@brassandblue continued from X
“Indeed,” Arthur replied, his eyes and thoughts drifted toward some unseen distance. Despite his apparent youth, his eyes and furrowed brow spoke of a far greater age; the sort of look only someone who has lived long years can have.
“Perhaps this whole war might have been avoided if governance were given more thought over self-interest. Speaking in the hypothetical of course, Sir,” Arthur added with a glance toward the kind Major.
Arthur liked the man already. He was quiet and stoic and hospitable and there was a sincerity to his patriotism of Britannia that Arthur found both quaint and refreshing.
He was, for a time, to await orders in Setauket before continuing on to the continental interior. It was a cozy little town, a little too buttoned up for Arthur’s liking but he passed the blame for that onto the all too frequent Puritannical influence one might find in these particular British colonies. It all left him restless though, and wishing he had not volunteered to find his American counterpart—he wanted to be in a ship, not stuck there on land. It all made him feel dreadfully useless!
Edmund spent a moment considering Arthur’s words, by his brief meeting with him he had decided that the man was intelligent beyond his years and that their conversation could venture into philosophy or the less obvious but so much more important aspects of the war. He had of course not wanted to be there either, needs must though.
He ran his fingers over the soft feathers of his quill while he thought, taking great care not to dot his uniform nor fingers with any residue ink as he stole a quick glance to where Arthur had cast his gaze off to, no, nothing he could see, just deep thought and maybe some melancholy over the war dragging its heels or maybe something more personal.
“Since we are speaking hypothetically, were opportunity to arise are men more likely to act selfishly or thoughtfully? If a man seeks power it is not always likely that he does so with the intention of anything but personal gain.” He said quite thoughtfully, his lips pursing slightly as he considered if he should continue, oh, but he did so enjoy having the chance to speak some sense in such a war. “There are of course exceptions, but then forcing a man into power will make him unhappy and would an unhappy man do a better job at governance than one who aimed and landed in a position he wanted?”
He knew he had enough headaches in his garrison alone, let alone trying to keep the innocent of Setaucket safe from the Continental Army, he could not imagine the pressure of a higher rank and all that came with it. How some lusted over such things he would never understand.

The Allahakbarries was an amateur cricket team founded by author J. M. Barrie, and was active from 1890 to 1913. The team's name was a portmanteau of Barrie's name and the mistaken belief that 'Allah akbar' meant 'Heaven help us' in Arabic (rather than its true meaning: 'God is great'). Notable figures to have featured for the side included Rudyard Kipling, H. G. Wells, Arthur Conan Doyle, A. A. Milne, E. W. Hornung, Henry Justice Ford, A. E. W. Mason, Walter Raleigh, E. V. Lucas, Maurice Hewlett, Owen Seaman, George Cecil Ives, and George Llewelyn Davies, as well as the son of Alfred Tennyson.
Barrie's enthusiasm for the game eclipsed his talent for it; asked to describe his bowling, he replied that after delivering the ball he would go and sit on the turf at mid-off and wait for it to reach the other end which "it sometimes did". The team played for the love of the game, rather than the results it achieved, and Barrie was generous in his praise for his teammates and opposition alike. He praised one teammate's performance by observing that "You scored a good single in the first innings but were not so successful in the second" while he lauded the opposition's effort by pointing out how "You ran up a fine total of 14, and very nearly won". He instructed Bernard Partridge, an illustrator from Punch magazine who was afflicted with a lazy eye, to "Keep your eye on square leg" while bowling, and told square leg, "when Partridge is bowling, keep your eye on him." He forbade his team to practise on an opponent's ground before a match because "this can only give them confidence".

How to Develop My “Arch”
An “arch”, is any writer’s guide, teaching you how to write a medium (not a genre, a political aim), for law in courts, the space between observation, and rules, the components and rules combined between observation and rules, a secondary state wherein the external and the rules are stripped from view of argument.
In other words, the amicus curae is impossible, the consultation from historian, the undergraduate in education, the parole officer, and the master’s in history, the concreted abstract, is the same, with the remand upon state to prevent past disaster researched through class taken as 500, undergraduate, and TA’s program, introductory, the shift to repeal upon common worker in reformed.
You can draw these from “arches”, in my background, as an example, a resource economics (commodities, anti-Italian), world history (Catholic Crusades, pre-law ACLU anti-Saddamist), and creative writing (clerk, insurance issues, sales upon register).
Batman (MI-6 orphan), Green Arrow (MI-6 affair with President), Hellblazer (drug dealer butler Anglican), Arthur (King of Nine Kingdoms, Ireland, Britain, France), Joker (Friend to Clan Ally, the Jew, INTERPOL/KGB), Mordred/Starscream (Pierre the Coward, British Spy in the Third Crusade), Captain Blackbeard/Mad Hatter/Superman/Joker (Self-Scribe, Edward Thatch, lying journalist), Cobra Trooper (C-17, John Charlie), Puck (Williams Theater House, Globe Theatre, Research Writer), Hollywood/Film Freak/Maltese Falcon (John Markham, Jehovah's Witnesses, Theater Spy), Robin Hood (Ares Gypsy, Lairdship, the Morguesmaster), Wolverine (James Hewlett O'Neill Logan, Ace Comics Writer, Minnesota, KIA, Korean War, sperm stolen to Marie Paradis, grandmother), Victor Zsasz (Combat Magazine, Marie Paradis, Research Theory, New England), Raoul Silva (Self, Class Election Prank, Republican, Heterosexual Class Council Candidate, Nazi, pro-Tory).
Each one of those, has an easy Wikipedia reference of related characters, to place in any space, through information given to barred defense attorney, with actual written character removed, hence the “carpentry”, the brace, upon the “arch”, the masonry, obscured, to defeat the Freemasons, who demand deliberate lines, against cops and journalists and empowered women, as doctors and spies and internationalists, interchangeable.

The Saint: The Elusive Ellshaw (2.5, ITC, 1963)
"Well, there's nobody here."
"Yes; you wait here, I'll go round the back, see if I can get in a window."
"Simon, do you think you should?"
"Well, I am trying to break the habit."
#the saint#the elusive ellshaw#leslie charteris#1963#itc#harry w. junkin#john llewellyn moxey#roger moore#angela browne#richard vernon#ellen mcintosh#philip latham#anthony bate#walter brown#philip bond#norman pitt#arthur hewlett#james ottaway#nicholas pennell#a solid murder mystery episode (Simon even assembles the suspects in the drawing room!) finds the Saint (at first anyway) unusually#disinterested in the case (he blames loneliness for a woman's story about being followed. egg on his face when she gets murdered! actually#as an aside‚ that onscreen murder of a woman is fairly unusual for early 60s tv; the Avengers generally steered clear of showing that kind#of violence). then it's off to the country and a shooting party hosted by Richard Vernon's aged patriarch (actually Vernon was only 9 years#older than screen son Philip Bond). the excellent guest cast elevates this one (Anthony Bates!) but it is a little let down both by Simon's#casual misogyny in the first act and by some awkward class politics in the second (of course the working class northern member of the#shooting party is an uncouth‚ sneering dick; of course the old money upper class family are really Quite Nice Actually and Ever So Kind)#we also get our third and final Insp. Teal before the big one; Norman Pitt is I'm afraid to say very much the weakest of the three one shot#Teals‚ getting very little to do and a poorly developed character. he does appear tho to be chewing gum in one scene‚ a surprisingly#faithful nod to the book Teal (a perpetual gum chewer) which the other actors didn’t perform#iirc Dean substituted peppermints for chewing gum; personal preference or acknowledgement that gum was now had youth associations by 1963?

Arthur, 23
“I'm wearing a @prayforchristian hoodie and real tree camo overalls with the Thrasher Vans slip on shoes. I get my style inspiration from cartoons and skate culture and my friends. I’m really inspired by industry brands like A-cold wall, also Pharrell Williams, Nigo, Tom Sachs, Kim Jones, Coco Chanel, Raf Simons, Kaws, Takashi Murakami, Jamie Hewlett and Daniel Arsham. My favorite is the 1990s to early 2000s because it’s the era I know the best cause I grew up in it and around that time there was a great boom in the art world from the music industry to the film fashion animation and technology industries.”

Three years after John André's alleged death, the subjects of his research are ready to take his former financial backers to court – - but what happens when he is revealed to have been living under a pseudonym, still in clandestine communication with one Benedict Arnold? What happens when events back in Europe reveal that André’s proposed methods have been put into widespread practice? This time, the fight for justice is taken up by the original offenders and taken to new fields as five powerful families exploit sport in the service of statecraft as institution and establishment are increasingly marginalised by self-serving partisanism and public apathy.
(Or, the Napoleonic Wars as told through the medium of modern football.)

Last one so I stop spamming you XD <3 Hewlett will thoroughly enjoy Harry's quiet and gentle company and he will love sharing any of the arts with Jack if he'll let him. Francis is protective of Arthur but its his loyalty and support in that terrible time he won't ever forget <3 Moriarty enjoys Jack's ingenuity and resilience, he does have a favourite city after all >.>
You are encouraged to spam me ALWAYS!
Harry and Edmund being gentle and supremely nerdy Scots makes ME happy-- but Harry will absolutely love his quiet and gentle company likewise. He'll have so many questions about horses and astronomy.
Arthur sees a lot of himself in Francis--the temperament, the melancholy, the call of the sea. And so, he was a bit offput at first (naturally). But he quickly began to appreciate his keen mind and the concern of Francis' for the crews over saving his own career. He thinks Francis is brave and brilliant and he will ALWAYS consider Francis Crozier to be his Captain.
Jack likes Moriarty's brilliance, sense of style and culture, and that Moriarty likes London. The rest he could do without.
