Where comes the idea that Kirby "needs adult guidance?" When has Kirby been shown to ever need guidance by anybody outside of the extraordinary circumstances of Rainbow Curse and Mass Attack?

Kirby is always the one doing the guiding. He's at the head of the party. He also isn't native to Dream Land and we're left to assume he cared for himself perfectly fine before arriving there in DL1.

(Let's not be so quick to remove "traveling" from "traveling youth." Remember that the travels Kirby have been on are inter-planetary ones. This isn't the anime where he was a sleeping infant. The series tells us he's been on galactic adventures before arriving on Popstar.)

Kirby IS a childish character, of that there is no doubt. They are quite likely to be a childish child! But Kirby is no one's dependant.

Kirby is perfectly capable of surviving alone, on their own, in situations that have toppled kingdoms. He can also logic out what is going around him with only loose context. In fact, he picks up on complex situations like Susie's and Taranzas really fast.

Kirby can be young. How young is up to each individual person. If it's your HC or you want to write familial relationships with him and the cast, by all means, write him as whatever is cutest/most fulfilling!

But for the series in a general sense? The evidence of Kirby needing other's supervision, protection, and guidance isn't there.

Okay! My main headcanons for Sig are:

He uses he/she/it pronouns, but mainly he/she!

He's a bioengineering dork.

She's a specialized medical facility!

She doesn't really care much about the great problem, and thus has a lot of hobbies. He knitted her own scarf!

She has a lot of friends, even outside of the local group. He's incredibly close with Chasing Wind.

He's a mid-gen iterator, (Ages being: LTTM, SRS, SOS, CW, NSH, UI, FP), so his emotional AI is a lot more advanced than Suns' (there's quite a gap between the two, Suns is closer to Moon in terms of age).

She considers Hunter to be her daughter, Hunter calls him her dadmom and Moon her mom.

He tends to bury these emotions down for the sake of others, which leads to...bad situations.

She's terrified of being alone :)

Sig just gives me gender fucky-wucky vibes. Her pronouns are the/bit and he's committed to it. There's not really a basis for this in canon but it just fits his personality of being pretty laid back and goofy when not in um. emotional distress. Also the accessorizing to his puppet (ie the scarf) makes me think he likes to experiment with her appearance and presentation. To add on to this in the streamer au she goes by any pronouns and is pretty androgynous, so none of his followers can tell his AGAB, and its funny to him to watch the chat argue about it. (He's AFAB, tbh I can't see her as anything else). No one can guess his sexuality either, the only "confirmed" thing seems to be polyamourous, but other than that it's "whatever makes it gay", or "whatever pisses you off most".

Sig obviously has a knack for bioengineering, as he was the one who started investigating the idea of using purposed messengers to stay in contact with others once the comms degraded, not to mention the creation of the slag reset keys. Yes this is my incoming rant of "Sig is not bad at making slugcats", since sometimes people tend to act like "Sig didn't follow Suns' instructions" or something like that, and that's why Hunter is sick. There are MULTIPLE points in their conversations where it's outright stated that Sig was the one who did it first:

Sig was the one who showed Suns the process:

SRS: I purposed a messenger, and sent the information by land via a data pearl. NSH: How original of you. SRS: I learned from the best.

Sig clearly has experiences with messengers, and Spearmaster happens before Sig begins working on Hunter:

NSH: I feel like I need to be simplifying my speech patterns. Is that something you do when conversing with your messenger?

SUNS SAYS "ANOTHER" MESSENGER, AND THEN LATER SIG SAYS "ANOTHER MESSENGER" AS WELL. SIG HAS MADE MESSENGERS BEFORE:

SRS: Do you suppose you'll ever raise another messenger?

NSH: I'm tempted to start work on raising another messenger as a last ditch effort, but to be honest I don't think there is any point.

And then, in her reply, she says, "*I* started investigating the method".

NSH: If the need arises, I certainly would. After all, I started investigating the method out of the inevitability of our situation.

And just to nail it down that Sig was the one who purposed them first, the gossip between Wandering Omen and Pleading Intellect:

PI: You haven't heard about what No Significant Harassment did? WO: All I heard was the complaining. Didn't he send an iterator something distasteful? PI: Well, yes, but more importantly, he trained a purposed organism to deliver it!

WO: How do you even get a dull creature such as that to follow orders? I may consider asking him to teach me his ways.

So yes, Sig was the one to purpose the messengers first. She had already made at least one in the past, to send the "distasteful message" to someone. I'd honestly say he probably made more between that/before, to test the efficacy and also just to mess around with the process.

This leads into my next headcanon: Sig was a specialized medical facility! Five Pebbles mentions to Hunter that "I was not a medical facility even when the equipment was functioning," so I believe that there were some more specialized iterators built. Sig's knowledge of bioengineering could be an indication of this specialization, not to mention it fits with him not really caring about the great problem to the same degree as everyone else. Purely headcanon after this point, but when Sig was first built, Moon was very nervous about getting a new model of "specialized" iterator that she wouldn't be able to help train as well! Moon was a more generalized iterator as she was older, so she does have knowledge about medicine and bioengineering, as all iterators did for the health and growth of her city, but nothing to the degree Sig would need. Thankfully, iterators are fucking supercomputers, so its not like Sig needed much "training" in the way of that, but still. Moon wanted to be a good mentor to her! And she very much was, considering how Sig turned out. That's why they ended up so close.

After the mass ascension, he became the resident "doctor" of the local group. Pointing back to the slag reset keys, Sig seems to have shoved as many as he could into that thing, since Pebbles reacts to the amount of them with surprise, so he knows his way around iterator biology. In pure headcanon mode now, when they develop my tangible projections thing (which Sig and Moon were heavily involved in), it meant that she could actually help others by preforming repairs on their puppets, and even their structures by sending her overseer into them. Moon's inspectors enjoy head pats from her whenever he's passing by.

Her being a medical facility also means she doesn't give as much thought to finding the Triple Affirmative as others. His processing power was delegated more towards finding cures, aiding the sick, and engineering better production techniques for medical equipment and such. His city is also highly accessible and optimized for the disabled and elderly. When you're a medical facility, your goal is more to keep people alive than perma-kill them! I mostly get this headcanon from the fact that when Suns is faced with "what to do" other than solve the great problem, they respond with "What else CAN we do? You're stuck in your can, and at any moment you have no more than two alternatives: Do nothing, or work like you're supposed to.". Meanwhile, Sig responds to Suns' question about purposing another messenger with "There's nothing better for me to do with my time, though.". Not to mention, he was already purposing messengers before this, so she certainly wasn't dedicating all of her time to iterating the great problem! Of course, he probably did iterate on it, just not to the degree his peers did. He also jokes about it in that broadcast where Wind is telling everyone about erratic pulse, saying "Haha with the slimers, lizards and etceteras? Surely the answer was in a lizard skull all along!" so it really seems like he doesn't take it very seriously.

Her disinterest in solving the problem led to her developing a wide range of hobbies. He's an iterator after all, they probably get horrifically bored if they're not doing something! She taught herself to knit (telling his citizens it helped her focus so they would provide her with needles and yarn), and eventually learns to make garments as well. I headcanon he plays video games too, especially with Chasing Wind, mostly just because she probably wanted to see if an iterator could run Doom for the lolz. Probably also trolls in the group chats sometimes, considering the "distasteful pearl", and I think her being being NGI ("No Great Ideas") would be funny as hell. This also makes it pretty obvious why I made the streamer au, Sig's a top level player for multiple FPS games and has won some pretty prestigious awards in esports tournaments. And then she goes home and plays Hollow Knight randomizers with Pebbles in a maid outfit.

Sig's personality also lent itself to having a lot of friends. Her and Chasing Wind were built less than 50 cycles apart (Wind is older), so they're practically attached at the hip. Wind isn't in her local group (He's in Sliver's), but they're still very close. It's not really explored much in canon since we really only see her interact with Suns for the most part, but given her personality, I don't think it'd be a far off assumption for him to have lots of friends. Because she's younger, she also has a more sophisticated emotional AI...which can be detrimental at times, but is helpful when it comes to maintaining friendships!

AHAH So here comes the um. SAD portion of the rant lol. I feel like Sig buries her emotions down a lot, for the sake of others. In her conversations with Suns, we do see him get snappy with him, but for the most part he remains either calm or sympathetic, at the most a bit pessimistic towards the end. When she finally does call Suns out for their bullshit, he (presumably) stops replying to Suns for a short time before apologizing and continuing to talk to them.

SRS: I'm in noticing you are becoming more defensive. This obviously wasn't the end result I was aiming for, you know. SRS: Please respond to my messages. I don't want to leave it like this. I need someone to talk to. NSH: I don't mean to be cold, I'm just very worried.

After this interaction, Sig seems to either just reply with facts/possibly explanations for Moon/Pebbles' actions, or completely changing the subject to Suns' messenger, which then leads to the broadcast where Suns is telling her all the ways they modified their messenger to sneak past Sig's overseers, by not giving them the mark and hiding the pearl, we see Sig's replies become very short, single sentence answers.

This to me reads as slightly passive aggressive, but Suns doesn't seem to pick up on it. To be honest I in my head I hear this as Sig hissing this shit through clenched teeth if he could, but it's just text so I suppose we'll never know.

Additionally, he still does let his emotions overwhelm her at points, (such as during the "Your plan was a complete failure" broadcast), but the most blatant is probably in the messages she sends to Moon and Pebbles.

Starting with the Pebbles one:

NSH: Five Pebbles, I will say once again. You need to stop. Immediately. NSH: I know you are going to trash this message like the rest, but... NSH: I hope eventually when you are out of this state of mind you will look back at these. NSH: Look back and reflect on all the regrets you've set yourself up to have.

Sig is angry. Like he shows no sympathy for him, and just hopes he wallows in regret for the rest of his life. She does express his dislike of Pebbles while talking to Suns as well, but manages to still be nice by saying "I think a lot of us were like that in the beginning.", and such, and then drops the subject by the next broadcast by talking about Suns' messenger. He only ever talks about Moon's condition, likely to keep himself from being a dick about Pebbles in front of Suns because talking directly about him is obviously pretty touchy. But this broadcast is straight up mean. She doesn't manage to hold back her emotions but to be honest? I don't think he actually cares, if he burns that bridge with Pebbles then fine, because Pebbles burned it first.

Pebbles took away one of the few friends he still had in this dying world.

I really and truly believe that Sig's biggest fear is being alone. She makes the slugcats as a way to keep in contact with others after the comms arrays degrade. After being snappy with Suns, she immediately backtracks, apologizes, and keeps talking to them, even if it hurts. His messages to Moon also emphasize this:

NSH: Moon? Moon, are you able to communicate?

NSH: Moon? It's me again.

NSH: I need to talk to you. I need to know you're okay.

The fact that we are provided two of these broadcasts and not just one seems to point to the idea that these are not the only two Sig sent. "It's me again." There is more desperation in her tone compared to the messages he shares with Suns, possibly because he's more comfortable expressing his profound distress with Moon because they're closer. A part of me headcanons she...never stopped sending messages. He needs to know she's okay. You can even find a green overseer in outer expanse and subterranean, locked out of the facility but still searching, still looking for any sign of Moon...or Hunter.

When Sig sends Hunter to Moon, the pearl he sends is goofy and lighthearted. He doesn't want to bring her down when she's already suffering enough. It's short, and sweet, because anything longer would probably devolve into something unpleasant. She's holding the words on that pearl together with tape and glue. Once again, hiding the pure grief he feels for the sake of others.

I also think that's why Hunter is sick. Once again, pure headcanon, but Sig mentions this on the pearl:

Excuse the unorthodox delivery method, equipment eroding etc etc.

I kinda interpret this as Sig pushing herself too hard to make Hunter in time to save Moon, and in turn, irreversibly damaging himself in the process. An emergency shutdown occurred after he ignores the 50th pressure warning his systems desperately tried to get her to pay attention to, causing Hunter to become sick thanks to the sudden disruption in his concentration, much like Pebbles and the rot. This is also why no other messengers were sent after this, Sig simply couldn't make any more that were healthy. She loved Hunter, and I fully believe that, as Hunter's last vision in the void sea was to return to his arms. Continuing the pure headcanons now, but he treats Hunter like a daughter and knits her a scarf for her journey. She tells Hunter that Moon is her mom. She gives Hunter a name, which were held in very high regard in ancient culture, a gift so she can at least be remembered for her sacrifice: "Hunting the Stars, Moon's Savior."

All and all, Sig is desperately trying to delay the inevitable, watching the walls of loneliness close in as she loses contact with friends, slowly encroaching on her until he's locked up in a box. Alone.

HOWEVER!

I for one, absolutely adore the goofy, flirty personality the fandom gives Sig. I really do believe when he isn't in extreme emotional distress, she is like that. The motherfucker uses tildes in his texts and teases Suns and makes jokes about slimers and lizards. I just like peeling apart the little snippets we see of him, which are mostly at pretty low moments unfortunately, and just seeing what I can extrapolate from that. Even if some of my headcanons are far-fetched and shit, I do at least try to keep most of them at least slightly in character with some explanation.

I hope you enjoyed my unhinged rant about my favorite guy!!!! I put this in google docs and its literally like, 2.4k words, I could genuinely have turned this in to one of my fucking college courses LMFAO. what should i affirm for respawning?

Doing the asks a lil out of order, sorry this took so long btw!

Before I start, I’m going to quickly clarify the difference between respawning and permashifting, just to make sure you make the best choice! (Affs and advice included at the end.) :>

To quickly remind everyone:

Respawning is shifting and scripting that you completely forget your OR/CR. It is completely cutting ties with your original reality, and is irreversible. IT DOES NOT MEAN DYING IN THIS REALITY!!! A version of you will still remain behind, so absolutely DO NOT give up on life here, or make plans to end your own life! It will not, in any way, help to do that. /srs

(I urgently repeat, do not attempt to hurt yourself or take your own life just because you’re desperate to shift. Dying is a long-term solution to temporary problems, and will only forward pain onto those around you, as well as those you care about. Respawning is not about that. Dying is not part of respawning. Self-harm of any kind is not part of respawning. It will not help. Please, take care of yourselves and stay safe.)

Permashifting is shifting and simply not coming back. You still remember your OR/CR perfectly well, but you just willingly don’t come back. This decision is reversible, should you so choose to come back, someday.

So Respawning is permanent, and Permashifting is reversible!

Now that that’s cleared up, affirmations for respawning, permashifting, and regular shifting are generally pretty similar.

Any normal affirmations will work, such as “I am shifting”/”I have shifted”/”I am my desired self”/etc etc. That said, there are specific subliminals for respawning which you might find particularly useful! Since it’s such a big decision, I’d recommend ‘shopping around’ a bit on youtube to find some good, reliable sources (should you choose to use them), such as channels like Slade, Kween Subs, and mxrahki. :>

Something that could also help (and that helps in general with shifting) is affirming things specific to your DR self, but as if they’re already true and present in your reality surrounding you. Examples could include affirming your DR self’s name (like saying “My name is XYZ”) or where you live, as well as where you intend to wake up.

If you’re looking for basic affirmations, though, a good list would include smth along the lines of:

I am in my desired reality. I have respawned into my desired reality. I am pure consciousness. I am choosing to experience my desired reality. I am a master shifter. Shifting is as simple as breathing. I shift often.

Alternatively, some people find it easier to phrase the affirmations like questions! This is also an option to try out, if you believe it could help! Those would go more along the lines of:

Why is shifting so easy for me? Why can’t I stop shifting? Why do I shift every time I try? Why do I always shift on the first try? Why do I shift so often? How am I this good at shifting?

TLDR: Shifting affirmations between respawning, permashifting, and normal shifting aren't all that different, as it's still the same process, just with a slightly different end result.

Shifting is also super personal, so experiment and see what works best for you! Hopefully that made some sense?? I'm a little tired, but happy to upload something for you all! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send another ask! :3c

mm Megamind my beloved but I talk about the sequel (don't worry I'm not ruthlessly shitting on it /srs)

I wanted to come out here and post something to say a couple things from my perspective. Personally I'm disappointed with Megamind vs the Doom Syndicate. As a kid Megamind was one of my favorite movies and I wanted a sequel for it, so when I saw the movie we got I was rather disappointed. I generally don't enjoy it, but there are some moments I enjoy about the movie, such as when the city was put backwards, I thought it was funny. Not to mention it does have interesting concepts, the idea of Roxanne trying to find something besides being a News Reporter could work.

I can see where some fans are coming from on liking the movie. Since the movie isn't a theatrical release and doesn't line up with the canon it does fit as an Alternate Universe. Seeing it from that perspective has changed my opinion on it. I'm still disappointed by the movie, especially with Dreamworks and others calling it Megamind 2, but seeing it as an Alternate Universe has made me like it a bit more.

I do plan on at some point working on my own as a fanfiction. Just out of passion for the original movie, and the potential that could come from it. I have some base concepts floating around, as well as other projects I'm trying to focus on, so I'm not entirely sure yet if it will come to be.

If you are a fan of the show and new movie, and you are reading this, I can get where you're coming from. I might rewatch Megamind vs the Doom Syndicate to give it another chance, I don't know if I'll watch Megamind Rules though. I'm glad some people can find enjoyment in Megamind vs the Doom Syndicate and the show even if I can't :)

Maybe one day we will get a theatrical sequel to Megamind, but I wouldn't count on it. sorry it took so long to answer! actually i had a similar conversation with my mutual not so long ago so i'll just copy my discord messages if it's okay with you lol... i don't know what else to add. at first i wanted to write a separate answer to your question but i guess there's no point in repeating myself in slightly different words also sorry to any marxists who get to read this. my understanding of politics is still far from confident but i try to educate myself as much as i can. omg i'm by no means an authority but i really appreciate it!! hmm but what are you interested in exactly? i think i've covered my headcanons on arcade's mom pretty well in one of my comics but his dad's still a bit mystical figure to me. but i have a couple of headcanons based on info from the ttrpg fallout game where arcade was josh sawyer's player character. like, i headcanon his name as mark because it was his name in the ttrpg (and i feel like some people do that too) and it seems that he knew some latin or at least a couple of latin phrases (and maybe mark even was the reason why arcade learned latin later, that and his medical education). and since cannibal johnson says that arcade reminds him of gannon sr. i feel like he was a pretty educated person too. and it may be a bit weird/hard to explain/very post-soviet of me and i'm not sure if it's even a thing in other countries/regions but i've always read gannons (or at least mrs gannon) as "intelligentsia" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelligentsia). basically, a social class of the "minds" of the state who were privileged enough to get good education and, therefore, important positions in the state, primarily in science/arts/education (it's not a separate class actually, they mostly were bourgeoisie/petite bourgeoisie or on the border with the working class). education was almost inherited in such families because "intelligents" gravitated towards each other and subconsciously taught their kids the same ideals/automatically gave them some of their cultural capital. so yeah, it was pretty elitist in its core but intelligentsia was generally very politically conscious (because they had opportunities to learn in-depth theoretical politics and not only the propaganda for the working class). i obviously oversimplify it and all of this was much much more nuanced and complex, but i hope it still makes some sense and we have very tragic associations with intelligentsia here because when the soviet regime started to shoot itself in the leg intelligentsia was the first to leave the country/be imprisoned/executed/repressed in many other ways. because, again, they were educated enough to critique the state in "dangerous" ways (and many intellectuals helped to shape the communist revolution in the beginning so their importance was originally in this ability to provide state criticism). i know that the enclave is nothing like the ussr in terms of their politics and roots but i feel like similar social classes form in other secluded states too (and something similar even happened to veronica in the brotherhood so. yeah). and i feel like the enclave went through the same process of staling within itself due to lack of contact with the outside world soooo its policies became more and more right-wing with time. and gannons were somewhat oppositional even before mark's death and mrs gannon's parting with the enclave. like, we know that cannibal johnson was openly anti-enclave and even sabotaged his missions. and also cannibal johnson says the nicest things about arcade's father so i think that they had to share political views at least in some way. but mark gannon has to be much more complex than this, not all sugar and candy of course. i feel like he went through a "going anti-state" arc and was much more right-wing in the beginning of his military career and before meeting his wife (also i headcanon her name as daniela because "daniel" was originally arcade's middle name) sorry for the wall of text!!! i can elaborate on anything (also lol. it reads as very anti-communist but i didn't intend it that way. i'm an anarcho-communist myself but i think it's important to talk about war crimes of any failed regime, especially the one you want to work properly in the future)

yes same!! honestly i don't think arcade remembers him well. because everything arcade says sounds more like something other people told arcade?? and in my headcanon he internalized his mother's and other remnants' sentiments and opinions to a point of having fake memories about his dad (but i think it was mostly the remnants who formed this conflict, i see his mother as a silent and a bit avoidant type because she never told him what happened to mr gannon). i still can't figure out my own timeline for arcade's childhood but i thiiiink they left navarro when he was around 5-6 years old cuz arcade says in one of his quotes that he had to hide his association with the enclave for 30 years. plus i believe that he said something about moreno living half of his life on the wastelands already but still grieving the enclave

i think mark was mostly busy with missions to spend any time with arcade. but i don't see him as a particularly bad father, just a busy kind

like, maybe they've had so little time together that arcade remembered some moments very vividly but overthinked them? sometimes memories become foggy because you spin them in your head for too long. for some reason i feel like this happened to almost every arcade's memory of mark

1: The Sappy Bit Where I Say Thank You

As I've alluded to before, writing THD was a new experience in a lot of ways: it's my first and (currently) only fanfic, but also the first time I've written a character study or anything with such a focus on hurt/comfort and interpersonal relationships. It's also the first time I've written something that has a real audience — I come from the wilds of writing plotty fantasy/sci-fi original fic — and posting something that I knew would probably get some kind of reception was both exciting and terrifying. I appreciate everyone who has read, kudos'd, commented on, sent asks about, or otherwise interacted with the fic so much; you've all been lovely and I hope you enjoyed reading THD as much as I enjoyed writing it.

2: Flightless Birds (aka the Fluffy Sequel)

Flightless Birds, the second fic in the series Symbiosis, is set during the off-season between season 1 and season 2. Here's an overview of the main character arcs/plot threads (no spoilers for chapter 6):

Jamie: our boy is going through it slightly less than in part 1! With the James Tartt Sr. situation resolved, he spends the fic processing his trauma without the looming specter of his father's reappearance, which basically takes the form of 1) therapy, 2) looking after Roy post-injury, 3) extensive platonic cuddling (fun fact: I hadn't really written any cuddling scenes before THD and am not at all a cuddler in real life, so hopefully those bits are like. at least somewhat plausible), and 4) visiting his mom and Simon.

Roy: our boy is going through it slightly more than in part 1! (sorry, Roy) Like in canon, he's recovering physically from his knee injury and processing the end of his career, which is not great for those underlying self-worth issues. In addition to experiencing the mortifying ordeal of letting himself be cared for, he's also experiencing the mortifying (and for him, more upsetting) ordeal of not being able to care for others the way he wants to — the worst of his physical recovery coincides with the point where Jamie's very shaken and vulnerable from the events of chapter 6, and he basically has to contend with the fact that he not only needs to expand his own support network but that he can't be the entirety of Jamie's support network.

Keeley: our girl has been upgraded to main character! She moves in with Roy — and by extension, Jamie — and, as the only one of the three who's not freshly injured and/or traumatized, initially ends up with a lot of the caretaking work. This is a problem because a) Keeley needs her space and has trouble expressing her needs at the best of times, and b) doesn't strike me as someone who has a particular inclination towards what I guess I'd call protracted caretaking — she can be really good at comforting people in the moment, but I think she panics a bit when it's a more serious situation that she doesn't know how to solve (like with Jamie's depressive spiral in 3x11) and prefers relationships — both romantic and platonic — where there's a decent degree of autonomy: everyone likes spending time together, but they can all also do their own thing. This is part of the catalyst for the aforementioned expanding of support networks.

A note on relationships: Roy and Keeley are technically dating but I'm very aromantic and have like. sub-zero interest in or knowledge of how to write romantic relationships, so in a reverse-shipper move, I'm going to write it as platonic. Whether or not the fact that I've hit everyone with the aro beam will be discussed in-text remains to be seen.

3: Side Stories

There are some POVs and events that happened off-screen and/or during the time skips that didn't make it into THD for a variety of reasons. I have vague plans to turn some of these into fics, such as: Ted's POV of the first couple of chapters before he became a main character; Nate's extremely complex feelings about the intersection of his and Jamie's trauma, his relationship with Ted, and the evolution of AFC Richmond that I couldn't figure out how to include in the main fic without making the whole thing feel a bit unfocused; and Jamie's probationary period with the team during the time skip between chapters 2 and 3. If there's anything you'd like me to write about in this universe, feel free to make a request!

ngl I'm curious about your ideas for Venture and spaceranger. I saw a theory SR could be Fio from Blackwatch and I think Venture could be our Portuguese hero, maybe has a build (turret, wall, etc) made of duravidro. Still hoping for heroes 42 to 45 being Lynx 17, Maximilien, a Roman champion fighter, and an Afro-American New York firefighter.

Okay lot of parts to this one to answer

Starting with Venture, here's their art for reference:

Now, with their pretty apparent explorer/excavation-themed design, with giant drill and what looks like climbing/excavation gear on their back, my first thought for what map they tie into is actually Petra, the deathmatch map set in Southern Jordan's wonder of the world. The map is littered with details alluding to an ongoing excavation project, so I think Venture could be part of that team. Plus, I think the slightly darker skin tone could possibly fit an Arabic character.

While I can't make it out with just this little image, I think the insignia on this sleeve could be the key to figuring out this character's faction.

As for kit, I don't really have any great ideas yet. While their drill at first appears to be a melee weapon, letting you just drill into people for rapid close-range damage, but I feel like it could have some kind of surprise projectile component.

In addition to me thinking they're from Jordan and not Portugal, I also doubt they're a "builder" character due to those being an ongoing struggle to balance in the Damage role. My belief for what Esperanca is alluding to is still a Tank hero that we won't be seeing for a while. Considering how long it takes heroes to be developed (note Mauga was just revealed today after being first teased in 2019), I think something as relatively recent as Esperanca won't lead to something new so "soon".

(I actually have a character for my original hero/class shooter project War Bots who uses a drill in a couple ways, and they are actually a builder character who uses it to build buildings and also tunnel underground to move around safely. They deserve their own post soon though.)

As a reminder, we are due to see some early gameplay footage of Venture tomorrow in the "Overwatch 2: What's Next" segment of Blizzcon tomorrow at 1:30 PM PST (so 4:30 for me in the EST), so we won't have to wait long to see some of how they play!

Going from underground to out of this world, let's talk about "Space Ranger" next!

(I gotta say it if I haven't already that I love both of these designs, even if they're still certainly still concept art and might actually change a fair bit before release, especially in the case of Star Command here releasing all the way in the far off galaxy of Season 12. Still, very cute, love the colors and overall vibe, big fan.)

So starting off with the theory you saw, the idea that this is Fio, the Blackwatch pilot from Retribution, certainly is... interesting, certainly an idea with precedent if Sojourn is anything to go by. I didn't remember what they looked like so I checked the wiki and...

...Yeah no these are completely different people, sorry. Fio has what looks to be red hair underneath the helmet and... I wanna say a European face? Ranger meanwhile has the dang Twilight Sparkle hair, and her face strikes me more like how East Asian characters tend to look in Overwatch's art style, like D.va and Kiriko with their slightly more "anime-esque" faces. Not to say I wouldn't welcome Fio to the roster (even though they'd be. Far, Far from my first pick for an established character to join the roster), but this definitely ain't them.

As for who I do think this could be, or rather what characters they're related to, I think between possibly being Asian and also being more obviously space-themed, I think they could very likely be affiliated with Lucheng Interstellar, the Chinese aerospace company behind Horizon Lunar Colony. According to the wiki, they also have other space station projects they are/were working on, so Space Ranger could be related to either of those.

As for kit, I don't have much to say for them either. Some neat ideas I saw were that they could be another hyper-mobile support like Mercy or Lucio, and could possibly even have some sort of gravity-manipulating buff. I really don't have much to say yet, but there's plenty of room for cool ideas!

Speaking of cool ideas, lemme take a sec to go over all yours!

Lynx 17 is definitely a popular pick I can get behind, between their fun design and the capacity for a support hacker-themed character. My Sombra Role Requeue was just one way to take the concept, I feel like there's even more room to start from the ground up! Though I do also wanna shoutout Franky, a character from the Deadlock Rebels novel that was essentially the other main founding member of the gang along with Cassidy and Ashe (and B.O.B. too, of course), who's also a hacker. I don't blame people for giving Lynx 17 higher priority, both due to being around longer and also being another cool Omnic, as well as being canonically non binary already. I would like to see a human NB character sooner than later, (hence why I've been referring to Venture and SR gender-neutrally this whole post) but Lynx still slaps so I'd be happy to see them too.

Maximilien is I think probably the most notable lore character that's yet to be playable now that we've finally got our greasy mitts on Mauga. Another fun established design and personality who's been around the story even longer than Mauga actually. Shoot, we've even seen the bastard in one of the story trailers, with Doomfist implying that he's got a job to do that the greedy omnic seems uncomfortable with. That could easily mean he has to get his hands dirty when he doesn't want to, so... could be teasing him being playable? My main objection to his inclusion on the roster is that I don't have a great idea for what exactly he'd... do. He's basically a cowardly civilian who just happens to be bankrolling a terrorist organization. This could definitely work into his kit, making him a support who sucks in direct fights but has ways of backing up allies. The one solid ability idea I got for him though is that his gun would be a silenced pistol. that's it. Now obviously some creativity on the hero design team's part could fix that issue, but still, it's something to consider.

Now for the characters who aren't as established, a roman gladiator is another one that's been tossed around a lot since the map was first revealed. Like I said with a character teased by the Portugal map though, OW heroes take a long time to develop, and they're still catching up on established characters like Mauga, so the teasers from OW2's new maps could take a WHILE to get to at this rate. Which isn't shocking really, they wanna keep Overwatch going for a while and I personally can get behind that, so I understand them setting up so many teasers they can follow up on later. As for the gladiator specifically, this idea still hasn't actually excited me that much. I struggle right now to think about what could make one of the mech gladiators unique from the tanks we already have on the roster. A melee weapon and shield? Reinhardt. A spear? Orisa. Again, creativity solves a lot of problems, but it's why I've never been that excited for this idea since Colosseo was first revealed.

That last idea though, THAT has me interested.

I've honestly never heard that idea before! It's so cool too, a firefighter would have such a fun pool of ideas to work from. Overwatch doesn't really have any water-themed heroes, and as far as I'm aware the team hasn't considered it aside from one rejected concept for what eventually became Lifeweaver. I'm honestly not even sure what role would fit a firefighter better, because the bulky outfits and some kind of water pushing ability would fit Tank, but the whole "life saving" part could fit Support better. This is such a cool idea, I'd honestly love to hear you elaborate on it more!

So yeah, wanted to give a thorough response talking about all of these future heroes, confirmed and otherwise. I'll almost certainly have more to say tomorrow when they talk about the two new faces, but that's for 20 hours from now. Thanks for the ask though, fun to talk about all this!

I've always been a bitch about the media I choose to let into my life but when it comes to why I still "play FGO" (see: log in every once in a while, say hi to my fambly and try to go through story chapters) ... its really just trying to get through the main story at this point. Like I do want to see whatever FGO is trying to do but also, I skip events like CCRAAAZZYYYY, I skipped that Samurai Remnant event and my mentee hates it too because they fumbled Chiemon's story & also I can't lie I just think its corny and nothingburger from what I've read of it, I care so little abt it... I skipped the summer events after being disappointed with the story, skipped the Wandijna event because it was culturally insensitive, rushed to finish Traum so I could do the Christmas event because I wanted Santa Nemo and the story seemed like it was pretty good there, obviously I played the Ptolemy event and I played the Beast Nero event...

the thing for me is really whether or not I feel like it ties into something I'm already interested in, obviously, and being late to the party with SR and not finding a lot that hooks me in there leaves me wondering like Why should I even be interested anyways; there's also the fact that as an English speaking fan half of the time you have to wait for translations but Also CCC just got TL'd so there's that added to the thing you have to read/play, also it just seems like.... Lasengle is fumbling the bag rn super hard, FGO needs to be console release ready at some point in the future because there's no way they're devoting all this time and work and effort to such a large installment of the series with it simply being a mobile game,

No sorry theres a new Rose writing this post now. I had to do like 2 switches while doing something else I just read the rest of this. The problem is that FGO loves not tying up loose ends. We're at the later stages of the game. Beast Nero tied up some loose ends that we've had suspicions of since F/Extra. So it was a good event and on top of it, it also added some character and resolution to the idea of a Beast, and why Beasts are summonable, and who Beasts are as spiritual origins. Santa Nemo added some extra character development to Nemo and that team and that was some well-needed warmth during the "wtf is going on" of our current storyline. The Ptolemy story also wrapped up a lot of questions about those who survived the War of the Diadochi, how they felt about that war, and how they regretted that dream but still could not dismiss it, it was an interesting story about those ideas and Theseus and the Minotaur I thought was an extremely EXTREMELY awesome story beat showing that Theseus and Asterios were not on bad terms; even if the big bad thing was kind of eehhh I still would give it a solid 8/10 plus that fight dynamic at the end was cool.

FGO needs to stop adding new shit! That's half of the problem! It needs to start thinking about wrapping up shit and developing the characters it already has. Paper Moon at least brought in some more development on Kama and the other Indian servants but falls flat in other regards. I would like to see more of the characters and plotlines that already exist being developed. Daybit isn't even dead so wtf is he doing rn?

Velma's mom. I think she could work especially if we keep Daphne adopted. A search for family along with solving murder mysteries

I really liked Mystery Incorporated and Fred Sr. Him coming back as a character or a combo of Fred's previous dads could work. Just something to do with family to add to the girls stories

Have Fred not be an awful human. 

Velma can be sassy. She has been before and it has worked before. Being a straight up asshole has never worked.

Daphne is still her nice self but a bit of an asshole. Not a huge one. Just the friend who is a tiny bit mean to you.

Shaggy keeps his original personality. I am sorry to those who liked Norville but he is in no way shaggy in personality or even looks (Not the race. His hair is just not him). Have him be a bit sadder?

If Scooby cannot be here or mentioned just vaguely be like Shaggy's dog died

I am keeping Velma's race swaps. Kinda

There should be mentions of Velma's mom leaving and Daphne being adopted.

Fred should find out later (episode 8,9,10?) that he is adopted. Hit the "Why didn't you tell me sooner"

Just introduce characters and their families.

Velma lives with her dad and his pregnant girlfriend (yes I am keeping her dumb butt). Velma likes her but she isn't her mom and she doesn't want her to replace her either.

Daphne is still adopted by a lesbian couple. I am changing their careers to Fashion designer and Science Teacher. Donna is the fashion designer and Linda the teacher.

Fred, as I said above, is raised by his (adopted) dad. With the dad being smashed with his previous incarnations' dads. So mediocre to a good dad. Business person?

Shaggy is raised by his mom and stepdad along with his younger half-sister Maggie. They are good parents. Mom works as a Chef while stepdad is a stay at home dad for Maggie.

Again, the first episode doesn't have to be so full. Families can get quick glimpses, easy since I am setting up the side journey of finding relatives or just a family side stories

Velma and Shaggy are friends. Have been for years now (since middle school). They carpool to school together.

Daphne and Fred are friends. Became friends freshman year.

Shaggy and Fred are friends. Like kindergarten friends who drifted apart but will still throw down for the other.

Daphne and Velma know of each other but aren't even friends. 

Same with Fred and Velma but a tad bit closer because of Shaggy.

Finally I will type a clearer :first episode:

Open with Velma marking of a calendar that says "Anniversary"

Show her getting ready and greeting her Dad and Sophie.

Insert a joke or something 

Have her walk a little way down to a neighbor's house and knock.

Just a quick hi from Shaggy's stepdad and Maggie before he calls for Shaggy

Shaggy runs down and greets her and brings her to a van and show them backing up

Switch to Daphne being dropped off at school by her moms.

The bell rings and everyone heads to class

Have some dumb joke be said by someone that isn't a main character. Make it foreshadowing to their death?

We are about half way through this episode so it should skip to lunch time.

Have some chatter about the previous class. Whatever it was.

We should follow Fred around when Shaggy runs up (Velma following behind) and asks if he heard the news

Fred says No and Shaggy shows him his phone with a News report. Some girl (One of Daphne's friends) is missing. Lots of blood was found, possibly dead, etc

Fred immediately asks if anyone told Daphne and both just kinda mention they aren't close to her. So he drags them with him to Daphne's lunch table with her other girl friends.

[15-18 minutes through?]

Everyone starts talking about it in worry and terror because who knows at this point who is doing it.

Have the bell ring to have them leave lunch to head to class

Show some worry on the characters' faces before Daphne says they should ditch to go look. Fred is on board, Velma took some convincing as "real person" missing, and Shaggy only agreed because Velma and Fred are his friends.

Have them bolt out of the school and begin looking around secluded spots near the school.

Have them lightly joking so they feel less anxious when…

They find her body.

End on scream 

Next episode can just be them telling the police, another goes missing, police are bad at their jobs, the gang becomes the Gang™.

Also throughout the entire season there should be mentions of the family side story. You know, because I hope people will care enough ← Says a company making this show so a 2nd season could happen

Anyways this whole mess was for fun so don't take it too seriously.

Like pretend there are longer episodes so I can keep the snail's pace.

I really like the idea of exploring family with these characters.

Hi! Here I am again, since I loved your insights on Doomsday. ;-)

So, let's continue talking about Ten's behaviour, this time in Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel.

In my opinion, Ten is rather distant and almost assholey towards Rose in this two-parter, especially when compared to Nine's incredible tenderness in Father's Day (and this despite the whole end-of-the-world + mutual-insults situation!). I totally understand what he says to her (that Parallel Pete is not her father, that her father died when she was 6 months old...) but... would it hurt you to also take her hand, hug her, say something about how you are sorry for what she must be feeling? So, I wonder[ed] why Ten behaves like this.

In this case, I had tried to answer myself by considering two hypotheses:

- "GitF is canon/it fits into S2" --> then I would sort of explain Ten's behaviour with keeping in line with his distancing from Rose and pushing her back towards Mickey after School Reunion and GitF;

- "GitF was originally planned as an episode at the beginning of S1, therefore is not to be considered canon" --> Yeah, Ten still is worried about his relationship with Rose, as of School Reunion, but then... is Mickey being aboard (and once again close to Rose) enough to justify Ten's distance?

And I’m glad to see you in my inbox - hello lovely! Ah, yes. Rise of the Cyberman. Post-GITF Ten. I can’t believe I’m about to agree with your hypothesis that GITF is canon but... here we are! And you're right, ten is an absolute arsehole to Rose in this episode, just as he is in GITF, and just as he is in SR. Honesty, its a wonder why we ship them??

Stuck with you, that's not so bad. If I believe in one thing, just one thing, I believe in her. How long are you going to stay with me? Forever. I made my choice a long time ago and I'm never going to leave you. Rose Tyler, defender of the Earth! Does it need saying? Rose, her name was, Rose, and we were together. Tonight's a night for lost things being found. Who's gonna hold his hand now?

ah right yes, that's why 😭 ANYWAY I digress. Ten's behaviour in ROTC is very... Ten. And his reaction, compared to Nine's, when Rose meets her dad is very different. But... understandable. Not condoning Ten's behaviour!! But, for a moment let's forget GITF exists (I mean, if you've not already): Nine almost lost her to her dad. She's the one man she was happy to be stuck with ('stuck with you that's not so bad' FEELINGS 😭), and Nine initially shrugs it off. 'Fine, see if I care' sort of attitude (which, we all know he does, he's just frustrated that he's let himself fall for a girl he shouldn't really have). Ten adopts the complete opposite: he panics. He's desperate to keep her with him now, regardless of what's gone on in the last few episodes. But see, the previous episodes did happen. This line is such a throw away line that we don't really notice it all that much, but he's addressing what happened between him and Reinette here:

He's saying this, because he's damn sure she's never trusted him less at that moment. He broke her trust by leaving, and it might look a lot like neither of them spoke about what happened, but he knows, and Ten's dumb enough that he doesn't just know when he messed up, he's told.

And so he's keeping hold of her at the beginning, too — body angled towards hers and his arm lazily reaching behind her to physically keep her close to him because he almost lost her.

Ten is incredibly selfish, and it's unbearable at the start of series 2. Nine regnerated into Ten literally for Rose, because he loved her and the last act of the Time War was a sacrifice for love. She came back for him, she absorbed the time vortex for him, so, as much as he finds it hard to believe, he knows somewhere that she loves him. He acts instinctively, he's so in love with her and she's about to die. Ten's born out of this unbearable love Nine held for her in this moment, to the point where Ten literally only exists to love Rose. He's so sure of his love for her, that he takes it for granted. Rose took the time vortex for him, and that's it then. She's in love with him, he's in love with her, so just go for it. But then comes actually... going for it, and he realises he can't. He's going to lose her, and he needs to bring them both back to reality because this is real. It's like when you fancy someone and you know, realistically, you can't have a future with them for whatever reason - different religion, one wants children while the other doesn't. You still go for it, because it gets to a certain point where you have to act on your feelings, but one day you will have to face those conflicts and you will always have to end things. Ten puts a stop to them, and the only way he can put a stop to them for her is by slapping her in the face with reality. Again, Ten's an arsehole. But then he slaps her in the face with reality so hard that he nearly loses her. He doesn't want that, but he can't exactly... declare his love for her after what he did.

"Rose, I know I've made you feel awful for being human and for leaving me behind by dying, and I know I did exactly that to you the very next day, but I love you and I don't want you to leave me behind."

Rose would rightfully bollock him. So he tries his best to rationalise, making this less about him telling her what to do and what he wants, and more about reminding her why she's living in a fairytale world where her dad never died and he's still alive. That is her dream come true, but, just as its impossible that they could have their happily ever after, it's impossible that her dad's still alive.

And you can see Mickey in the background getting pissed off, wincing at how bloody harsh he's being... but, he's right. He could have snapped at Ten for being an arse, telling him to go easy on her, but he doesn't, because somebody had to say it.

On Mickey, he's not convinced in any way that somethings going to happen to Rose to change her mind. He knows she's going to be alright, but the Doctor doesn't. He's panicking massively, and the fact that he's still being aggressive even here, without Rose, just goes to show how furious he is with himself for giving her a reason to leave him.

Imagine him, in the TARDIS and before Mickey arrives, cursing himself for what he did. Rightly so, because he was a dick, and this is almost satisfying to watch. But we don't get to see it explicitly, we only get the idea that, behind closed doors, he knows he fucked up big. He even admits that he's worrying about what's going to happen.

So bloody satisfying.

But then there's the other thing: she never existed in this world. Look at how he drops his facade for just a moment,

He doesn't say "well, of course not — why would you?", or point out that it's even more proof that this world isn't right for her, his hearts break for her. It's as bad as it gets for Rose - knowing that her mum and dad are happy in this world without her. She's not needed, literally anywhere. And that's when he shifts his tone.

He protects Pete, brings him with them because he knows how much he means to Rose,

but most of all, he reminds her that she's something, she's worth so much more than the lies she's telling herself, the lies he made her believe when he left her behind, that she's important and this world's got it wrong by not having her in it.

All these different worlds, not one of them gets it right.

Ten would go above and beyond to not admit his feelings for Rose — well, that's not true, he wouldn't admit his feelings for Rose to Rose — but ROTC/AOS marks a turning point for him. He got cocky, he took her feelings for granted, he took them for granted, and he nearly paid the price. He's not getting that close again, and, contrary to ROTC, he does declare his love for her from then on. He's unafraid to show it from the Idiot's Lantern onwards — he's terrified, because he knows he's going to lose her — but he lets his guard down because she deserves to know. She deserves to feel wanted, to feel important. He doesn't do that by telling her, he does it by showing her. By believing in her to defeat the devil, by fighting tooth and claw to get her back after her face — she — was stolen, by constantly putting his faith in her to save the day and save him, by telling her she's his hand to hold, she's his home, that, by the time he's giving her the option to live with her dad and be safe with her dad, she's empowered enough for make her own decision about what she really does want. And that's him. His anger in this episode is completely directed towards himself. He's harsh with her, but it's in character, because Ten loathes himself so much that he's just filled with fury and rage. Tentoo's exactly the same, filled with blood and anger. He's not afraid to show it, but he also doesn't really know how to show anything else. He's either giddy and flirtatious, or tearing down his enemies — which is often himself. He doesn't deal with emotions at all, so when he feels things that terrifies him, he gets snappy. He gets impatient, things are rapidly falling out of his control and she he does anything to get them back. Ten/Rose coming from GITF to ROTC is similar to Ten/Rose going from AOS to TIL. By the time 2.07 rolls round, they're madly in love. A3! 5 year anniversary countdown: ~After-talk~

This is basically an annoyingly long A/N, none of you have to read it.

January's now over...!! How'd you guys do in the event? I was completely and utterly destroyed by it! ☆

I mean, imagine me, alright? I'm just a little guy. I've got like 300 something something gems to spend, and I have two favorite characters, I'm gonna try getting them both!

So I get kazu, right? Cool! My future's looking bright! Maybe I can get tsuzu too, right? Wrong!

I could sit here and complain about my rolls in detail, but the long and short of it is that I got a LOT of itarus and citrons (one full bloomed r itaru, one full bloomed sr itaru, an ssr christmas itaru, and SIX anniversary citrons!! Thats enough citrons to form a whole wakiwaki-gumi!!). I call them the Partners In Crime Duo (Sr +60%) because they basically robbed me blind

Murder! I spent like 800+ on the spring scout alone, dude!

And tsuzuru's in the tease for the next event...!!? All this pain and suffering...!!

.... Welp, setting my grudges aside.

Doing the anniversary series was a real educational experience for me. I learned a lot of things, like:

- doing something that takes as much time as this series did requires a lot of planning ahead, and its my bad for winging it

- how to draw like 23 different flowers

- being passionate about your work is cool and all but not sleeping and forgetting to eat will land you in the hospital! (twice!!)

- a weak tablet (broken screen) + pointy finger (worn out from drawing/gaming) is NOT an optimized drawing set-up (and one of these days im gonna get me a proper drawing tablet but for now, I'll have to make do)

Because of said unoptimized set-up on top of an already bumpy schedule, there were a lot of ideas i had to throw out the window in order to make room for time (even though compromising on backgrounds/shading/details/etc. was already supposed to give me more time, :ugly_crying:). Of course there are sketches and ideas thats completely different from the final product, but i also wanted to draw some minor characters as part of the countdown if i had the time to. Unfortunately, Sakoda decked out in full "Sakyo Oshi" gear is gonna have to wait.

Speaking of concepts and ideas, here are the anniversary pictures that i had planned to go together! (read: PLANNED to go together— they don't, but i hastily edited it to make it kinda look like it does??)

Hindsight powers activating, i really should've drawn them together THEN separated them instead of drawing them separately from the start. Ahh, let this be yet another learning experience for me.

Yknow, the original idea was to have a very simple piece of the character just going about their day, followed by a <100 words essay about something i like about them. It was like that for the first few days and then I completely threw it out the window the more into it I got. Sorry for making you guys read essays about my thoughts on the characters, I literally didn't mean it.

.... No, screw it. I promised myself not to say anything mean about the game or the characters during the entire run, but im sick of being nice to these guys! I'm gonna say something mean about every single one of them!!

Sakuya's an airhead, dense main character edition! Masumi's a creep! Tsuzuru's ordinary as hell! Itaru's a goddamn gremlin! Citron's a weirdo! Chikage :/ Tenma's a pompous rich kid! Yuki's an asshole! Muku's head is stuffed with nothing but clouds! Misumi is literally some kind of alien! Kazunari's annoying! Kumon's obnoxious! Banri :/ Juza's an airhead, socially incompetent edition! Taichi has nothing going on in the brain! Omi kindly shares his brain cells with Taichi, but at what cost! Sakyo's a boomer! Azami's a brat! Tsumugi and Tasuku share a single brain cell, and they lost it during a street act! Hisoka acts like a pain in the ass! Homare's pretentious! Azuma's a slut! Guy is an airhead, language barrier edition!

..... If you've read any of my posts you would know i dont mean any of that (... some of these, at least). Coming up with some of those was very hard; insulting these guys was a lot harder than i thought it'd be.

If you somehow read through all of that, then thank you! Thank you for putting up with the things I say, and thank you for supporting the countdown series! Seeing the things people say in the tags has been a wonderful experience for me, and I'm glad to have provided some sort of entertainment for you all! Thank you again, and see you next time!

Small rant about how people talk about how Candle mispreads information (I want to make it CLEAR that I'm it mad at any specific person. Just how people are saying Candle spreads misinformation) (also, this rant mildly contains spoilers for Ep. 4 for II3 and discussion of religion (not in a negative or positive way tho, DW), if you do want either of those things, you're free to leave. It's okay; I'll understand /gen) (also adding the half-exaggerated image so this gets more traction)

 So, ever since the fourth episode came out, there's been a small controversy over the fact that Candle is spreading misinformation (I would say "seemingly", but I do believe people are being truthful when they say that), however I think these people are forgetting a super important detail when talking about this topic:

THEY DON'T ACTUALLY STATE WHAT TYPE OF MISINFORMATION CANDLE IS SPREADING

From what I've gathered, the misinformation comes from Candle's third eye and how it relates to religion (a post said it had a connection to Pagan religion). Okay, got it. But can you please elaborate further on why Candle is misrepresenting some religions? Just saying "this is awful representation of this thing" doesn't say how that thing is awful representation. I'll use an example: Saying "the way cats are portrayed in media is gross representation of how cats behave" doesn't tell people that the media portrays cats as mean animals when cats are usually pretty affectionate, but they're also solitary animals who don't share affection the same way dogs do (people keep forgetting this facts for some reason). Saying something is misrepresentation is just saying something is misrepresentation. I'll use another example, this time involving mythology/religion. Saying "Hades is misrepresented in Disney's Hercules" doesn't tell people that Hades in original Greek mythology was actually wasn't a villain and was actually kinda chill for the most part (also Zeus is a cheating prick and should be #cancleled /lh /hj).

When informing people about misinformation, you need to tell them what the misinformation got wrong and what the correct information is. That way, people can get an understanding about why the misinformation is, well, misinformation.

If you want to make a post saying how Candle is spreading misinformation, that's fine. Great even. It's good that you're bringing awareness to the fact that a part of Candle is problematic. But you're not helping the people/thing Candle is misrepresenting, nor are you helping the creators fix their mistake by not saying how she's misrepresentation. Saying something is misinformation is a start, but explaining why that misinformation is wrong is the most important step that people seem to be forgetting.

TL;DR- When talking about something that spreads misinformation, PLEASE state why that's misinformation instead of just saying "this is misinformation". It helps a lot.

Does the SR rewrite also take place in a an ambiguous country? Are you going to ever make it public online or pursue publishing? Literally, if you ever published anything I would fly over to the US&A just to congratulate you and get an autograph. Also, I llllove the caharacters!!!

Honestly the problem of the made up country is something im trying to navigate with my rewrite lol. I can get away with the ambiguity in fanfic but it felt weird not having names for places. Especially considering its sorta important?? A little bit??

So I'm slowly finding ways to integrate some setting information here and there. I've named the country "Noracoast" and the main city where the majority of stuff in the first half of the story takes place is called "Denspri".

I'm not sure where the country is though. I've established that it has at least SOME coast, so I was thinking its kinda like Iceland? Just kinda hangin out somewhere around there? Total free spirit not connected by land to any other country? Dunno. That might not be very important to the story but I'll keep thinking about it anyway lol

As for the other cities, I've got a few names in mind and will decide on them when I'm at that point in my reread heh

I think eventually I'll make it available to read online, but I'm not too sure about publishing. Maybe self publishing, if anything, but even that... hmmmm the fact that it originated as a fanfic will probably deter me from actually publishing it. Not that I'm ashamed of my fanfic roots, of course, but I just don't need the connections between the stories to be made in case people I know, aka my family, decide to follow up on my ao3 account and find all the, ya know, spicy things. I don't need that kinda stress in my life rn lmao.

But if people show interest in reading it eventually, then I would be more than willing to post it somewhere for you! Dont know where yet... but I'd figure it out

This is the best/worst ask I’ve ever gotten, I’m so emotionally exhausted from screaming and crying at random intervals at work all day while shouting LOOK AT MY FUCKING BABY BOY at my coworkers while shoving the blurry leak in their face for the 90th time while they all say “okay nuke we see it it’s fucking geno” that I have no inhibitions so sure I’ll tell everyone about my gay-ass stupid as hell Geno story in my head

Once upon a time something happened up on Star Road where star babies stopped being born and everyone was scared but then one day a Star Baby showed up and everyone was like wow! He’s special. So they named him after the deity they worship, who is real, she is a nice lady and Star Road is the actual center of the universe and is like her “Heart” because she’s only a corporeal being when she wants to be, because she’s god. Have I mentioned she’s an idiot? Anyways her name is only ‘hard to pronounce’ because it’s like this crazy infinitely long HP Lovecraft shit, so they started calling the-boy-who-would-be-Geno by a shortened version of the name! Space God wound up becoming fond of this shortened version of the name and started calling herself that.

ANYWAYS, out of respect for their special new baby and the deity they mostly refer to new little starboy as “Little One”. He gets annoyed by this when he eventually becomes a teenager. He has been annoyed for a while, being treated as something special when he never felt like he deserved it. After he showed up, more star babies started being born like normal, so there were more reasons for them to believe he was some kind of savior. He was sort of ostracized in Baby Star School and treated like a weirdo cause he was The Special Fancy Boy, y’know?

I also HC that he was kind of raised by the star spirit guys from Paper Mario (a game I have never played so i rely on information from my gf, who loves paper mario), mostly Eldstar.

So one day lil’ one is a young adult and he is having a feisty young adult argument with Eldstar. He has been looking at this cool place called Earth for so long and he wants to venture out into the cosmos and explore! But Eldstar is very over-protective of his little grandson so they get into a fight.

During the fight, very suddenly, something horrible happens. A giant sword falls from somewhere above in the cosmos and shatters Star Road into 7 pieces! There is whole other nonsense going on with the deity and her point of view, which I have on the page for my Subeta pet of that character, which you can only view if you have a subeta account… by the way, sign up for subeta it’s fun!!!!!!! But yes I’m sorry I only have it there. I think I posted it here once but might have deleted it.

Anyways, little one decides to try to become the hero everyone already thinks he is, and against everyone’s wishes (lol), runs off to earth to collect the 7 fragments of star road and fix everything. He knows his argument with Eldstar probably only proved further that he was ‘too immature to handle stuff’, so he really feels like he needs to show everyone what he’s capable of.

Which is, as we know, a whole lot.

I also have Post-SMRPG nonsense where Geno - who decides to continue going by that name even when he goes back to SR because he feels like he developed his own identity finally - winds up meeting his mom, who is just… the worst at her job, honestly. But she loves her kids so much! Geno finds out he WAS a direct creation of the deity and is really, technically, her son. But, he also learns that he is not her only son, and that someone else he may have encountered before is slightly more relevant to his life than he originally thought… and he may not be entirely destroyed……
