I was gonna do a pretty funny story today, but I decided it needed background information first so we're doing that today. Funny dum-dums tomorrow.
ONWARD!
For those familiar with JttW, you may have heard of the Dragon Kings of the 4 Seas, Ao Guang of the East, Ao Run of the West, Ao Qin of the South, and Ao Shun of the North. Or rather, you're probably familiar with Ao Guang because he's the only one that ever does anything significant to the plot and are vaguely aware the other 3 exist. Ao Run (otherwise known as Ao Jun or Ao Ji) also has a semi-decent chance of getting recognized because his sons are Ao Lie, the dragon horse that Tripitaka rides that's so committed to his role play as a noble steed he only ever does anything cool once, and Ao Moang, the dragon prince who helps the gang out one time when his asshole cousin beats up a river god and kidnaps Tripitaka for the third time that week. Other than that, they're kinda just... there.
Anyways, if you know about them and read my post yesterday about the dragon princess, you may be wondering which of the 4 dragon kings is her father and the answer is.... none of them! You see, there's another, more biggerer dragon king that's the boss of all of them! I can't really find a name for him other than Long Wang (lit. Dragon King) but he seems to be in charge of the other 4 and was the one that put them in charge of their respective seas to begin with. I like to interpret this as him being their father and the biggest baddest dragon king, which would make the dragon princess from yesterday their sister and Chiantang their uncle. I think that works out pretty well, don't you?
Other than that there's Ao Bing, Ao Gguang's third son, whose claim to fame is getting killed by Nezha that one time because his dad couldn't leave well enough alone, and Ao Lie and Moang's sister Xihai Longnu who's apprenticed to Kuan Yin, and their brother Ao Cinxin, who I couldn't find anything interesting to say about.
And that's the whole Dragon Clan! (Mostly) Do with them what you will!

Behold! The Mighty presence of The Dragon Kings of the Four Seas!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm so happy with how they turned out! Especially since I lost the original file for Ao Guang 😔
If anyone has any tips on how to organize a comic I'd be happy to have them! I'm still sort of paralyzed about getting the first page done (๑•﹏•)

Well, I decided to upload another excerpt for a chapter again.
That is until I can get back into writing and artwork overall. I have been sick with stomach problems all of last week and I am hoping to feel better. Anyway, here is the excerpt:
Akuta was angry with Qin Shi Huang for doing this to him.
“WHEN IS LORD XIANG YU COMING HOME?! HE SHOULD BE HERE TO HELP THIS MAN!!”
“He’s… at work late unfortunately,” the old man said. “It should at least take him half the night to get home. You, on the other hand, need to help him along with that tired girl, Lady Ao Bing.”
“Can you at least help me with that tired dragon girl,” Akuta asked the old man.
“Fine,” he said. “Though you have known this man since he was a child. I have a feeling he would trust you more.”
Akuta wanted to say “but I” but she just couldn’t. Seeing Lanling under this condition just made her feel awful. Fortunately, she was able to pick him up due to how lightweight he was and due to the fact that he had passed out. But she did feel how wet his underclothes as well as his entire body was and had to feel it the entire way to his own tent. It may have been a short way, but it still felt like forever with him on her back.
After laying the man in bed, she was about to get to work with him. Those wet clothes couldn’t do and might make him catch a cold, so she had to take them off and… no way. There was no way she would strip the prince naked, even if she had spare clothes for him. But he was soaking wet and cold and he did have a blanket in his tent.
That being thought of, she ended up taking them off while looking away and she gave him some spare underwear along with some black hanfu pajamas and a warm blanket. Though it wasn’t too bad. It kinda felt like having to change his clothes when he was a baby or a toddler during his mother’s work hours.
Akuta did notice how bloody his bandages were and had to use her first aid kit and change them before she could put on the top half of his pajamas
“It’s okay,” she told him. “It’s not gonna hurt forever, Changgong.”
Was it okay though? Akuta knew what Qin Shi Huang had done to this man for the past 12 years and it could be like that forever. He did look really peaceful and handsome when he slept in his bed though. Though Akuta wished he could be at peace with the people he loved.
Akuta folded Lanling’s favorite outfit near his bed and eventually left his mask, some shoes, and his hair tie beside the clothes. Then she left the tent for real to take care of his white horse, Bai se Hua.
Lanling’s items of comfort were not allowed in Qin Shi Huang’s palace, and that included his horse. So the prince was extremely miserable there. On the bright side, he was at Akuta’s camp where he would be safer. Though that would mean that Akuta and the Captain, aka the old man from before, would have to stay up almost all night having to take care of the people they cared about until Xiang Yu could get home.

Sun Wukong x Dragon!Male Reader
An idea stuck in my head. Tempted to make a fanfic(i am considering it as i write this lol) but imma do this first so i get into some kind of flow. Reader will have a name(sorry) but human appearance is up in the air somewhat for you guys.
————————
Wukong couldn’t help but stare. He never could control his body when Huanglong was involved. It was naturally attracted to the dragon. Be it of awe or affection, he was just had to have Huanglong in his mind.
And now was no different. Sun Wukong, Huanglong and kids were in Pigsy’s Noodles shop. The kids were having an eating competition with Pigsy aggressively scolding them (that by no means is stopping them) while the Monkey King and the Yellow Deity sat in one of the more secluded booths, drinking a soothing tea. Not that it was working since Huanglong was glaring daggers into Sun Wukong’s form.
Sun Wukong glanced away from his… ex-lover? Wukong certainly didn’t consider Huang to be that but it would seem the dragon did. With an avid fury too. Sun Wukong slid further down the seat, face reddening. He took a cup of lukewarm tea and brought it to his lips, biting back a groan of disgust, afraid that if he spoke Huanglong would kill him on the spot.
The stone monkey looked back to Huanglong, taking in the dragon’s human form. His H/C hair was pulled into a messy man bun while the other half cascaded off his shoulders like beautiful waterfalls, bright yellow streaks came from the roots near his forehead. He wore clothes similar to Wukong’s, only black with yellow and gold accents and much more scaly in texture. Huanglong had four orbs floating behind his head, the highest orb being black, the left being blue, the right white and bottom red. Sun Wukong knew they represented Huanglong’s four younger brothers; Ao Shun of the Northern Sea, Ao Guang of the Eastern Sea, Ao Ji of the Western Sea, and Ao Qin of the Southern Sea.
Now, where would Huanglong fit into this family? Well, since his brothers took to the seas, Huanglong took the lands. All of Earth is protected by Huanglong.
It was hefty task that he probably couldn’t take on himself, no matter how hard he tried, Sun Wukong admitted to himself.
“Sun Wukong.”
The stone monkey jumped at the sound of his name, straightening in his seat and curling his tail properly on his lap,”Y-yes?” he squeaked.
“You wanted to speak with me?” Huanglong said slowly, a quiet entrancing hiss in his words. Wukong had will himself to not jump across the table and kiss Huanglong. Gods he missed the sound of his name coming from those lips. “Yes.. yes I did, ahem..” Sun Wukong cleared his throat, once again flushing at the feeling of having Huang’s attention on him. He didn’t notice the tip of his tail swinging.
“I.. I wanted to talk about that day.” Huanglong’s already sour mood turned several degrees more sour, electrifying E/C eyes glaring holes into Sun Wukong,”What about it? There is nothing to say.”
“Come on, Huang. We both know that’s not true..” Wukong tried, already itching to completely change the subject that he brought up. ‘Deep breaths, Wukong. He hasn’t torn your head off yet, you can still do this.’ he comforted himself. Taking a breath, he clutched the cold cup in his hands,”We both have things to say about then. A-and I plan to say them.” He spoke resolutely despite the slight stutter, warm gold eyes steely but wavering, his inner coward was begging him to stop. To run away again. Sun Wukong had always listened to that voice. But today, today was the day he would ignore it and face at least one of his problems.
“… I see.” Huanglong whispered, leaning forward onto the table and placing a gentle hand onto the teapot. His hand glowed slightly and before long the pot was steaming again. He poured the tea into his cup and took a sip,”Then how about we start with you, hm?” The dragon said, half lidded eyes unmoving from Sun Wukong’s.
Sun Wukong gulped, words of retreat bubbled in his throat but he swallowed them down before they could come out,”… Okay,” he cleared his throat and shuffled,”First things first, I want to say I’m sorry.”
Huanglong simply blinked. And Wukong already felt exhausted from those few words. He felt heavy, his armor felt more weighty than before, as did his eyes. He blinked the fatigue that tried to settle in his bones away, sitting up taller and gulping down his chilly tea.
He forced words to spill out of his mouth,”I know… I know a simple apology won’t suffice. It never will and I… fuck, I’m so sorry. I didn’t want to leave you there, to fight that demon on your own. I… I’m a fucking idiot. And I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you, even if it takes millions of tries and millions of years to do so.” Sun Wukong felt like throwing up. Those few sentences felt like sandpaper on his tongue and sticky bile was climbing up his throat. It wasn’t that he was disgusted by the situation, he was just so violently uncomfortable that he felt sick. The cold tea wasn’t helping…
Huanglong, basically being an expert on Sun Wukong’s behaviors, saw the discomfort in the tan furred immortal. Huanglong’s finger twitched against his cup, hands wanting to cradle Wukong’s face and pepper him in kisses, forgive him for his act of abandonment and just return to how life was before. But his still wounded heart won’t let him, afraid of being hurt again. Instead, Huanglong made a compromise,”I accept this apology.” Wukong seemed to light up at that,”But,” the monkey’s shoulders drooped,”I do expect numerous attempts to fix what you have broken. You broke much more than our relationship. This apology is but a beginning, the end is far.”
Sun Wukong let out a resigned hum but nodded. He went stock still when he felt a warm hand on his. “But, knowing you, my King, the end is never far.” Huanglong smiled fondly as the red that burned brightly on the ear he had whispered to. Leaning back and removing his hand, Huanglong stood from the booth,”Thank you, Pigsy, for your hospitality. I will have to repay you.” he lightly bowed to the short pig, who was holding two noodle-stuffed kids by their throats. The pig smiled,”Ah, don’t worry about that! You’re welcome here anytime.”
Huanglong nodded,”Thank you. I bid you all a farewell.” With that, the legendary dragon disappeared in a sparky display.
MK tilted his head back to wiggle his eyebrows at his mentor, who was still sat at the booth like a statue,”Oooo, someone’s got a crush!” He teased. MK’s tease seemed to bring Sun Wukong back from whatever plane of existence he was, he chuckled, face blooming red,”Hah. I wouldn’t call it a crush, kiddo… it’s complete infatuation.” Wukong hummed dreamily, hearts in his eyes.
MK grimaced,”Ew. Get that look off your face. You look weird.” Wukong didn’t hear him. He was too busy thinking about kissing Huang again.

2023 Fic+Vid recs
A variety of things I liked this year, made this year. Once again, this got long, so fic recs and fandom-specific recs for dmbj are below the cut. But first a few miscellaneous vids
[vid] Cockroach Motherfuckers by eruthros, thingswithwings multifandom Immortal queer characters multi-vid! This is exactly as much fun and hopeful as it sounds. I've seen maybe 2 of the sources so you know, you don't have to have seen them all.
(We) Didn't Just Come Here to Dance [Fanvid] by FairestCat fandom: Newsies I haven't actually seen newsies, but I really liked this vid. Taking the (very dramatic) musical theater dancing and putting it to a Carly Rae Jepsen song works SUPER well, visually very fun time. Also, unions!
[Vid] Oceanographer's Choice by absternr fandom: Heroes (cdrama 2022) Bai Choufei, Su Mengzhen, and Lei Chun's fucked up relationship(s)/falling apart bad times. This vid is deeply upsetting, just a real exploration of sometimes caring a lot about each other makes everything worse. For maximum sad times, this goes well with absternr's other heroes vid, hey, I just met you, which is the meet-cutes that led to this whole mess.
[AMV] The Draw by Lovely Goblin fandom: Revolutionary Girl Utena Black Rose Arc! I've watched this vid so many times really good weird and creepy black rose arc vibes really good parallels between all the different duelists
Also blanket rec that if you've seen Everything Everywhere All at Once, consider looking for vids for it. There's a bunch on ao3 (which can be easier to navigate than youtube, though there are definitely more total vids on youtube) and they're pretty much all spectacular? I was going to include one or two in this rec post and couldn't decide
The wild phonemes of 40 Eridani Keid by astronicht Fandom: Star Trek (aos/tos mashup canon) relationship: Spirk ~10k words rated E You know if you'd told me a year ago I'd be reccing a spirk fic in 2023 I would have been a bit surprised. This is not particularly my fandom wheelhouse. But you know, they're always good, and this fic is really great. This is almost an episode-fic except that nothing really happens plot-wise. But instead of a plot we get a lot of musing about geology and diplomacy and clever references to current events as history in that very trek kind of way and Spock being bitchy just for fun.
fuori dal mondo by bladedweaponsandswishycoats fandom: Qi Ye relationship: Beiyuan/Wu Xi, Beiyuan/Zhou Zishu (more plot than ship focused) ~60k words rated E This is a retelling of Qi Ye except Beiyuan is... some kind of eldritch horror, part-time. It pretty much goes beat for beat through canon (which I appreciate, I loved that book and do not like any of the current tls enough to reread) but with the added layer of whatever is going on with this eldritch thing, which is very cool and tied into canon so don't let me spoil it for you.
We're Leaving Our Shadows Behind Us by lady_ragnell fandom: Tortall - Protector of the Small relationship: Kel/Neal/Yuki ~70k words rated T Canon retelling of Squire and Lady Knight but from Neal's POV. This fic really digs into Neal as a character and the details of the worldbuilding of Tortall, especially the chamber of the ordeal. Also somewhere along the way it sold me on this ship, which I wasn't exactly rooting for when I read the books the first time.
The Untamed/MDZS
a harmony between qin and se by Alaceron relationship: Wangxian ~60k words rated E This is a gender-bent (to make it a het romance) no magic historical drama au where Wei Wuxian is a woman who's arranged to marry Lan Wangji. Honestly this is pretty far from the untamed, especially in terms of themes, though some plot elements will be familiar, but mostly it's just a really great compellingly written historical drama, that happens to have main characters with some familiar characteristics.
Like a Game of Chess by countingcr0ws relationship: Wangxian ~40k words rated T Modern au: influencer Wei Wuxian runs into Lan Wangji on a trip to Taiwan and they travel around together. I love all the little details of their trip - it's like getting to see a new place without going anywhere. Also sometimes I forget that wangxian are very cute? They're a good ship brant
The Epic Highs and Lows of High School Zine Production by el_em_en_oh_pee relationship: Jin Ling & Jiang Cheng, Jin Ling & the mdzs juniors ~7k words rated G Modern au: High schooler Jin Ling has big feelings about a lot of things, including zines, gender, and family. One of those juniors-centric fics that makes me say oh they are Teens huh.
DMBJ
A Little Hole in the Wall by MountainRose gen, Liu Sang centric ~8k words rated G Honestly I would rec this fic even to people who know nothing about tomb shows. One thing that really draws me to a book is descriptions of food (I have read multiple food memoirs this year), and this restaurant au has AMAZING food (and food prep) in it. Not too plotty, mostly just descriptions of delicious things and characterization via cooking.
green with an attitude by ilgaksu relationship: heihua ~8k words rated T If you are in the English language dmbj fandom and you care at all about heihua you probably have already checked out ilgaksu's fic, which has basically defined heihua for the English language fandom. My favorite heihua moments are when other people show up and give you that foil to realize how weird they are, and this fic has that both via Xiuxiu and Wu Xie. Also, a fic about dancing!
making anything last, keeping anything safe by A (mumblemutter) relationship: Wu Xie/Xiao Bai (background pingxie) ~8k words rated M Post canon Xiao Bai takes Wu Xie to explore a tomb that should be perfectly safe... (They set off a sex pollen trap.) I don't particularly ship this, but this fic was extremely well done and kind of sold me on the ship. Fun tomb, really fun characterization for everyone involved.
A World Made Over, Fresh and New by Thimblerig gen, iron triangle, Wu Xie & Li Cu ~1k words rated G If you've ever gotten specific dmbj fic recs from me, it's probably included something by Thimblerig, they're amazing at pulling in very specific canon snippets in under 5k words and I'd generally recommend going through their work by tags if you're looking for fic with underloved side characters or fic set during a part of canon that isn't UN or post-canon, which are generally easier to find. That said, this particular fic is in fact the fandom staple of post-reboot let's go look at a tomb and pulling in a big ensemble cast including some reboot folks. But it's a staple because it's a good vibe, and this is a really well done sliver of friendship and relationship building and perhaps even a tomb trap?
[Vid] Still Into You by absternr iron triangle ot3 This vid is a bop! Multi-tomb show iron triangle being in love, through the years! I've got this bookmark tagged as "joyful"
[vid] When He Died by teyla Wu Sanxing-centric This vid really leans into the weird tomb nonsense and conspiracies and builds to something quite odd, meant in the best possible way. A concentrated version of what tomb shows want to be at their best, from a horror/strange spooky things perspective. Mind the tags.
[Vid] Before I Do by absternr Xiuxiu character study A vid all about Xiuxiu being a badass - she's so clever and cunning and she will figure out and surpass her family history.

The Dragon Boat Festival; and Nezha the Dragon Tamer
There are many topics I have yet to discuss here, but as the Dragon Boat Festival draws near I want to talk about how even with a celebration as widely spread as the Dragon Boat Festival - this too could not escape Nezha's indomitable influence. No matter how you celebrate, near or far, I hope you can enjoy this post.
Warnings before Reading: Suicide by drowning in relation to an origin myth is discussed.
To begin, I would like to describe the Dragon Boat Festival's signifigance in the Chinese conciousness and where it came from for those otherwise unaware or encountering it for the first time in this post. As these points are repeated numerous times in various places, I feel comfortable forgoing the usual providing of as many citations as possible. I am happy to present citations regarding the festival itself upon request.
The origins of this festival are commonly attributed to the death of Qu Yuan, a poet and member of the Chu Emperor's Court during the Warring States period. Qu Yuan had been exiled on suspicion of deceit and betrayal through suggesting an alliance with the state of Qi to better defend against the ever growing threat that the Qin state was becoming. His prediction would prove correct, the Qin captured the Chu Emperor and the state of Chu was fully surrendered. Hearing this news, and despite his exile, Qu Yuan would drown himself in the Miluo River of Hunan Province in 278BCE (1).
Qu Yuan's choice to drown would go on to inspire the origin of the much beloved zongzi, common food fare during the festival. Depending on who you ask, upon learning of his suicide, the nearby villagers would throw rice into the water to either prevent the fish from eating his body or to feed his now disembodied water spirit. Despite these attempts it was noted that 'dragons' would always interfere, the culprits likely being massive whiskered catfish in the river. With this frustration it is said Qu Yuan would go on to tell the villagers to wrap the rice into the now iconic bamboo leaves they are steamed in, making it impossible for the 'dragons' in the river to consume it.
But why dragons, you may ask? Within various pieces of Chinese folklore and popular mythos it is confirmed consistently that dragons' element is water. Controllers of the rain, rivers and seas, creators of the four great rivers in China following disagreements with the Jade Emperor himself when he trapped four dragons under mountains for bringing water to the villages during a disastrous drought.
Tumblr media
What's the deal with the long dragon boats then? Though they are exclusively designed for races in mondern days and were only sailed in honor of Qu Yuan starting around the 5th or 6th Century AD, they historically were more aligned with farming purposes. In the Lunar Calendar the month of May typically lands during the Summer Solstice period - a crucial time period in growing rice where the seeds need to be transplanted. Across southern China the farmers would ask the dragons to watch over their crops and help prevent droughts (2). In honor of the dragons these farmers would carve the bow of their boats into a dragon's face, the action of rowing symbolic of replanting the rice crop. Even the tetrahedral shape of zongzi can be explained here, said to be in the image of a cow's horn, a most auspicious symbol for good crop yields.
Tumblr media
Though it has been argued that dragon boat racing originated as a military exercise (3) within the province of Hubei, both explanations have come together under the umbrella of honoring Qu Yuan (4). It is always important to remember the non-linear nature of many myths and folk tales, changing and adapting with the people who cherish and retell them.
At this point you surely must be asking how Nezha factors into any of this, but I assure you, he is celebrated during this time as well.
Even if the only tale of Nezha you are familiar with is his conflict with Ao Bing and subsequently Ao Guang, it is important here to establish his reputation as someone that subjugates dragons. Even within the pages of The Grand Compendium of the Three Religion's Deities this was a point not to miss (5). His reputation as a dragon tamer would even inspire eighteenth-century belt makers to dedicate a temple to him near Beijng's Black-Dragon Pool (6).
This reputation would only be enforced during the Yuan-era of Beijing, called Dadu at the time. A fourteenth-century legend would state that the capital was modeled after Nezha's likeness, the eleven gates corresponding to his three heads, six arms, and two legs; his reputation giving reason for posturing him as the capital city's guardian (7). This story was so widespread that in Yuan-era literature the city of Dadu was also referred to as Nazha Cheng (Nezha City) (8). However Dadu was extremely susceptible to droughts and periods of flooding at the time, both things attributed to the Dragon King.
It is Nezha's duty as the city's celestial guardian that attributes one of his birthday to coincide with the Dragon Raising Its Head - a period of time when Dadu's citizens would pray and beg the Dragon King for good weather (9) and historically an important date that welcomes both spring time and a very long farming season.
This is a much lesser known connection that is shared between Nezha and agriculturally significant events, but it would not surprise me if one day Nezha himself sat on the bow of one of these dragon boats cheering for the rowers to go faster.

(4) Within northern China it is actually not Qu Yuan who was initially honored but someone completely different, a man wronged by his lord who fled into the woods only for this same lord to set the woods ablaze killing him. A very similar story hails from Fujian province of a man named Wu Zixu who was also wronged by his lord in a story far too long to be kept in a citation. However his body was thrown into a river upon his death, his anger powerful enough to create raging tides. He is worshipped as a river god and connected to the Dragon Boat Festival in this way. Even the pervasive filial piety makes it's appearance in the form of the Han Dynasty story of Cao E who searched up and down the river bank for her drowned father's body. She had wanted to provide a proper funeral but eventually threw herself into the river on the fifth day, only to be revived and presenting her father's body in her arms - the Gods smiling upon her filial action and granting a blessing. Qu Yuan however is remembered best for his love of his country and ultimately his self-sacrifice.
(5) At five days old Nezha overpowers the dragon-lords and even kills their king - implicating his father Li Jing and serving the basis of their feud.
(6) Li Qiao, Zhongguo hangye shen chongbai, (Beijing: Zhongguo Huaqiao, 1990), 199-200.
(7) This is a fairly fantastical retelling of how the architect Liu Bowen developed the idea to give Dadu eleven gates and isn't rooted in the reality of the process. Dates, names, and places are severely inconsistent but it is itself indicative of Nezha's influence.
(8) Xiao Dengfu, "Nezha suyuan", 20-23.

Mythologically: 赤龍 -> Ao Qin aka Chilong aka the Dragon King of the Southern Sea is the brother of Ao Run, Ao Guang, and Ao Shun making him the uncle of the more well-known Ao Lie (Or Bai Long Ma). Ao Qin appears in Journey to the West alongside his aforementioned brothers. He's a red dragon and is known as the embodiment of summer. Supposedly he's a prankster and fire deity.
My version: Being the embodiment of summer Ao Qin has a rather sunny personality: he's chummy, warm, confident, loud, and relaxed, but most of all he's happy. He's probably the happiest celestial you'll ever meet though I think that has something to do with his wife. He loves his wife guys, like so much. He's also got plenty of kids as he and his wife have a kid every few decades. But he has one major secret... he's actually the king of a massive sea demon kingdom and he has been for years however he's been hiding this fact from the celestial realm and his brothers. How they haven't found out yet is up for debate. Ao Qin also has a massive sea monster, named Pepe, as a pet.

Sooooo..... I got a new book, and I love it.
Tumblr media
There's a lot of cool information in here that isn't in my other books, and it's made me rethink some of my head cannons. Case and point: the Dragon Clan.
See, previously I had speculated that the 4 Dragon Kings were the sons of the Dragon King of Dongting Lake, but this book actually says that he has 9 sons and gives a nifty list of their names: Qiuniu, the first son, Yazi, the second son, Chaofeng, the third son, Pulao, th fourth son, Suanni, the fifth son, Baxia, the sixth son, Bihan, the seventh son, Fuxi (no not that one), the eight son, and Chiwen, the ninth and youngest son. s you can see, Ao Shun, Ao Guang, Ao Run, and Ao Qin are nowhere on that list. However, I still really like the idea of them being related, so what if they weren't his sons but his brothers? We already know he has one brother, Chiantang, so who's to say he doesn't have a few more?
Here's my thought process: Long Wang is the eldest brother and is more or less in charge of the others. He gave out jobs to all his little brothers except Chiantang, who had to stay with him because of the incident. That would make the Dragon princess from our other story their niece instead o their sister. I think this line up pretty well. What about you?

Another Fix it Fic Chapter Here
An excerpt of it at least. Here it is:
The tent was open, the sun was in her eyes, and she was too exhausted to get dressed so she put a blanket around her waist. Eventually, she found the bookmark which lightly stabbed her foot. But that just had to go on her desk in her book which she put it on quickly. Then she went on the way to her saber’s tent.
It was a rather short way and it didn’t feel like forever this time because Akuta had no one on her back to carry. But it was gonna be exhausting knowing what ride she was in for as she opened up the mucky colored tent flap.
“Saber, are you awake?”
He just rolled in bed, acting used to the pain he was in.
“Saber?”
Akuta repeatedly asked his name. It didn’t matter if it was “saber, Changgong, Su, or Lanling,” it just had to be one of his names.
“Are you hungry? You need to get up and get ready.”
“I’m… not interested,” he replied with a yawn. Despite that, he slowly opened his pale blue eyes.
“Master, you’re half naked. Please get dressed instead of staying in your underwear. It’s not proper or ladylike.”
Akuta facepalmed.
“Some things never change, huh Su? After all these years, you still want me to properly clothe myself and not sleep naked or half naked.”
“It’s because your “clothes” barely cover you up sometimes and you are basically walking around like that,” Su replied in a snarky tone.
“You know what kid, you should get dressed too,” Akuta replied with a chuckle. She then pointed to his clothes. “Also, don’t forget to wash your face, fix your hair, brush your teeth and whatnot. Xiang Yu is making breakfast for us and Ao Bing.”
“Whatever,” Su replied. “Don’t call me kid. I know you’ve known me since I was a small child, but I am an adult man with a wife and a son.”
Akuta left the tent to get dressed.
Gao Su, otherwise known as the Prince of Lanling, felt like he needed to do the same. He stripped off his black hanfu style pajamas. During the process however, he ended up feeling his bandages and remembered that Qin Shi Huang whipped him for being “disrespectful” to his “father”. But why did he need to call Qin Shi Huang his father, he thought. He was no father to him. Just a man who his mother married since he killed her previous husband.
Just thinking about everything made Gao Su get a headache, but when he felt his head he remembered the bandages on his forehead. As soon as he took off all his bandages on his forehead and stomach area, he felt some wounds on them. Whipping scars on the back, and a scar on his forehead from a rock thrown at him by one of Qin Shi Huang’s followers. He ended up feeling his arms and wrists as well, noticing his self harm scars might’ve faded a little but barely. Su knew he shouldn’t do that to himself, but he couldn’t really feel like he could help it since it was his only coping method.
Su lightly slapped his face and realized he needed to snap back to reality instead of just being lost in his own thoughts.
