The tragic idea that the Betrayers loved their siblings so much that it ended up being what drove them apart. They didn't want to settle for anything that could hurt their family, and mortals were doing so, either directly (a mortal usurping one of them) or indirectly (emotionally hurting them during the Schism by just. dying so much). To the Betrayers, it wasn't worth it. They wanted their beloved family to leave and go somewhere that wouldn’t hurt them.
To them, it's the primes who are the betrayers. The primes were motivated by more than just love for their immediate family - they loved their creation, too, and more than that, felt a responsibility for it. They would rather fight their own siblings than leave it.
We saw all the gods love and protect each other during the opening of Downfall. The Betrayers were not uniquely evil from the start. They wanted to save themselves and their family from hardship and suffering, even if it meant leaving their creation, their game, and in response their siblings locked them away. Not only do they not love mortals, they view mortals as this corruptive force that somehow turned their family against them. Do they think that, if they succeed in exterminating them, the Primes will be freed from their influence? Maybe - perhaps some of them are waiting to forgive and embrace their siblings, but far from all, I suspect. Asmodeus certainly expressed during Calamity that he didn’t so much want to be reunited with his siblings as he wanted to punish them. He was betrayed by the ones he loved most for the sake of a game! Maybe togetherness and forgiveness was once an obtainable goal, but not anymore. Even if the Betrayers succeeded in ending Exandria, the Primes would never forgive them, and they would never forgive the primes. Their family can never be whole again because of, as they see it, the toxic influence of mortals. So they hate mortals for this influence, but more than that, they hate their siblings for being so weak as to fall for it.

Teary Eyes Posing Tutorial
So I've been desperate to replicate the teary eye effect we see in cutscenes (mostly Tataru unleashing her LB3 on WoLs) and all similar questions I've seen on the crime tool discords are met with the same "can't be done, photoshop it" line of answers if any. So if you have zero photoshopping skills like me and want a fix of that sweet angst, here's a quick way to fake it in-game directly while gposing:
(Requires very basic Anamnesis or Brio experience)
-
(You might want this to be the last step after you're done posing your character, since you'll be dealing with a hand prop.)
Equip this prop to both your main and offhand, by typing in the numbers: 9072, 1, 1. and click below them to "show weapon."
Tumblr media
2. Now since they're tiny little droplets, they'll be hard to see, so I suggest you click on the weapon bone in your preferred posing mode and scale them up to around 5. Raising the z value (3rd one) slightly higher makes the droplets rounder and easier to work with. And if the size doesn't change for some reason, try scaling the root or abdomen bone instead of the weapon bone.
Tumblr media
3. Shove that thing up your eye (lovingly). It helps if you rotate each droplet sideways so that its shape matches that of your eye. (smaller tip toward your inner eye corner, large tip toward the outer corner)
Tumblr media
4. Now the fun part! You can do this several ways: If you want the full-on LB3-level brimming-with-tears effect like Tataru's, just keep tweaking the scale of the droplet til it's about the size of your eye and position it just over the whole eye, tweaking and rotating until it fits perfectly inside your eyelids without clipping out, et voila.
Tumblr media
The LB2 level: Another (more realistic?) way would be to lower the droplets to have them "well up" around your lower eyelids:
Tumblr media
LB1 level: Or you can simply lay the droplets at their original size at the outer corners of your eyes for a "threatening to turn on the waterworks but can be assuaged with cake" effect
Tumblr media
Bonus tips for extra realism:
- As with most other things, best to avoid symmetry
- Mix & match shapes & sizes
- The more dramatic your lighting the more dramatic they'll look
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you try this please show me. Angst gives me life thankyou.

I have to wonder about the order of the arrival of the gods' avatars in Exandria, in particular Ayden. Because he's so young. He feels older than his years, but he also feels young in the sense that he is still experiencing the world—he intervenes as often as he is able and is not shy about ending with the small community that they are soon leaving, he is most affected by suffering and injustice. There is a pity borne of his divine point of view, yes, but even comparing him to Trist, who has obviously embraced the mortal world and ingrained herself within it, or S.I.L.A.H.A., who has gone out of his way to experience the wonders of the city that has driven them to such drastic lengths but who seems distantly resigned to its destruction, Ayden feels impressed upon by the circumstances of the world in a way that is much more youthful.
It seems that there was some amount of plan around who arrived when, but it wasn't all that specific beyond Ioun scouting ahead in Aeor, and was otherwise based on their own decision or whim. Why did Pelor wait so long to go? Had he hoped that perhaps the issue would be resolved before it became necessary—before the light of Exandria was sequestered away in a mortal form? Was he wary of growing too used to being mortal, to becoming attached to his life even beyond Trist, who leaves her family ruefully but resolutely all the same?
Ayden walks as though he cannot help but let the world touch him, but he doesn't seem to have companions of his own, instead traveling with Trist's family. They have left their home recently enough that Trist is still wearing her husband's overcoat rather than her own, and he goes without, suggesting that they have fled recently and with haste. In contrast, Ayden makes no mention of parents or a family, though he is young enough that he should still be with them. In this time of war, it is simple to wonder if they've been killed in its path, perhaps before Ayden was aware of the hand he'd had in its making. He carries little, and the shield he has seems to be—at least looks—worn and broken. It's quite likely that it too was created in response to this war, as much as Ayden himself. He looks to his sister and her mercy like a north star.
He feels both new to and impressed upon by the world, and I have to wonder how forcefully he is holding himself apart from its suffering, even as he intervenes often enough that he risks giving himself and his family away—not because he is afraid to experience it, but because he already has. He understands that he is fighting for this world even as he and his family is the cause of its strife. Aeor may offer the gods the mechanism by which to separate themselves from the world they've shaped, but I wonder if having the perspective of Ayden will give Pelor the resolve and the reason to choose it.

Do you know about the "secret hair bones" in Anamnesis? Now you do!
I've been making some gpose guides lately, so here's one I feel like a lot of people don't know. Every in-game hairstyle has "bones" in the Matrix View option of the Pose tab. These are different from the main hair bones in the GUI view.
While frozen in gpose, go to the icon that looks like a box cut into 4 smaller boxes, which I've circled in red:
Tumblr media
Under "Hair and Accessories", there will be a section that says "Unique." The number of bones (circles) will depend on the hairstyle you have. In my WoL's case, he has 4 unique hair bones with his style.
Tumblr media
Play around with each one and see how it moves your character's hair! Wiggle them around with the XYZ axis orb and/or the scales with the plus and minus icons. You can use these bones to do things like giving your pose a "windswept" look:
Tumblr media
Or bedhead/something silly:

Have fun! :D

Anamnesis is a single-player tarot TTRPG of self-discovery, reflection, and identity.
Players draw tarot cards to tell the story of someone experiencing memory loss, gradually uncovering their past and figuring out how to move forward. This game can also be used as a writing exercise or a character creation tool.

There are currently discounted, lightly-damaged copies available! These are $12, including shipping, and ship anywhere in the world. They come with the digital package, which includes the PDF, the audiobook, and the ENNIE-nominated designer's commentary version. You can check it out here.

Perhaps this is common knowledge and I'm just speaking into the void here, but thought it couldn't hurt to share this trick just in case it might benefit someone else. This applies for Anamnesis on PC.
If you want to use the emotes of another race/gender than that of your character, you can do so by pausing and register the emotes you'd like to use and then apply it to your desired character.

It works pretty well across the board regardless of height or proportions, and the tweaking required is minimal (mostly for facial expressions and general hand/limb placement).

Again, maybe this is common knowledge, but this is my personal go-to screenshot trick nowadays so thought maybe it might be beneficial for someone else.

I've been playing solo ttrpgs for fun for about a year, but I never posted anything about them online before. I finally decided to at least share them somewhere, so I can keep track of my games and maybe sometimes go back and revisit them. I think it could be fun for people to see if they're interested in different solo ttrpgs before getting them, or even find out about new ones to try. Here's my very first post. If it turns out that it's something I keep doing, I'll work o an blog that looks a bit better :)
