Tumgik
#And yes this is the same continuity as the Saihara Games
Note
Random thought but since we're back on our danganronpa bullshit. I can only imagine how an interaction between post-game Shuichi "Fuck both hope and despair, it's all your fault for continuing the cycle" Saihara and Makoto "I stole a bunch of terrorists and a government virtual program from the government, tried to fuck Monokuma up MULTIPLE TIMES, and do what I want because I believe in you" Naegi would be like. Realistically, probably really tragically but the idea of them BOTH being feral to some degree is funnu
Funny yes but also wanna just chew on the tragic part.
They would both be absolutely feral.
I love Shuichi but ol hat boy was barely a functioning human being before the killing game.
Now?
Now Shuichi has had to come to terms that his worst fears about hurting people through his talent.
Are not only completly valid and true.
But have cost the lives of many.
Clear De Lune is going to haunt him for the rest of his life.
Shuichi is angry.
He's so so angry at the system, about humanity's carelessness and cruelty.
Hates that he's had to watch the most gentle and genuine of souls die for a cheap laugh and some views.
Yeah he's angry.
And he has nothing left to lose.
And Makoto?
Makoto's been fed to the wolves since day one.
He's had to learn that no matter how genuine a person may seem, if they can turn on him... they will.
Makoto will be constantly looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.
But nothing will stop him from doing what's right.
It doesn't matter if no one wants to listen, he will continue to fight.
Because Makoto can suffer.
And he can almost die and he can make so many enemies he can't even count them anymore.
But no one else is allowed to.
No one else is allowed to feel that they aren't worth it.
Makoto believes so much that it hurts in the goodness of others.
No one will spare him the same thought.
But he just doesn't care anymore.
Just the two of em sitting together on a rooftop watching the stars
Makoto: The world doesn't deserve this.
Shuichi: No... It deserves worse.
Makoto: It's hurt you hasn't it?
Shuichi: Everyone I love...its hurt you why do you care so much?
Makoto: If I don't, who will?
Shuichi:... They would like you.
Makoto: I think I'd like them too.
Shuichi: Does it... Does it get easier?
Makoto: I don't know, does it?
Shuichi: Find having friends helps... But don't have too many of those these days..
Makoto: I'd be honoured to try.
Shuichi: Small smile
Both rest their heads together and watch the stars.
... Than they would go cause absolute anarchy and go beat up a bunch of Monokuma bots.

for the ask game--top ten danganronpa characters? from across all the games! :D
I feel like my answers might be a little bit basic bitch... But, if I like them, I like them, I guess.
1 - Hajime Hinata, ngl I adore all the protagonists but there's just something about Hajime that makes me so mentally ill. Like, if I think about his story for too long, I will cry. Just... I dunno the fact that his lack of self worth lead him to make a decision like that is heartbreaking. The older I get, the more I realise just how stupid and damaging the Hope's Peak system is.
2 - Shuichi Saihara, look... I love shy, quiet and reserved male characters, I love blue haired characters, I love detectives... The moment I saw Shuichi, I felt as if he had been made for me, and goddammit it worked because I love this boy. His development over the story is so good and I love how he bounces off all the other characters. I don't even know how to explain it, I just love him.
3 - Makoto Naegi, yes the three protag boys are my top three but that's probably because we get to hear their thoughts on everything throughout the game and that adds so much personality to everything. But Naegi's such a sweetheart and he's so cute. I feel like, even though he's basically the main protagonist of the whole series and he matures a lot in the DR3 anime... He's still everyone's baby boy. Also, his inner monologues when you investigate everything are just so funny.
4 - Kokichi Ouma, I fucking love this lil gremlin man. It makes me a little sad when people call him Komaeda 2.0 because I feel like the only thing they have in common is that they're antagonistic characters but other than that... Not really similar. But he is by far one of the most entertaining characters in the whole series, he steals the show in every scene he's in. And he, along with Kaito, perfectly embodies the themes of V3, with the whole truth vs lies and faith vs logic stuff going on and then Shuichi right in the middle, it makes for really interesting conflicts and character moments. Also, I wholeheartedly adore both the English and Japanese dubs for all of the games, but I just say that Derek Stephen Prince's performance as Kokichi is one of the best I've ever heard, he is clearly loving every single second of it and it makes Kokichi all the more entertaining.
5 - Chiaki Nanami, let's get the obvious part out of the way: she is adorable. I love her design, I love her personality, I love her voice, I love her little "hey hey" voiceline... She's just so cute, okay? But she's such a great character because she and Hajime seem to be able to bring everyone together but in very different ways and despite her more laid-back personality, she will immediately step in to calm things down - like when she smacked Akane when she attacked Nagito. Plus she's honestly so intelligent??? Like she is usually one of the first people to figure things out... But she's also the same girl that ate glue. And I love that duality. And while I have very mixed feelings on the DR3 anime, Chiaki was fantastic, seeing her continue to wait for Hajime after he had signed up for the Project broke my heart... But not as much as that one episode I just can't bring myself to ever rewatch.
6 - Nagito Komaeda, where do I even start with this fuckin guy??? He truly is one of the characters of all time. I feel kinda bad that he's ended up as such a meme because he is genuinely such a complicated character, but with some of the shit he does throughout the series, I am really not surprised he ended up like that. I do really want to explain why I love him so much but to do so would require an entire goddamn essay, so I won't. Also just... Megumi Ogata's voice. That's all. I love her performances.
7 - Kyoko Kirigiri, I said it before and I'll say it again: I love detectives. Honestly, I adore Kirigiri so much... Like I played the first game when I was thirteen and I had the biggest crush on Kyoko, I honestly don't understand how it took me an extra year to figure out I like women... But seriously, I love her design and colour scheme, her voice is gorgeous and I just love her relationship with Naegi so much.
8 - Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu, again the character development for this guy is just so good. I really didn't think anything of him at the beginning of the game but by the end of the game I adored him. I love his relationship with Hajime and how, by the final few chapters, him, Hajime and Kazuichi are like a lil trio who stick together. And again, Derek Stephen Prince... Goddamn, his performance in the Chapter 2 trial ripped my heart out.
9 - Kiibo, I just love this lil robot guy. I feel kinda bad for him for all the stuff he goes through during the story. Like he keeps getting really excited to show off his features but then everyone's just like "... Is that it?" And let's not forget how everyone used him to a battering ram to break open that water tank and just fucking threw him at it. The boy's been through a lot, most of it from Kokichi tbh. But he's such a cute character and his pride of being a robot and love for his creator is so sweet. Also, that little section in chapter 4 where Monotaro gets confused and acts like Kiibo is his dad is really cute, I remember a manga anthology did a chapter about that scenario and it was adorable.
10 - Nagisa Shingetsu, I really like not as many people pay attention to Another Episode and I get it, it's a spin-off with a completely different playstyle. Hell, I prefer the main games over this game too. But wow, the Warriors of Hope make me feel so bad whenever I play this game. Like, y'know when something is so upsetting, it causes a pit in your stomach? Yeah, that's these kids backstories... All of them make me feel awful but I got really attached to Nagisa because he's one of the ones that stuck around the longest and he had that moment of allowing Komaru to escape but then basically everyone around him manipulates him to make him do what they want and completely mess him up and it just hurts to watch. And it's just disgusting that his father refers to him as 'the subject' not 'Nagisa' not 'my son' just 'the subject'... I just wanna give him a hug... He deserves one after all the shit he's been put through.

Danganronpa V3 Smash Bros Tournament!
•Monokuma decides a good way to get everyone to kill each other is a Smash Bros Tournament, I mean, with all the salt someone’s bound to snap.
•No one kills each other, aside from Maki attempting to kill Kokichi, but it does become a weekly tradition despite the rage.
Kaede Akamatsu
• Get’s into a heated debate over who gets to main Rosalina with Kaito, but after a bit she caved and agreed to pick someone else.
•She end’s up picking Peach after Tsumugi makes a comment that they kinda look alike.
•Little did anyone know that Kaede is actually kinda a monster with Peach and frequently does really well in the tournaments.
•Favourite stage is New Donk city, and every time she gets to play on it she sings Jump up Superstar the entire match.
•Nobody is sure if they love or hate it.
•When not singing, she’ll make the stage music anything that has a dominant Piano.
•Favourite item is the Star Rod
Shuichi Saihara
• Acts like he’s never played before and decides to main Chrom due to him seeing easy enough to play and liking his personality.
•In actuality has played on and off for years and is a proud Dedede main but is too embarrassed to admit it.
•Also plays Pikachu but cause it’s Miu’s main he doesn’t usually use the electric mouse.
•Usually middle of the road in the tournaments.
•Prefers to fight on Battlefield but so long as the stage doesn’t move he can live with anything.
•Likes to keep items off.
Rantaro Amami:
•Good with all three Link forms, but has a bias for Toon Link.
•Can’t remember when he started playing, but given how he’s the only one who doesn’t panic by tripping they assume it’s Brawl.
•They also assume this because whenever someone picks Meta Knight he gets visibly distressed.
•Tournament wise he Can either do really well or really s**t depending on the day.
•Doesn’t have a favourite stage but tends to pick the Zelda stages cause he likes them the best.
•The only one who’s happy when a warp star shows up.
Ryoma Hoshi:
•At first played Incineroar cause its the only cat.
•After realising how bad his recovery was though, he kinda just tried anything to see what would work.
•Found a few semi-mains, namely Snake, Link and Villager
•Usually doesn‘t try to hard in tournaments so comes in last, or will even sit out, but when he wants to win, he will.
•Moral of the story, if he picks Villager, panic.
•No stage or item preference, but when it’s his turn to pick he tends to go with Shadow Moses island cause he likes the look.
Kirumi Tojo
•Mains everyone and is good with all of them.
•Like, can beat Mario with Little Mac good.
•Does have a slight preference towards Shiek though due to her admiring the ninja’s loyalty.
•Due to her skills, she tends to sit out with Ryoma to give everyone a chance.
•When she does play though, well, try not to loose too fast.
•Also usually the one who has to stop Maki killing Kokichi if he beats her.
•Always goes random when stage picking time comes, but also puts all the stages in battlefield mode in case it lands on something BS.
•For similar reasons tries to ignore items
Angie Yonaga
•Everyone expected her to pick Palutena, and while she does have her as a sub main, Angie usually plays Sephiroth. •Why? Angel (kinda), kick ass theme, and loves watching the others panic when they see him. Plus, Atua told her to pick someone unexpected.
•Also tried Pit and Dark Pit, and while she likes their personalities she isn’t big on their gameplay.
•To this day the only one who’s beat Kirumi in a match, and outside of that time she’s still good in tournaments.
•Atua told Angie to pick Big Blue one day, and ever since everyone dreads her turn on stage select.
Tenko Chabishira
• Always plays as a girl no matter what.
•Plays Min Min more often than not, but occasionally surprises everyone by whipping out villager.
•Why? “She’s Himiko cute!!”
•Pretty good at the game, but super competitive. Unless you’re Himiko, be prepared to get yelled at at least once if she looses.
•One day while everyone was playing random, she got Ken and kinda hated that she likes it so she occasionally plays him in private. •Shuichi caught her doing this while he was playing Dedede, and they both promised to never tell a soul.
•Punch Out stage or bust!
•Doesn’t have an opinion on items, but when she plays villager she hopes for the bunny hood cause she thinks it’s adorable.
Korekiyo Shinguji
•Lucario or bust (he likes the aura theme) though he’s also kinda a monster with Lucina
•Strangely though, whenever he uses Lucina he acts... different? (the class is convinced he’s possessed when this happens.)
•Outside of that though, tends to be one of the worse players.
•Second to none at recovery though.
•Hyrule castle has been his favourite stage since day one And that’s never gonna change.
•Always has items on, he likes the surprise factor (he and Shuichi are never allowed have a one on one fight)
Miu Iruma
•Has probably been playing the longest aside from Kirumi.
•Has played all the games, and cause Of this is decent with all of the OG 8, but will always pick Pikachu.
•Will only ever pick someone else if it’s a random match or someone makes her give Shuichi a turn, and in that case she picks Pichu as a backup.
•Despite her boasting, is usually in the lower end of the group.
•Doesn’t stop her from rubbing it in when she wins though.
•Tends to go for Wily’s castle for her stage, if for no other reason than she’s the only one who can handle the yellow devil.
•Super Hammer or bust!
Gonta Gokuhara
•Likes Donkey Kong the best, but also tries to learn how to play Joker from Kokichi cause he looks like a gentleman.
•Also likes all the Pokémon even if he isn’t the best with them.
•Honestly, aside from Olimar he likes everyone, and he only really dislikes Olimar cause he’s bullying the bugs!
•Everyone agrees to never touch the pikmin rep when he’s in the room.
•Tends to come in last with the only one he can beat kinda consistently is Ryoma without villager, but he still has a lot of fun.
•Tends to pick whatever stage everyone likes best, and has no clue how to use items.
Kokichi Ouma
•Always plays Joker because who else is a phantom thief going to pick.
•Actually he plays Villager in his spare time but Kaito is the only that knows and that was a mistake so shh.....
•Begrudgingly teaches Gonta how to play, if only from the horror on someone’s face when they get cocky only to loose to the guy who didn’t even know what a Smash Bros was a few weeks ago.
•Peak troll. Camps with gun, let’s people *cough* Kaito and Miu *cough* Hit fake smash balls, always picks the auto scrolling stages, he just loves making everyone groan.
•Only thing that makes him visibly salty is Miu on stage select cause f**k yellow devil.
Kaito Momota
•A proud Rosalina main. A badass space princess that protects the stars, what’s not to love?
•First time they all play, they all expect him to suck..... so you can imagine their surprise he‘a one of the best players in the class, especially at edge guard
•Despite that, is the most susceptible to stage hazards and bad items, especially fake smash balls. He has gotten better at recovering from them though.
•Never asks anyone to turn them off though, cause it’s worth it for the black hole and the assist trophies.
•Whenever Kiyo plays Lucina, he makes sure to sit at the other end of the couch.
•Always tries to give people pointers, though since he really only plays one character he’s not the best at it.
•Will ALWAYS pick either the Mario Galaxy stage or the Star Fox stages
Tsumugi Shirogane
•Tends to pick Kirby for A, the cute hats, and B, it gives her an excuse to rant about the lore. You know those Kirby fans who obnoxiously push how the series is super deep? That’s Tsumugi.
•Rants the whole match, leading to people preferring Kokichi obnoxiously joining in on Kaede’s singing to it. •Knowing they’re not safe when she’s not playing either, they all agree that unless it’s random’s to never pick a Kirby stage or character (another reason for Shuichi to hide being a Dedede main)
•She’ll occasionally rant about other series too, but Kirby is the biggest example.
•Despite this, she’s actually a pretty good player, even if she can be a bit to sadistic with down special sometimes.
Kiibo
•Refuses to touch ROB or MegaMan to avoid falling into the stereotype of the robot playing the robots.
•Instead picks Pyra and Mythra cause they’re great characters with a bit of computer theme that only Tsumugi knows about mercifully hasn’t ranted on yet.
•Plays very predictably, but just because you know a Lightning Buster- Prominence Revolt is coming doesn't mean blocking it is easier.
•As such is usually in the middle of the pack tournament wise. •Refuses to use side B as Pyra because one time he did and Kokichi did a stupid combo which took him from 30% to death so he’s not taking any chances again.
•Tends to put The stage on random, which he occasionally regrets if he rolls a side scroller.
Himiko Yumeno:
•Mains ALL the magic users. •Robin, Zelda, Hero, Sephiroth, so long as they have a big focus on magic she’s all in.
•Tends to use Hero the most, specifically Eight, because she likes the MP gauge.
•Despite seemingly never practicing and only doing okay with most moves, is the fastest thing in the freaking world at picking the right spell. If she gets magic burst or Kamikaze, prepare to die.
•Everyone assumes she’s probably played Dragon Quest cause of this, but she hasn’t confirmed and just chalks her skill up to magic.
•The only one who can make Tenko stop raging.
•Keeping with the theme, will usually pick the World Tree stage.
Maki Harukawa
•Messed around with everyone a bit but was only super good as Zero Suit Samus.
•Even then she’s mostly middle of the pack, but she doesn’t mind too much.
•Unless she looses to Kokichi, then it’s a struggle for Kaito and Kirumi to stop her from killing him.
•Tends to handle snacks cause Kirumi has to be in the room to keep order and she usually gets knocked out early. •The most frequent subject of Kaito’s tips, which range from helpful to ”Kaito I don’t have a f**king Luma”
•Tends to pick Shadow Moses island cause she likes the look, and though she won’t tell anyone she loves the music

Shuichi, Kokichi and Nagito’s crush likes napping on his lap during breaks
Shuichi Saihara:
·       Ah yes, the Super High School Level Astronomer, it was no wonder Kaito would be friends with such a person, and whoever Kaito was friends with, all his other friends would be friends with them as well, that was how Shuichi had met you. Often in those nightly training sessions, for a break Kaito, Shuichi, Maki and whoever else felt like joining them that evening would jog around till finding you, telescope by your side. You’d speak of the stars, of legends that surrounded them, of how travelers of old navigated the world through them, how stars were born, what there different colors meant, and so much more. Folklore, history, science, didn’t matter, you knew and continued to learn about each and any possible aspect you could about those specks of light. However, you were rather quiet outside of those moments, though you weren’t closed off. It was more so, if you weren’t speaking of stars you’d just so intently listen to others.
·       … Maybe that’s how or why it happened? More often than not, when at school you were rather drowsy. You were often out, camping in the mountains away from the harsh city lights so when you were at school it was nice. When you were around, Shuichi made sure to spend time with you. You were able to speak so much without words, it was fun trying to interpret your expressions. Truthfully Shuichi didn’t think much of it at first, it was just how you were, quiet, yet outgoing, bubbly even. Others however had a more difficult time understanding you, somehow they didn’t notice the many little nuances that made up you, your slightest shift of expression or tilt of the head, your body language, how you spoke more so with your eyes, engaging in the conversations in your own way. How others couldn’t Shuichi had no idea at first, you were captivating, how could they NOT notice!?
·       At first he had thought it was simply him being a detective, often having to interpret and read people through his work with his Uncle, but… that was not quite it, there was more to this. I didn’t come naturally, he WANTED to understand you. He found himself drawn to you, your gravity too powerful for him to even consider resisting. And it seemed the same could be said for you too. Whenever break rolled around, no matter how short it may be, you’d always seek him out. Due to more often than not being awake through the night you’d nap, but Shuichi didn’t mind, not even when you used his shoulder or lap as a pillow. He’d read his novels aloud to you, or if he was working through a case, walk through his logic aloud, he’d just speak even if you were asleep, something in him just knew you were still taking this all in.
·       Even if he was somehow one of the few people who understood you, he wondered how you had even seen him yet. You were like a supernova in his eyes, so bright, so stunning, so colorful, leaving only beauty and wonder in your wake, how did you notice him? By chance did your heart race too at the thought of spending more time together? Did you also find a soft, comforting, warmth in his presence as he did you? Did you adore hearing him speak just as he did you? Whatever the case may be for you, he sure hopped it was something similar because he simply wished to your beloved stars above that you felt even half as amazing as he did with you, he just wanted you to know of such a fantastic emotion, it, no… you were astonishing and he simply wished to share and indulge in it with you.
   Kokichi Oma:
·       “Y/N!” “Hu-AH” You groaned, shakily pushing yourself off the ground. Then you noticed all your items had slipped out of your bookbag. You sighed, seeing all your papers had fallen out of your folders as well. “Geez, Y/N, I didn’t know you were so clumsy!” “Ah, just tired today I guess.” You noticed how Kokichi kept taking glances to you as he helped gather your items. Not surprising considering you literally just tumbled down a flight of stairs. Before you knew it all your supplied had already been collected and placed back in your bag. That was really quick. You winced as you stood up. Your knees almost collapsed under you and Kokichi was in the position to catch you should you have fallen but thankfully you were able to do so yourself. “Hey, hey! Where are you going?” “Oh, uh… umm.” You thought and thought but couldn’t remember. It was so hard, you felt like your mind was swimming and swirling, all thoughts fuzzy and difficult to reach.
·       Then suddenly you were being dragged along by the hand. “What the-” “You are coming with me! This’ll be fun! Especially if you have nothing better to do!” You were completely confused but more so shocked from the whole situation so you couldn’t really bring yourself to try to stop or ask where you were even going.
·       Koichi just kept running around, getting you completely lost. Eventually though he let go, dashing a few paces forward before tumbling and falling. “O-Oma!?” He simply laughed, sitting up. He hummed as the wind rolled past swaying his hair as he looked up to the sky. “Oh, Y/N, Y/N! Look at that!” You were confused looking up to the sky where he was pointing. “Ugh, you can’t see it from there, sit down already!” Taking your arm, he playfully tugged on it, but even that was enough to send you falling. Even with you sprawled across his lap, he managed to scooch over enough so just your head was there. “Perfect! Now, that cloud looks like Gonta; giant, kinda dumb, soft. And that one-” You were… quite puzzled. Clouds? Of all things? That was what he wanted to show you? You heard Kokichi speaking, but it was all noise to you, it held no meaning. You just listened as he droned on and pointed, the shadow of his outstretched arm conveniently covering your eyes.
·       You never really noticed how nice and soft Kokichi’s voice could be. Then again, he was always so loud or quiet, constantly shifting tone you never got the chance to just hear it… It was… rather pleasant. You wanted to hear him longer, engage in whatever game he was playing but so quickly your eyes drooped and all our senses simply lulled to nothing.
·       Then it was evening. At first the sight of those orange and purple hues confused you, but then- “Y/N, you’re alive! It’s been twenty years and Miu’s army of robots have taken over! We need you to join the resistance!” He couldn’t help but laugh at your absolutely baffled expression. “But that’s a lie.” “… oh yeah… Wait…” You suddenly completely awakened, abruptly sitting up. “It’s evening already!? Did we skip class!?” “It’s whateves, Y/N. Hope’s Peak doesn’t care if we skip class.” “No, not that!” You sighed, burrowing your face into your hands and mumbled to yourself. “I didn’t take the new meds again. Of course, I didn’t.” Huh, new medicine was it. Kokichi smirked, dragging you up onto your feet. “C’mon! You’ll make us late for dinner!”
·       The next several weeks were like that. No matter what you did you’d always end up napping on Kokichi’s lap at some point. This was much needed. Your therapist had been fired so you had to start all over with someone new, who wanted to give you new medicine meaning new side affects that could only be worked around via time management. It was a process trying to work out what amount you needed and what not. Napping with Kokichi was just about the only solace you had gotten in the chaos. When you had found a good balance of medication no longer were you exhausted in the day or losing sleep at night. It was great though, admittedly you missed it.
·       It had been about a week or so since your medication seemed to stable out and all was well with you once more. The bells for break had tolled and you left class. Break wasn’t long, but you didn’t care. Hearing shrieks and screams of terror and that ‘Nishishi” you knew you were close. Seeing Kokichi make his escape you simply went to one of the benches outside. And there you waited.
·       You still waited even after the bells signaling the end of break had tolled. “Oh? Y/N actually skipping class!? What has this world come too!? Soon the sky will be falling!” Seeing he wasn’t lying per say and just exaggerating you decided to answer. “I haven’t taken my nap yet.” You took his hand, pulling him onto the bench and you placed your head atop his lap. Though you weren’t not tired, a mid-day nap in the sun just felt so nice.
·       Thankfully for Kokichi, you were asleep so you couldn’t see his giddy smile. Though with this seemingly becoming the new norm you’d likely catch him one of these days. For now he’d just indulge in this moment with you, his crush and worry about that when it happens.
   Nagito Komaeda:
·       Though you were an Ultimate, an amazing person who could take care of themself just fine, Nagito worried about you. You slept, a lot. No matter when or where you could find a place to nap should you want too. It wasn’t all the time though, Nagito still had many conversations with you and had gotten to see your talent firsthand, an extraordinary sight! When you were awake, you’d spend much of your time with him, often over analyzing him trying to see if there was a scientific cause for the outlandish phenomena that was his luck. Not surprising since you were a scientist. At times Nagito wondered if your mind worked so hard when you were awake, trying to solve every last mystery the world had to offer, that drove you to exhaustion so quickly. That would explain how you could be so excitedly chatting away about one theory of yours or another only for you to suddenly fall over, knocked out. Thankfully it seemed Nagito’s luck would kick in moments like that so he could catch you before your face smashed into the ground.
·       Always following you around, trying to keep your drowsy tendency from getting you into danger, from just always being beside he had become your assistant of sorts. Though he would never dare to insist on it, he always sneakily became the one to carry your stuff around in the end, even if you had started your journey with them. Taking you by your shoulders he’d steer you away from bumping into other people or objects. He would take your hand, but he felt unworthy of such an honor unless you decided he could and he knew if he did a bright scarlet would erupt on his cheeks and his heart would pick up in pace, things you surely would notice with your keen eye. When you were awake, nothing could get past you, so Nagito would have to be extra careful. He couldn’t let you figure out his feelings. He simply didn’t have it in him to confess and he was garbage, surely you wouldn’t reciprocate his feelings, but if you did somehow, it’s not like he would deny you, someone like him had no right to deny an Ultimate, or so he thought at least.
·       Although… Nagito couldn’t help his feelings seeping out, no matter how much he had tried to keep them inside. Often, he was just talking and suddenly he’d be complimenting you and about to say he loved you and he’d have to cut himself off by causing an ‘accident’ like tripping over chairs or abruptly changing his words to say something else. He was always left a flustered mess.
·       It was just another day when Nagito strolled into your lab, finding your workspace was filled with many documents, many taped to white boards with string attacked to each and every last one, some string simply linking two pages on the same board, others stretching across the room, forcing one to duck, and twist to avoid them all, one could compare it to avoiding the lights in the laser filled room in some generic spy flic. “Hmm, but how to go about testing this?” “Testing what?” “Oh, Komaeda! Perfect timing!” You strolled over to him, looking through some file, seemingly not paying attention to your surroundings yet still avoiding all that strings. “Today I’m studying human communication!” “Uh huh.” “And I wish to test something!” You looked to him with those stunningly bright eyes as you explained, completely captivating him. “The power of words. I wish to see if they are like water in a pipe. For comparison, imagine a person as the pipe and the words water. I wonder if say a person is upset, if speaking to another person was the only way to alleviate the pressure of those emotions, or if just speaking aloud, even to no one, if that’d alleviate the pressure as well, OR if something else would happen. Yes, each individual is different, but there could still be a majority! I’m thinking we’ll go about-” a yawn escaped you before you continued. “about this… by…” You took a small notebook from your pocket, quickly scribbling down notes as Nagito lead you to a couch in the corner of the room. Nagito already knew this was coming considering that ‘pipe’ comparison didn’t make much sense since pipes would still leak, even if with another pipe around.
·       He sat beside you on the couch and moments later you rested your head on his lap. You tried holding up the little book to him and when he took it your hand and arm went limp, you already fast asleep. Nagito couldn’t help but smile, seeing you already so restful. As usually he looked through your notebook, seeing what he needed to prepare in order to set up your tests. Curiously he also looked over your notes, wondering how your interest in astrology the day prior lead to this through your connective thinking. It was always fun seeing how you could draw connections between seemingly completely unrelated topics, then again that was likely how you were such a good scientist. As he continued to read, fascinated by your research he began to wonder something. Looking to you his heart melted. “I love you.” Immediately his heart raced, and he felt that heat raising to his cheeks. What if a person were to vent to another, even if they weren’t paying attention? Perhaps because he still had told you, he still would have gotten this off his chest and he’d stop almost confessing to you so often.
·       That was how Nagito had begun to whisper his affections to you as you slept. It was a thrill like no other, fearing you’d awake right as he confessed his feelings, yet also endlessly excited by the thought as well. There was more than a fair share of times where he was almost caught, but it seemed you were none the wiser to his words of love.
·       “Hmm? Komeada? What are you mumbling about?” For a moment he froze, love struck at your soft tender expression. “Ah-uh-Oh? I was speaking? I apologize if I woke you up.” You simply huffed in response… a-and you just kept looking at him? Oh boy. Did you know? Was he finally caught? What would your response be? What did you think of him? “Thank you.” “Huh?” You smiled, nuzzling into him. “having this… instantaneous version of narcolepsy… Even though I started studying, I could never figure out how to stop it, maybe that’s because I get distracted easily, I- wait, no. No tangents.” You took a deep breath trying to reorganize your thoughts. “It… can be scary, one moment being awake then suddenly asleep. Before you I’d often sleep on the train and go way past my stop and get lost. There have also been a number of near-death experiences like when I fell asleep when walking across the street. I… it’s nice, knowing you’re around. To keep me safe and keep an eye on me. And I guess waking up to hearing your voice, waking up knowing for a fact I was safe… I don’t know, it was just nice, and I want you to know, I truly do appreciate you putting up with me.”
·       How… how could you make him fall for you more and more so effortlessly? Well, if you liked hearing his voice when you woke up… maybe… maybe next time he wouldn’t stop speaking of his love for you, even as you awoke. After all, he could never deny you anything, especially not your own comfort and ease of mind.

Kokichi Ouma, Shinguuji Korekiyo, Shuichi Saihara, and Kaito Momota with a hyper, chaotic, and sarcastic SHSL Theorist S/O
"it's impressive how the jumpscares get less and less scary with each game" -youtube comment about the new fnaf game and lmfaoo it's so true
i was finished writing this other "thh boys" request and then my computer died and erased my progress so i just put it up on the mod doc for someone else to do and so i'm grumpy and i finished this
this probably has grammar mistakes i'm finishing this at 3:38 am my bad
-Mod Souda
Tumblr media
Kokichi Ouma
❤ He loves your energy. It's what attracted him to you. Like a magnet, he was drawn in; he was infatuated with you before he was in love with you. It was almost an obsession - you are perfect. You challenge him enough to keep him reeled in, and you give in enough to keep him interested. And your mind, god, he loves your mind. You think the same things he does - and you come to conclusions faster. He never knew somebody out there could share his brain capacity.
❤ He does not appreciate when you are sarcastic to him as much - but it's funny nonetheless.
"So what do you think?" You ask, your legs crossed over the arm of the chair. Around you is numerous books and notepads where you write your thoughts.
He raises his tone, smiling devilishly at you. "Hmm, you want to know my thoughts?"
You smile. You've already figured it out - and you want to know if he can, too. "Shoot your shot."
❤ The two of you run through the halls together playing tag when his mood is light enough. People like Tenko will chase you, trying to get you to stop, which only makes you run more.
❤ Escape room dates? LOL.
.
Shinguuji Korekiyo
❤ Likes to hear your opinion on certain historical events. Like the disappearances of indigenous tribes, Amelia Earhart, and other mysterious. For the worst cases, you'll lock yourself in your work room for at least a day before coming to him with your theory. You always find out information from scholars that he never even heard of - are you the shsl researcher, too? He doesn't exactly believe everything you say, that would be purely bias (wouldn't it?) but he certainly take a lot of your words as facts.
"The Greeks were particularly tranced with the idea of theories," he tells you, petting your neck as you lay in his lap.
"They sound fun at parties."
You can see the corners of his eyes wrinkling in a smile. "They certainly were..."
❤ He is particularly skilled at ignoring you during your chaotic messes. He's like "yes honey go you !" and just lets you run wild until you come home. Very supportive!
❤ When you bounce off the walls he just continues reading, or sewing, or whatever he finds himself busy with.
❤ He thinks your sarcasm is sexy. It always makes him pause, and he'll stare at you with his yellow eyes before continuing on with what he was saying.
.
Shuichi Saihara
❤ The perfect energy balance. You combat his quietness, and people are always surprised that the two of you are dating. Ouma consistently makes fun of him for 'picking someone so annoying', which you don't mind him saying at all, you have the theory that it is just self reflection. Your energy helps him get out of his shell, like, completely. You push him out of his comfort zone in a healthy way, and in a way that he doesn't even realize it's happening. He talks more when he's with you. He talks more and he speaks his mind more often, defending himself and stating his opinion on things that aren't investigation based.
"Look, I got us this to do together." You tear open the packaging and show him the box. An at-home investigation game. "Have you heard of it?"
"I haven't." He softly takes it from your hands and turns it around. You watch his soft eyes read it. His lashes are long, and when he blinks, they absorb the light of the lamp next to him.
"I think we'll solve it in at most ten seconds."
It makes him smile, although small, and your stomach gets filled with pride.
❤ His smile always gives you butterflies. It's often rare, and especially in public, so when you get him to laugh, it is incredible.
❤ He gets a bit insecure when you come into some of his investigations, just because he even though he is better at gathering clues, you are way quicker at putting them together cohesively. He gets a bit competitive, but not in an aggression way, more in an unconfident way.
.
Kaito Momota
❤ Half of your personality goes over his head. The sarcasm is beyond him, and he often takes you seriously, or else gets emotionally demoted because of your lack of usual enthusiasm. You can also stress him out - he thinks you're being chaotic to spite him, or to challenge his energy. But you also find it easy to flatter him because of this. Asking for his opinion makes him feel so prideful - he's like ah yes the shsl theorist needs ME.
He coughs, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "What- what?"
"Okay, so listen," you leave your hands on his shoulders so he can't wiggle away. And you keep him there, shaking him occasionally to make sure he's awake, explaining your theory and the faults in it.
He groans. "Just make a pro con list."
"Pro and cons - oh yes, that's a good idea, thank you." Your touch leaves him so fast that his eyes open wider. It shocks him, but he lets himself lay back into the bed as you close his bedroom door.
❤ He definitely, at first, kept you around for your intelligence. It made him feel smarter just having you by his side. Plus, he makes you feel a lot smarter. Sometimes he genuinely does impress you with his thought process in a "wow that was almost correct" way.
❤ You know that if he really tried, he could come to the right conclusions. You've seen him do it before. But he puts his tough personality in way of his mind. Which is fine by you, it just gives you more brain candy. You like to think.
❤ When you're too hyper he will wrap his strong arms around you and keep you in place. Else, he will force you to sit in front of you while he holds your hands and rocks you in place. It makes you giggle.

Here's the Pregame Shuichi Saihara x Reader smut
Tumblr media
Shuichi has always watched the Danganronpa Killing Games and fantasized about being in them, about being an Ultimate, specifically the Ultimate Detective. He's talked to others about this, which earned him harsh names like, Freak, Creep , Weirdo and Killer. The last one was mainly from the fact he said he wanted to make the most gruesome and painful murder. Shuichi never really liked anyone romantically until his senior year. A girl by the name Y/N L/N joined Springfield Academy as her beautiful H/C H/L and her E/C and her walk, it all begged him to ravage her. She's a very kind girl with the spirit of goddess, she surely will be perfect for Shuichi. Todays the day he will make his move, he got his usual uniform on along with his backpack and headed out towards school. He seen her talking to that boy Kokichi Oma. God he hated that boy, he's such a spineless boy. After his goddess left for class, he grabbed Kokichi by the collar of his shirt and gave him an angered look "what are you doing with my sweet goddess??" He almost yelled at him.
"Y-you mean Y/N?" he said meekly "S-she's just m-my partner in a p-project! I-I'm sorry!" he whimpered and held his hands up. How can someone like her want to be his project buddy?? This is unacceptable! His eyes swirled in slight madness but before he could make his move, he heard someone coming towards them. "say nothing about this and ill let you go" He said as Kokichi nodded quickly and was released from Shuichi's death grip. It was Y/N that was coming back, she seen Shuichi and smiled with a slight blush "Hey Shuichi!" she exclaimed as Shuichi blushed almost like a school girl with a crush on a jock. "H-hey Y/N!" he smiled, "Hey Kokichi are you ok?" She asked him as she noticed her friend all shaking up. Kokichi looked at Shuichi quickly before nodded "y-yeah! But Y-Y/N I don't wanna d-do that project a-anymore with you.." he said trying to avoid all contact with both Shuichi and Y/N. Y/N was confused "why? you seemed really into I-" "I-I JUST D-DON'T WANT T-TO DO IT!' he yelled and ran off in the opposite direction of the school. Y/N seemed heartbroken from her friend's shout. 'Did I do something wrong..?' she thought to herself as tears rolled down her face as her first and only friend at this new school just ran away from her like she's some monster. Shuichi hugged her "its ok, he was always so mean to others" he said, "really..?" "yeah, he's always been that way, let me help you finish that project" he said in a caring and passionate voice. "really? Thank you Shuichi! You're a life saver!" She kissed his cheek and ran off to school. He stood there, hand on his face as his blush spread from ear to ear. He soon followed to the school.
Throughout the day they spoke often and planned that evening that he would help her finish the project. Each hour was more and more excruciating for him, he could barely keep his own excitement in his pants.
As the school day ended, he couldn't be anymore excited or calm, as they walked home, he started to talk about the Danganronpa Killing games, and for once, someone wasn't scared or disgusted by this, she was actually a bigger fan then he was, was that even possible? Well to him its like heaven. Once they got to his home, he helped her with the project as he promised, though his pants couldn't get any tighter around him. They two finished the project fairly quick. "That's the last of it! Thank you so much Shuichi! Though I must get going, my family tends to get overworked up if I'm not home by 5pm" she then got up. 'That's it..? Just a simple thank you..? NO! That cant be it! He got up quickly as he pinned you to the wall, you yelped as his eyes stared into yours, your heartbeat got faster as your face flushed a deep pink. "S-Shuichi? What are you doing?" you asked as your voice is soft and low from fear. "A thank you wont satisfy me! I've been wanting to ram you since the day you entered the school, you now belong to me and only me, NO ONE ELSE!" he shouted as you flinched, yes you are scared but at the same time you're turned on by this erratic behavior. You did have a small crush on him since you met, but everyone kept saying he was a killer and creep so you never spoke to him all that much before today. His hand groped your right breast as the other felt your behind, he slipped your underwear off and tossed it. He then licked up from your open blouse to your neck, he sucked on it for while to make it deep blueish color. His eyes half closed yet filled with such lust. Within seconds he undid his pants to release his pulsing member. "W-Wait, I-I don't h-have a change of c-clothe-" Before you could finish your sentence, he slammed into your womanhood, piercing the small wall that once stood, making you tense up with small cries. He's so deep into lust and despair to realize your pain and continued to roughly thrust, his moans are from quiet as his easily over powered yours, filling the room with the smell of sex and the sounds of it. You soon felt more pleasure then pain as he gripped your bottom and shoved you closer to him his head on the wall, leaning against it to feel you and him from falling. Even with limited movement, he still thrusted into like there's no tomorrow, with each thrust, his member pulsed. He groaned as he got closer, you started to worry on the chance of pregnancy, "S-Shuichi, P-pull MhM out!" you pleaded trying to be audible only for the plead to fall deaf to his ears as he groaned and released his seed into your womb, filing it completely. His thrusts became softer and slower until he stopped. He pulled out as his seed spilled out, though it wasn't all of it. His rough actions left you dazed beyond conscious. He layed you onto the bed as he then thought about the game, if he was to join it, he may not make it out alive. What would his precious Y/N think if she was to see him die. He then laughed, "that wont happen..because ill be the Ultimate Detective!"
that was 1137 words! This took about 3 hours to write because I kept getting distracted! Hope you liked it!

Meet the cast of the newest season of Danganronpa!
One of these sixteen participants is in charge of this account. Just as a teaser, we'll give you a little more information on each of these people! Maybe you'll find some clues somewhere... Who knows!
Tumblr media
(From left to right)
Tumblr media
Tenko Chabashira, Ultimate Aikido Master:
Don't be fooled by her sweet smile! This firey girlboss could drop kick any man within a 50 foot radius without breaking a sweat. She founded her own form of Aikido, after all.
Tumblr media
Himiko Yumeno, Ultimate Magician:
Although you may remember her more from her death defying magic acts, this pint sized magician has more than just cards up her sleeves. Get it? Because she’s a magician? Haha.
Tumblr media
Kaito Momota, Ultimate Astronaut:
This hot-headed space cadet has been known to dabble in shady areas to reach his goals. Despite that, he's determined to be a positive influence on everyone he meets! Though, be careful what you say around him, or you may be getting yourself signed up for a knuckle sandwich.
Tumblr media
Miu Iruma, Ultimate Inventor:
Known to the world as the "gorgeous girl genius", you may remember her for her recent endeavors in the field of VR, and for her many contributions to Iidabashi Industries, or the Neo World Program. This fiesty inventor will definitely prove to be a challenging contestant to stand against.
Tumblr media
Gonta Gokuhara, Ultimate Entomologist:
Don't be fooled by his appearance! Although he may look intimidating, looks can be deceiving. This big guy wouldn't even hurt a fly!
...Although, he doesn't hold the same standards for people who hate bugs. He's Entomophobia-phobic.
Tumblr media
Tsumugi Shirogone:
You may remember her from the previous game as the Ultimate Author. This time, however, she's taking things a little different. She's the same ol' plain Jane as last time, though. Really, there's not much to say about her. You can just skip this paragraph, it won't make any difference.
Tumblr media
K1-B0:
Have you seen this robot in any way? Maybe you'll recognize the name "Iidabashi" a bit more. Yes, this is none other than THE Kiibo Iidabashi! Although I shouldn't spoil too much, they won't be the Mastermind this time around. That'd be too easy. Instead...
They'll be acting as your eyes on the inside! By using the hashtag #Dangan-choose, you can decide how they'll interact with their surroundings. Majority wins!
Tumblr media
Kaede Akamatsu, Ultimate Pianist:
Clever, brave and strong- this girl is gearing up to be one hell of a protagonist. She's definitely already shown herself to be an outstanding force to be reckoned with. She even intimidates me, and I'm the Mastermind.
Just don't get her started on Mozart or DeBussy. She'll talk your ear off for hours on end. Hopefully she'll get the hang of the protagonist role.
Tumblr media
Shuichi Saihara, Ultimate Detective:
It's any fans dream to see the son of two of the original DR castmates fight his way through the killing game like they once did. So, of couse for an anniversary such as this one, we had to drag him along! We had to pull a lot of strings to get him here, but rest assured... He's inherited a lot from his parents. Especially his knack for detective work.
Sadly, he doesn't like to talk about them all too much. We've got to avoid continuity errors somehow.

Himikiyo Week Day 5: Skirt + Lipstick
“This kind of meddling is rather unlike you,” Kirumi remarked that evening. “Setting them up on a date?"
After seeing Korekiyo and Himiko dance around each other for so long, Rantaro takes things into his own hands.
Read on AO3, DRA, or under the cut.
It was that time of year again. The season of parties, reunions, and all manner of other Danganronpa events. They existed all year long for those who wished to embrace their celebrity status, of course, but even the disinterested among them were dragged into the lead up to a new season. Season 53 was one of the biggest hits in a generation.
Without really meaning to, Rantaro had fallen into the role of the group’s big brother figure. Ironic, considering his utter failure at it in his fictional backstory. He liked helping his friends though, found more fulfillment in that than working on his own problems. He didn’t get much time to bond with anyone during the killing game, but he’d more than made up for it.
At the moment, he was in the hotel room of one Yumeno Himiko. One of the most resentful of the fame bestowed on all of them, she always required a little extra encouragement in the days before big events. That...wasn’t always because of Team Danganronpa though.
“It’s okay to feel anxious about seeing them,” Rantaro said, summoning every bit of patient encouragement in his possession. “Or even to be looking forward to it. Other people’s grudges don’t need to affect what you do, you know.”
“It’s not like that!” she exclaimed, sounding downright panicked. The blush spreading across her face told a different story, along with the soft-looking plushie she was absentmindedly hugging. Even at a glance, the long, dark hair and green uniform were unmistakable. It was the official Shinguuji Korekiyo plush from the DR53 line. It had been one of the lower sellers, compared to others like Ouma or Saihara who were sold out for months. Himiko’s copy was clearly well-loved though, if she even went to the effort of bringing it along to a hotel.
“Are you sure?” He raised an eyebrow, letting his gaze drop to the plushie to tell her he noticed it.
“It doesn’t mean anything,” Himiko argued back stubbornly. “It’s just something soft to hug. Theirs was on sale. It’s not like I kiss its forehead and tuck it into bed or something.”
“Mhm.” She definitely did exactly that. “Well, if you don’t care at all about seeing Shinguuji, I guess there’s no need to talk about it anymore, right?”
“Right. No need.”
“On another topic then, I know a good restaurant nearby. We could head over there for dinner tonight if you don’t have plans with anyone else.”
“Sure.” She perked up some then, plushie still securely in her arms. “That’d be good.”
“Then shall we meet in the park at 7:00?”
---
After leaving Himiko’s hotel room, Rantaro didn’t return to his own. No, he had another friend to pay a visit to.
“Amami-kun, what brings you here? I don’t recall making plans with anyone.” Korekiyo tilted their head in curiosity, hand coming up to cover their unmasked face. It seemed a subconscious gesture, a lingering instinct to keep from being seen. Himiko would surely know more about that than Rantaro though. He’d caught her looking at photos and tabloid articles about them more than once.
“Oh, no, we didn’t have any plans,” he said, chuckling softly. “I apologize for catching you off-guard, Shinguuji-san. In fact, I came here to find out if you’d be interested in making some.”
“Making plans with you? Ah, well, it’s kind of you to offer, but...”
“Hoping for someone else?” he asked. Just as predicted, Korekiyo’s eyes widened, a clear sign of someone whose true feelings had been discovered.
“I wouldn’t dream of being so rude,” they demurred. “It isn’t as though I have people lining up to spend time with me these days, yes? I should accept invitations as they come.”
“If you’re sure. I happen to know Himiko’s room number if you’d prefer to ask her.”
“I...it’s not like that. Even if I did wish to invite Yumeno-san out, she wants nothing to do with me. The same is true of most of our group.”
“Then do you want to grab dinner tonight? I know a great place nearby. We could meet in the park at 7:00?”
“That...would be acceptable. Thank you, Amami-kun.”
---
“This kind of meddling is rather unlike you,” Kirumi remarked that evening. “Setting them up on a date? That seems more like something Kaede might do.”
“Maybe I’m learning from her,” Rantaro said with a laugh. “It’s about time those two sort out their differences. They can claim to be at odds all they want, but they’re the only people who really believe they’re enemies. Well, maybe Chabashira-san too, but that’s more wishful thinking than anything else.”
“Here’s hoping it works out.” Offering him a mischievous grin from over the rim of her teacup, she added, “I owe Ouma-kun some money if they don’t get together by the end of the year, and it’s already fall.”
“I don’t think you have to worry.”
---
Where the hell was Rantaro? Himiko had arrived at the park right on time, but there was no sign of him anywhere. It wasn’t like him to be late or stand people up — not without a serious reason to do so. The park was relatively small, so it didn’t seem likely that she could have simply missed him.
Just as she was debating whether she should try to text him and ask where he was, she caught sight of someone out of the corner of her eye. Even before she turned her head to look though, she could tell that it wasn’t him. This figure was taller and didn’t radiate his relaxed confidence in the least.
Korekiyo? An unmasked Korekiyo at that. She still wasn’t used to them being more lax about face coverings these days.
“Oh, um, Shinguuji. What a coincidence seeing you here.” Her voice sounded forced and awkward even to herself. She wished the ground would just swallow her up and save her from needing to interact with them, but no amount of wishing would make that dream come true. The world seemed dead set on reminding her of her (unfortunate, tragic, hopeless) crush at every possible opportunity.
“There are no accidents in this world,” they replied, sounding ominous as usual. “And in any case, it shouldn’t be that surprising, yes? Seeing someone at a park mere moments from the hotel where you’re both staying isn’t a terribly unlikely thing to occur.”
“Well, yeah, I guess so. It doesn’t really matter, I was just making conversation or something.” Her voice trailed off more and more until it was barely a half-whispered mutter, any semblance of confidence stomped out by embarrassment. “Anyway, uh, I’m actually supposed to be meeting Rantaro here to go to dinner together. Have you seen him?”
“You’re supposed to be meeting with Amami-kun?”
“Is there something weird about that?” It was a defensive question, one that slipped out before she was able to stop herself. Surely Rantaro never let any of her secrets slip, right? There was no way Korekiyo could know what kinds of things she said about them to Rantaro.
“As a matter of fact, yes, there is something weird. I’m supposed to be meeting him for dinner too.”
“What?”
Instinctively, she glanced around looking for cameras or anything else that might hint at this being some kind of staged interaction. She wouldn’t put it past some of the entertainment industry to spring something like that on her unannounced. However, there was nothing, nor did she really think Korekiyo would play along with something like that. Of their group, they were one of the most resentful about what they’d been through. Understandably so.
“I was asked to meet him here at 7:00,” they said, briefly pulling out their phone to confirm the time again. “It seems Amami-kun may have double booked himself.”
“Why would he do that?” Himiko wondered aloud. “It isn’t like him to be so careless.”
“Ah, you two are close then? I did notice that you’re on a first name basis.” Kiyo gave her a placid look, fixing their already perfect hair. God, they really were unfairly pretty. So much so that she felt a pang of jealousy at the realization that anyone could look over and see exactly what she was seeing right now.
“No, not really.” They were wearing black lipstick instead of their usual red, and the striking green of their eyeshadow made their amber color even brighter than usual. “We’re friends, but I don’t know if I’d say we’re close. It’s pretty casual.”
“I see. I am not close to him either. In fact, I was rather surprised by his invitation today. If he decided to back out, it wouldn’t be much of a shock. I’m much less convinced he would do something like that to you though.”
“What does that mean?” she asked, raising an eyebrow. “Why are we so different?” Their outfit was gorgeous too, almost all black but no less intriguing for the lack of variety. Her eyes couldn’t help but trace the lines of their slightly too long sleeves (impressive, given how lanky they were) and flowy skirt.
“You know exactly why. I don’t think I need to give you a refresher course on that, Yumeno-san.”
She just sighed, not sure what she was meant to say in response to that.
“Well, it doesn’t really matter what you think about it. Likely or not, he’s standing both of us up.”
“Unless...” The word was spoken so softly that Himiko wasn’t sure she was meant to hear it. Did they have some other idea about what could be going on?
Clearing their throat briefly, Kiyo continued. “If Amami-kun does turn out to be a no show...I suppose we could still go to the restaurant he chose. Together. If that’s something you’d be interested in.”
“Yeah.” She smiled softly, thinking of the Kiyo plushie snuggled up safe and sound in her hotel room. Could...this have been Rantaro’s plan all along? She still had her doubts about whether Kiyo returned her feelings, but they were asking her to dinner. “We could do that.”
---
By the time they’d been seated in a cozy, dimly lit corner, it was abundantly clear that the restaurant was a romantic one, meant to cater to couples on dates. If it hadn’t already been obvious that the whole situation was some sort of set up on Rantaro’s part, that would have cemented it. He wanted them to go on a date.
She was afraid of getting her hopes up.
“Seems like a nice place,” she remarked, fiddling with the edge of her menu. Aside from the quiet background noise of other patrons talking and soft music, the quiet at their table was deafening. Not much conversation happened on the walk over either, mainly small talk about their day to day lives and those of their fellow alumni.
“Yes, it does,” Kiyo echoed. “Not the sort of establishment I would have pegged Amami-kun as frequenting.” She wondered if they were nervous or if she was just imagining the signs of tension. The stiff slope of their shoulders, the tenuous edge to their voice...
“Yeah, maybe not his type of place. Does that mean it’s yours?”
“It could be. There’s beauty in things like this, even if I’ve grown somewhat disillusioned with humanity as a whole.”
“And...is anything else here your type?” The instant the words escaped her mouth, she felt mortified. A moment’s bravery had been enough to say something like that? It was all she could do not to slink down in shame, face hot as she took a sip of water. “Um, never mind actually, that was a silly question.”
“No, I don’t believe it was. There is something else here that’s my type, believe it or not.” The mood lighting made it difficult to tell for sure, despite the lack of their usual mask, but it seemed like they could have been blushing.
“Really? And are you going to tell me what?”
“I wonder,” they said, lips curving into a smile. “Do you have any suspicions?”
“I might. If I’m right about why Rantaro planned all this out, then that doesn’t leave too many options.” She was far from an expert at the art of flirtation, but she suspected the same might be true of them. As suave as they often managed to seem in the past, it was a facade, part of the character Team Danganronpa created for them. Or perhaps not even that. Even for the ‘ideal’ Korekiyo, the one that only ever existed on paper, that confidence wasn’t so genuine. Not to the extent of really being able to open up and be vulnerable.
It wasn’t the time to make herself sad thinking of what they had to go through. If they saw any accidental hints of pity in her eyes, it could ruin everything. All she could do was try her best at chasing after what she really wanted.
“Care to share your deductions, then?” Was it intentional, the way their hand was sliding closer to her along the table? They’d never been one to take the prospect of physical contact lightly.
“I’m no detective,” she said, needing to suppress a shiver when their fingertips just barely grazed her own. Their nail polish was black too, matching their lipstick. No rings of the sort Rantaro still tended to wear, but she had a feeling they’d suit them. Any kind of jewelry would be lucky to adorn them.
“I don’t believe you need to be. In fact, I’d say the answer is quite obvious.”
Himiko chuckled. Their fingers were tangling together in earnest now, unmistakable as anything but what it was — holding hands.
“I know everyone kind of pushes us to keep up certain appearances. The media, the fans...even our friends, whether they mean to or not. They expect things,” she said softly. It was why it didn’t take her long after the end of the killing game to figure out that she shouldn’t talk about Kiyo too much, or with anyone who couldn’t keep a secret. The others found her interest strange, even repulsive. They were supposed to be enemies, forced into that box largely by people who didn’t have anyone’s best interests at heart.
“Yes, they do,” Kiyo agreed. Rather than launching into a long, anthropology-tinted lecture as they might have been prone to doing in the past, they seemed content to simply listen and reflect on what she had to say, allowing her to talk and draw conclusions on her own.
“Not many people would be happy about the idea of us getting closer, but...” She glanced down at the table, at how nicely their hands fit together. There in the corner, none of the other people in the restaurant had noticed who they were. Danganronpa fans were everywhere, but that didn’t mean it was impossible to steal moments of peace.
“But you’re tired of organizing your life around what other people think, yes? And Amami-kun for one, though I can’t claim to know him on a very deep level, seems supportive. I would go as far as saying enthusiastic. I can’t recall anyone else attempting to pry about my romantic life.” They paused, then clarified, “Not with benign intentions, that is.”
“So you’d be interested in it too? Getting to know each other better instead of always acting like we’re still enemies?”
“I never considered you my enemy in the first place, Yumeno-san. I would be honored to be given that chance.”
There was no doubt those words were genuine. For someone who slipped so easily into the role of villain, Kiyo was remarkably free of malice towards...anyone, really, save for some Team Danganronpa higher ups.
“Then I guess we could even call this a date.”
Still clasping her hand, they lifted it just enough to brush a kiss over the back of it, leaving a barely noticeable smudge behind.
“That we could.”

HimiKiyo Week 2021 Day 4: I Am Not Your Queen
// Mastermind Kiyo AU for day 4! Because that’s a pretty good reason to be enemies. Could things be different? It’ll take a while for these two to figure out.
Word Count: 2848

“That’s right. If all other alibis check out…” Shuichi said, hand on his chin. This was the final class trial, everyone’s fate hinged directly on what was going to happen next. It depended on the case they’ve built up so far being absolutely correct. One irrefutable accusation and the mastermind’s entire game was crumbling to pieces like a house of cards. “Then there can only be one person that was behind the lies that killed Kaede, Rantaro, and all our other friends.”
His finger pointed across and to his left, at the person standing between Tsumugi and Maki at their trial bench. “Korekiyo Shinguji, you’re the real mastermind behind the killing game!”
The detective's words echoed throughout the room, bouncing off the walls. Himiko, in spite of how many times others called her “slow” grew increasingly silent as the discussion kept going back to them and their actions from earlier. They had been outed as a serial killer in a previous trial but in spite of everything they helped Himiko at her lowest point immediately after what had happened with Angie and Tenko.
She remembered crying on Kiyo’s shoulder, listening to their soothing voice put her at ease, advice like a wise sage being passed down. Each and every time she needed it, she would go to that anthropology lab. Each time her footsteps took her in, her feelings only grew stronger. Her first kiss was in there, with them. Before what happened there was a pull she felt, but she never got much of a chance to get close with how intimidating they came off as.
Kiyo, who was now replying calmly as though none of it was bothering them. This was how it started in the other trial too, So that should be reassuring right?
“Yes, it was me.” they said, “I just so happened to pick up my own after noticing Kaede had taken one with help from my nanokumas.”
Oh.
Oh no.
And now it felt like the world was crumbling again. Only instead of feeling deflated and alone she was enraged. Enraged that the case against Kiyo didn’t have any holes in it. How could it be true? And now just admitting to it?
“Was all of that… was all of it a lie Kiyo?” she begged that what they had was real. Even now standing across from them as enemies.
“No. I’ve been up front with you this whole time. There were simply parts of the story you weren’t ready to know. And you still… aren’t ready yet.”
“But you- but you-” words escaped the Mage, leaving her unable to think calmly and properly. “You could have stopped this at any point, but you kept going.” She didn’t even notice they felt a tinge of fear underneath the words she was replying to.
“Why assume I have enough control to end it early, that would be going far off-script.” A small bead of sweat formed which the killer wiped away.
Wait… off script? What did something like that even mean?
Himiko turned to notice that Maki was giving them a death glare. “Because you’re the mastermind, obviously.”
“Oh, I see. In that case… no, I wasn’t working alone to do this.” they began to explain. “This wouldn’t have been possible without Team Danganronpa and all the fans watching right this very minute!”
“T-Team… D-Danganronpa?” Tsumugi stuttered in shock.
“Yes, the studio that put together the killing game with me on the ground so to speak to act on their behalf. We are not actually the only ones left alive, there are more humans alive than any other time in history and millions upon millions of them tune into this program.“
“The world is… fine?” Kiibo pondered. The revelation made him tense about what his inner voice may be.
“Why would the world want a killing game?”
Kiyo responded “It works as a kind of release valve, I suppose. Conflicts have dwindled over the existence and increasing popularity of this show after all.”
“Can we… Can we go home? Kiyo please, let me go, let *us* go. You can do that right?”
“Even though it is not destroyed, you still cannot.” The other voice came from Korekiyo once more. Sister was back in action. Sternly she looked over each of the remaining survivors. As though she was looking down on them.
Himiko glared at her from under her hat. “You again.” While she was feeling so complicated about Korekiyo right now, she unambiguously disliked their “Sister”. Then it hit her. Maybe if the Sister personality was the one that was the one really in charge she could forgive them… maybe.
It would take a lot after something as horrible as this. Especially since Maki and Shuichi swore to never forgive the mastermind, she was certain that she wouldn’t either. Even if Kiyo was just a lackey it would take time to trust again.
“I’m pleased you’ve all made it this far.” Sister said, sounding incredibly pleased with herself, rather than anything they’d accomplished. “I wasn’t sure you had it in you. I’d like you all to meet the fans.”
The blush bear sweated, making the cartoon ‘awooga’ sound like a character seeing an attractive person. “Yes ma’am.”
Futuristic gears spun in front of Monokuma, bringing a keyhole to in front of him, he stuck the key in and several screens proceeded to descend. Faces appeared: Asian, white, black, men, women, even children. Various expressions across their features. None of them stayed long enough for any witness to recognize, even if they remembered anyone they had known.
“These are the fans of Danganronpa.” Sister explained. “Danganronpa is their collective favorite show. The 53rd season has been one of the most successful in years.
The discussion was halted. It was surreal, more so than even waking up here originally was. All of those people had been watching the whole time.
Himiko asked “So the fans they saw… everything?” Did they know who the mastermind was?”
“I presume some of them did, but this reveal is equally for their benefit. There’s a vibrant debate each season about who the mastermind is and how they did it. Occasionally spoilers will get leaked.”
“So this… was the killing real?” Tsumugi’s voice wavered as she tried to speak up.
“Yes, that part was real. The people playing those eliminated characters are gone from this world as well as the real one.” Sister took off Kiyo’s hat and put it across their chest looking solemn. “They knew there was a strong chance of that, and signed up like many other fans before them.”
“Was it you or Korekiyo who committed Rantaro’s murder?” Shuichi prodded. The shock was wearing off. The trial was continuing at last in the wake of 2 extremely unnerving revelations.
“I feel like that’s a question dear Korekiyo should give the answer to.” Their shared body pulled up the mask and Kiyo began to speak again
“It was as I said many times, I’m only meant to be an observer. I… admittedly broke that role when I chose to do what I did. I even apologized to them, to myself for it.”
“Then why, surely you must have had a reason.” Shuichi prodded.
“Regrettably for my ethnography, our class that should have been in a completely fresh, sealed environment was muddied when I did it. Sometimes what I want comes into conflict with a higher power and they were banking on Rantaro Amami’s death being the hook for the episode.”
“So then Kaede’s shot put ball really missed…then why didn’t you kill all of us when we got the answer wrong? Simply f--for Television ratings?”
“I’m afraid the answer to that is yes. That is why everyone survived the sham trial. The fans would have completely revolted.”
“But maybe we’d be spared this revolting game continuing. Do you understand all of this is wrong?” Maki shot at them.
“Those are quite the harsh words from a professional killer. Though… maybe I shouldn’t say that, your backstory is fake after all.”
“So then… I didn’t spend all that time…” Maki muttered. That wouldn't stop all of it from feeling deeply real.
“No you did not. That is part of the Ultimate Real Fiction.” Kiyo explained. “It was put into your mind by the flashback lights, as Shuichi deduced. All of our lives were.”
“Being fundamentally changed into a completely different person with a completely different life… what kind of cruel person would force someone to-” Maki
“Forced to?” Kiyo asked quizzically. “No, I can assure you every one of you wanted this. Team Danganronpa takes all of your input very seriously.”
“Our… input?” Himiko asked.
Kiyo clapped their hands together. “Of course. Now I shall show you!”
The screen cut away from the faces of the fans and to some kind of tape. Shuichi Saihara stood in front of the camera. He spoke about how he loved Danganronpa and wanted to be a detective character.
He finished with “ And I’d do anything to be in danganronpa. I will come up with the best, most gruesome murders. Everyone would love it! And, a detective character hasn’t been the blackened yet, so I’m sure I could do that. I’m even thinking about the perfect punishment… for the ultimate detective.”
His glee was evident. Someone so against the killing right now had been one of the biggest fans ever, with a Junko like joy in thinking about how he would be punished as the culprit. It really was like before coming here he wasn’t the same person.
They even went so far as to play Kaede and Kaito’s revealing in part they had said things like “I don’t have any faith in humanity” and “I’m going to kill everyone and win.” respectively.
“So you see… none of us were the same. If you like how you are now then you may stay perhaps? Finish the fight of hope against despair. Or we, as friends, could all stay here?”
“No, we won’t do that.” Shuichi said, pointing dramatically. “Right guys? The only way to get through and win this. It’s to reject hope and despair. The very premise of Danganronpa.”
It was put up to a vote. Before that, the outside world had tried to argue Hope or Despair, reinforcing the choice. But the cast continued to refuse.
“We’ll end this with our own hands!”
It came and went. And… Everybody abstained.?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kiibo flew out of the trial room, determined to end the entire killing game now no matter the cost. Everyone would finally be free. All he needed was to finish off this prison school with his upgrades. Rocket boosters made it easy to fly to the next part to blow up.
Down below him, the remaining survivors stood in the courtyard. Kiyo had stopped right before outside. Himiko stopped as soon as she noticed they weren’t running like the others. And those three stopped everything because their friend was endangering herself.
She approached them, which caused a curious head tilt. They had been waving before that moment. It should have been goodbye forever.
“I can’t… let it end like this. It shouldn’t end with you dying like Junko.”
“Why not? Do you not doubt my feelings? I’m just playing my part after all.”
“Your part, look… about that, listen.”
“And what a grand p-” It seemed like they wanted their final words to be some grandiose speech.
“We don’t have time, please.” She grabbed them by the hand, watching the school building collapse further as it became less able to hold its own weight with all the holes punched in each wall. Over her shoulder she pleaded with Maki to help move the obstinate murderer.
The rock above must have spurred Maki on. If she had done nothing, surely both of them would have been crushed. And as painful as it was to keep someone who worked for the captors around she wasn’t about to lose another friend after watching what had happened with Kaito and Kokichi getting themselves killed in that harebrained scheme.
If it ended like that, it felt like it was disrespecting their plan to stop the killing.
Maki also helped Himiko pull Kiyo away towards an opening that formed after Kiibo blew himself up to take the cage down with him. Four people crawled through, blinded by a bright expanse.
Birds chirped. Several voices could be heard shouting. It was time to go home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The campus was in a bright field. In fact they could clearly see the ruined courtyard from where they all stood. The wall was broken down and so all that was left behind was the twisted, warped metal of their former cage and the buildings they had walked for the several months they were in a fictional world cut off from everything else.
The line separating the two worlds was broken. It was really that thin the whole time. And it reflected the true reality they found around them.
It was as unfamiliar as their memory of waking up inside what they had just left. Nobody but the mastermind retained any memory of ever being in this place.
They were led to a hallway by uniformed employees, many rooms lining each side of it. It looked exactly like the dorms that had been in the fictional hope’s peak. Save for the fact all the placards were for them: the survivors and the deceased.
If there was much spoken, Himiko didn’t pay attention to it. She didn’t know what to say, how to process much of it internally.
Korekiyo was much more aware and listened, chiming in hoping to be helpful in spite of the fact none of them would want their help.
The mastermind was almost always scripted to be killed, to be thoroughly and finally defeated by the hope of the students. It was in fact what they had agreed to happen. This class was very different. Shuichi and Kaito and Maki of course, but the whole time Himiko was special too.
And she didn’t remember why that was.
They had agreed in private at some point before the procedure to fully become their characters but after the first scene’s rehearsal that it would be terrible if only one of the two had to die. In the moment of escape there was a split second where Kiyo could swear a spark in her eyes indicating some kind of memory of this.
Was it an unspoken acknowledgement? They had to check. If she had really remembered something, then maybe there wasn’t a need to perform a routine as enemies. And they could be forgiven for what happened. At least, more easily so than if she did not recall what things were like leading up to the actual game.
After things settled down, Himiko and Kiyo privately met once again. Both were nervous.
“Himiko Yumeno. I… would like to ask you something.”
She didn’t look up, just sitting in the chair and debating whether or not she should be afraid of them. They could go back to being Sister at any point, and that would really freak her out.
“Go ahead.” the redhead muttered.
“Why did you save me?” Kiyo leaned forward trying to listen more closely.
“I don’t know. I… maybe it was a mistake letting you live. For some reason though I felt… like I had to.”
Maki, Shuichi, and Tsumugi certainly let her know how much of a mistake they thought it was. It didn’t feel good, even if the latter two tried their best to be polite about it.
“If it makes you feel any better I’m not sure how I feel about this either.”
“Do you… no, did you want to die Kiyo?”
“Yes. I was quite fine with it.” they held their tongue upon finishing, hesitating. That statement was not entirely true. They had accepted it, but part of them still felt bad that only she would get out of this if they had. And that was debatably the worst outcome. The other two options would have been preferable, and they got one of them!
“I… well you know how much I wanted to die in the killing game. How scared I was.”
“I knew how much you wanted to die before, from your audition.”
That reminded her. “Why didn’t you show any from mine then?”
“I…” Kiyo started, rubbing the back of their neck. “I was sure you would hate me even more than you already should if I showed it the way I did the others.”
“Can you show me it?” she perked up a little bit. Why were they so concerned about if she hated them? They certainly seemed willing to tell her all sorts of things even though they were enemies.
They nodded and produced a USB drive. They walked over to a laptop and put it in. “And if you don’t remember anything after this, I’ll tell you everything.”
“Promise?” she pleaded with them.
“Yes.” a small smile was hidden by their mask. Maybe being enemies wasn’t a forever thing.

Sorry to play devils advocate, but isn't it possible that Kokichi was actually referencing Miu herself when he made that morbid joke? Him, Gonta, and Miu were always working together in the background, and I think it's very possible that Kokichi probably held some affection for them, platonic or otherwise. I personally think it's strictly platonic, but I still think Kokichi did love Gonta and Miu, and the idea of that joke being a reference to his feelings for Miu lines up too...
See, I could potentially see that line referring to Miu--if Ouma didn’t explicitly talk about Saihara “rejecting him” and “what a shame it was” right before the rest of the line.
Don’t get me wrong anon, I do absolutely think you’re right about the fact that Ouma did care about both Gonta and Miu. As I discussed in a meta piece I actually posted yesterday, I don’t think Miu and Ouma hated each other nearly as much as they pretended to on the surface, hence their ability to collaborate together and make inventions that were meant to end the killing game.
Not only that but Ouma didn’t want anyone to die, let alone Miu. It’s not until chapter 6 that we really see full proof of this with his motive video, but he held very strong convictions against murder and violence, and he hated the fact that he broke that moral code so much that he refused to do essentially the same thing in chapter 5, even when he would’ve had every opportunity to let Momota and Maki die in his place.
As someone he partnered with and as one of his classmates, I do 100% think Ouma cared about her, and that he resented himself for orchestrating her death, even if it was partly in self-defense.
However, that doesn’t mean that it makes any sense to say that the “person I fell in love with” part of the quote refers to her, particularly when we lack any other context that would suggest that. The second half of the quote certainly foreshadows Miu’s death, but nothing about the rest of the quote, or even their interactions throughout the rest of the game, suggest at all that they felt romantically about one another.
Ouma repeatedly, consistently remarks on Saihara throughout the game. Not only are there the lines in his FTEs, love hotel, and salmon mode, but even in actual plot-relevant scenes like investigations and trials, he constantly singles Saihara out, making comments about how he’s “always thinking about him” and therefore wants him to be happy, or how “Saihara is his favorite, so he’ll tell him anything he wants to know.”
He doesn’t make these types of comments, with this degree of frequency, towards Miu or anyone else. In fact, the only time he ever “confesses” his love to someone else is when Momota pretends to be him in the chapter 5 trial (which is pretty amusing in its own way).
It feels completely unfair to take the line completely out of context and ignore all the other many, many lines prior to this scene which already indicated how Ouma felt about Saihara and say that they’re unnecessary or don’t matter. These lines and scenes are shown to us for a reason: we’re supposed to get the sense that Ouma is clearly playing favorites with Saihara in a way that he doesn’t with anyone else.
If Ouma had gotten jealous and made a cute nickname for Miu in an earlier chapter, if he had her picture singled out on his whiteboard next to a line implying that he couldn’t figure her out, or if he were constantly calling her his “favorite person” or saying that he was “always thinking of her,” then I do think anyone, myself included, would have to admit that he probably did have romantic feelings for her.
But as it stands, most of their interaction involves the two of them insulting each other and tearing each other down in the trials, or Ouma just telling Miu to shut her mouth entirely. I think he cared about her as his classmate and even as something close to a friend, given that they collaborated for so long to try and stop the killing game, and he did not want to see her dead, at all. But none of their other interactions really indicates that either of them felt romantically about each other.
I hope I don’t come across as harsh, but I do have to wonder if nearly as many people would try to argue with me about this line or about Ouma having canonical romantic feelings for Saihara if saiouma was a m/f ship. Ouma’s feelings for Saihara are laid out in such a clear-cut way in the original dialogue of the game, even downright identical to Maki’s own love confession towards Momota, but people only seem to want to accept one of these as being “canon” while people argue with me about Ouma’s every step of the way.
I’ve stated multiple times that I’m not saying that saiouma as a ship is canon--only that Ouma’s feelings for Saihara are. If people don’t like the ship, or don’t think Saihara would reciprocate even outside of the killing game, that’s perfectly fine. But having a gay character canonically, explicitly confess their romantic feelings for another character is unfortunately still rare and hard to come by in mainstream games and stories nowadays, and it makes me more just a little tired that there are so many people who immediately want to write it off or else ignore all the other context in the entire game that backs up the idea that, yes, Ouma is in love with Saihara.
In short: I do think that Ouma cared about Miu, and Gonta, and all his classmates, as he’s stated multiple times that the lengths he goes to are “for everyone’s sake,” and we know for a fact that he didn’t actually want to see anyone die or get hurt. But given all the other context from the entire game, it’s pretty clear that he’s not talking about being in love with Miu--particularly when right after this line, he continues to compete with Momota for Saihara’s attention during the investigation repeatedly.
Keep in mind, I’m also not saying people can’t ship Ouma with any other character besides Saihara. I personally enjoy a few other ships with Ouma, too, and shipping is a matter of personal preference and headcanons anyway. People’s feelings change all the time, and crushes usually don’t last forever anyway. I just think it’s important to not erase the fact that he does have these feelings for Saihara, canonically, and that his romantic interest in Saihara is an important part of his motivations for a good chunk of the game.
Anyway, I hope I was clear enough in my response. Thank you for your question anon, and I hope you have a good day.

The Devil’s Eye.
Tumblr media
Kaede was kidnapped!?
Tumblr media
She...she remembered some things...Things that I didn’t want her to remember...
Tumblr media
And when she remembered, she ran away...Out on the street...And that van drove up and those people in masks took her away...
Tumblr media
Can you describe them? Other than their faces I mean...
Tumblr media
One of them was about 5 foot, and the other was probably about 6 feet...Those outfits hid any sort of physical attribute they had, other than their height...
Tumblr media
But they weren’t wearing gloves, which gives me a little bit of hope about our situation.
Tumblr media
How do you figure?
Tumblr media
Well, that means we can dust Kaede for fingerprints?
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
It was a joke. Well, mostly.
Tumblr media
I do think we should dust for fingerprints, but not Kaede. Whoever drove that van might’ve left their prints on the wheel.
Tumblr media
Of course, we’ll need to find the van first, but for a group of Phantom Thieves, these guys are pretty much amateurs...
Tumblr media
Oh, yeah, you said you used something called the “Devils Eye” but...what exactly is that?
Tumblr media
Chihiro. If I give you these to analyze, can you do it while I explain it to Shuichi?
*She hands her a USB.
Tumblr media
Sure, but...analyze what?
Tumblr media
The footage on that file shows the license plate of the car they stashed De-De in and some other info. If you analyze it, you might be able to track it.
Tumblr media
Alright. I’ll give it to Alter Ego to process.
Tumblr media
Leave it to me!
*Chihiro heads to the giant computer in her office where Alter Ego sits comfortably, and begins to analyze the video footage Setsuka gave her.
Tumblr media
Where did you even get this video? You didn’t have a video camera on you when Kaede was taken.
Tumblr media
Right, well, sit tight and prepare for Detective Setsuka’s tragic backstory.
Tumblr media
How long is this story?
Tumblr media
Long enough for Chihiro to get that info checked. You don’t have an awful lot else to do, right?
Tumblr media
I-I suppose not...
Tumblr media
Ok, so, I don’t know if I mentioned this, but when I went to Hope’s Peak Academy as a kid, I was entered as the Ultimate Billiards Player.
Tumblr media
Billiards is...a sport, right? I’m not exactly a sports person, sorry...
Tumblr media
It’s fine. Billiards is any sport like Pool or Snooker that’s generally played with a cue stick, which is used to strike balls and thereby cause them to move around a cloth-covered billiards table bounded by elastic bumpers known as cushions. The goal of most of these games is to knock the balls into 6 different holes positioned equally around the table.
Tumblr media
My dad was a famous Billiards player, which made me want to start a career in the sport. But one day, I was heading to the place where one of my dads tournaments were being held when...
Tumblr media
I kinda got into a car accident.
Tumblr media
Accident!? Were you ok!?
Tumblr media
Well, I’m not dead am I?
Tumblr media
A-Actually, scratch that...I forgot I WAS dead until recently...
Tumblr media
But no, the accident didn’t kill me...though it did a number on my face...I had to go through surgery.
Tumblr media
I’m not sure if I could say the surgery was a success or a failure. One one hand, I lived, but on the other, my right I was badly ruptured...
Tumblr media
The Doctor’s solution? An eye transplant surgery or surgery to replace my eye with an artificial one, to stop me going blind.
Tumblr media
Eye transplant!? I-Is that even possible!?
Tumblr media
Well, I’ve been gone for a while, so I don’t really know how much the world has changed...But at the time, no it wasn’t. No one had ever even attempted it before.
Tumblr media
Naturally, both my parents were avidly against the idea. They’d rather me go blind instead of undergo the almost impossible transplant...
Tumblr media
So...what happened?
Tumblr media
They did it anyway...
Tumblr media
Why!?
Tumblr media
No clue, but hey, it worked...mostly.
Tumblr media
“Mostly?”
Tumblr media
Well, there WAS some side-effects...mainly...
Tumblr media
The replacement eye was able to record everything to my memory, basically giving me a video camera in my head that played back memories over and over again.
Tumblr media
S-Seriously?
Tumblr media
It sounds ridiculous, I know, but I’m telling you the truth...
Tumblr media
N-No, I believe you...I’ve definitely seen more ridiculous things in my life...
Tumblr media
But the eye also comes with some downsides...For example, I get really dizzy if I open both eyes because I’m seeing the past and present at the same time...
Tumblr media
I’m more open about it now, prior to my death on Utsuroshima, only three people ever found out. My parents and Sora. I’m sure you’ve heard of Sora, right?
Tumblr media
Once or twice from Yoruko, yes.
Tumblr media
Alright, well, continuing on, it wasn’t soon after that I entered the world of billiards. Pretty soon, I was winning against pros, and even became one of the youngest players to win a world tournament. I was destined to improve my talent, and then Hope’s Peak scouted me. I was at the top of my game...
Tumblr media
And then the game turned on me...
Tumblr media
What happened?
Tumblr media
The truth about my recording eye eventually came out. I was found out to be cheating and...I was banned from the billiards community for life, had to pay numerous fines and whatnot for what I’d done...
Tumblr media
And naturally, I was expelled from Hope’s Peak too...
Tumblr media
...Wow...That is...
Tumblr media
Yeah, well, it happened. I didn’t care paying the price, but I was more worried about the people around me...
Tumblr media
I had a girlfriend at the time, and I had to leave her behind...She’s probably dead by now...
Tumblr media
Setsuka I...
Tumblr media
What happened to Ms Chiebukuro? You’re growing up Saihara, I’m proud of you.
Tumblr media
Ah...s-sorry, it kind of slipped out.
Tumblr media
That’s fine, don’t apologize. But I’m gonna call you Shu from now on so we can get even.
Tumblr media
Anything’s better than Pooichi, so alright...
Tumblr media
Things were pretty rough from that point on...I avoided my family and old friends...I started drinking and smoking. I stopped drinking, thankfully, but I still smoke even now...
Tumblr media
By the time the tragedy came around, I’d started training to be a detective, which usually involved me following people around and using my Devil’s Eye to my advantage.
Tumblr media
Eventually, the Kisaragi Foundation reached out to me, and recruited me into their ranks to investigate Mikado Sannoji and the VOID’s...
Tumblr media
Buuut...I got kidnapped and forced into the killing game...and the rest is history...
Tumblr media
Wow...That’s quite a story...
Tumblr media
Glad you enjoyed it. And just in time too...Looks like Fuji’s done.
Tumblr media
We are. Alter Ego? Show them.
Tumblr media
We’ve tracked the van and it’s recipient to this location.
*Alter Ego shows a map of the city on the screen, with a red blinking dot showing in a suburban area.
Tumblr media
This is where the van was last spotted on public security cameras and eyewitness repots.
Tumblr media
Then I’m headed there now.
Tumblr media
Need any backup?
Tumblr media
It’d be great if you could pull a team together, but we’re low on time. I need to save her and I need to go now...!
Tumblr media

V3 Boys Doing Kabedon On S/O
“Hello, welcome there ! Can i request danganronpa v3 boys doing kabedon on their S/O please ? >.< Merci ~ “
I haven’t even thought about kabedon in ages! This is such a cute idea, I’m in love! Story under the tag~
P.S: In case you don’t know what kabedon is, here is a definition: ‘Kabedon is a very popular means of expressing romantic love or adoration. It is done by a man hitting his hand on a wall, pinning the woman in the process.’
Shuichi Saihara
We all know Shuichi is shy when it comes to romance
He would glow red just as you holding his hand in public
Which is why you two would only cuddle in private, as he was worried about being teased
But today he was stressed
He had spent a week straight trying to find the mastermind, with nothing to show for it
That also meant a week of not seeing you as much as he liked, and he was craving from attention
He walked into your dorm without asking, knowing that you were there, probably sitting at a desk reading or drawing
“Shuichi!” You stood up from your desk, walking towards him. “What are you doing here?”
As you approached your boyfriend you saw the serious expression on his face, causing you to slow down
“Shuichi, are you okay? Have you been sleepi-”
You were forcefully cut off by Shuichi taking a sudden step forward, lightly grabbing your shoulder and pushing you against the wall, slamming his hand into the wall near your head in the process
Looking up at Shuichi, your face reddened at the serious look he had painted on
His eyes were unreadable, only observing you
He collapsed into you, your back thudding lightly against the wall
“Shuichi...?”
You felt his arms wrap around your waist, tightening when he sensed that you were balanced
“I’m sorry Y/n, I really wanted to see you, but I am just so exhausted...”
Relaxing, you returned his hug, smiling softly into his chest
“It’s alright Shuichi, I just wish you hadn’t worked yourself so hard.”
Lightly pushing him back, you led the sluggish boy to the bed, laying him down before getting in yourself
Pulling the covered over the two of you, you silently giggled as Shuichi nuzzled into you, making you into a makeshift teddy bear
“Goodnight love.”
Kaito Momota
It had only been a week since you had gotten stuck in this killing game with all these other students, everyone was just starting to settle in to this new life
People were starting to find the people they could be friends with, while you were stuck with a die-hard crush
The ultimate astronaut, who had already been yelled at multiple times for getting in too many people’s personal spaces, had somehow swooped in and stolen your heart despite only speaking to you a handful of times
And he only really spoke to you if he needed a favor or to hide from someone, so you started to deny his requests, turning and walking away before he could see the faint red on your cheeks
You were walking through the main hall of the school when you were suddenly pushed into the wall, jumping at the thud of the handing hitting the wall next to your head
Looking up to see Kaito, you huffed and diverted your gaze, fiddling with the hem of your shirt as if to give your hands something to do
“What do you want, Kaito? I can’t hide you in my room anymore, Maki knows that’s where you go, and I’d like to not have a repeat of two days ago.”
“Aw, lighten up, Y/N! You know, it’s good to learn to always be on alert, so maybe having Maki break in was a good way to test you!”
“I needed a new door, Kaito.” You glared at him
“And I am sorry about that! But look, I’m here to ask something of you, this time with less fighting and more...talking!”
Talking?
“Spit it out, please.”
Kaito sighed, using his free hand to rub his neck
“Okay. Y/n, I know I am really not in the position to ask this, but, would you maybe wanna have a picnic sometime?”
As the words sunk in, your eyes widened, looking at the boy standing over you. A date? Date?!
Struggling to contain your excitement, you flashed a small smile before pushing his hand down, letting your linger on it just a second longer
“Sure, that sounds nice.”
Ryoma Hoshi
I am so sorry I can’t think of anything but Ryoma trying to do it and only reaching your legs I’m sorry if you really wanted Ryoma but I can’t stop laughing-
Rantaro Amami
You and Rantaro had been close since this whole thing started, you even saving him from Kaede’s trap to kill the mastermind
She apologized profusely of course
Today had been one of those days where there was nothing to do, no motives, no threats, just hanging out
You and Rantaro had been hanging out in the dining hall, eating a late lunch and generally just being bored
Searching for any form of entertainment, you noticed the bottle of soda Rantaro was drinking from and got an idea
Swiping it from his hand, you skipped away from the table
“Y/n, can I have that back?”
“Nope! You’ll hafta come get it!”
This resulted in the two of you fast-jogging around the dining room, him trying to retrieve his stolen drink
Well, you were sprinting, this boy has really long legs
After a couple laps around the room you began to get exhausted, and resorted to just huddling into a corner, back facing your boyfriend
You felt him approach your back, and stifled a giggle
“Y/n, can I have my drink back?” He was panting, as the run had also taken some effort on his part
You shook your head no, pulling the bottle closer to your stomach, away from his reach
He continued to ask, nudging your shoulder or placing a hand on your head, only earning a small laugh or a no as a response
You were suddenly flipped around, a hand forcefully pulling on your shoulder, forcing you to face him, another on the wall next to you
You made eye contact as he leaned down, face inches from yours
“Y/n, you are adorable...”
The hand on the wall dropped down to your chin, holding it in place
Rantaro began to lean in, eyes closing slowly, and yours doing the same
As you anticipated the next blissful moments, a strong pull ripped the bottle from your relaxed hand, your boyfriend suddenly backing off
He gave you a lopsided smirk before walking out of the dining hall, taking a small sip of his drink as if to show victory
“H-hey! This isn’t fair, you owe me a kiss!”
Gonta Gokuhara
Gonta is many things
He’s sweet, funny, smart, and gentle
But he doesn’t really know what personal space is, especially when he’s excited
You two had spent nearly the whole day in his lab, you letting him gush about his bugs and the ones he found particularly pretty
“Any that remind me of Y/n are the best!”
Gonta had been flipping through multiple books trying to find a picture of the butterfly that reminded him of you the most, and it was taking quite some time
You took this time to look at the butterflies pinned to the wall more closely, taking in each spot and groove on the wings.
“Y/n! I found it!”
You jumped at the sudden boom of voice, turning around just in time to be pushed against the wall, book in your face
“See! This one is amazing, pretty! Like you! Gonta apologize for how long it took to find...” He lowered the book, making you suddenly notice how close you two were to each other
Gonta seemed to notice too, as his cheeks turned red and he backed up slightly
“S-sorry! Gonta didn’t mean to hurt Y/n!”
You gave a breathy laugh, jumping up to give him a quick peck on the cheek
“It’s perfectly, fine, Gonta. I love you.”
Kokichi Oma
Let’s face it, Kokichi will pin anyone to anything if it gets a reaction out of them
He mostly does it to you, your blushy reaction always making him tease you even harder
So it wasn’t a huge surprise when he came rushing up behind you whilst on your way to the library
You let out a grunt as you were slammed into the wall, head hurting just a bit
“Y/n~! How’s my favorite little ultimate doing?”
Despite your desire to laugh in his face, you felt your face heating up, and only growing hotter as he leaned in closer
“Aw...whats the matter? Are you sick? Or are you deeply in love with someone?! Oh, let it be me, please!”
He leaned in further, noses touching. “Boop!”
Snapping out of it, you shoved him off, Kokichi casually pretending to be wounded like he always does, falling to the floor
“You’re no fun, Y/n!” His voice grew to a whisper as he clung to your leg. “What if I died?”
You shake your head and remove your leg from his grasp, walking away quickly
This boy will be the death of you, you swear.
Korekiyo Shinguji
...What was happening?
You had been walking to the dorms, planning on getting a nap in before lunch when all of a sudden, you were pinned to the dormitory wall, a tall man looming over you
To say you weren’t friends with Korekiyo was an understatement
No one was
He was just...there. Being him. He didn’t talk to anyone or try to interact. He liked to stare.
And here the boy was, arm next to your head and breathing down at you, breath blocked by the mask he always wore
“Can I help...you?”
Korekiyo seemed to snap out of a trance, eyes that were blankly staring at you now looking into your eyes with some actual living emotion
“Yes. I, uh, would like to ask for your assistance, with something in my ultimate lab...”
You felt your ears heat up, surprised at the way his voice sounded
It sounded really nice.
“I-uh, yeah...yeah! Of course I can help!”
He audibly let out a sigh, eyes averting from you. Was that a blush you see?
“Perfect. I see you’re doing something now, so I’ll request your presence after dinner. Goodbye.” He walked off quickly, sliding back into the school
Did you just...make friends with the unfriend-able?
Kiibo
You and Kiibo had been close since you guys met during the first days of the killing game
Who cares if he was a robot? You loved him and he didn’t know exactly what he was feeling so he guessed it was love!
You knew he was insecure about how little he knew about showing affection, so you were humored when he would confess he learned whatever romantic gesture he just did from another classmate
You didn’t care, it was sweet!
However, when he pinned you to the wall of the gym, you were startled
Mostly at the fact that he did it so forcefully his hand went into the wall, becoming stuck
“M-my apologies, Y/n! Kokichi told me to do it as hard as I can, so...”
The next few hours minutes were spent trying to pry him from the wall, Monokuma finally getting an exisal to dig him out when he had gotten bored of laughing at Kiibo
Kokichi, however, found it incredibly amusing, crying from laughter the second he saw what had happened, not letting him live it down for the next week
“I really gottta hand it to you, Kiibo! You know how to make someone swoon!”

Ahh, this is so bad! I’m sorry some are so short, Ryoma doesn’t even have one! .-. Thank you for requesting!

"Confusion and familiarity" Prologue [PART 1]
Written by the brilliant Mod Tai!
Tumblr media
I was surrounded by darkness.
Where am I?
I tried opening my eyes, but my vision stayed blurry.
Who am I?
the darkness around me never faded and I couldn't remember anything.
What happened?
The questions kept swirling around his head and he stretched out his arms to push open whatever was in front of him- was it a door?
A little more force and it flew open. He stumbled out of whatever he was in and his eyes burned a little from the sudden light.
"a classroom?" he talked with himself and started to look around, trying to remember how the hell he got stuck in a locker in the first place.
Well- it doesn't really matter now, does it?
A rumbling interrupted his thoughts, he turned his head towards the second locker and in less than a few seconds another person stumbled out of it as well.
He rushed over. "Are you alright?" he asked and offered his hand to the other person to help them get up.
"W-Who are you? Where am I?" the person started panicking and refused to take the hand offered in front of him and rather pushed himself back against the lockers door.
"I don't know who you are or where we are, but I'm Rantaro Amami- nice to meet you, I guess?" Rantaro ran his fingers through his green hair and smiled to calm down the other person, who was clearly still panicking.
"I-eh I'm Shuichi Saihara...nice to meet you too, I-I guess?" Shuichi stood up from the ground he was sitting on, fixing his hat a little less trembling and seeming calmer than before.
A few seconds passed before Shuichi started walking around and scanned the classroom the same way Rantaro did until he interrupted him.
"Why are we in a classroom?" he muttered to himself and Rantaro shrugged in response.
"I don't know, but we should try and get out of here" both of them walked towards the door and tried to open it. The door swung open in a few seconds. Rantaro took Shuichi's hand and started sprinting into the hallway.
"H-hey! not so fast!" Shuichi called out, but Rantaro didn't listen and didn't let go either.
"We don't know what's going on here so we should hurry, right?" that was all he said and kept running as fast as he could, followed by Shuichi.
Suddenly, some kind of big robot monster started chasing them- or maybe it was chasing them from the start? they didn't really paid much attention so who knows? No... it most definitely was there from the start everything else wouldn't make any sense.
"Where are these coming from?!" Shuichi freed himself from Rantaro's grip and ran faster to escape this weird monster robot.
Rantaro picked up speed as well and the moment they ran around a corner they found other students still investigating the hall.
"Hey! Get out of there!" they yelled from the top of their lungs and the students turned around and froze at the spot after seeing this huge monster chasing them down.
"Come on, we have to get away!"
Rantaro grabbed two of them by the arm and the third shook his head and followed them as fast as he could. Finally they reached a door and opened it with their last strength.
A gym? Rantaro thought and entered together with the other four students following him. Inside the gym were even more students already waiting for them.
"Did you all got chased by that monster too?" they asked, while catching their breathes they nodded firmly.
"Ohh, more students? That makes 16 now!" Somebody from the back of the group called out.
"Sixteen?" Rantaro repeated the number thoughtfully and something seemed to click in his head.
"Should I check about what's happening?"
"You can't! It's too dangerous! We should stay here!"
Rantaro turned around, trying to find out who was talking, but it was impossible when everyone was talking at the same time.
"You're all talking at the same time- I don't understand a thing like that, calm down! All of you!" Rantaro shouted and the talking at the same time finally stopped, he sighed relieved.
"Anyway, why does it matter that we're 16? There might be more coming" a boy from the group asked and Rantaro turned around.
"No, I think that's everyone- if it is what I think it is" he put his right hand on his chin.
"What are you?! A fucking know-it-all? Just spit it out already, if you know something!" a blonde woman walked towards him, but they were all interrupted by an unknown voice.
"Now, now be quiet all of you!" just a few moments passed, until even more of those monsters appeared right in front of them inside the gym!
"Kyahahaha! Thanks for bearing with us!" all the students stumbled back in surprise. It felt like a shock was going through their body- or more like they were paralysed, not able to move a muscle.
Why are these here?
How did they get in here?
"AHHH!" a girl screamed and the boy from earlier started talking again: "damn! we're surrounded by those monsters!"
"These aren't monsters! These are exisals!" one of the monsters- no, exisals spoke.
"They're highly mobile, bipedal weapons platforms" they continued proudly.
"Weapons?" Shuichi asked slightly panicking and started trembling a little again.
What are we suppose to do in this kind of situation? Argh, I'm-! Rantaro shook his head to stop his own thoughts.
I can't show any fear- that's exactly what they want to achieve. Rantaro thought, closed his eyes and took a deep breath to say something, but got cut off before speaking one single word, because suddenly these exisals opened and 5 bears jumped out of them and yelled: "Rise and shine with our power combined, we are the Monokubs!!"
"H-hey what's up with these stuffed animals? How are they moving?"
"I-I have no idea!"
"...moving stuffed animals...?"
"It seems like they call themselves 'Monokubs' on top of that"
and so started everyone talking again, without bothering to tell their names. God, that's stressful to only know the name from one of the students. It's hard for me to tell who is actually talking this way…!
"Who is behind all this? Why the ridiculous-" Rantaro spoke up, but got quickly interrupted by Monokid, who was clearly annoyed.
"Shut up! Shut up! All of you are reactin' way too normal! It's boring! So BORING!" Monokid yelled displeased and glared at all the students in front of them. "Actually- don't their clothes look boring too?" Monotaro spoke up and Monosuke cut them off.
"maybe they haven't been given their first memory yet? Hm, easy way to find out: do you guys have any kind of ultimate talent?" Monosuke asked and the students thought quietly about it.
Ultimate talent? I don't remember anything like that-
"No, I don't have one"  Rantaro answered honestly and the other students quickly agreed that neither of them possesses an ultimate talent.
"Wasn't Monophanie in charge to do that?" the Monokubs looked at them. No, even worse they were glaring. "Zzzz" was the only answer she gave regarding the memories.
"Is she sleeping?"
"No she is fakin' it, obviously!"
"But what if she is really sleeping?"
The other three started arguing whenever or not the pink Monokub was sleeping and the fourth was keeping quiet just like before.
The hell is going on now?
"Anyway, seems like you all have forgotten your ultimate talents and became generic high school students!" Monosuke explained in a pretty arrogant voice and crossed their arms.
Seriously, who or what do they think they are?
"Forgotten?" another blonde girl asked shocked. "What do you mean?" She continued questioning.
"Yeah, when I look at the backstory... there is something about the Ultimate Hunt goin' on. Hmm, you've all lost your memories and became different people cuz of the ultimate hunt, but we really need you guys to remember your true selves!" Monotaro scratched his head and hit Monophanie on the back. She shrieked and came back into reality from her fake sleep.
"Yes, and you need to reclaim your sealed talents by regaining your memories!" Monophanie clapped her hands together and smiled brightly.
"U-uhm what are you talking about?" a blue haired girl started talking, stuttering with a quiet voice and looking completely confused.
"I don't get it… What are these sealed talents you're talking about?" a rather short boy, who was keeping quiet until now spoke up as well and was just like the rest of the students completely confused.
"Let's do this already! No one wants to watch a bunch of generic high school whiners!" Monosuke was clearly annoyed about all those questions and wanted to get over this part as fast as possible.
"Let's update your wardrobe first so you guys look all cute and spiffy!" Monokid laughed and obviously made fun of them and their uniforms.
Fantastic. Rantaro thought sarcastic.
In a flash of seconds they all were changed from the boring high school uniform in better and more casual looking clothes, well- most of them.
"What am I wearing?" the blonde girl looked down on herself like everyone else who wasn't able to follow what the Monokubs explained. Rantaro only shrugged it off, because all this felt strangely familiar.
"Get ready! Once the seal is broken and you have your memories back, we'll be in the domain of the killing game!" Monokid shouted excited, but the students only looked at each other in confusion and shock.
"Whaa- K-Killing game? What are you-" that was the last sentence Rantaro heard before a light appeared in his head.
A Flashlight?
The familiar darkness surrounded him, a feeling Rantaro never wanted to feel again...
And with that he felt his own body lose consciousness.

DANGANRONPA AUTUMN WEEK 2020
DAY 2 : HOLIDAY AND TOGETHER
AU: Post Game Simulation V3
lmao i rushed this because i wanted to add so much so its messy and im sorry
It had been a couple of months since a small group of school kids with extraordinary talents had been forced to endure a traumatic life changing event. Slaughtering each other left and right and having to kick start survival senses just to make it through. Even if it was all virtual, the pain of dying and the pain of betrayal was all real for each of them. Although through the misery of a killing game, these kids found a bond between them all, having learned all of the best and worst parts of each other.
After they woke up, they had made an oath to always keep in touch and check in on each other no matter where their future paths may take them. So far, that vow had stood strong. As the seasons changed and the healing continued, they made time for each other.
The air outside grew colder and colder until dew from the day began to frost as the sun disappeared in the horizon. Kaede Akamatsu and Shuichi Saihara walked down a long asphalt paved driveway towards a large white home that reminded the both of them of a mansion from movies. Complete with carved pillars and a green garden outside with flowers that popped against the white and cream of the structure. The grass around the property looked like it was just as green as golf fields.
Kaede held a tub of cookies in her mittened hands while Shuichi carefully walked a pitcher of apple cider he had homemade with Kaede not too long before their departure.
“I knew Kirumi was well off with her talent but jeez!” Kaede’s bright voice cut through the cold.
“I’m not r-really surprised.” Shuichi responded, shivering and stuttering.
Kirumi Tojo had decided that they should meet up for the holidays and have themselves a “Friendsgiving.” She informed everyone that she would be making the main dishes but if anyone had anything else they specifically wanted, she would welcome the aid.
“I’m so excited to see everyone! They’re all getting a big hug whether they like it or not!” Kaede always spoke with such determination and confidence and luckily that same attitude had slowly begun to rub off on Shuichi.
“I’m s-sure they’d l-love that.” Shuichi turned to look at her and smile before glancing back towards the front door.
As they had gotten closer, they noticed a fall wreath hanging on the front door. Yellows, browns, and oranges littered the leaves and flowers that circled it. As they stepped on to the small stairs that lead to the porch, they saw a couple of the flower picks had fallen off; hot glue bubbles still on the ends. Shuichi determined that this must be a homemade wreath.
Kirumi would not have let her creations fall apart like that. So they wondered just who would have taken part in the decorations.
Kaede reached out her hand and softly knocked on the wooden door. It only took a moment before an excited Angie swung the door open.
“Ah! Atua told me that it was you two!” She tilted her head from side to side.
“Don’t listen to her. She looked outside the window and noticed Kaede walking up!” Tenko shouted behind her. In her hands was a banner with many fall colors.
“Nyehh…” A small voice beside Tenko mumbled. “Tenko, I can’t put that above the window. I’m too short. I have to save my magic for dinner.”
“Don’t worry Himiko! I will get it and all you have to do is hold the end and look pretty!” Tenko grabbed Himiko’s hand and pulled her off towards a grand window facing the front of the house.
Angie bounced on the soles of her feet before moving out of the way to let Shuichi and Kaede through. “Now we are just waiting on Gonta! I hope he did not get lost! Atua would be very upset if he did not make it in time for the turkey!”
“Oh I’m sure he will get here! We just have to be patient.” Kaede nodded and then walked further into the house to find the dining room. Shuichi shut the front door behind him and trailed after her.
As they passed through the living room, more and more familiar faces appeared. On the large sectional sat Tsumugi, Hoshi, and Korekiyo. The three of them were facing towards the TV that was mounted on top of the fireplace in the middle of the wall. Korekiyo, sat criss cross on an arm rest of the sofa, kept his attention on a small book that he had brought with him. Tsumugi and Hoshi sat on the cushions, their attention on the TV that had the Netflix menu on it.
“Tsumugi. It’s Thanksgiving. Can we not use my account to watch your trashy cartoons please?” Hoshi’s calm deep voice questioned her. He leaned back and adjusted the candy cigarette in his mouth, something he always kept to curb his previous addiction.
“Not all of it is trashy! I can find some very sweet slice of life animes! Like Ouran! Or Fruits Basket!”
“I don’t care what’s in the basket. I just don’t want it in my watch history.” Hoshi pulled his beanie over his eyes and sighed.
Shuichi had to bite his lip so that he didn’t outwardly laugh at the quick witted response. Kaede didn’t want to get involved in that argument and moved forward into the hallway.
“You little fucker!” A shrill voice stopped them in their tracks.
“Get your short ass back here!”
A small figure zoomed out of a room and into the hallway. Of course Kokichi had gotten himself into trouble already.
“It’s your fault your hair is so long! Maybe you should cut it or something? I hear being bald is totally in right now!” Kokichi giggled and raised a finger to his lips, a signature move as he teased.
Iruma followed into the hallway, holding strands of her hair. “You better open your tiny little mouth and get to eating this shit out. I am not about to let it dry and ruin my beautiful blonde hair!”
“Don’t you know how to use a hairbrush? Or do you not know hygiene either?”
“That’s it. Say you’re fucking prayers!” Iruma lunged forward but a hand covered with rings wrapped around her forearm.
“Iruma. It’s just jello. It won’t ruin anything.” Rantaro came into view. He let go of her and folded his arms across his chest. “And Kokichi. This is a special time. Don’t waste food by throwing it at people. We’re literally trying to celebrate being thankful.”
Kokichi sighed loudly and slumped his shoulders. “Fine.” He drug the word out in annoyance. “I’ll just go steal the remote from the weeb or something then.” He turned on his heel and pushed past Shuichi and Kaede down into the living room.
“Hey guys. Sorry about that.” Rantaro’s previous firm attitude fell and the normal carefree one appeared. “Guess I gotta keep a better eye on him while we are here.” He put a hand behind his neck and looked down at their hands. “Oh yeah Kirumi is in the dining room now looking to place the food. So go right ahead.” He moved out of the way and followed Kokichi’s path.
Iruma had been messing with the strands of hair, trying to pick the food out. “He’s lucky that Rantaro was here to protect him. Again. One day I’m gunna beat the shit out of that little twink.”
“Ah I think he’s just, just trying to g-get a rise out of you.” Shuichi offered.
“I don’t want that kind of rise for me!” Iruma smarted off, making Shuichi shut his mouth quickly.
“Okay!” Kaede interrupted. “We’re going to go set these down then!” She wanted to cut it off before it got anymore vulgar. Shuichi nodded and the two of them started towards the kitchen.
“I’d close my eyes before walking through there.” Iruma warned.
“Why? Is the food cooking in there just that appetizing? Will we want to eat it the minute we see it?” Kaede’s eyes widened with joy.
Iruma blushed brightly. “Uh. No!” She struggled to find words. “Worse! Actually just go see for yourself. Embarrass him more while you’re at it!” She let out a boisterous laugh before turning her heel to another room down the hallway that had to be a bathroom.
Shuichi and Kaede exchanged looks before walking into the kitchen, slightly afraid of what they might find. What they didn’t expect was the see Kaito and Maki in the middle of the room. Kaito leaning on a cabinet with something in his hand in front of Maki, keeping her in place.
“How many times do I have to tell you? Wrong holiday.”
“Isn’t it close enough though?” Kaito’s voice pleaded. “Come on. It’s tradition.”
“Yes. For Christmas.” Maki sounded like she was way past done with the conversation.
“So you admit that you’ll kiss me under the mistletoe at Christmas.” Kaito smirked and looked down at her with his “famous smolder.”
“I am not admitting anything. I am stating a fact Kaito.” Maki’s face flushed and she reached up to play with the hair that had fallen in front of her shoulders.
That’s why Iruma had mentioned embarrassing someone. Kaito had mistletoe and had been trying to get Maki under it.
“Sidekick help me out.” Shuichi didn’t think Kaito had noticed him.
“I uh, uhm. Well.” Shuichi stumbled on his words.
“See? He agrees with me!” Kaito said matter of factly.
“He just stuttered like always.” Maki glared.
“Yeah and I can understand his language!” Kaito leaned back offended. “Don’t hurt his feelings like that!”
“Why don’t you get him under that first then.” Maki challenged.
“I will! Get over here sidekick!” Kaito stomped his foot down and motioned for Shuichi to come forward.
Shuichi panicked slightly and shook his head. “Actually Kaito uh, actually I n-need to take this to Kirumi. You just, uhm, just keep trying.” He struggled to appease the taller male in front of him. He ducked his head nervously and turned into the grandiose dining room, Kaede giggling behind him.
The room had a yellow mood lighting with a large table in the middle. A white lace table runner down the middle with some plates already sat at the chairs. At the end of the table they found that they had finally met their goal. Kirumi and Kiibo stood down at the end. In Kiibo’s hands were two sets of plates that Kirumi would reach for as she set the table.
“Oh hello Kaede. Shuichi. It’s so wonderful to see you.” Kirumi’s pleasant tone was a nice change from the chaos they had just previously endured.
“Kirumi is letting me learn how to properly set tables!” Kiibo seemed genuinely excited to be able to help out.
“That’s wonderful Kiibo!” Kaede looked for a place to set her tin of cookies and gestured for Shuichi to do the same with the pitcher.
“We just have a couple of plates left to set and then everyone can come and eat.” Kirumi gently placed some utensils down into a designed napkin.
“I do not believe Gonta has arrived yet. I am hoping he will be here soon.” Kiibo pointed out and frowned in concern.
“Gonta will make it in time. It’s part of being a gentleman.” Kirumi pointed out and placed her hands in front of her on her skirt. Kiibo took the last set of plates and placed them on the placemat along with the proper utensils.
“I think we are ready now.” Kiibo nodded.
“Alright. Well why don’t the three of you pick your seats while I go and inform the others.” Kirumi seemed to glide as she exited the dining room.
It wasn’t long before the empty spaces were filled with bodies chattering with each other. Kirumi was back and forth putting the main courses on the table. Angie sprung into the dining room with a large figure behind her.
“Look everyone! Gonta made it! Atua helped guide him to us! How divine!” She collapsed her hands together before sitting down next to Himiko. Everyone lifted their heads and greeted him with delight.
“Gonta very sorry everyone! Gonta not sure what to bring as gift but finally found amazing thing!” Gonta held up a wrapped present and smiled wide.
“Gonta why did you bring a gift?” Kokichi questioned.
“Well Gonta just do what Miss Kirumi tell him. It Friendsgiving. So Gonta bring something to give friends!”
Kokichi began to laugh loudly. “Gonta you are so gullible! It’s a play on Thanksgiving! It doesn't mean giving to friends!”
“Oh!” Gonta’s face fell. “Gonta so sorry everyone! Just wanted to do the gentlemanly thing.”
“You did.” Kirumi walked back in for the final time and took the gift from Gonta. “I will go ahead and open it. Alright?” She peeled the wrapping paper away to reveal a diorama of different beetle types. Something used for educational purposes in the classroom. “This is wonderful, Gonta. I am sure we will learn a lot from this. Go ahead and have a seat.”
Gonta nodded before sitting down next to Kokichi and unfolding a napkin to put in his lap.
With such varying personalities, the chances of them all being friends under normal circumstances was low. However, they were all grateful for the friendships they had gained and found within each other. Kirumi cut into the turkey and served a piece to each person. Everyone  was just happy to forget about their lives for a while. Despite everything that happened, this holiday was panning out to be one of the best ones they’ve had.

Dungeon Chaos (KomaHinaNamami Week Day 4)
Prompt: Dungeons and Dragons
Rating: T
Summary: Chiaki’s never played a tabletop roleplaying game before, so being invited to one is both exciting and nerve wracking. At least she knows most of the people there.
“Hey, Onee-chan!” Kokichi landed hard against her desk, and Chiaki barely moved out of the way, her finger dancing across the console. “You play a lot of video games, right?”
“Yes,” Chiaki answered without bothering to look up. She was trying to defeat this boss, and she had it up to the hardest mode that she could play. She also decided to challenge herself and kept her character under level just for the extra amount of satisfaction. She knew that she was reckless, she usually didn’t try to play like that. She liked completing games, a hundred and ten percent of the way, but today was frustrating, and she wanted to have a struggle. It was better than starting a fight with Nagito or Hajime over something stupid.
“Would you say you’re good at roleplaying games?”
Chiaki paused the game after hearing that. “Is it the same as dating sims? I’m not very good with personal connections. I never know how to respond to people or how to react to them. The situation always calls for something, and if the wrong choice is made, it lowers the friendship and romance meter. I usually end up getting the no “choice” path because of it. Or the normal route, I suppose.” She looked up at Kokichi, who was comfortably swinging his legs back and forth, leaning into her personal bubble. “Why do you ask?”
“Well, what if I told you you could do all of that in real life, and you’ll know instantly what the wrong choice is?” Kokichi grinned. “Shirogane-chan from my class is hosting a DnD group. Saihara-chan and I joined, and I already asked Fujisaki-chan and Naegi-chan. Shirogane-chan told me that she was looking for more members, and our class isn’t playing.”
“Hmm.” Chiaki pressed a finger to her chin in thought. Nagito and Hajime were out getting food for her since she had been so caught up with her game. It wouldn’t surprise her if they went on a mini-date to eat a bit of lunch before bringing her back something to eat. Either that or Nagito’s luck struck, and they were trying to get out of whatever situation that wound up being. She hoped it was just a stuck vending machine. She didn’t want to go maxim capacity and have it be that a school building fell on top of them.
Chiaki was hanging out with Nagito too much if that was the first conclusion she came to. “I’ll have to ask and see if they’d want to. Hajime might since he likes playing video games with me. Nagito...he might feel like he’d just bring bad luck and disaster onto the game if he played.”
“Wouldn’t that make it more fascinating, though?!” Kokichi asked, leaning in with sparkling eyes. Chiaki was amused that he acted like her on occasion when she got excited. The common joke around the class was that Chiaki was somehow related to Kokichi, even though they could prove they weren’t. “I want to see Komaeda-chan’s luck in action! I’m always not around when something big happens.” He pouted slightly. “Maybe that’s his luck affecting me too?”
If so, it was strangely good luck. Chiaki shrugged, “When is the game supposed to start?”
“Hm? I was just supposed to get yes or no answers. I have your cell number, so I’ll tell you the deets when I get them from Shirogane-chan.” Kokichi grinned. “Oh, that reminds me. Any preference for a story?”
“You can choose your story?” Chiaki blinked. “Like backstory or…”
“Campaign story. Setting. You know. The background that we’re going to be tossing our characters in. I told her that I wanted to do Dragon Heist because you know. I’m a thief by trade.”
“You’re playing the rouge character than when a background of being a criminal.” Chiaki mused thoughtfully. “I don’t know. I’m not necessarily picky. So long as everyone has fun, I think that’s all that matters.”
“Ugh, well better than Yamada-chan. He told us that he wanted to do The Tomb of Annihilation. Since we have so many beginner players, Shirogane-chan’s not sure if that’s a good way to start.” Kokichi said as he glanced at his nails. “Well, whatever. If you run into your dream team, ask them for their opinion, too, okay? Better not forget Onee-chan. I’ll cry!”
“I understand.” Chiaki watched Kokichi leave. She hummed thoughtfully before going back to her game, losing herself until Nagito and Hajime came back with food.
Vending machine once more decided to get stuck again.
Better than a whole roof falling down, that’s for sure.
X
The conversation about the DnD disappeared from Chiaki’s mind. She was setting up for her weekend stream event when she heard her phone ding from across the room. Ignoring it, she went about getting her console hooked up to the right appliances when she heard a soft knock on the door. “Kokichi said something about a DnD group that’s happening tonight. He’s asking if you forgot to tell us?”
“A what now?” Nagito spoke up, and now Chiaki had to look. Hajime was standing at the door of her office, holding her phone casually in his hand. Nagito was peering over Hajime’s shoulder, clearly reading the text. “Huh. Ouma-kun has a strange way of wording things.”
“Like you don’t use emojis when you talk.”
“Not to that degree. I like to use numbers more.”
“DnD…” Chiaki trailed off before the lightbulb hit. Guilt flooded, and she looked at her game dejectedly. She was so eager to play the new game that came out too, but..she was curious about the roleplaying setup. She also never played a game with different people in a setting before. “Kokichi asked me if I wanted to come and play it, and I promised him I’d tell you guys. I’m sorry. It slipped my mind.”
“Do you still want to do it?” Hajime asked, his thumb hovering over the phone screen. “I can tell him we’re on our way, we just need the address.”
“This could be so exciting! What kind of hope do you guys think will spring from playing a roleplaying game? I wonder if all our talents are going to shine through. Oh, but that might mean my bad luck may hit unexpectedly. Maybe I should sit this one out.”
“No!” Chiaki and Hajime said together at the same time, startling Nagito into silence. “You’re coming too,” Chiaki replied firmly. “I want to see you play a game with us. You’re always on the sidelines. That can’t be fun.”
“I don’t mind watching, it’s exciting to see you two go at it.” Nagito grinned.
“Phrasing,” Hajime grumbled as he decided for them and typed out a response. “We should get going now if we want to make the next train and get to where they’re at.”
“They’re not playing at the dorms?” Chiaki questioned.
“Yamada-kun hangs out a comic book store not too far from here. They host the games, so we get the tablespace, and we can be as loud as we need to be within reason,” Hajime explained as he tossed Chiaki’s phone back. Kokichi had typed up the address, and it was clear to see that it was indeed a comic book store. “Let’s go.”
X
Chiaki didn’t typically go into comic bookstores. Still, she had to admit that the atmosphere reminded her of a lot of video game stores. The store was small and cozy with blue and red walls. Their shelves dedicated to different publishers that were all categorized by the title name. There were single-issue comic books as well as graphic mangas that were proudly displayed. The novelty statues that were in some of the display cases showed off some of the more famous superheroes and supervillains. Chiaki could see that there were some video game statues in there as well. They continued to walk until they reached the back of the store where a table was set up, and she saw that everyone was already there and waiting for them. On the table next to them was a tray full of snacks, pizzas, as well as sodas and cups.
“Onee-chan!” Kokichi didn’t waste time running over to her and body-slamming her into a hug. “I thought you ditched me! You promised that you’d talk to your boytoys about whether or not you’d be coming! I didn’t think I was so easily forgettable!” Tears slipped down his cheek.
“Ah, uh...Ouma-kun I don’t think Nanami-san would forget about you that easily. Hinata-kun just said that she forgot.” Saihara tried to dissuade Kokichi from any more tears. Chiaki was impressed by how fast Kokichi could wipe away the evidence that he had been crying so quickly.
“Nishishi! Don’t worry, beloved! I was just playing. Come on, sit, sit.”
Everyone was already there too. Chiaki didn’t recognize most of them. Makoto, she knew mostly from running into the halls. The girl that sat at the end of the table was wearing a dramatic looking dress with long silver hair that was braided and had a flower crown. Pointed ears were poking from the strands, and decorated with an ornate silver covering. “So before we begin playing, how many of us already have character sheets made?”
“Me!” Kokichi quickly pulled his out of a thick book and slammed it down on the table, shaking it dramatically. “Behold! Your Phantom Thief as arrived along with-” he grabbed Shuichi’s hand and held it up high “-your beloved Paladin!”
“Oh, awesome! What species are you two doing?” The girl asked, clasping her hands together.
“Halfling and human.”
“Oh. I see. How plain.” The girl ignored Kokichi’s indigent screech. “I’m going to assume you got yours done too, Yamada-kun?”
“Of course, I did. I sat down for hours trying to come up with a backstory that will mesh well with any campaign we all agree on. I have decided upon the paladin as well! My chosen warrior will be fighting alongside the Goddess of Sune as well. I may be adding in a bit of bard into the mix later down the road. Do you need my copy of my backstory, Shirogane-san?”
“If you have it,” Tsumugi said. Chiaki watched as they exchanged it across the table. It was starting to feel overwhelming. How was she supposed to keep track of what’s what?
“Psst, Onee-chan.” Kokichi caught her attention and gave her a grin. “Don’t worry about it. Yamada-chan likes to show off that he’s a veteran to this. You and the dream team aren’t the only ones that are new or don’t have a character sheet.”
Chiaki felt a little calmer with the assurance. Makoto spoke up, looking confused. “So how are we even supposed to do this? I tried to do it myself, but my sister laughed at me over the phone and hung up.”
“It’s okay Naegi-kun, I was lost too,” Chihiro replied quietly as they carefully smoothed down their skirt.
“How about all of us pair up with the newbies and help them design their characters and then we can talk about the campaign? Session zero is usually nothing but set up anyway and making sure the rules are understood. If we get a bit of gameplay going, all the better.” Tsumugi said, just as Kokichi immediately bounded over and sat down in between Chiaki and Hajime.
“Okay! I’ll take the dream-team and Onee-chan! Someone else can help the two helpless nerds over there.” Kokichi said as Shuichi reached over and handed Kokichi his handbook. He dragged the three over to a separate table.
“Do you guys have a dice set?” At the shake of their head, Kokcihi turned his head over his shoulder. “Oi! Beloved! Toss me the catapult!”
“The what?”
Shuichi ignored Tsumugi’s surprise as he picked up a dice bag that looked like it was made of leather and rounded into a ball. He tossed it over the table, making Kokichi catch it with both hands. Without another word, he dramatically overturned his bag. The dice spilled out, hitting the table and rolling everywhere on the floor’s surface.
It took a little bit to help clean it up, but the minute they were able to do that, Kokichi finally sat them down and spoke. “So. What do you guys think you represent?”
Represent? Chiaki frowned deeply as she looked over to see that both Hajime and Nagito were thinking about it as well, taking Kokichi’s words into consideration. “Hope,” Nagito spoke up, and Chiaki sighed. “Luck and hope.”
“Uh...hard work, I suppose? Talent?” Hajime tried.
“Hm...something that has to do with fun, I think,” Chiaki said quietly, pulling her hoodie over her head as she tried to block out some of the noise and light. She hadn’t realized that the group behind her was going to get so loud.
Hajime subtly made her move so that she was sitting in between him and Nagito. Kokichi didn’t bat an eye or ask questions. “Okay, so halfling for Komaeda-chan, a fighter for Hinata-kun, and…” he paused humming to himself before nodding. “I think Onee-chan will make for a good bard.”
“Should I go for a healing class?” Nagito questioned. “Considering that everyone else is fighter types. I recall that Chiaki would have to take the role less played with during her MMORPGs, and Clerics are usually the ones used for that, aren’t they?”
“You sure that you want to stay behind and just cast healing spells?” Kokichi questioned, “It’s fun if you’re up ahead in the battle.”
Chiaki was about to open her mouth to offer, but Nagito was faster than she was. “I don’t want my luck to ruin your guys game. It’s better if my character is a bystander to let all of you shine. I don’t mind.”
“So a halfling cleric. I’ll make this easy for you and say that you should go with Life Domain. Mostly because of your luck, hope, and morales.” Kokichi said. “We’ll roll dice for stats and everything in a bit. How about you Hinata-chan? I said the fighter, but...you want someone to be hardworking, right? Human’s pretty typical, but...I mean, we already have a human paladin. It wouldn’t take us long to weave your backstory with Saihara-chan’s. You two could know each other in-game. It’ll make for roleplaying easier. Because in addition to knowing him, you’ll know me because I cause a lot of trouble around the town.”
“Probably enough that a cleric would also know you?”
“Heard of me sure, unless you’re gonna be friends with the paladin. Oh, if you two follow the same God, that’ll give you something to talk about too.” Kokichi snapped his fingers.
Chiaki hummed thoughtfully as she listened to the conversation, her mind whirling as she thought about what she wanted to be. She peered over Hajime’s shoulder as he flipped through the book, angling it so that she could see. “Are there any uncommon monsters?” Chiaki questioned.
“What do you mean?” Kokichi asked.
“I mean,” Chiaki pulled on her hoodie. “Someone that’ll take a look and think that he’s dangerous, but in the end, he’s actually a good person?”
Neither Hajime nor Nagito could miss what reference she was making out of that.
“...Tiefling or Dragonborn usually,” Kokichi said slowly, picking his words carefully. “Teiflings are what you want to go with if you’re trying to scare people. Half-orcs or orcs are common ones too, but Teiflings are considered to be people from hell. They’re not exactly looked at well I think it’s a flip of a coin what town would prefer what monster though over the others. Dragons are terrifying in their own right.”
“Why not go with Tiefling?” Chiaki offered, looking up at Hajime. “You’ll get the hardship of trying to win everyone’s favor, and you can work hard at show-casing that appearances shouldn’t be judged on.”
“...Alright.”
“What about you, Chiaki? You agreed to be a bard, but...are you sure that’s an idea?” Nagito questioned.
“Bards usually are the ones that have the most, though they’re usually played more sexually,” Kokichi said bluntly. “Since Onee-chan likes to have fun, it’ll be interesting for like...a bard to actually be just that. A playful character that doesn’t take anything seriously.”
“Hmmm...I’m a pretty serious person by nature…” Chiaki said slowly, “so playing something that’s a little bit out of my comfort zone will be hard. It should be fun. But what species would be best for me to go with if I’m only trying to do that?”
“Why not a gnome? A gnome bard.” Kokichi offered.
Nagito suddenly burst into laughter, causing all three of them to look at him. He held his hands up, giggling and trying to control himself. “Sorry, sorry. I just had this thought that...Hajime’s Tiefling will be with the two shortest people in the game.”
“Oh yeah, you’re right! Nishishi! That’ll be hysterical if you three decide to get together in the game!” Kokichi laughed. “Okay, okay. Let’s roll the dice and see what you guys get for stats and equipment.”
X
“I still can’t believe that your luck can affect a fucking roleplaying game,” Hajime stated as they left the store in good nature. They managed to get their characters set up, with Nagito being stupidly powerful for being the first level due to his high rolls and his luck. The campaign they decided to choose was the Tyranny of Dragons. Since no one was a Dragonborn or could speak in dragons, it nearly caused a Total Party Kill within the first mission. It was only thanks to Kokichi’s quick thinking and Hifumi’s foresight for things that could go bad and turned the tide.
“It wasn’t just Nagito’s luck, though,” Chiaki helpfully pointed out as Nagito laughed easily at the accusation. “Did you see how bad Naegi-kun was rolling?”
Nagito was rolling pitiful numbers. It got to the point that most of the table thought Tsumugi was trying to prolong his suffering by fudging her rolls from behind the screen to help them out a bit. Makoto’s dexterity was decent, but the number of times he tripped and caused a problem was...alarming. It didn’t help either that Kokichi thought Chihiro and Makoto were the best people to mess with. He slipped a few things into Makoto’s equipment bag that raised eyebrows and questions when targetted.
“I have to admit it was riveting that we were facing the Champion head-on!” Nagito held his hands up excitedly. “Did you see how Hajime rolled so high to get so many critical hits? We thought he accidentally picked out Ouma-kun’s trick dice!”
“God, that was embarrassing.” Hajime groaned. “But the champion was annoying. I’m glad I fucked him up when I had a chance. Tsumugi plays a decent villain character. I don’t think I’ve wanted to strangle anyone as much as I do those cultists.”
“It’s terrible that they’re controlling the dragons somehow with the mask, but I’m eager to see what else happens.” Chiaki agreed, “I didn’t fall asleep once, and it was hard!”
Hajime and Nagito both wrapped their arms around her, Hajime going for the waist while Nagito settled for the shoulders. “I’m glad you had fun, Chiaki,” Hajime said softly. “I was worried that it might’ve been overwhelming.”
“At first it was, there were a lot of things to take in, and I wasn’t used to the area. However, as I got used to it, my stats increased, and I was better able to focus. It helped that both of you were on either side of me the entire time and that Ouma-kun was distracting. Poor Saihara-kun, though...he had to bail Ouma-kun out of doing some peculiar things.”
“Yeah...pickpocketing the mayor might’ve not been the best idea in the world.” Hajime agreed.
“I’m not so certain.” Nagito injected. “I still think that Ouma-kun and myself have a good hunch that the mayor isn’t who he says he is. I think that our group is still being used, but I’m not sure how.”
“We’ll just have to rely on our gut instinct for now,” Chiaki leaned into their hold. “My mind is going a thousand miles an hour. I’m starting to get sleepy trying to keep up.”
“Do you want me to give you a piggyback ride, Chiaki? At least to the station?” Hajime asked, already getting ready to get on his knees.
“Yea...I think that might be best.” Chiaki was getting tired, and it was hard to stand. Hajime bent down, and Chiaki allowed herself to fold forward around him. He hooked his arms under her legs as she tiredly clung to his shoulders.
“Hahaha, I’m a little worn out myself; that was a lot of information to be given all at once.” Nagito rubbed the back of his neck. “So should we plan to tell Ouma-kun that we’ll come next week?”
“Hmm...go for it.” Hajime nodded. “I’ll remind Chiaki when she wakes up.”
“Not...sleep….” Chiaki closed her eyes before she could complete the sentence. She was looking forward to next week too.

Tumblr media
i love writing dice sm tbh. theyre all so much fun to write and aaaaaaa
hope you enjoy!
title: Operation D.I.C.E. HQ!
summary: Shuichi finally caves in, and Kokichi takes him on a little adventure. What's the point of this adventure you might ask? Well, to make Shuichi his second in command of course!
word count: 1425
~~ prompt starts after cut! ~~
"Saihara-chan! Just the detective I've been looking for!"
Saihara raised an eyebrow from his book, staring into the purple eyes that beamed so bright and hopeful at him. "Yes?" He asked. He wasn't quite sure what Kokichi wanted. His facial expressions weren't any help either, but then again, they never really are. He could be saying one thing but mean the total opposite. Whatever it was, it wasn't any good he bet.
"I need you, my beloved Shumai, to go and investigate a place with me."
Huh? That was certainly an… unusual request. Regardless, he pressed forward in order to get to the real deal. "A place?" The question came out more like a statement but the latter continued and answered. "Yes! It's a super super duper secret place that I really want you to come look at with me! Please?" He pleaded further, clasping both his hands together while his eyes were in puppy dog mode.
Well, he had no reason to object, and his curiosity seemed to get the best of him yet again. Besides, he trusted Kokichi.
 For the most part.
Kokichi was pretty playful in nature. Despite saying malicious things, Shuichi knew he would never act on them. Kokichi wasn't that type of person. He sighed, setting down his book on the table in front of him. "Fine. Uhm, right now?"
"Absolutely. Come on, I'll lead the way." He giggled, taking the detective by his wrist and leading him out of the room which they were in before. Shuichi swore he saw Kokichi smirk but maybe he was just seeing things. He followed the smaller leader for what seemed like hours. Though, it was only an hour but it still took forever. The place was hidden, well, sort of. It was some sort of alleyway in between two stores. The area was definitely sketchy, but lively.
Shuichi felt uncomfortable. "Uh, Kokichi? Where are we?" He spoke up, timidity arising in his voice as he nervously glanced around as Kokichi paid no mind to his apparent hesitancy. He knocked on the door in what he could only assume was a pattern. He remained silent as Kokichi held his hand in his, beads of sweat forming in his palm as his nervousness had begun to dwell on him.
There was a slit on the metal door that had opened only a bit to peer at the two. "Red scroll, yellow scroll, blue scroll." He spoke, earning a raise from Saihara. Was that some sort of pass code? A Japanese tongue twister? The person behind the door nodded and opened the door after sliding the open slit closed. Kokichi turned towards Shuichi and flashed a toothy grin. He had a bad feeling about this. "Well, come on in."
Shuichi felt Kokichi release his hand as he waltzed into the suspicious room nonchalantly. The room had posters as well as graffiti on the inside with pink fluorescent lights. Where exactly was this place?
He walked in and noticed the room was somewhat empty other than a few desks and a bookshelf pushed up against the wall. The person that held the door open was in a clown mask and had a scarf and an outfit very similar to Kokichi. They had a red afro that was almost cartoonish to a degree. He waved gently at the figure who in turn, waved back. The latter shut the door and locked it with the hatchet that was attached.
Kokichi walked over to the bookshelf and pulled on a book. Shuichi was startled with the shelf had begun retracting to the side, leading to a secret passageway. "After you." Kokichi teased, motioning for Shuichi to walk inside of the darkened area. Shuichi complied and walked inside, Kokichi and the other person following him inside. He walked through the hall and noticed it was… like a hideout.
Like a stereotypical movie villain hideout but it wasn't. Sure, it may have looked the part from afar but you could see most of the "villain" aspects of the lair were props. The room had a mix of blue and white lights. Kokichi skipped in front of the group and held his hands open wide. "Welcome to the D.I.C.E. headquarters!"
Shuichi took a look around and saw eight other (he assumed) members who were in similar outfits as the person behind him. They joined him and took off their mask, as did the others except one. "Kokichi, why am I here?"
 "See, I knew you'd ask that. So… I lied!"
 Of course.
"I knew that if I told you where we were going, you'd say: "Aw man, sorry. Maybe next time." or some shit like that!" He rolled his eyes and collapsed down onto the dark greenish couch in the corner beside the door. "Right…" He trailed off and glanced around the members.
So they are real then. Interesting.
"Oh! How rude of me. I should introduce everyone to you!" Kokichi sprung up from the couch, bits of the couch cushion springing from underneath him in all its yellow, fluffy glory. Kokichi took the detective by the hand once more and walked him over to the group who were greeting him with friendly smiles. Kokichi pointed first to a young girl with long brown hair and a braid to the side of her head, though she still wore her mask. He wondered why.
"This is Two! She's not much of a talker but she's great at prank planning." Two waved, and Shuichi did the same. Next to her was another girl, she had an outfit similar to the rest but the only difference was she had cleavage showing. She was a bit taller than Two, maybe around two or three inches taller. "This is Three. She's basically our mom!"
"Pleasure to meet you, hun." Three extended her hand with a grin. Shuichi shook her hand and moved along to the next, "He's Four. Prepare yourself."
"What?" Before he could process Ouma's warning, he felt a pair of large yet fluffy arms grip him and held him tight. Next thing he knew, he was in the air as Four hugged the life out of him. "So you're the famous one we've heard so much about huh?! Man, Boss does not shut up about ya!" His voice was loud yet joyful. He could see Kokichi in the corner of his eye begin to fluster, "Ahaha! Four! What are you talking about, you big goof?" His words were drawn out but still menacing.
Four blinked absentmindedly before making an "oh" sound and set down Shuichi. "Nothin' at all, Boss."
Shuichi held his suspicions but decided to ultimately drop it. "Anyway, that's Five, Six, Seven, Eight, and Nine."
"The one behind you is One."
Shuichi stared as the group of misfits gathered in a circle, whispering amongst themselves. He couldn't help but somewhat admire what Kokichi had been doing. They all seemed like such a big and happy family. He was happy Kokichi had them.
The day continued. Shuichi and the rest of D.I.C.E. had played a bunch of games together and Shuichi (reluctantly,) ended up helping on planning for their next prank. Kokichi could see how brightly the detective shined. And in this train of thought, he pulled him aside. "Saihara-chan, you seem to be enjoying yourself."
"Yeah, I really am." He giggled, glancing back at the others who were sat in a circle playing a round of Connect Four. His eyes then drew back to Kokichi, "They're all great. You know, you're a great leader. They seem to respect you a lot."
Damnit, Shuichi. Why are you so unexpectedly smooth? The leader felt his cheeks turn red, "W-well yeah! But… you know, sometimes even leaders need breaks from their subordinates sometimes so…"
 "So?"
"Would you mind… joining me and being my second in command?" Shuichi couldn't see much of his face, but he could tell he was red. Kokichi had one hand on his scarf, which had been brought up to his face and the other had been placed on his hip. His eyes were averted but Shuichi didn't mind. He smiled at Kokichi warmly as if he were the cutest thing he'd ever laid eyes on.
Shuichi said nothing and instead took this opportunity to untie Kokichi's scarf. The smaller male stared at him in confusion, watching as he wrapped the scarf around his own neck. Shuichi bent down a bit, tilting his chin upward with his thumb and index finger and kissed his lips gently.
 "Gladly."
