In honor of Friday the 13th, I think we deserve some black cat facts!

(it also gives me a chance to show off my kit😅)

We've all heard the myths and ledgends of how black cats are bad luck, but how did that come to be? To understand that, we need to see how it all started.

Of course, one of the earliest connections between cats and humans is ancient Egypt, cats often being seen as divine symbols. There was even an Egyptian goddess, Bastet, who had the head of a cat and a slender female body. She was the goddess of protection, pleasure, and the bringer of good health.

But how did they fall from divinity to being bad luck?

Well, they appear in Greek mythology, specifically related to Hecate, who is the goddess of magic, sorcery, the moon and witchcraft. Hecate was described as having a cat as both a pet and a familiar. (Y'know, the thing witches have in European folklore)

You can probably guess where it's going from here, but why did Europe end up hating them so much?

Well, it was the church (Shocking I know). The church insisted black cats were the incarnation of Satan.

It's also heavily linked to paganism which, as the church grew in power, pagans were considered direct threats to the church and thus accused of being witches.

My personal favorite quote is "Cats, like the women accused of witchcraft, tend to exhibit a healthy disrespect of authority" "They don't fawn, like dogs, upon even the unworthy. In the church, neither independent women, nor independent animals, were to be tolerated."

Of course we know Europe did more than that, but what else was there?

Well for one, they blamed the cats for the bubonic plague and started killing them on sight. Unfortunately we now know it wasn't the cats but the fleas on the rats and with very few cats to kill the rats, the plague spread like wild fire.

That superstition of a black cat crossing your path? Yeah that was also the church. It was supposed that if a black cat crossed your path it could have been a witch sending it's familiar to harm you. Similarly they believed it could have been the devil themself. So these peasants would run to the nearest church to ask for blessings. Naturally the church used this, encouraged it, and endorsed these 'bad omens'

These beliefs were of course brought over to America causing the Salem witch trials and countless more deaths of both people and black cats.

Actually I think that we should stop questioning other people's sexuality based on how they present, and I mean everyone. This includes straight cis people. If a straight woman wants to dress more masc she should be able to! If a straight cis man wants to dress more feminine he should be able to! You shouldn't automatically assume someone's sexuality because of how they dress and act.

First Pet: I believe we had a budgie (parakeet) when I was very little, but I don't so much remember said budgie as I remember that I remembered him when I was 5, if that sentence makes sense?

The first pet I remember was a cat named Gandalf (the Grey).

First Word: no fucking clue. I don't know what my kids' first words were either, sorry?

First Celebrity Crush: / First IRL Crush: I am grey-ace enough to have no answer to this. what are crushes? how do?

First Kiss: in college (see above 😅)

First Car: A pontiac something? it was blue and its transmission died after maybe a year, because it was Very Used (and I was Very Broke, so that was not fun)

First apartment/house/dorm/whatever away from your parents: Yes? I don't understand this question, I do in fact no longer live with my mother. (I had a dorm room at the one year of college I successfully completed? Then we had a series of varying degrees of cheap apartments. Currently we have a house because my husband has a very responsible Real Job and supports me and my magpie brain, we are very lucky that he can do that.)

First Time on a Plane: When I was 7 or 8 we did a plane trip to visit friends of ours in Virginia (we lived in Wisconsin, for those of you familiar enough with US geography that this means anything).

First Cellphone: Nokia something? It was one of their classic bricks

First Concert: Does a Sesame Street concert when I was 6 count?

First Foreign country you visited? Iceland! Family reunion when I was nine. I went again for the next family reunion when I was 19, but have not managed the 29 or 39 ones, and mostly don't talk to that side of the family anymore so probably won't get invited to the one when I'm 49.

First sport you ever played? I do not sport

First career aspiration? Mermaid (when I was four). Despite hating swimming lessons? I think I wanted to just... be able to swim with none of that learning bullshit.

Actual Real Career: I wanted to be a pathologist for the longest time, but I am not actually very good at school, so I had mostly given up on that by the time I managed to graduate high school.

Now I'm mostly just trying to get a good counselor/med cocktail so I can do anything consistently so. :sighs: SUGGESTIONS ON FUTURE CAREERS WELCOME *snerk*

I was an occasional hobby writer most of my life, but probably when I did Lost for Words because it was the first long/chaptered fic I'd ever written and posted and finished.

Honorable mention to the summer in high school when I took a notebook with me to band camp and spent half my down time sitting outside with a flute case beside me (or leaning against the alto sax case for week two) writing in a notebook and confusing the hell out of everyone who saw me because there was also a creative writing group on that same campus so I looked like I was trying to be in both at once. I was weirdly proud of the chaos vibes there.

Hello friends! First SSS of the year for me. Also an early post because I want to write after sleeping and maybe some validation early in the day will help 💖 I have six snippets from six WIPs to share (only the fifth one written today, which makes me sad because I really wanted to share new new words, but it's okay) and I want to talk about them, so I'm throwing everything under the cut with the tags.

You can vote for the WIP you'd like me to continue the most (except Like We Had A Clue, because I know people are waiting for an update and it would skew the vote hahaha). Pick one of the other 5! Though as always I'll follow inspiration and not what the people want.

1. First EGF WIP. I have many ideas for EGF, but considering a) possible writer's blocks, b) exams, c) other non EGF related WIPs, I honestly don't know how much I'll manage to write. This one is the most “urgent” one because it's a collab with @aroace-genderfluid-sheep and he's already done so many cool things for it and I'm so excited!!! The snippet I'm sharing is all I've written for this fic. Oh well!

“You could've at least sent us to Dante's inferno. That would've been intellectually stimulating.”

“This place is plenty stimulating.”

Of course it is. It's a fucking sex dungeon.

2. Second EGF WIP. I shared something from this already. There's hope I'll finish this one because it's short, but knowing myself I can't make promises hahaha.

“I’m sorry,” they say. Their voice is deep and smooth, like I imagine a cello would sound if it could talk. “I don’t think I can have dinner with you tonight.”

I can’t hide how much it stings. Of course my monster under the bed would come out just to reject me.

3. Like We Had A Clue. Chapter 5 is outlined in detail but I'm still struggling so much with it. Have some sentences I might have shared already in the past because I wrote them months ago!

“Are you trying to trap me, Snow? Keep me here to make food for you forever?”

“What if I am?”

I raise an eyebrow. His hand is still on my arm. He lets it fall.

4. WIP I shared from a couple of weeks ago. I want to have fun with this so I'm not forcing myself to write it, but I also really want to finish it. It's a struggle, always 🤣

(There's nothing innocent about four thousand words of Fangvald having a pity wank after Cherry spat on his face and demanded to know the true motives behind his betrayal.)

But it's fanfiction. Exploring fictional worlds and fictional characters and fictional relationships.

It would say nothing about me if he hadn't also linked two of my longest 4am rants about loneliness and deserving love.

5. Mystery WIP. I started plotting it yesterday and I've already lost steam. We'll see if it ever gets written.

6. Picture book story! The issue with this one is that I have to rewrite it completely. I have @johnwgrey's super useful notes, but I hate rewriting and editing with a burning passion, and this story needs so much work it hurts. But I'll do it!

Of course Snow had no reason to trust him. The fact that Baz had decided he’d never even try to hurt him again couldn’t erase five years of antagonism. Especially because Snow didn’t know about his change of heart. (It would’ve been ridiculous. Hey, Snow, I decided I don’t hate you anymore. Quite the opposite, instead. Can I kiss you?)

That was a lot. I feel like Simon and Baz are possessing me because I want to write SO MUCH, I literally can feel the words pushing to get out, but the second I open a doc it all fades out. Ugh. Hopefully I'll be more motivated in the morning.

I'm good! Gonna start working on my new wip Rebel Moon, which should be fun. It's a new genre for me, as I've never done sci-fi before, so yeah. I think it'll be good. Also, life in general has been pretty good. Pretty fucking stressful, but better than last year, so can't complain

15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)?

Oo, I answered this for Took, but honestly, titles. Summaries are easy because I can just like take a snipped from my fic and post it into the summary box and I'm done. Titles take a little bit more finesse. Tags are hard too, because I try to make sure I tag everything that I think I have in my fic, but of course I can't tag everything but I do try

18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.

My fic Monster Like Me had a completely different version before I decided I liked the current version better....but even getting to that version it took 3 rewrites, one complete deletion of the fic and original outline and a whole new rewrite to get to what it is today. And I have to say I like this version so much better than what it was originally. Did you know this fic took me almost a fucking month to write? That's the longest a oneshot has ever taken me. Ever

20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)

Oh...I don't really have a lot of meta, at least not with the fic I'm currently working on. But with my Rebel Moon au, the idea actually came to me on my 7 hour plane ride home from Hawaii. I couldn't sleep at all nor did I play on my computer nor did I watch any movies...I just listened to music the entire time. And for most of the time, I listened to

Guess what, I'm finally caving and making a pinned post. Dire, I know.

So whomst tf am I then? Well mostly I'm a resident annoying opinionated fuck who realised way too late she's been hyperfixating on a mid Swedish horse game for more than half her life. I am well known for never shutting the fuck up and having a lot of opinions on absolutely everything. I yap a lot about HSR + Fire Emblem, but also a Lot about SSO, although more specifically my rewrite fic, but it counts. And a lot of stuff about literally whatever with the only consistency being that I talk A Lot.

I also publish fanfiction on Ao3! Primarily a bunch of one-shots about Fire Emblem and Honkai Star Rail. Otherwise I publish what is going to be the longest Star Stable Online fanfiction by a huge fucking margin. Part 1 of Unto Daylight is currently being uploaded. Deilight: The collective name for QuintSum + Squirrel Punt. Comes from the proper name Unto Daylight. Deilight comes from both sounding like Daylight and being a portmanteau of Deia and Moonlight, which is the names of my OC protagonists. Unto Daylight was coined very late in the two-parter's life, so before this I called it Deia And Moonlight's Various Horsegame Misadventures. Hence, Deilight.

(Each of these three names have their own tags, I'd suggest just going through the entire #Deilight tag if you're interested because I tag everything relevant with at least that tag, while I don't use the other two As Much.)

If you don't want to follow people who swear enough to make sailors blush, are narcissistic enough to make Narcissus pale in comparison, and think themself both better than God herself and the funniest person alive, you should probably not follow me. Tawan’s perceptive, but he doesn’t need to be

In hindsight, one thing that sticks out to me about episode 9 is the way that Kinn and Porsche seem to be doing their best to keep their relationship hidden from Tawan as well as everyone else. 

On the surface, this is obviously an excellent plan, given that he’s a manipulative bastard who won’t hesitate to take advantage of any cracks he can find in Kinn’s emotional armour - but it’s a lost cause right from the start. Not just because Tawan’s perceptive as hell and picks up on every glance they exchange, but because the first time we ever saw Tawan onscreen, he was spying on their date. He’s not just picking up on the clues, he’s known exactly what Kinn and Porsche mean to each other throughout every interaction he’s had with them, and given that he disappears several times between his first appearance onscreen in ep 8 and being brought to the main family’s mansion, anyone that he was reporting back to in between times is also 100% in the loop.

I just find it very interesting that the episode doesn’t draw any attention to that detail - almost as if it’s slipped Kinn and Porsche’s mind, since Kinn didn’t initially see Tawan and Porsche was convinced he was a ghost, and neither of them has quite connected the dots. And since the viewer is seeing things from their perspective, not Tawan’s, it’s easy for it to slip our mind as well.

For Day 1 of KinnPorsche Week (prompt: ‘Can I try’ + love)

Kim had idolised both of his older brothers, growing up. He had never tried to hide it, precisely - but then again, he’d never been the most demonstrative soul, even as a child. 

In his darker moments, he wonders if that hero-worship was where it had all gone wrong. If everything he ever loves is simply doomed to crumble into ashes at his touch.

He can even pinpoint the very moment that any chance of having a normal bond with Kinn - well, normal by the standards of the tooth and nail world they live in - was destroyed. The moment that he unwittingly crushed it to dust beneath his oblivious heel.

It was the day that he’d been sitting beside Kinn, idly kicking his feet, listening to his older brother stumble through some chord practice on the brand new guitar their father had just gifted him. And Kim, with all the enthusiasm and naiveté of a child who hadn’t yet learned that the world does not revolve around him, had asked, “Can I try, P’Kinn?”

It was all inevitable, after that. Music had been Kinn’s first love, after all - at first, Kim had thought that it was something they could bond over together, but he knew better now. The worst parts of him had always been too much like their father for something so trite as simply sharing a passion equally; no matter that in the softest parts of his underbelly he had always yearned for that connection, his claws were too sharp, too greedy. No matter that he’d tried to sever those darkest parts of himself, leave them rotting in the shadows of the family mansion and never return to claim them - in the end, he could never make the cut clean. In the end, he’d walked out the door having knowingly stolen a shard of Kinn’s heart, and the guilt had never once halted his path no matter how heavily it weighed him down.

Of course, in his lighter moments he can’t help wondering if his father somehow orchestrated it - their talents, their estrangement, all of it. Normally, that’s a terribly tempting line of thought to pursue. But for this? Any explanation that absolves him of blame is a leap of imagination too far.

(The thing is, neither Kim nor Kinn ever quite learned to test the limits of their imagination. They’ve always had to rely on someone else for that.)

Tankhun’s sudden and unannounced presence in his flat was making Kim feel deeply, viscerally unsettled. Not necessarily in a bad way - it was more to do with the fact that his monochrome interiors had never prepared themselves to welcome quite such a concentrated splash of colour into their midst, and the sight of his oldest brother flitting around, peering at every detail and meaningless trinket left out on display with single-minded attention, was one that Kim couldn’t foresee himself getting used to any time soon. After all, it still brought a surprised kick of wary joy to his tattered heart every time he caught wind of Tankhun voluntarily leaving the house on another pilgrimage to the strangest corners of Bangkok imaginable; he also inevitably felt a twinge of resentment every time someone from his old life (his current life, there was no escaping his family’s life no matter how hard or how many times he tried) intruded on his personal sanctum. 

Reconciling the two conflicting emotions was proving nigh impossible, so he flopped down into the chair nearest the windows, picked up the guitar resting against it, and began to strum.

Stolen as it was, the solace he found in music almost never failed to soothe him.

Minutes passed, almost unnoticed; a new melody danced at the tips of his fingers, words to accompany it drifting almost to his ears. It was almost a shock to pause, look up, and realise that he had no idea how long it had been since Tankhun had ceased his fluttering and settled down to sit opposite him, gazing at him with an inscrutable expression in his eyes.

“...What?” Kim asked, when it became clear that Tankhun had no intention of breaking the silence of his own volition.

A beat of silence. Another. Kim couldn’t quite recall ever seeing his older brother so consumed by hesitance.

And finally, a hand stretching out towards the guitar, bridging the gap between them. “Can I try?”

today.... i am thinking about....

bruce taking the rats from eddies apartment home bc theres no one to take care of them w eddie in arkham and he looks up absolute mountains of rat care info and gets them an absolutely MASSIVE enclosure, fucking floor to ceiling, 5-6 levels, different stairs and platforms etc to get to each level, different chew toys on every level, and theyre fat and happy and he sometimes w take one out to sit on his shoulder and nibble at his hair when he needs a Rubber Duck for a case

and maybe also he goes to visit eddie in arkham once in a while and updates him abt how the rats r doing and its just that little connection between them like hes given the rats a better life as a proxy for edward and

anyway. bruces new pet rats.

“Also, they took our Fucking clothes, Those cunts!” Taylor scoffs, rolling her eyes.

“What the Fuck are we gonna do?” Belly questioned, “Calm down it’s going to be fine, we just need to find something to cover us up,” you say looking around.

“I’ll look for something to cover us up,” Taylor offered swimming finding something.

“While you do that I’m going to call Jeremiah,” You get your phone from the side of the lake, pressing his contact name.

Ring, ring.. “Hello, Jere we need help,” You shout down the phone, cause he clearly at a party.

“Oh my, Y/N where are you, sweetheart,” Jeremiah walking outside so he can hear you, concerned for you.

“Hang on,” You look up, “Guys where are we?” You questioned, “Shit, we don’t even know, some kind of lake,” Belly shouted, Taylor trying to find something.

“Jeremiah, I’m going to put my Snapchat location on for you to see where we are because we have no clue. And also we are naked, can you bring clothes? For me, Belly and Taylor,” You told Jeremiah, taking a deep breath trying not to panic.

“Really, your naked! ok I’ll be there and bring clothes for you guys, bye love you,” Jeremiah quickly ends the call after you say, “love you,”

You swim, where Belly and Taylor are. “I’ve got good news and Bad news,” You tell them, They look at you, “what’s the bad news?” Taylor asked.

“Well, the bad news is that it’s going to take time for Jeremiah to come but the good news is he is and with clothes for us too!” You all smile and sigh at the same time.

“It’s so fucking cold, I’m Freezing my tits off,” Belly complains, “Aren’t we all?” You sigh.

“We could at least try to, find something and walk a bit naked?” Taylor said, “I agree, it’s going to be late as it is when Jere gets here so better get our asses up,” You say, “Come on,”

“Fuck, we really doing this?” Belly grumbled more out of fear of being seen, “Yes,” you and Taylor say at the same time.

You, Belly and Taylor get out the water. Luckily there was no one about to see you.

“Look over there, a really big boat sheet!” Taylor and you pulled it off quickly, wrapping it around you, belly and her.

“Well at least this is better than nothing,” Belly said, you start walking only thing you got in your hands is your phones.

You get up this long road, “Remind me not to ever go skinny dipping again unless it’s just you guys,” You laugh enlightening the mood, “Yh same Y/N,” Belly and Taylor laughed too, shaking their heads.

Meanwhile, after Jeremiah got your call. Conrad came to him with a bag full of clothes, which was yours and the girls!

“Oh, my God, Who the fuck did that to them!” Jere scoffed as Conrad and him speed run to their cars, “It was fucking Nicole and some other pathetic girls, they are so done!” Conrad growls,

“Y/N rang me up, that’s how I knew that happened.” Jere told, Conrad nodded.

They both stepping on the gas peddle following the directions on your Snapchat location.

Summary - Peter and you eventually having a baby, ended up having twins. Peter showing the children how to use his web shooters.

You and Peter Parker seemly high school sweethearts falling in love, now 6 years later being both 24 years old married with 2 children at the age of 3 years.

You taking care of your children, packing their lunch for play group as you look up seeing one of your babies on the ceiling. You gasped, still not used to seeing them sticking to things because they got their Dad’s (Peter Parker) radioactive genes.

“Hey, Babe are you ok?” Peter questioned walking through the kitchen door, he noticed one of his babies sticking on the wall again.

“I’m fine, looks like this little munchkin got themselves stuck thou,” you giggled, your other baby crawling to your feet. “Can you get her off of the ceiling Thanks,” you pick up your son.

Peter climbing up to get D/N, “it’s ok, Daddy’s got you baby,” he cradles her in his arms going back down to the ground. “I’m still not use to them having your powers,” you shake your head, moving to put the pack up in the fridge for tomorrow.

Your son giggled “Daddy, on wall with D/N,” pointing at him. “Yes, Baby,” you giggle as your baby sticks to you, gently grabbing the talcum powder to unstick him. you bring that everywhere with you because these babies of yours are very sticky!

“There sweetheart, all safe,” Peter kisses her cheek, she blowing raspberries in his face and making her hands clap giggling.

“There was a 50 percent chance rate of them getting my genes that are radioactive,” He grins, kissing your cheek. You smile ruffling his hair, “Dork,” Peter raises his eyebrow, “yeah, but your dork,” he whispers right near your ear.

“Daddy, mummy play, Play,” S/N and D/N squeals smiling, you both put them down on the floor as they crawl to their toys to the living area. “At least they got your smarts too,” you smirked, Peter brings his arms around your waist, “Your smart too, Darling,” kisses you.

“Am I?” You tease, “Yes, Baby so not dumb,” Peter teases back. “I think our Babies want us to play with them, come along Petey,” you walk sitting down, Peter nodding to follow you.

S/N and D/N are actually playing the same thing, which is rare even thou they are twins. You pick up a doll with Peter, laughing when you see a Spiderman Doll.

“What’s so funny, Mrs Parker,” You burst out laughing again, your babies look at you laughing too. “Well, Mr Parker You bought yourself a Spider-Man doll when we was 17-18,” you explained, showing him.

“Hey, it’s not a doll it’s actually an action figure,” He corrects you, taking it into his hands pouting. D/N walks to Peter, “spider-man,” she says in awe, hugging him. You giggle, as S/N comes to join the hug.

Ever since they found out their Dad is spider-man they are obsessed. Thinking it was such a cool adventure to be apart of, it was a pretty funny story. Your babies actually understood how to keep a secret, Tony Stark being a massive help out with the little ones.

Later on in the day you fed the twins in their high chairs. Peter coming through the kitchen door just after a mission with his suit on. Your babies babble “Daddy, da show show,” they point on their wrist, smiling.

They had done eating, now wanting to play. Peter took both of his children in his arms, while you go out shopping. “Show, show” They kept repeating, giggling.

Peter Sits on the sofa with them, side by side. “What do you mean? Sweethearts,” Peter asked, as they point to his suit. “Oh, do you want to know about these,” he recognises at what S/N and D/N are pointing at.

“Yes,” they throw their hands up, giggling. “Mm, well the basics are these are called web shooters, can you say Web shooters? Babies,” He smiles, encouraging them to learn new words.

“Web, shooter,” Making grabbing hands at them, “That’s good, Munchkins!” Peter praises them, they smile even more loving the attention. He takes his web shooters off, to show them how to use them.

He clips one on D/N little arm then the other on S/N arm. “To use them, you see where the little pad lock is,” he points to each one, making sure they understand, “you press that button, with your two middle fingers,” Peter wiggles his fingers, showing his babies.

“Yes, two fingers,” they nod, wiggling their little middle fingers giggling. “Your fast learners, Babies aren’t you?” Peter praises at them, “but wait, loves.” Stopping S/N pressing the button.

“You need to aim like this,” Peter stretches out his arms, “Then do this Motion with your fingers as you point your arm out.” He explains, clearly and carefully. “It’s going to feel strange at first, but you will get the hang of it,” he smiles.

“You can try, Babies,” He tells, D/N sticks her arm out aiming then shooting the web.

Another Summer, away from the Fishers or so you thought? Your family decided to take some changes this year, actually renting a home in cousins.

It’s only gets better for you because you can spend time with Jeremiah and Conrad, but mostly Jeremiah. Your excited because you haven’t seen them in so long as you Moved away a few years back.

“Hey, look there is a car pulling up on our drive way..” Conrad, explained to Jere. They go outside to see, who it is.

“Omg, It’s Y/N,” Jeremiah screams, as you step out the car walking to him. He picks you up spinning you around.

“Alright, alright! I know your excited but I’m fucking dizzy,” You squeal, hugging him back.

“Hi, Conrad!” You hug, him “At least someone, is normal,” you tease, squinting eyes at Jeremiah.

“Hi,” Conrad smiled, he is shy and quiet where as Jeremiah is the opposite mostly.

“Hey, at least I give better hugs,” Jere defends, taking your hand.

“Yh, sure,” you tease back, smirking.

“What are you doing in Cousins? We have not seen you in like forever, we missed you so much!” Jere asked you, your in their house.

Your mum said hi to the boys as she walks to the other mums.

“I’m here for the summer,” you clapped, excited, “And I’ve missed you both so much too!,”

“I’ve always wanted you to be here,” Jere smiled, “so room tour?”

“Yes room tour,” You laugh, standing up.

Conrad eventually talking with you and Jeremiah as you walk around the house.

Even though you been away from the Fisher boys for sometime they acted like you never left them. Especially, instant connection with Jeremiah. You still liked Conrad but everyone could definitely tell there is a connection between you and Jeremiah.

“How’s it been away, you been enjoying your new home?” Jere question, jumping up the stairs.

“Not too bad, of course 10x better if I never left but I’m glad I’m getting the opportunity to see you,” You smiled, Jeremiah taking your hand to guide you in his bedroom.

“This my bedroom,” He smiles, “If we go down the hall there other bedrooms and the bathroom,”

“You show me, your bedroom first,” You wink, teasing. You and Jeremiah always had this flirty/banter side together, no matter what!

“Yes, you know me Petal,” Jere winked back teasing you too. Expect something was different about it this summer, it wasn’t the same.

“Come on, let’s go downstairs! Looks like Conrad beat us to it,” Jeremiah laughed, running down with you following.

When you meet a cute, nerdy guy who stumbles over his words. You didn’t expect to go out with him, but now just 2 months later that’s where you are in life.

“Peter, come sleep baby,” You kiss his cheek as you rub his hand, “I know you and I are suckles for studying but even I think that’s a bit too much,” you giggle.

Sounds that sounds like he’s actually moaning, you thought. You could feel something against your thigh, looking down as the covers have been half on you both.

You see Peter’s hard on, your eyes widen not use to sleeping with a guy. Feeling strange that you saw a bulge with his pants on.

Until you see Peter’s face pouting in his sleep like a baby against your chest, you calm down not thinking much about it.

You cuddle Peter more, getting comfy as you need to stretch out.

Jeremiah is the sweetest boy, I could ever imagine having in my life.

I suddenly, felt two strong arms wrapped around me picking me up as I arrived getting out the car.

“Ah, Jeremiah!” I shout, startled. “Hey, pretty girl relax,” he grinned playfully, I calmed down until I hear “We are just going for a swim.” He picked me up running to the pool with me laughing.

Conrad and Steven had Belly, dumping her into the pool too. Now Belly and I was both in the pool smirking to one another, both knowing that Conrad and Jeremiah would help us get out.

They did at the same time too, which is perfect! We gave each other a knowing look as we grabbed our boys hand flipping them into the pool.

“Oh, my” We laughed, “God,” Belly finishing the sentence. We high fived each other as our boyfriends come to the surface, smirking back. Me and Belly try to scramble but it was no use, we was giggling as they got our waists pulling us back under playfully.

Look like Jere and Conrad had the same idea as they both pulled us under the water for a kiss. We all popped our heads up laughing way too hard at each other’s expressions.

Steven just looking at the whole bizarre conundrum going on gob smacked.

We got out the pool, Jere wraps a towel round my body such a gentleman as Conrad dose the same for Belly. I go into the kitchen, all wet.

“Oh, my,” Susannah puts her hands to her mouth, “The girls really got you this time.” She laughs, smiling while talking to Laurel.

Laurel wasn’t surprised seeing that your all wet bar from Steven, she shakes her head continuing to talk to Susannah.

“First one to get dress wins!” Jeremiah screams through the house, rushing up the stairs. You run right behind him leaving Belly and Conrad talking.

You laugh as you throw yourself into his bed. “Hey, your wet missy!” Jere pretending to be mad but breaking into a smile. He dives into the bed, “with out me,” he winks.

“I thought you said get dry,” you climbed out to get some clothes before he could say anything. You waved, going into the bathroom.

Jeremiah got dressed himself, way quicker than you. Now waiting on his bed for you, strolling through his phone.

I come out of the bathroom all fresh and clean and climbing into Jere’s bed. He puts his phone down looking at me smiling.

“Wait, are you wearing my clothes?” He smirked, running his hands against the sides of my waist gently. I giggle as he grips on to me more, pulling me into his lap.

“Is that why you rushed into the bathroom?” Jere nozzles his head into my shoulder, I’m giggling over the feel of him tickling me.

“Yes,” I smile cuddling my body into his more, “I did because they are so comfortable.” I sigh in. Content, Jere peppers kisses all over my neck and shoulders.

“Mmm, you look Adorable Babe.” He states, twirling a piece of my hair into his fingers. “Just want to eat you all up,” He pretends to eat me, I lightly scream giggling.

Jeremiah sits up to peep through the door, seeing that no one is around. He closes the door and locks it grinning.

upon a less hyped rewatch... porsche was definitely vibe checking tf out of vegas and the little pick me didn't pass. he's so different to vegas now vs when they were riding the bike together. /porsche was also wrapping kinn around his finger once he realized pete was sending intel back to their boss on any and all interactions porsche had with vegas.

now i could totally be putting too much thought into this but i think the drinking was an act. the entire episode we got porsche hesitating with drinks and i definitely think he's wiser now about accepting drinks. but after vegas made it known he knew things about porsche he had no right to know, porsche shifted, changed, to me. he wanted to sus vegas out and he needed to play a part and so he "drank". (arm and pete being plied with booze and then suddenly sober when porsche disappears with vegas also caught my eye.)

porsche goes with vegas. he stumbles, barely able to walk. he slurs his words. he wants vegas to talk, because he knows vegas was never far from him, always watching him. he knew vegas liked talking to him. his face when vegas was taking off his shirt, the look vegas didn't see, was sober. calculating. and then vegas kisses him and suddenly he's not drunk anymore, he's fucking shocked. that wasn't part of his dumb plan (or maybe it was in the back of mind, a test to see how vegas would go. kinn told him vegas was obsessed with things that kinn had.)

but do you know what was part of his plan? pete reporting back to kinn. he knew he was safe in this hostile environment because kinn would come for him the way he snuck out of the hospital to find him when he couldn't sleep. which is why he smiled when kinn showed up.

sure he absolutely miscalculated with vegas, hell he probably had no clue what he could get vegas to say but he wanted to help kinn, but he KNEW kinn would come for him.

and then kinn's fury also wasn't part of the plan and porsche definitely doesn't slur when he says he shouldn't have fallen for an asshole like kinn and he definitely doesn't stumble when he goes to leave.

he's trying so hard to fit into this dark underbelly he's found himself in. does he fuck up? yes. is he doing his best? yes.

i need recommendations for some lesbian movies. My wife wants to watching something gay, but is tired of gay men's movies

oh gosh I am so sorry I'm just now getting to this - I was out of town the whole weekend and got back yesterday evening, when my brain was melting out my ears from the heat. without further ado!

I have categorized this list into a few sections:

Well-Made/"Good" Movies I Can Vouch For

Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019): you have probably heard of this, but in case you haven't, it's a French historical drama about a painter who is commissioned to do a wedding portrait for a reluctant bride-to-be. It's lush, emotional, bittersweet, and breathtakingly shot. Content warnings: mention of a minor character's suicide, brief abortion scene featuring a secondary character, one scene of the leads doing drugs together.

Saving Face (2004): This is a lovely film about a young Chinese surgeon who is juggling her secret relationship with the drama her mother causes. Content warnings: intergenerational trauma.

Carol (2014): Again, you've probably heard of this one - it's another historical drama, this one based on Patricia Highsmith's novel The Price of Salt. A young aspiring photographer is captivated by a mysterious woman named Carol. After Portrait came out I find myself not as enamored of this one (I think Rooney Mara is not very good in it lmao), but it's a lovely film worth a watch. Content warnings: period-typical homophobia, Carol's shitty husband.

The Half of It (2020): From the director of Saving Face, this is a high-school coming of age movie inspired by Cyrano de Bergerac, in which a second-generation Chinese girl ends up volunteering to write love letters to her crush, "from" the jock who is also in love with said crush. Some really beautiful stuff about immigrant Chinese families in here, and I was really touched by the friendship between the two leads. Content warnings: racism, homophobia, bullying, intergenerational trauma.

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017): This is based on the life of William Marston, creator of Wonder Woman, and his partners Elizabeth and Olive. I am given to understand that the relationship between the two women was probably not romantic IRL, but I really love the way the movie treats both the triad and the women as a couple. I also think the BDSM stuff is cute. Content warnings: age gap/power differential romance (two professors and their TA), homophobia including a brief violent attack, brief cancer subplot towards the end of the film.

Summerland (2020): A WWII movie about the bond between a reclusive writer and the young boy she is reluctantly forced to care for due to the London evacuations. I will spoil this for you because it gave me severe anxiety: the lesbians both live to the end, and they get to raise their son together! My main complaint is not enough Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Content warnings: WWII imagery/setting, parent death (offscreen but significant part of the plot), brief child peril.

The Favourite (2018): This is a weird little black comedy about two cousins who are vying to be the favored paramour of Queen Anne in 18th century Britain. It's some fun fucked-up drama. Content warnings: animal abuse/death (toward the end of the film), manipulation, non-consensual drugging.

I Can't Think Straight (2008): I haven't seen this one since college but I remember liking it - it's about two women, one Palestinian and one Indian, who meet and fall in love despite unlikely circumstances. Content warnings: cheating (one character is engaged to a man).

V For Vendetta (2005) - in case you forgot, this has lesbians! Content warnings: torture, attempted sexual assault, hanging, child death, panic attack, homophobia/dead lesbians

Birds of Prey (2020) - Harley Quinn is canonically bisexual! Also I love this movie. Content warnings: cartoonish violence, graphic torture including of a child, child death (implied/heard), implied sexual assault by the villain (of a minor character).

Booksmart (2019): High school comedy about two best friends who decide they're sick of being dweebs and want to go to a cool party before they graduate. I think it's largely delightful and I love the lesbian character's story. However, the subplot with the teacher who has sex with her (19yo) student is BAD and I won't defend it, nor will I judge anyone for wanting to skip based on that. Content warnings: extended non-con drugged sequence (played for laughs/nothing bad happens to them), aforementioned age gap/power differential romance (secondary characters).

But I'm a Cheerleader (1999): Clea Duvall and Natasha Lyonne star in a satire of conversion therapy camps, also featuring young Dante Basco. Personally I think it keeps things light and silly enough not to trigger me with the religious rhetoric. Content warnings: conversion camp setting and corresponding conservative Christian rhetoric, general homophobia, uh, RuPaul is here at one point?

In the Heights (2021): This movie is very much not perfect, chiefly for the colorism in the casting choices. BUT I like that Daniela and Carmen are gay now. Content warnings: racism, prejudice against undocumented individuals, grandparent death.

Movies I Think You Should Watch Maybe - Are They Good? I Couldn't Say!

D.E.B.S. (2004): This is a deeply silly movie about an all-girls' spy school in which the star pupil falls in love with international supercriminal Lucy Diamond, directed by queer icon Angela Robinson and featuring lesbian grandma Holland Taylor as the headmaster. Content warnings: cartoonish (PG-13) gun violence.

Imagine Me & You (2005): This was baby's first f/f movie for me, and so it has a very special place in my heart even though it is Problematic because it's about a lady cheating on her husband with Lena Headey, and also nobody remembered bisexuality exists so they say "lesbian" pretty exclusively and that sucks. Lena Headey and Piper Perabo are so good together though, and I genuinely like everyone in this movie. Content warnings: cheating (one character is married to a man).

Happiest Season (2020): Do not @ me this is MY movie!!! Kristen and Mackenzie are PERFECT. Content warnings: homophobia, manipulative behavior, one weirdly intense interrogation scene with mall cops that frankly should've been cut, mentioned fish death.

A Simple Favor (2018): This movie...it is batshit. If you like trashy drama, you will probably like this movie! Linda Cardellini plays a lesbian artist and I love her so much. Content warnings: manipulation, murder, incest (adult half-siblings not raised together), intense discussion of murder-suicide, gun violence

The Falling (2014): This movie is also batshit and not good, but I need more people to watch it, because I've seen it four times and I have no idea what it's trying to say. It features Maisie Williams and Florence Pugh as British boarding school teens who have an intense "friendship" and then suddenly everyone in the school starts having collective fainting spells. Please, I just need to find the person out there who gets what this movie is doing so they can explain it to me. Content warnings: unexplained medical issues (fainting), seizures, incest (consensual? sex scene), attempted suicide, grief, discussion of sexual assault and trauma therein (secondary character)

A New York Christmas Wedding (2020): This movie is ALSO batshit in a completely different way than the other two, and again, I need someone to explain it to me. It's, uh, sort of It's a Wonderful Life but with a bisexual heroine, and some batshittery along the way? Content warnings: suicide (secondary character), teen pregnancy, weird pro-life vibes, parent death, way too much church, homophobia, Chris Noth

So... season 9, is glorious chaos! So many amazing moments. Anyways, here are some of my first random thoughts.

Gem and Impulse are my new favorite duo.

Impulse woke up and decided boats. Gem woke up and decided murder.

Just- the entirety of the mansion raid.

I want to make a death count/complication of the first episode because wow.

Humorous confused, constantly.

Bdubs is already making me die with laughter and his episode isn't even out yet.

My hot take on 2000s fashion is that it didn’t get really bad until 2003. Then it was hideous and uncomfortable until roughly the time of the 2008 crash, at which point it was still ugly but slightly more functional as clothes. No amount of body positivity will change the fact that low-rise jeans (like, super-low-rise jeans, not just slightly below the belly button) were bad at being pants. They would not stay up on your ass, even if they were stretch denim. A belt just dragged them down faster. I'm convinced that celebrities and models used some kind of tape to keep them up. They weren't for normal people who had to walk places.

Not holding my breath on that body positivity, by the way.

Apologies if this is not your area of law, but how would you rewrite Legally Blonde to be more legally accurate?

The most glaring inaccuracy of the movie is that Elle is allowed to represent a client as a 1L. As a 3L, she could represent a client with the supervision of a licensed attorney (i.e., Luke Wilson’s character), but not in her first year. If I wanted to make the movie legally accurate, I would make the “Elle gets her shit together” montage cover a longer period of time, then do a time skip. This would also take care of the fact that she never seems to take exams or think about doing a journal/moot court. Because it’s a longer period of time, I’d show her making some friends (not including Vivian—that has to wait until the internship).

The second set of inaccuracies revolves around the trial; chiefly, Callahan fucks up so badly at uncovering facts before trial that, realistically, the rest of the movie should be about Brooke Windham persuading the court that he’s provided ineffective assistance of counsel and unraveling that whole mess so she can get a retrial. It’s one thing not to know about perms and engage an expert witness on hair care to expose Chutney’s lies. It’s quite another to fail to dig up the most rudimentary info on a guy who claims to be sleeping with your client. (He brings his boyfriend to the trial! A boyfriend who apparently wasn’t told and couldn’t pick up from context clues that his lover was lying about sleeping with a woman for what seems to be financial gain! Stereotypes aside, it couldn’t have been hard to figure out that he was gay!) I think the best way to address this issue is to have the action take place during the discovery phase. This would take care of the smaller trial inaccuracies and free Elle from most evidentiary concerns. It wouldn’t be as dramatic as a trial, and you’d have to find some other way for Chutney to make a public confession. An evidentiary hearing?

Lastly, I don’t buy that Warner would graduate without a job offer. He’s shown to be a mediocre but well-connected and ambitious law student; if his dad could pull strings to get him into Harvard and Warner actually managed to graduate, his dad would surely be able to get him a job at a golf buddy’s firm. Warner would have to be wildly incompetent, be personally hellish to work with, or just have not applied for any jobs for that to happen (probably at least two out of three). I get that he has to suffer for his heartlessness and unearned smugness, and it tracked for me when I was eleven, but as an adult lawyer, I’m just morbidly curious. Did he personally call every job lead and call them the c-word? Did he nobly go into public interest (public interest jobs usually won’t hire you until you pass the bar)? Did his dad tell people NOT to hire him, because unbeknownst to Warner he has a rare condition where he’ll die if he attends an arbitration? Questions abound.

Really, though, I like the balance that the movie strikes between telling an exciting story and portraying some of the realities of law school and legal practice. For example: the scenario where the real murderer confesses on the witness stand is basically a Hollywood fantasy, but I like how it’s set up as Elle poking holes in Chutney’s story about not hearing the gunshot. The point of cross-examination is to establish in front of the jury that the witness isn’t credible, or that her testimony doesn’t actually support what the prosecution is trying to prove. Callahan’s failures as a lawyer are also a nice illustration of how the attorney/client relationship can break down when the attorney doesn’t respect the client’s goals, dislikes her due to his biases, and is too arrogant to recognize his limitations. Law school really can be a snotty environment; I didn’t even go to a T14, but some people would look down on others for petty shit (like not having attorneys for parents) as well as out of sexism, racism, etc. The professors at my school weren’t that harsh when it came to cold-calling (some had a strict demeanor but asked relatively easy questions, some asked hard questions but were nice about it, some would only cold-call on pre-determined/assigned days, and some never cold-called), but I think law professors in general have become nicer in this regard, either because they didn’t enjoy being humiliated when they were in law school, or because they’re thinking “ugh it would be so cringe if I did that, do I think I’m in the fucking Paper Chase?”

Also, I used to think it was weird that Elle and Vivian live in a dorm. The only students who lived in campus housing at my school were the ones doing a semester abroad, and those dorms weren’t hall-style. But it turns out Harvard Law has dorms!

I sincerely do not judge people for only reading one or two genres for pleasure. Looking for books you like outside of a familiar genre actually takes some skill, and lots of people have limits on their time/energy that make setting aside any time for reading an accomplishment. However, if you do only read one or two genres, don't act like you know what other genres are like or pretend that you don't read them because they're worthless! It's much better to say "reading literary fiction isn't high on my priority list" than to say "it's all about English professors cheating on their wives."

A Peach Like You - sequel to Peaches ain't Pretty

Peter Parker never considered himself special. Maybe, yeah, having radioactive blood and spider-like abilities makes him different and his vigilante career is out of the norm and fine, yeah, he's on the autism spectrum. Call that "special" if you want. But under all that, he's a regular college student juggling three jobs, an internship, a sad mockery of a social life, and saving the city day and night. Chapter 1: I’m an only child and I’m desperate for attention

Peter’s web-line, tangled desperately between numb fingers, holds as he slams into glass. Air punches from his lungs, but the pane stays intact. He fumbles for his footing, slipping in the smears of scarlet left from his meeting with the window, then begins the slow miserable climb to the ninth floor. His abdomen burns. His head pounds.

He’s not going to pass out. He’s not going to pass out. He’s…

He’s so fired. The pizzas he was supposed to deliver are long gone by now, whether he can remember where he stashed them or not. His boss is going to be furious with him for flaking on his deliveries again. He may have attempted the tried and true ‘It’s not my fault, Mr. Leonetti, I was mugged,’ routine if it wasn’t for all of the cell phones that recorded Spider-Man getting stabbed not two doors down from the pizza shop. He can’t risk anyone making the connection between Spider-Man and Peter Parker.

What was he supposed to do? Not drop everything and strip down to his suit to stop the bodega from being robbed? Not web the clerk out of the way of the stray bullet? Not take the lucky stab between his ribs during his distraction?

Actually, he could have done without that last one. Ned has enough on his plate without having his mess of a childhood best friend slithering through his window every other day with life-threatening injuries.

He breathes a sigh of relief as his fingers curl over Ned’s window sill. His Friend of Spider-Man sense must be tingling because it’s wide open. A strange choice for February, but you won’t hear him whining about his unprecedented change in luck.

He pushes the screen until it pops free of the frame then rolls into the apartment. He lands with a thud on gray carpet and groans as the impact aggravates his stab wound. It’s not until the haze of pain clears enough to see the unfamiliar light fixture above him that he considers how unlike Ned it is to have the window open on a day that’s threatening snow.

Ned hates winter. He hates leaving the window open even a crack and often compromises by stuffing a towel in the crack to keep the draft out because, as much as he hates winter, he loves his best friend more.

As he blinks at the rest of the room, dazed from blood loss, he slowly puts together that this is not Ned’s apartment. It smells wrong for one thing. Like burnt bread and blood (the latter of which, yes, he realizes is his fault), but also there’s a distinct lack of life in this place that’s so contradictory to Ned’s merch and memorabilia-stuffed apartment that for a moment he thinks maybe this one is vacant. No shoes by the door. No pillows on the couch. No DVDs next to the TV. No takeout containers. No books. Nothing.

Other than a mason jar that’s half-filled with odd little trinkets on an otherwise barren bookshelf, the place is lifeless.

Well, nearly lifeless.

In the same moment he decides he ought to haul his broken body out the window and try for the correct window, a tall blond someone wearing a knit sweater and jeans that have been worn soft over time steps into the room waving a towel at the smoke lingering near the ceiling.

The man freezes as they lock eyes.

Oh, mother fudger.

I love the absolute zero positive emotions anyone in the fandom has towards Gavilar. Like there are people who really fucking hate Moash but there are a ton of people who love him too (especially on tumblr). All the wlw on my dash wanna get with Raboniel. There are characters that have never done anything positive ever like Sadeas, but at least he’s fun to hate. Gavilar though? Nobody gives a shit about him. The people who have even a smidgeon of opinion about him are like god damn i hate the way he treated Navani and then move on. Kholins ranked by their willingness and ability to carry my groceries on the long walk from the bus stop to my apartment

Gavilar: would carry my groceries but only because he views me as weak and beneath him. He is doing this to exert power and to flex. 6/10

Navani: would take half of my groceries because “it’s fair that way” but my half would be the half with a gallon of milk in it. Fuck off. 4/10.

Dalinar: depends on the era. Blackthorn era Dalinar would carry my groceries to show off his sick muscles. Bondsmith era Dalinar would carry my groceries because the way of kings probably has a parable about Nohadon carrying groceries to Urithiru or some shit. At any rate, he’s carrying my groceries. 10/10

what is the zellion sweep. i have no clue what it is. help

lets set the scene. its october 2022. tensions are high in the fandom due to a maelstrom of events. we are all at our wits end. i, personally, am going through one of the worst periods of my whole life for non cosmere reasons. we're all tired. we're fucking exausted

and then. i get an email. from the kickstarter. theres one more stretch goal left to reveal. i wonder who it is? kelsier? evi? elhokar? then i read the email. "brandon said "let's add zellion." we are proud to announce our final miniature will be zellion!"

who. the fresh fuck. is zellion.

i am at my wits end, and so is alanamy the-tumblr-user-formerly-known-as-moash, currently tumblr user zellionsweep. they make some silly posts about who the fuck is zellion. i also make some posts like who the fuck is zellion. alanamy zellionsweep tags these posts #ZELLIONSWEEP as a reference to the #MORBIUSSWEEP meme from a few months back.

from there, the lore begins. i make silly posts about zellion's unrequited love for szeth. i make a post claiming that he and dalinar were once lovers. others assert that he has no bitches, he gets no pussy, he receives no cock. he is bisexual. he is biphobic. he is a menace. he's dating moash now. he's secretly kelsier, no, evi, no, aesudan, no, fused dalinar. he's like the wind, he's everywhere and nowhere. nonsensical headcanons are posted under the hashtag #zellionsweep. tumblr user kaladins-simp-list begins compiling a list of all the zellion lore. it is very inconsistent. we all have our own unique interpretations of the character.

zellionsweep escapes containment and ends up on r/cremposting. i find out how many of my tumblr mutuals have reddit accounts. people start flying dangerously close to post limit. we are fucking insane. we needed this. after weeks and weeks of moashcourse and syladin and mistborn era 2 discussion and the ever looming threat of cosmere adaptations and stress and frustration, we finally get to let loose and clown on brand sand for the stupidest decision he has ever made, which is entrusting us with a brand new guy and not telling us anything about him and expecting everyone to be normal about it.

I just know that in a modern au Dalinar sends Kaladin inspirational quote graphics from Facebook because he knows Kaladin has depression and he always sends them with a caption like “Thought of you………… made me smile. 🙂 Life Before Death Soldier………….” and Kaladin thinks it’s genuinely sweet even if the corny quotes do not offer him any solace but the SECOND Adolin finds out about it he’s like. Kaladin you HAVE to send me all of these this is the funniest shit ever
