Still can't get over the fact that after a year (two?) with the Empire, Scorch makes commander while Boss led one of the top commando squads for three years with the Republic and never got promoted passed sergeant.
#republic commando#honestly i've got an entire headcanon regarding commandos' lack of upward mobility in the ranks#originally they were organized to serve directly under the jedi and commanders would exist in a parallel hierarchy to infantry#which they still did mostly#but after losing half their number on geonosis and realizing the jedi didn't know what to do with them they had a massive restructuring#only a couple divisions- like kenobi's -got commando squads but to ensure they were deployed properly they needed their own officers#so clones like gregor were taken from the command track and crosstrained as commandos#i imagine first gen commandos have very mixed feelings about this because suddenly outsiders are in charge of them?#and scorch and fixer and sev resent it because on one hand boss was absolutely wasted as a sergeant#on the other hand they looked at a fucking alpha-arc-desk-jockey captain maze and knew boss would be even more wasted off the field#trying to imagine scorch's reaction to his meteoric rise in rank suddenly leading hundreds of commandos and TKs and no foreseeable fieldwor#'no! how could they do this to me the great and loveable scorch!'#sev would find it hilarious that they gave scorch that much responsibility but also#he went mia as a private and now the others are all officers what the fuck#probably would've been more hilarious if scorch hadn't already been on the verge of snapping from ptsd and having abandoned a brother#and knowing fixer and boss are held hostage to keep him in line just as he knows he's a hostage to keep them in line (headcanon)#these tags are now novels#i just have a lot of thoughts about commandos okay?

Y'all are gonna think I'm so weird.
But I'm running with this idea I've had for a while for my mcl ocs. Well, other than the actual other mcl ocs I've made.
It's part lazy, part bizarre.
Clones.
Yep, clones.
My MCL NG oc is a clone of the original Puku, but different. I haven't figured out the details yet, but it's like what I did with Pukun, Puku's male clone. It has the idea of a type of clone theory idea of nature vs nurture. The DNA and nature of the puku clones is the same, but the nurture is always a bit different depending on circumstances. Puku "prime" is the parent of all the clones made, but Puku "prime" had a different parentage and upbringing than the clones. Not to mention, the events of each mcl game has different outcomes for clone Puku.
This Puku has -teal- hair and is a zoomer, I guess. Raised by Puku "prime" and has the existential grappling of dealing with being a clone in general.
There's... still a lot of ironing out to do. Like... Where does Kentin fit into all this? How should I incorporate the family given to Puku 2.0 in New Generation?

Then she'll be dropped off at the door step of the#family in NG with the instructions that she needs them to be her new family#yeah it's perfect!#just... so many of those gen z starter packs that I seen around#like minecraff and fortnite and the wii... yeah it's perfect#i need to remember how much aging happens in one year that I must have decided at one point. like a dog.#i think it was 1 year = about 4 years of growth but I can't member rn#but as per usual that growth cycle only goes on until reaching the age of the dna sampled. then it goes back to normal puku dna human growt#so actually 1 year of zoomer childhood programming#wait... the plot holes... are still.. T__T#I'll workshop it.

#fei's talking corner#i filter the living shit out of ao3 but by god i cant find anything#i refuse to read any renheng fic (i am a fixed dynamic person) and thats probably where one could find interesting stuff#but i find that romance annoys me more than not in these sorts of character exploration fics#its also a struggle for other characters too. like on god dr ratio is worse in this department. like hello i love all the aventurine angst#but can i pls get crumbs of ratio character study too?#surprisingly neuvillette and furina have a couple of genuinely good gen angst fics#tho most have either wriollette as a ship (and i cant find myself to like the ship or wrio as a character) or theyre nvfr#or its a cursed combination of character angst + ship angst + good lord this is beyond awful characterization#and i think the cherry on top is trying to find alhaitham character studies that dont involve kavetham or romance#like so far there's only been 1 fic thats been a character study i enjoyed and resonated with me but it still featured kavetham in the end#sighhhhhh why am i doomed to like characters who are so interesting and yet people only care about ships with them?

I saw a post and reply combo last night that amounted to “I saw a top competitive player say scvi fixed the ice type but until avalugg isn’t a wasted team slot I disagree” and I can’t stop thinking about it. You disagree with a top competitive player because you don’t know how to use a physical defensive wall
#blissey has base 10 defense and is currently actively one of the most popular Pokémon in gen 3 competitive#because its insane health and solid special defense mean it can still totally stifle special attackers#and like yeah ice has a couple more weaknesses than normal but super effective damage doesn’t guarantee a KO or even high damage#Avalugg has respectable health and really good defense. and even its special defense is a lot better than blissey’s defense#with the new snow buffing ice’s defense and Avalugg’s access to ice body that’s the majority of threats in 3 of its weaknesses neutralized#fire’s the only weakness ice has that’s most commonly used as special moves and that’s when you swap a team member who can beat fire types#also if op was talking about in regular gameplay then. even bigger L because Pokémon main game is easier. NPCs don’t strategize#just run strong moves

kinda ironic that I'm listening to Forces' version of Rhythm and Balance rn, huh. "Shadow don't make me upset" indeed
#I'm not a complete hardass like. I'm not inherently opposed to the recyling of old material#but again you have to do something with those elements. there has to be a justification for their inclusion somewhere#in forces' dlc's case it made sense to remix songs from previous games shadow starred in#because it's. well. a shadow dlc. and the choices they went with suit the theme of their corresponding levels#at this point I'm not sure what sega intends to do with black doom and the biolizard in sxs gen#I'm not sure what they could THINK of to do with them#considering they were such one-off characters#and yeah I get that there's some plausible deniability here in that we're talking about a gens-esque game#revisiting the past#but imo that just makes it more askance-worthy because who would think to couple shth and gens? why not heroes and gens?#or battle and gens?#the only reason they're going for a gens remake with this dlc is because they know they can cash in on nostalgia for shadow's backstory#otherwise it would have no real reason to exist

Some define it as: "One who supports a specific ship or shipping in general."

hoopa is so unfortunate because despite being connected to oras and masters, there isnt a ton of content where it’s actually there and relevant besides the hoopa movie, which is considered the worst pokemon movie and kinda does hoopa dirty anyways by giving it a bad storyline and making it a frustrating character
#like. ive seen people make it the celebi to palkia sometimes#which i feel like really shows the difference between the old mythicals and new ones#despite basically having the same amount of potential celebi has been a consistent part of the anime for a while#got a chronicles ep and a hoenn special and roles in two other movies besides its own (kinda)#while hoopa hasnt shown up in anything besides the movie and in psmd where hes optional#and i mean yeah part of that is just that hoopa is newer while celebis been around since basically the beginning#but like... youd think hoopa would have gotten SOMETHING else by now#something a bit more memorable#echoed voice#idk i feel like the gens 1-4 and kinda 5 mythicals mean something. they feel like mythicals they feel distinct#you cannot deny the vibes that the lunar duo or lake trio have or deoxys or jirachi#but somethings just. off about the ones after gen 5#and this is coming from someone who loves diancie and does kinda like magearna btw#i dont hate any of these pokemon and i get why a couple of them are mythicals but it also feels unearned and strange#like... what exactly makes zeraora a mythical? endangerment? does that make lapras and farfetch'd mythicals too?#even in the anime theyre just like ''idk its kinda rare''#same with zarude. how is zarude a mythical. even in its movie its just a general species really#with marshadow they try and force a connection to ho oh but it just doesnt really make sense or work and its kinda odd in hindsight#bc i dont think anyone actually considered it a ho oh related pokemon especially since ho oh already has the dogs#really feels like most of the mythicals now are just made to fill that movie quota#which is just odd to me even now bc shiny celebi was only in the zarude movie for two seconds and it still got merch and distributions#so really just. reuse the legendaries lol#better yet start teasing the next gen again with normal pokemon like lucario and zoroark#those are classics and fan favorites to this day and i cannot figure out why they stopped besides the crunch now

finished everything in the indigo disk now... overwhelmed with shiny hunting options lol
#ghost town... 2!#pokemon#wow.... Every Single Starter... no eggs necessary...#i had both a litten and tepig outbreak the other day so i've crossed off both of those evolution lines#managed to get a minior despite the annoyances of it#and i got a couple galarian slowpoke so that family's done now too#i think my current plan is: get the duraludon line and one more applin so i'm caught up on gen 9 shinies#then get alolan diglett; dugtrio; muk; and exeggutor (which just leaves meowth; persian; and marowak to be hunted on 3ds)#and THEN go back to the 3ds for celebi; deoxys; type null line; poipole line; and probably jirachi before it's too late#and just check the outbreaks daily for starters and do those when they show up#also since i'm now out of new content to consume i'll be getting back to the 3d model stuff when i don't feel like shiny hunting lol#collector's almost done but there's some tweaks i wanna do on the mesh#and i need to figure out how to do them without making it so i have to redo the textures from scratch. lmao#the 3d modelling process for me is seriously like 70% troubleshooting because i'm just learning as i go gvfhjdvg
