie has everything in place. Kevin is getting the cake, and had a good idea for how to keep it on theme. Veronica was getting a sign printed, and Toni and Fangs were going to bring beers, Jughead and Tabitha were bringing (virgin) punch and some snacks from the diner, and Alice and Uncle Frank went over early to hang up balloons and streamers. Archie sent out a few more texts to get as many people there as possible - he wasn't surprised by how many people were willing to drop their plans to do something special for Betty.

Archie knows everything is set up - time for the fun part! He's in his bedroom and looks out through the window - he sees that Betty's curtains are closed but the light is on. He knows Alice is already at the party, so Betty's home alone.

He struggles with how to word a text to her, typing and deleting things a few times. He decides to just go knock on her front door.

After a minute or so, she opens it, still wearing the same thing she'd been wearing at the White Wyrm a few hours ago. Her face lights up.

"Hey Arch," she says, with a smile, "what's up?"

All the sudden his heart is racing a little. Is he nervous? What is this?

"I uh... I have a surprise for you."

Betty looks at him, and then moves her head to look behind him. "What? Where? What do you mean?"

"Do you trust me?" he smirks.  

Betty breaks into a huge smile. "Of course I trust you, Arch."

He can't help but smile back, even bigger. "Let's go."

She follows him over to his driveway where his truck is parked. He opens the passenger side door for her and closes it after she climbs in. He does a little hop as he heads around to the driver's side and gets in.

"So, are you going to give me any clues?" Betty asks, as Archie pulls out of the driveway.

"Well, we're going somewhere that you're very familiar with..." he looks over and smiles. "But I can't give you too many clues or you'll figure it out. It's Special Agent Cooper I'm talking to, here."

Betty giggles. "Is there at least going to be food there? Because I'm starving."

"Obviously!" replies Archie with a laugh. "Who do you think I am?"

They both chuckled and then fell into a comfortable silence for a few seconds and Betty looked out the window.

"Hey," said Betty, breaking the silence. "Remember that time in Freshman year, Polly drove us to the movies? And we snuck in to see Scream 4 even though we weren't old enough?"

Archie laughs. "Yeah, I was so sure I could pass for 18. And honestly, that movie was scary! We probably shouldn't have been in there!"

Betty giggles. "Hey, it was Polly's idea," she added. “Don’t worry, I was there to protect you.” She looked over and winked at him. 

Archie’s heart skipped a beat. “Betty Cooper, always taking care of me.” 

"My mom found out later we had gone to the Bijou and Polly told her we went to see Shrek 4,” Betty continued. 

"That would have been just as epic!"

They both giggled, then Betty sighed.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you," said Archie, after another beat of silence.

Betty looked over at him, as Archie looked straight ahead, eyes on the road. "What do you mean?"

"Polly," Archie replied. "I said I would be there for you as a friend, and I wasn't."

"You were still there, Arch," said Betty.

"Yeah, the occasional text check in," said Archie. "But I promised I would be there for you however you needed. And then I didn't even help you when you ended up taking down the mothmen and... finding Polly."

"Archie," said Betty, raising her eyebrow. "You were literally stuck in a mine when we did that. When I found that out after, I felt bad after for not being there for you!"

Archie let out a breath. "Well, let's not do that anymore."

"Do what?" asked Betty.

"Not be there for each other," he said, looking over at her.

She locked eyes with him. "Deal," she said, with a smirk.

Just then, Archie pulled up to the FBI Station.

"Uh," said Betty, "the surprise is that I'm going to work?"

Archie laughed as he put the truck into park. "Technically, I guess... but not really." He hopped out of the truck and came around to open Betty's door. "C'mon, you'll see."

He offered her hand, and she took it as she stepped out of the truck.

"Let's go," he adds, tugging her by the hand. As they enter the building, he puts his hand over her eyes.

"Archie, is this necessary?" Betty asks, as they get into the elevator. "I know where I am, you dork!"

Archie laughs, standing closely behind her, still with his hand covering her eyes and his other hand around her waist to guide her. He comes right up to put his head on her shoulder. All the sudden all their breathing is in sync and it’s all he can think about. "You deserve to be celebrated," he said gruffly, lips right beside her ear. He could feel her shiver.

The elevator opened and he pushed her waist a little to guide her out. "Keep 'em closed," he says, hand still over her eyes, "keep 'em closed!"

Betty giggles as he guides her forward. "You know I don't like surprises, right?"

"Well that really sucks," says Archie, feeling giddy, "beca-au-use..." he drags out the word as he enters the room where everyone is waiting. Perfect, he thinks. He takes his hand off her face.

"SURPRISE!!!!!" everyone yells, as Betty jumps a little in response.

"Oh my god, you guys!"

“Here’s to Quantico’s latest and greatest field officer, Agent Betty Cooper,” says Alice, coming forward and handing Betty her diploma. “Congratulations, sweetheart.” She pulls her daughter in for a hug.  Archie can’t remember the last time he saw them both happy.  It’s nice.  

Fangs and Reggie start chanting, "Speech! Speech!"

"Oh wow, okay," says Betty, as Alice hands her her diploma, "I was not expecting," she gestures out with her hands, "this."

Wait, Archie thinks. Is she disappointed? Was she expecting something different?

"But," Betty continues, "it means more to me than I could ever express, so," She turns around and makes eye contact with Archie. Her smile is contagious. His heart starts racing again. He doesn’t want to leave her side. She turns back to the group and adds, “Thank you. It's been a rough year. But... I love you all.”

I love you, too, he thinks. Holy shit. What? He feels like his heart might burst out of his chest.  He’s never been more sure of anything.
