cw: kissing 🤢🤕
summary: After having a (drunk) meltdown at a party, you and your at the time boyfriend Christopher part ways due to the hurtful words you had both shared. A few months end up passing by and you still can’t shake the thought of him. Somehow, even after all this time you’re still attracted to him, and only him.
You’re on your way home from 7/11 whenever you make out a figure walking towards your doorstep, this out of pocket incident then turns into something more.
——————————————————————————
“Anytime
Anytime
All the time in the world for-”
*
You absolutely adore Christopher, he’s on your mind everyday. Whenever you go to switch your thoughts onto something else, you always catch Chris being your main thought. No matter how hard you try, he’s always there in the back of your mind.
But you’re done trying to get him out of that void you call your brain, you don’t want him out. Not yet. Realizing that in truth he’s all you want, all you desire.
Now, no matter how hard you try you can’t seem to find the right time to contact him.
That is until tonight, when you’d least expect it.
“I've been putting too much pressure on the weekend
Think it's time, I spent a Saturday at home unrehearsed”
With your eyes aimed down towards your shoes like a dog in distress, you find your way to the local 7/11 directly down the road from your little cottage home that you had bought on your 19th birthday. Though small, that house is overflowing full of memories you wish you could’ve held onto longer. Hopefully this big gulp(gulpthisdiieekkkk😼) cherry slushie can drain out those reminders.
After paying and getting situated you walk out of the store and take a moment to put your wallet in your backpack.
When you had left your home the sun was just then setting, which had left the area in a golden hour lighting.
But now, the sun is gone and the moon has risen.
You look up to see an airplane gliding across the dark lit up night sky, embracing millions of stars and its bright moon was bolded with its crescent phase. Once the plane passes by, and after observing the gorgeous starry sky, you decide to start your little walk back to your home.
Nearly midway towards your house, you notice a dark figure who’s taller than you and has a very masculine build walking up to your doorstep. Confused, you look around your tree filled surroundings as a sense of comfort, or to ground yourself from all the thoughts racing through your head once again.
Upon getting closer and the figure becoming more visible, you recognize the boy. His hoodie that he had on wasn’t his, it was yours.
“I’ve got nothing to say, turn some pages until my eyes go long.
Listen to you sing your song”
your body freezes suddenly, as words begin to erupt out of your mouth.
“christopher? what are you doing here alone at 9 pm??”
Your heart begins to race as he turns around to face you, his face presenting a shocked yet nervous expression which made your heart feel slightly warm too.
“oh. uhhh.”
He pauses, looking around for reassurance before gently tucking his left hand into his hoodie pocket and reaching his other hand up to his neck, just below his hair.
“i came to talk things out with you, and mmm. i want to give you a genuine apology, y/n. But, I’d like an apology as well.
He sounded proud of himself when he said the last part. You’re proud of him too, honestly. You’ve never really heard him sincerely stick up for himself.
“I’ve already forgiven you, chris. you’ve done nothing wrong, you only did what you felt needed to be done in the present of that moment.”
You wanted to cry, but so did he. Now you had to hold yourself together or else you’d both be a crying mess. Plus your makeup is on point today, you can’t mess that up. Can’t have mascara running down your face. That mascara was freshly put on not even 2 hours ago and it is NOT going to waste.
You take Chris up on to your small, circular front porch and gesture him to sit down towards the top step.
as you both get settled, chris starts speaking again.
“It’s not that I want an apology, i just want what happened to be explained through your view.”
You freeze in shock, that’s it???? After a few breaths and trying to gain your thoughts, you start off explaining.
“We were both drunk, I had a little too much to drink, and i couldn’t control my words. I felt sick and so i guess I started word vomitting hard, which upset you from how sudden and stern the words were. I was overwhelmed from all the loud noises that your brothers were making while they were playing Mario Kart or something so I unpurposely hurt your feelings because im unsure how to maintain my emotions and took them out on you.”
“ That’s a lot more words, y/n. Somehow though, point proven. Neither of us were in the wrong completely and we were just drunk idiots. I was more of an idiot due to my selfish reaction but I don’t want to argue with you y/n.”
Chris reaches his arm to your shoulder and gently pulls you close to him, bringing you into a hug. Now, you’re directly next to him with your head nearly touching his. You glance over at his teary eyes, and he sticks to watching the sky.
“Beside her all the way even when we fight, can't help but know that everything's alright.
Listen to you and hit the light”
After sitting in 8 minutes worth of silence and without hesitation, you slide your hand up to his face and rest your hand over his cheek. You feel his face slightly light up and grow warmer as he turns to you in genuine confusion.
“i thought you said you’ve moved on a while ago?”
You just looked at him and nodded your head in denial before tightening your hold on his face and going in for a kiss that only he would return with the same energy, showing his feelings of longing for you.
After you both slowly move your heads back, you catch yourself smiling and beginning to laugh.
“so are you still mad at me or no…?”

Synopsis
Segovia, 1559. Lucía de Avellaneda celebrates her engagement party with the Marquis of Peñarrosa, a nobleman chosen by her brother. This marriage promises to reinforce the financial and social status of the family, but, in the middle of the celebration, the fiancée receives an unexpected letter from a woman who claims to be her mother and who claims her on her deathbed.
Lucía shows up at the beguinage, where her mother has summoned her. In this place she lives with other women independently and outside the Church. The young woman opens up to a new world that will make her question everything she has known until now. And, furthermore, he will know love through a pure and uncontrollable, but forbidden, passion. He will risk everything for Telmo, a Jewish man who must hide his beliefs and his past.
Main cast and characters
Lucía de Avellaneda (Amaia Aberasturi) Intelligent, curious and combative. Educated and innocent, until her mother's call disrupts her life. In the beguinage she discovers an environment of sorority and critical thinking that revolutionizes her idea of the world and breaks down the walls that her status as a Christian noble woman has imposed on her. When she meets Telmo she feels for the first time an attraction that she has never experienced, but his commitment and loyalty will stop her impulses, determined to fight for what really matters to her.
Telmo Medina (Yon González): Telmo is an attractive, lucid and mysterious young man who hides his Jewish origins. He works in a bakery and supplies the beguinage with what it needs from outside. He doesn't want problems, but he doesn't avoid them either. Loyal, sincere and honest, he cannot help but risk everything for a Christian noble woman.
Marie Anne (Beatriz Segura) Beguine and the successor of The Great Lady, she is wise, strong and enigmatic. Its mission is to protect the beguinage from certain ecclesiastical authorities who fear its independence. Guiding Lucía through the truth, she will help her connect with her mother's spirit and live in the beguinage with other women who, like her, long for a freedom that they cannot find outside. In her past, she loved intensely and had to overcome a traumatic breakup, but that passion is unleashed again, although this time she does not want to repress herself despite the danger of remaining in love with a clandestine and sinful love.
Sibila García (Melani Olivares): A distrustful, surviving and sensitive woman, who grew up in misery and prostitution. Pregnant, she decided to escape and found her place in the beguinage. Her biggest concern is her daughter and, even though she reproaches her for it, she will do everything possible to try to protect her. The succession of Lucrecia is disputed and she competes with Marie Anne for the position of Great Lady.
Guiomar Ruy (Ella Kweku): Nigua, an Antillean slave, was sold to a doctor from Seville who gave her her new name and educated her when he noticed the maid's innate curiosity. She learned the trade of midwife from her mother and cultivated her interest in the human body and botany. She obtained his letter of freedom and decided to move to the beguinage of Valladolid where he can develop his concerns and care for the sick. She has judgment, instinct and knowledge. She gets upset with ignorance, prejudice and evil. Shee feels a deep complicity with Gonzalo, the clergyman, a harmony that sooner or later, she will have to give a name to.
Beatriz García (Lucía Caraballo): Daughter of Sibila and one of the youngest of the beguinage. Innocent, happy and lively. Her sexuality is awakening and she enjoys her body with curiosity and without fear until life outside the walls pushes her to hide her most intimate impulses. Her freedom of thought and work contrasts with that of Lucía. She has a relationship with her mother that has ups and downs, but the love they have for each other is above all. Each has a lot to learn from the other.
Juana Aranda (Silma López): Daughter of Sancho, the owner of the workshop, and sister of Lebrín. She enjoys an independence that was uncommon at that time. She has chosen to enter the beguinage to avoid a bad marriage or ending up dependent on his brother. Intelligent, prudent and thorough. She is in love with Telmo, but wants to be reciprocated. He has such a noble heart that his love does not prevent him from empathizing with Lucía and helping Telmo when things go wrong.
Lebrín Aranda (Jonás Berami): Close friend of Telmo, son of Sancho, the owner of the bakery and the only brother of Juana, the beguine. Rogue, generous and lively, he knows how to live avoiding laws, rules and sins. He enjoys carnal pleasures and lets himself be carried away by Jimena's lust until he discovers her danger and her evil ways. He will use his best resources to try to save the Beguines from the Inquisition.
Rodrigo de Guzmán, Marquis of Peñarrosa (Javier Beltrán): He is Lucía's fiancé. Castilian nobleman, of ancient ancestry and fortune. He is very well connected and has negotiated with his future brother-in-law to settle his debts and open the doors to him in Court in exchange for this marriage. He loves Lucía, she seems to him the right woman to fulfill her role as marchioness. He is dutiful, splendid and traditional, but he does not hesitate to bring out his most sinister side when his commitment is threatened.
Munio de Avellaneda, Count of Vellaví (Jaime Olías): Lucía's brother and heir to the County, but also to the debts left by his father. He needs to recover privileges and fortune, and his sister's marriage is the perfect deal. Arrogant, irascible and proud. He is willing to do anything to save his lineage and keep up appearances.
Jimena Suárez de Córdoba (Meritxell Calvo): Munio's wife. Intelligent, frivolous and capricious. He hoped to live up to his condition, but the Avellanedas' fortune is in debt and the only thing that can solve it is his sister-in-law's wedding. She will do everything possible to help her husband achieve it. She likes to seduce, get the most out of life and cleverly circumvent the rigid rules that her lineage demands. She won't hesitate to play with fire when she meets Lebrín, a hummingbird who, like her, doesn't want to miss out on the pleasures that life offers.
Catalina (Laura Galán): Lucía's faithful maid. Affectionate, smiling, devout and superstitious, she is torn between loyalty to Lucía and fear of Munio. Lucía, her mistress, and the beguines, who will pay dearly for her ignorance. She will do everything possible to correct her mistakes and ease her conscience.
Lucrecia de Avellaneda (Elisabeth Gelabert): The Great Lady of the Beguinage. Daughter of its founder, Leonor Labrit and heir to her legacy for which she had to sacrifice her children, distancing them from her side. Married to Pedro de Avellaneda, who called her crazy, she took refuge in the beguinage where she served as Great Lady. Cultured and mystical, her life and death are surrounded by mystery.
Gabriela Grijalvo (Cristina Plazas): Widow of a renowned printer and mother of Gonzalo. Cultured and respected lady from Valladolid renounced her true love for fear of facing her son's rejection.
Gonzalo de Grijalvo (Ignacio Montes): Clergyman related to the beguinate. Intelligent, attractive and empathetic. She admires the Beguines for their devotion and devotion to those in need, but above all Guiomar, with whom he has great complicity.
Father Lasarte (Antonio Durán 'Morris'): A priest with pretensions, whose greatest ambition is to end the privileges of the beguinages and become part of the Court of the Inquisition. Cunning and scheming, he uses fear and ignorance to manipulate the people and get them to demonize these women, inventing falsehoods about them. His main objective is Marie Anne, the Great Lady, whom he cannot defeat.
Commissioner Utrera (Jorge Kent) The executing arm of the Inquisition in Valladolid. Pursue crimes that threaten the power of the Church. He has the beguines in his sights, but knows the risks of attacking them because they enjoy important social support. Shrewd, arrogant and libidinous, he exercises his power with the arrogance that his position gives him.

Autómata (2014)
Tumblr media
While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...
Writer/director Gabe Ibáñez has clearly seen Blade Runner. He’s obviously read Isaac Asimov’s works. What he didn't do is learn from them. Autómata aspires to be another cerebral sci-fi film. Instead, it's just a cheap clone. The slivers of good ideas peppered throughout are lost in boredom. If that wasn't bad enough, the film can’t even get its own rules straight.
In 2044, 99% of humanity has died. The survivors live in cities surrounded by deserts and rely on humanoid robots called Pilgrims for day-to-day labor. These robots have two unalterable protocol: they cannot harm any form of life and cannot alter themselves or other robots in any way. Jacq Vaucan (Antonio Banderas) is an insurance investigator working for ROC - the company that manufactures Pilgrims - who learns that a robot may have found a way to circumvent the second protocol.
Autómata begins with a proxy for Asimov’s three laws of robotics and is set in the world of Blade Runner, with towering sexy lady holograms in the distance and a crappy, overpopulated city below. An interesting, if familiar setup. What's next? Instead of a cop, our protagonist is an everyman. That’s an unexpected turn. And then? Bad decisions. The machine who turns Jacq’s world upside down is a sex robot working at a brothel. Not only has it been modified to do things beyond its basic programming (not illegal), it’s able to inflict pain on its clients if they request it. Big no-no. Now we're going somewhere. Or so you think. The movie isn’t really interested in exploring this idea. In fact, the sexbot is a massive misstep. The thing doesn’t wear any clothes so you see it parade around in the nude. Every time you see it from the back, you notice its individually modelled butt cheeks and can’t stop thinking about what those greasy robot fetish perverts have done in between them. Grosser is the fact the robot doesn’t look human at all. When some dude can build a gynoid who looks EXACTLY like Scarlett Johansson (also very gross) and the people of 2044 are having sex with a fancy store mannequin, your movie’s got problems! It may seem like a trivial detail but this thing’s a big part of the movie and there was no reason to make it a sex robot!
As the audience tries their hardest not to stare at Cleo’s crotch and plastic breasts, wondering how or why exactly someone would pay to do anything with those, the picture introduces a conflict. Following some outrageously stupid decisions by Jacq, the authorities believe he’s in cahoots with the altered machine and decide to give chase. Time to introduce the flattest, most uninteresting, most one-dimensional evil baddies you could… and again, for no reason.
It’s a badly written film. Whenever interesting thoughts are introduced, there’s no follow-through. Instead, the story goes for the generic path, the uninteresting path. Antonio Banderas doesn’t feel right for the part. I don’t want to pigeon-hole him in the role of a sexy action hero but he spends the entire film covered in dust or miserable. The charismatic actor couldn't be less appealing. The special effects to bring the robots to life are quite good, up until the very end of the picture when we're introduced to a new model. It sticks out like a sore thumb. The longer you watch, the less forgiving you become. Even before Autómata unintentionally has one of the robots break its own rules, you’ve given up on it.
Those who appreciate a good science-fiction story are the only ones who might find anything appealing within Autómata - a generic robot title if I’ve ever heard one. Unfortunately, those same people have seen the works this one is aping dozens of times. It’s forgettable. (On DVD, June 21, 2019)
