O retorno tão esperado do Demolidor de Charlie Cox ao Universo Cinematográfico da Marvel (MCU) pode não ter agradado a todos os fãs. Recentemente, Chris Brewster, um dos dublês da série original da Netflix, fez críticas à forma como o Homem Sem Medo foi retratado pela Marvel Studios em Mulher-Hulk: Defensora de Heróis, afirmando que transformaram o icônico personagem de Hell's Kitchen em um "personagem de desenho".

Em uma entrevista ao podcast Izuku Unscripted, Brewster revelou que a Marvel deixou claro que não deseja que a nova série, intitulada Daredevil: Born Again, se pareça em nada com a versão apresentada na Netflix. Com exceção de Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal e Vincent D'Onofrio, nenhum dos profissionais que trabalharam na série original foi convidado a retornar para o novo projeto. O dublê expressou sua preocupação com a situação, afirmando que talvez seja tarde demais para corrigir essa abordagem.
