always bugged me that the tumblr tv we built in 2015, which is still available if you’re using a web browser (here’s glitch, change the url or click the tags to surf around), gets confused with the tumblr tv we built in the apps in like 2020 or something, which is an entirely different product. makes these stories really confusing and inaccurate. the old tumblr tv on web was never in Labs, and the new tumblr tv was never in Labs, just the ability to access it as a tab was in Labs. (along with many other cool tabs we should launch. 😏)

This whole concept has been stuck in my head for a few days and I never yapped about it to anyone so I ended up drawing it.

To explain what's happening, in case it's not too clear; Ginger (the kibby) has been able to hear a lot More stuff due to their recent mutation, and thus has trouble sleeping. So, they go to the lab where Donnie (the turtle obv) is working. And the loud, more-or-less consistent noise blocks out/overrides all the many little sounds, which helps Gin sleep. :3

alright i'm gonna yap about my WYPB sequel (currently at 20k & counting!!!)

So this fic uses the concept of Marcus' commando app being "Mike", a Totally Normal Kid. Mike's "purpose" ig you could say is to be a sort of emotional/social protector, he's triggered out by Marcus' general social anxiety but the root of it is not feeling "human enough", so he takes over to give Marcus "time off" as well as to mediate social conflict. He can front for weeks or possibly months at a time.

it's tricky balancing Mike's personality in this fic, because hes nice and chill and laid-back but like in the way that that guy who hangs out w like the "popular kids" (super annoying disrespectful bullies) is, yk the one who's not as bad as them but still lets their behavior slide. If a situation is beyond saving (like if Marcus is being bullied very badly) he'll just chill until they move again. he's more confident than Marcus so bullying doesn't really bother him. At his core all he wants is to protect Marcus (that's his socially awkward little brother!), but it puts him in a weird position bc he has to make nice w all these ppl that are awful to Marcus.

it's also kinda funny bc the current situation in this fic is SO far out of Mike's comfort zone. He's used to fronting at like, particularly bad schools or when Douglas is being more snappy than usual, and now he fronts and suddenly Douglas is in jail and Marcus is dying.

If Bobby is very much actually dead, I am going to find it hilarious and not in a way that is going to get me agreed with or necessarily liked.

This whole episode (I can agree on the faults of this episode [cause there are quite a few] while still having these opinions) was about/centered upon the refusal to accept the passing of a person.

The cast (specifically Kenny, whose character is one of the ones having the most trouble accepting Bobby's passing) was very active on social media also kicking up a fuss about Bobby's passing.

Sound familiar?

Fans have been very much kicking up a very big fuss since the release of Lab Rats.

911 is a comfort show to many, I get that! It was our silly little wee-woo show, I get that! It was our silly little gay firefighters show, I get that! There have been quite a few times were characters have survived things that they very much otherwise shouldn't have survived, I get that!

But I think yall are still very much forgetting how serious some topics on this show can get. How serious Bobby's lore was.

Stop watching the show if you want, it's your choice, it's completely within your right!

But at the end of the day, it is a tv show. It should not be that serious to send complains/threats/whatever extend some "fans" have been doing.

If a tv show is/can affect your mental health that badly simply over the death of a character, you might need to take a step back.

Memory Wipe [episode] AU where instead of donald, leo accidentally wipes ten years of chase's memory. "5 year old" chase is immediately set into a panic from a) he doesn't know who leo is, and b) he's never been outside the lab or worn "normal" clothes before and he's scared because he doesn't know where he is (+ hes overstimulated as all hell), so "baby spike" comes out. It takes both adam and bree to calm down chase enough to get rid of spike, the interview is still a bit of a mess, and then they have to confess what they did bc only mr davenport can reverse it

i feel like cheritz could've made henri's route a bit longer, maybe 60 or 90 days at least instead of 30 days. there's still some conflicts left unsolved, and i doubt they can clear up everything in that short amount of time. idk tbh it just feels like lazy writing to me. cheritz quality really has gone down

I find Henri's character really interesting. His story has a potential too but Cheritz wasted it sadly. 😮‍💨 Personally was expecting 100 days. I was curious what will Henri do to celebrate his and MC of 100 days together. I guess we wont see it happen now.

I'm worried about the ending tho. Hopefully I'm wrong but I have the feeling that Henri/June's ending will be similar to Harry's. Harry's ending was very disappointing.

i was making a silly post about the book i’m reading and it got out of control. long text down there

i’m a genetics at heart and i really like to do that annoying science thing where i try to find a logical explanation to everything. yet i was reading my book (about genes) and the author got to a part where he discusses the genetic link of gender identity and identity in general and for some reason i dont like it? i mean, i agree. everything is genetically determined (or influenced). and it makes lot of sense right? the cascade of molecular signals orchestrated by genes is so large and complex we barely begin to understand it. so it makes sense to think that a change in some part of that chain may cause my genetically female genes to fail to signal binary biological femaleness causing me to not have the identity or physiology of a female. but the thought of it makes me feel weird?.

i have always been really curious about the biochemistry and genetics of transgender people but i have never actually made any research on it partially because i feel scared that by finding any “true” biological reason behind my identity it will be less valid or something.

genetics are so weird because they are us and they are everything. they are inescapable and all controlling (almost? kinda), yet they are so abstract and we are so limited by our ability to visualize and understand them that we end up having to talk about them in political, moral amd cultural terms. like gender and identity and illness or disability or violence. but those things are so marked by our interaction with our environment and our need to categorize things that we end up taking a lot of unrelated meaning with them when we try to understand something so uninterested in us like genes and anatomy. it’s weird. but it’s not like we can do much to help it can we. am i making any sense now? i love genetics but god they are a difficult area to understand in not science terms. and the history of genetics is so so messy and complicated and cruel at times. and we haven’t even started to play with genes yet. i’m happy gene therapy and transgenics and crisp technology are so regulated. i don’t know how much longer we can week ignoring them for though.
