Clan Secrets-verse (3) Tobirama Senju!

So let's dive right in to this.

In Clan Sectres, Tobirama became Hokage during First Shinobi War, just after Hashirama dies of unknown illness.

His regin as the Hokage is five years long. He dies at the age of 62 y.o. becoming over four years older than Hashirama ever got to be.

He marries as of yet unnamed Hatake, fathering twins born almost nine month after his death, thus never meeting them.

His wife, in fear of her husbands enemies and wishing for a somewhat normal childhood for her children, hides under her maiden name of Hateke with her twin sons Takuya and Sakumo Hatake(we will be back to that).

Now this hidding thing only works because both of them were extriemly private people, with only direct and close family knowing about the whole relashionship. Kagami also knew, having been adopted by them both almost the moment Tobirama started training him.

Now back to the twins. They were born 38 years Before Kiyubi Attack (this is essencialy my calendar for this world so get used to that phase), with Takuya being younger by a few minutes.

Takuya is killed on a mission (infuelced by Black Zetsu, making him a victim of Senju Purge even if unknowingly (if you don't understand check out my other posts)). He is eleven, death date: 14th of June, 25 years Before Kyubi Attack.

Sakumo dies at the age of 29 years old, death date: 13th December 8 years Before Kyubi Attack (Kakashi is six at the time).

Kakashi is born 14 years Before Kyubi Attack (when you read down, you will see that Obito is two years older than Kakashi. It is not a mistake.)

And while we are discussing Tobiramas 'lineage', we must also talk about Kagami the adopted child Uchiha.

This one is more simple because I haven't fine tuned his timeline yet to be honest. Anyways, Kagami at some point marries Asami Senju, a childhood friend, and has a son Tora (yes, like the demon cat) Uchiha who marries Elizah Uchiha (she will be important in the future, I promise) born around 38 years Before Kyubi Attack, dies at 28 y.o.

They have two sons, the elder one - Obito Uchiha (yes, that Obito), born 16 years before Kyubi Attack and Shisui Uchiha, born 10 years Before Kyubi Attack (he was only six when Obito 'died' so he doesn't really have much memories of his older brother, what with war going on and everything.)

Obito dies at 27 (I think, and hope I didn't mess up the time line with this one) and Shisui at 18.

And thats it. I hope it wasn't all over the place.

Unity Clause

Fugaku is taking a long lunch from the Police Force when he feels Shisui's chakra flare off in the distance.

When he arrives at the scene, it's just in time to witness Danzo rip out Shisui's eye and Itachi swoops in to rescue him.

He follows Itachi's shushin (it leaves a thin chakra trail that Itachi's not as experienced at hiding) and comes across Shisui about to step over the ledge while Itachi seems frozen in place in terror/horror.

He quickly shushins over and grabs Shisui before he can do anything drastic then grabs Itachi and uses Hirashin (Minato taught it to him shortly after Itachi was born) to get back to the house quickly.

Mikoto drops a plate and slips into a fighting stance when the sudden chakra appears in her house before she realizes who it is.

She's horrified by the sight before her and quickly snaps to attention, directing Itachi to sneakily get Asami. Quickly!

Fugaku carries Shisui into his room (Shisui has had a room at the man houses since Fugaku and Mikoto realized his parents were... debatable at best) and lays him on the bed.

Fugaku isn't a medic nin, but he does know a bit about medical ninjutsu and tries to gauge the severity of the wounds. Obviously the missing eyes are worst, but he knows that os beyond his limited skills and focuses on the lesser injuries.

Itachi, meanwhile, dodges all the cameras in the compound to arrive at Asami's, who is, thankfully, alone. When he explains what happened, she's out of her chair and grabbing the storage scroll that holds all her medical equipment.

Back at the main house, she quickly assesses the scene and starts barking orders at the clan heads, who hurry to obey recognizing her seniority in this situation.

Everyone seems to forget Itachi, standing mutely in a corner still silently crying and highly traumatized by what happened.

At least until Asami orders someone to retrieve the Aburame clan head because she recognizes the poison in Shisui's system and only they have the antidote.

Itachi is once more ordered to leave and find someone.

Shibi is more shocked to have Fugaku's heir on his doorstep than the news that Danzo poisoned someone with his clan's specialty jutsu.

To avoid suspicion, Shibi henges into a bug and rides back to the Uchiha Compound on Itachi's shoulders.

He administers the antidote while Asami works on Shisui's eyes (Itachi having given back the other one somewhere in the chaos) and Fugaku heals the lesser injuries.

Given the situation, Asami decides to induce a coma for a few days to let his body recover and adjust to having his eye back/get the poison fully removed.

Shibi insists on knowing what happened, which now that he mentions it, no one is really sure what happened. All eyes suddenly fall on the visibly shaken Itachi.

For once, Fugaku takes pity on his eldest and uses the Sharingan to retrieve the memory of events.

Itachi falls to his knees in tears as he recount his newest nightmare for his father then has to listen to Fugaku recount the incident to Shibi, Mikoto, and Asami.

(Someone give this poor 11 year old a hug. Please.)

Shock and horror abounds. "What do you mean Danzo stole a kekki genkai?" The Uchihas are less shocked (there's been rumors about Danzo and Kagami for years), but no less horrified.

"Actually, this... this might actually work to our advantage," Fugaku says after the explanations are finished. He explains the Unity Clause (essentially a law written in by Hashirama and Madara that if 3 clan heads (or two if they happened to be the Uchiha and Senju) were ever in agreement that the hokage wasn't doing a good job, they could force a new election).

"If you'll agree that this is a horrifying oversight on Hiruzen's part, we just need to find one more clan head."

I have gotten very attached to the hc of Inoichi being Shisui's genin sensei. Someone points this out and recommends Inoichi for the third.

Fugaku is inclined to agree and sends word via his summons this time (he's finally realized Itachi probably should be resting and not running around the village while in shock).

Inoichi arrives, gets filled in, and immediately agrees to helps. He may have only started training Shisui as a favor to Fugaku, but he's grown to care about the boy. Plus, Inoichi has his own reasons for hating Danzo/disapproving of Hiruzen

Taggy Thingy ~ Favourite Females

Thank you so much :D ^_^   Rules are to post ten of your favourite female characters from different fandoms and tag ten mutuals. 1)Tsunade Senju (Naruto): At first i became impressed with her Taijustu xD the way she split open the earth with her foot and fist: beautiful! And then i warmed up to her character. Out of the hokages, she’s my favorite! 

2) Riza Hawkeye (FMAB): Harboring a tough facade yet cradling a heart of gold made me fall in love with this queen in the chess.   

3) Sora Takenouchi (Digimon): I resonated a lot with her. Still do. My earrings are shaped in the form of her crest of love. Need i say more? :’D 

4) Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titans): Her protective side and her determination!!!!

5) Asami Sato (Legend of Korra): How can you not love this precious babu?! She’s perfect! Aside from her caring nature she was a hell lot skillful! 

6) Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter): I do relate a lot with her sleepy demeanor. People have said to my face that i look sleepy (one of the reasons why they call me panda if i were to be an animal). But added to that, i actually like her character; she wasn’t afraid to be just her. Evanna played her character wonderfully! Her this quote will always be one of my favorites. 

7) Uraraka Ochako (BnHA): Her dreams, her nature and her power made her my favorite <3 

8) Penny (The big bang theory): She’s awesome xD Her sarcasm was priceless. And when she used to get on the nerves of Sheldon xD ( i actually loved their duo) 

9) Misa Amane (Death Note): She evil; yes. She’s manipulative: yes. Do i love her: YES! Case closed. 

10) Phoebe Buffay (Friends): I loved her eccentric likes and quirks. At times she used to get annoying, but even then i adore her. Plus her wardrobe!!!

Biography:

Aika Senju is the eldest daughter of Hashirama Senju and Mito Uzumaki. She is the most talented among her siblings,and the only child of hashirama to inherit his godly kekkei genkai: Wood release.

When she was 18,she met kenshin for the first ever in konoha. Aika,who found kenshin so mysterious,went to him for a chat. Kenshin wasn't talkative,in fact he'd never talk to people if he deems it unneccesary. So he didn't tell her anything about his past and asked aika to stay away from him.

It took over five years for kenshin and aika to develop a romantic relationship. Senju clan didn't dare to speak up about their worries since they were afraid of kenshin. Aika was seen as the most worthy of all childs of hashirama and also the wisest one,but she left konoha for kiri.

In 1999,Aika became the first person to die because of curse of indra,casted by madara in order to kill kenshin but failed because of his godlike life force and his lion sage mode. Aika's death affected kenshin deeply,and worsened his depression,which eventually cost him his life two years after his beloved wife's death,on september 11th 2001.

Starting off: every clan is effectively a separate “country”. they each have different beliefs, holidays, patron gods, traditions, and understandings of life. by the founding of konohagakure over 800 years have passed since the Rokudo Sennin died and his kids started fighting, meaning that the fire country clans are separate, but regularly interact, which is why there are similarities between clan cultures, but nothing is exactly the same.

playing off of keanblade’s “red eyes are blessed” au, the Uchiha have the Patron Goddesses Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. however, in addition to red, orange and yellow eyes are also hailed as marks of the Goddess Amaterasu’s blessed. Tsukuyomi has her own blessed markings as well: lavender, silver, or white hair. they are known as the RedEyed and the MoonBorne. Albino folk are seen as blessed by both Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu. further more there are the StarSkinned, people who have galaxies (colourful and vivid in the view of the Sharingan) painted on their skin, and who are said to be made of stars; they are people with vitiligo. they celebrate the summer solstice with a midnight bonfire in the clan compound square, hold fire in their hands like a candlelight vigil without wax as they cremate their dead, hold passion and family-friends-parter-love very very dearly.

all Hatake are wanderers and the clan itself is nomadic; they live in Enclaves of family-friends-parters-children-parents-cousins, and don’t care for blood as much as they care for kin. their Patron Goddess is Asami, ruler of spring, flowers, plants, creatures, life, love, joy; she rides upon her companion, an elk made of storm, rain, lightning, water, rage, fury, protective might, thunder hooves. they celebrate the first snow fall, the spring cherry blossoms, the joining of new kin. Asami’s blessed are shown with pale-stone-shade hair in white, silver, red, grey, brown, blond; albino folk are common among them. there are five hatake clades, separated not by blood but by summons species, with their guardians taking different forms, and each bearing different names: Ōtori, Fūgawa, Hebida, Wagara, Yoroki.

the uzumaki live on their island, with roads made of water and houses of coaxed coral growths, seals in their brains and tenacity in their blood. with their Patron Gods Raijin and Ōwatatsumi, they embody the storms and tides and the raging seas and howling winds of the oceans they inhabit, strong, stubborn, feirce, and deadly. red, white, and black hair, as well as red, purple, and blue eyes are very common among the major uzumaki families; additionally, ink, seals, tattoos, piercings, and ornimental jewelry play a large role in their culture as ways of marking milestones of personal growth and major life events. the uzumaki have a similar system as the hatake, marking people with different names not for blood relation, but for individual abilities. those like the Umino, Inka, Karatachi, and Hozuki would be native to Uzushio, clans that make up the greater concept of “The Uzumaki”, with family abilities like exploding seafoam bubbles (Umino Utakata), chakra-ink beasts drawn onto scrolls and brought to life (Inka Sai), the ability to coax corals to grow and flourish (Karatachi Yagura), or to see and breath better underwater than above it (Hozuki).

the Senju are more strict than other clans, more controlled abd wary, often seeing the larger picture rather than the smaller details. they find an ideal and are able to dedicate themselves to it in their entirity, living, breathing, and fighting for that goal with a single-minded and stubborn purpose and in this they can often lose sight of the people around them.

these ideas are the begginingbasis to what i’m starting to develop from a vague concept i had in my head weeks ago that started simply with “why do summons speak the same language as the humans in the elemental nations” which devolved into “i’m making an entirely new language for the summons” and then “what if there was a clan so close to their summons that they could understand and use Soul Speak?” it was mire than a rabbit hole. i fell into the fucking void.

I don’t even know who to feel more sorry for in this chapter. 

Pairing: MadaraTobirama Word count: 3317 Story summary: Madara used to be a man feared even by those of his own clan. Life's really changed since the village was built. Among those changes is his relationship with one Senju Tobirama - and apparently everyone else knew about this even before he did.

“You stop that.”

Although Madara had used his firmest tone, one with which he could control entire battlefields, Kagami did not listen. The infant cradled in his arms continued to fuss and cry as though he hadn’t even spoken. Rather rude, in his opinion.

Kagami’s parents had left two days ago, entrusting him to care for their child while they travelled to the other side of Fire Country to visit some relative or other who…who…alright so Madara hadn’t listened too closely to the reason behind their journey. They’d been gone two days and would be gone for several more and that was all he’d paid attention to. Had he not known that the region they were travelling to was currently too dangerous because of clan infighting he would have tried to convince them to take the baby along for the trip. Unfortunately he’d had a spontaneous rash of goodwill and agreed to watch him while they were gone, something he was currently regretting.

He was starting to suspect that Kagami was more aware than any six month old child had any right to be. If there were someone else around he was as calm as one could ever hope for yet each time Madara was left alone with him he began to cry. Did he already hate his clan Head so much? What had Madara even done to him yet that could warrant such dislike?

More worrisome than a possible distaste for his current caretaker, Kagami’s coloring was what was causing Madara concern today. As a true-blooded Uchiha his skin should have been a lovely light shade of ivory, with that translucent glow which romance novels the world over lauded as “creamy” and “milky” and all other sorts of disturbingly food related adjectives. He had indeed been the correct color when they both woke up that morning. Now, however, he was flushed a light pink across his face and his nose had begun to run. Madara had given some thought to plugging his nostrils with tissue so he wouldn’t have to keep wiping up the disgusting mess but worried that it would stop him from breathing.

“You’re the wrong color,” he informed Kagami, trying to sound at least marginally calmer than he really felt. “I don’t like it.”

There were quite a few things he didn’t like about this and, though he’d been trying to deal with the situation on his own for a few hours now, it felt as though things were quickly spiraling out of his ability to control. The screaming he could deal with. He knew how to fix that now: if all else failed, he could just go find another adult and leave Kagami with them for a bit. That usually seemed to work. It was a conspiracy, he would swear. The runny nose he had reluctantly learned to live with by carrying a pocketful of tissues and cringing with each wipe. The diarrhea and occasional vomiting, on the other hand, he wasn’t sure what to do with.

With great reluctance and a lot of loud complaining, Madara had grown used to changing an infant’s diaper. It was disgusting but he could hardly leave little Kagami to stew in his own excrement. This, though…this was an entirely different level. The frequency! The consistency! The smell! His panic levels only rose when the vomiting began.

It took until three hours past lunch for Madara to give in. He needed help. Izuna was away on a mission and it was becoming clear that whatever was wrong with Kagami – and something obviously was wrong – it was not something he knew how to fix. He’d only waited so long for the fear that he would be told this was all somehow his fault. He very much did not want Kagami’s parents to come home only to find out he had broken their child while they’d been gone.

Could a clan Head be impeached for accidental breakage of a child? He’d have to look that up in the annals.

Since the first step to recovery is admitting you need help, Madara figured he had already given in and he might as well leap with both feet. If he wanted someone to help him then he should go to an expert. He should go to someone with childcare experience whom he could be certain would know what they were doing. He should go to Tobirama.

Kagami did nothing but fuss and dribble out a little more snot when Madara balanced him on his lap and raised both hands, forming a few shorts seals before pressing one down on to the couch cushions next to him. A puff of smoke formed under his fingers and when he lifted his hand it was to see a young cat in the same spot he had just touched. The gray tabby stretched, jaws opening in a wide yawn.

“Mrow! Madara-sama called. What could he want? Mrow!”

“Asami,” he greeted his summon. “I need you to go to Tobirama and tell him I need him. Life or death. Very important.”

“What Madara-sama asks, so shall I do. Mrow!” Being a cat, Asami made sure to casually lick her paw a few times before deigning to rise and doing as she’d said she would. She leapt on to the back of the couch and bounded out the open window, heading off in the direction of the Senju compound.

Alone once more, Madara wriggled his arms underneath Kagami and lifted the boy to his chest, trying to imitate the pleasant tune he’d heard Tobirama singing for Kagami when the two of them had first met. He hadn’t attempted to sing so much as a single note since he was a child trying to calm Izuna with a lullaby. Now as an adult he suddenly understood why his little brother had only cried louder: his voice was the exact opposite of calming. When he tried to hum it sounded more like a weasel gasping out its dying breaths in an accusatory manner. It was little wonder when Kagami began to fuss louder.

He had less than five minutes to wait before his front door was thrown open and a familiar figure burst in, expression tight and weapon at the ready. He looked prepared for war until he spotted the two poor figures in the corner of the room. Madara and Tobirama blinked at each with equal amounts of surprise, Kagami’s wails the only thing filling the silence of the house.

“Uhm…” Madara murmured intelligently. Tobirama glared at him.

“Your summon came to fetch me. Said it was ‘life or death’. I see no death happening here, Uchiha.”

With the rising panic still swirling around in his chest, Madara stood from the couch and lifted the crying child in his arms a little higher. “Not yet!” he wailed. “He could be dying, Senju! What did I do? Why is he red? How do I fix him!?”

“Calm down,” Tobirama told him, automatically slipping in to a soothing tone as he sheathed his kunai. “Go back to the start. What’s wrong?” Madara took a breath, trying to calm himself as ordered. It didn’t work.

“He won’t stop crying again. And he’s all red. And his nose runs and his shit runs and his vomit runs. He’s just…runny! From everywhere! Did I do something wrong?” His eyes widened, composure slipping again. “I can’t kill a baby, Tobirama, especially not an Uchiha baby!”

“Alright, it’s okay. I’m sure it’s not as bad as you think. Let me see him.”  

Tobirama’s hands brushed his own as he took the baby from Madara, who could feel a tiny edge of the desired calm settling down around him at the touch. He watched as the younger man inspected little Kagami, pressing the back of one hand against his forehead and looking just a little too closely at his snot for Madara to be comfortable.

“Do you have a thermometer?” he asked eventually.

“Yes!” Madara leapt up from the couch and dashed down the hallway, glad to be of some use at last. He’d spent half the day feeling utterly useless until now. When he returned and handed the thermometer over Tobirama gave it a quick look before nodding in approval.

“Good. Not a rectal thermometer.”

“You want to put what where?”

“A lot of parents get rectal thermometers for children this young, since they can’t stay still long enough to hold it under their tongue and it’s hard to mess up taking an internal temperature. Personally I’m just as glad to use other methods.”

Madara twisted his mouth to one side. What two consenting adults did in their spare time was one thing – one thing he would admit to having partaken in himself. But sticking something up an infant’s ass before they could even understand what was happening struck him as weird. And gross. And weird. Did people really do that when their poor child was sick and miserable already? As Tobirama had said, he too was glad that there were other methods for that sort of thing.

Curiously, he watched his guest place the thermometer under Kagami’s armpit and gently hold one tiny arm down while he waited for a result. Kagami wailed and squirmed, making snot dribbling down one side of his face, so Madara fished a clean tissue out of his pocket to wipe it away with. He frowned defensively when Tobirama gave him an indecipherable look for doing so.

“What?” he demanded.

“Nothing.” Tobirama shrugged one shoulder innocently before finally checking the thermometer reading. “Hm. It’s a little high but nothing to really panic about yet. You said he’s been experiencing vomiting and diarrhea? From what I can tell, it looks like our little man here has the flu.”

Relief flooded through Madara’s system for a brief moment. “Oh. Just the flu. He’s not dying.” Then it drained away just as quickly when Tobirama made as though to hand the child back to him. “What? No! You have to stay and help me! I don’t know what to do with a kid that has the flu!”

“Just keep him hydrated and cool, let him rest if he wants to.”

“Please?”

Tobirama’s brows drew down, not in a true frown but more of a look of contemplation. Madara made a passing attempt at the pathetic puppy eyes Hashirama always seemed to get his way with. He wasn’t sure if he truly succeeded or if the other man simply decided to take pity on him but in the end it didn’t matter. He nearly fell over with gratitude when Tobirama sighed gently.

“Fine. When was the last time he had a bottle?”

“I think about four hours ago.”

“Let’s try and give him another bottle. It’s important for him to stay hydrated. That’s basic sick care, Madara, the same as you would do for yourself.” The younger man gave him a slightly reproving look as though to ask how he didn’t think of that. Madara coughed and looked away.

“Uh-huh. Same as I would do for myself.”

Of course, there was absolutely no way he would admit that he hadn’t even known that. He didn’t get sick very often and when he did he tended to ignore it and try to push through until his body forced him in to bed rest. Usually Izuna watched on with a shaking head and resigned expression, which Madara had never understood until now. Evidently there were actually methods he could have been using to try and help himself feel better. Interesting.

Kagami took his bottle with an enthusiasm that made Madara feel a little guilty. The poor thing actually took a break from crying to clamp his toothless gums around the nipple and suck it back like he’d been dying of thirst. He’d certainly cried enough tears today to work his way towards dehydration, something Madara also hadn’t thought of.

He worried when Tobirama sat him down on the couch and set the baby in his lap.

“You’re not leaving are you?” he asked. His guest shook his head.

“Don’t panic, I’m just running him a bath. It’ll help him cool down a bit and the water should help soothe him.”

Bath time, though it sounded simple as a concept, was a very small disaster. Before he could even be put in the water Kagami vomited. They cleaned him up and threw his soiled onesie in to the laundry with the others after rinsing it off then headed for the bath again. Then as soon as he was set in the water he peed and Madara had to hold him as Tobirama emptied the sink and filled it again. On a normal day Kagami loved bath time, always cooing and trying to hold the water in his teeny fists. Today he thrashed his arms and splashed both of the men trying to care for him, soaking their fronts. He wasn’t quite screaming as he had been but he still fussed and whined where he would otherwise had smiled, obviously uncomfortable in his own body.

Although Madara usually let him play in the water for a while, to keep him quiet if nothing else, they ended bath time as soon as he was reasonably clean. Tobirama drained the sink and put away everything they had used for the bath while Madara wrapped Kagami up in a fresh diaper. He was just reaching for some clean jammies when Tobirama peeked over his shoulder.

“I know today must have been frustrating for you but you shouldn’t really take it out on the kid, you know?”

“What are you talking about?” Madara scowled at the face hovering over his shoulder. “I didn’t do anything!”

“You’ve swaddled him so tight it’s a miracle he can still move.”

“Well you do it then!”

He stumbled a bit when Tobirama hip-checked him out of the way, grumbling and shuffling closer again so he could watch how the other man did it. There was nothing wrong with how he put on a diaper. Nothing! They were supposed to be tight or else they’d fall off! Even Izuna had agreed with him on that point.

Watching Tobirama was like watching something entirely different. The man’s fingers were quick and deft, flicking through each movement with ease and confidence as though he did this every day. Madara huffed and turned away to go find himself a dry shirt to wear. It wasn’t that impressive. Of course it wasn’t. Why should he care about the way he could tell even just from watching how gentle Tobirama’s touch had been? He shouldn’t. He didn’t.

Annoyed with himself, Madara made sure to offer Tobirama a dry shirt as well by throwing it at his head. Oddly, his attempt at violence didn’t garner more reaction than a poorly hidden smirk and a quiet ‘thank you’. He huffed again and didn’t reply.

Dinner, when the time came, consisted of simple sandwiches that Madara threw together while Tobirama rocked the baby and dealt with another bout of diarrhea. They both ate in the living room, taking turns cooing for little Kagami and trying to distract him even a little bit from the discomfort that his body barely understood how to deal with. While he did stop screaming his head off endlessly, he continued to fuss and squirm and have frequent bouts of piteous wailing.

The rest of the evening passed in a similar way. The two men shared the task of holding Kagami in their arms and doing what they could to soothe him or keep his nose and diaper clean. Each time Tobirama left the room Kagami wailed and Madara despaired that this child would ever accept him as a capable, likable human being.

When Tobirama finally had a moment to change his clothing and don the shirt he had so graciously been given, Madara nearly had a heart attack at the sight of him. He reasoned that it would be a shock to anyone in his position, seeing someone else wear his clothing for the first time. It was just strange, that was all. The weirdly breathless feeling in his chest must mean that he was also coming down with whatever sickness Kagami had picked up. Luckily for him, Tobirama didn’t seem to notice the effect he had on his host. The younger man sat down by his side and took the baby from him without a single word about the strangely rapturous expression on his face. Madara used the silence to take a few deep breaths and try to calm his wildly racing heart.

Night fell quickly but still Kagami was wide awake. His temperature hadn’t fallen, though it also hadn’t risen yet. Madara had changed his shirt again when the little fiend vomited down his front only moments before he’d tried to offer him a bottle. Tobirama had laughed, the traitor.

They took turns staying up over the next few hours. Kagami slept in short bouts, only to wake up crying and thrashing after less than half an hour each time. By the time he finally fell in to a restful sleep and stayed asleep it was five in the morning and both of his caretakers were absolutely exhausted. Madara stood in the doorway and stared at the crib in wonder after forty-five minutes had gone by without the child waking up. He gave some thought to checking for hallucinations but, in his tiredness, decided he didn’t care. If he was hallucinating then he might as well enjoy the quiet and the chance to rest.

After making sure that Kagami was tucked in just the way Tobirama had shown him, Madara shuffled slowly across to his own bedroom. He was at the edge of his bed with one hand reaching out for the covers when he stopped with a frown. Tobirama was spread out across the top of the covers, evidently too tired to even find his way underneath the blanket. He lay face down as if he had collapsed there, head buried in one of the pillows and both arms spread out in either direction.

“Hey,” Madara grumbled tiredly. When he got no response he tried again. “Oi, Senju.”

He poked at the hand closest to him. It twitched and Tobirama groaned but gave no other answer.

“What are you doing?”

“Sleeping. Obviously. Hush.”

“You can’t – that’s my bed.” Madara’s petulant frown went unseen as Tobirama couldn’t even be bothered to shrug apologetically.

“Shhh. Sleeping. Tired.”

“Well where am I supposed to sleep?” If he had one ounce less of self-control, Madara would have stamped his foot. “I want to sleep in my bed.”

Tobirama grunted and slowly retracted one arm. At first Madara thought he meant to get up and could hardly believe that it had been so easy. Then he watched with disbelief as the younger man simply tucked his arm under the pillow he was face-down in, snuffling quietly as he resettled himself. When he went still again Madara understood what had been offered.

He was too tired to even process it.

The bedsprings bounced as he flopped down on to the mattress with little grace, curling on to one side. He didn’t have the energy to care whether or not his head was on the pillow or to check that he wasn’t crowding the other man. He didn’t even have the mental faculties to care that there was another man sharing his bed; it barely even registered. All he cared about was the sweet bliss of closing his eyes and allowing himself to drift in to a well-earned slumber.

Dawn crept up on them mere hours later, although no one in the house stirred quite yet. Had there been anyone there to bear witness they would have seen the first light of day passing across matching smiles worn by both Madara and Tobirama as they dreamed sweet dreams that were suspiciously similar.

Backstory: The granddaughter of the second hokage, Tobirama, Asami has a lot to live up to, pushed beyond limits any child should have to endure. During such instance, she accidentally killed her father (who was very likely to be the 4th hokage) while he was trying to teach her forbidden jutsu. Because of this, most of the village has ostracized her, including her mother. Though most don't know the whole truth, as knowing that the would-be 4th hokage was teaching forbidden jutsu to a 6 year old would probably piss off a lot of people and soil the Senju name.

Growing up, she had a schoolgirl crush on Obito. Nowadays she finds contentment in pouring herself into missions, rarely ever in the village, hating the scene of the Senju complex empty besides her, though she does do the upkeep in hopes that one day there will be life back in the complex. Most who are close to her are convinced she's on the track to hokage as her grandfather (and father) was, but Asami doesn't quite like a lot of things the village does and isn't particularly fond of the idea of leading *everyone*, especially when a large portion of the village thinks she's a murderer.

Most of her life is controlled by her mother, her family name, and the 3rd hokage. She hasn't made a decision about her life beyond what to eat for dinner in so many years, she wouldn't know how to at this point. She's rude and standoffish when first meeting people, rather aggressive, but once acquainted she's rather mellow and silent.

PHYSICAL.

HAIR:  Soft, straight and long brown hair that when left down, passes her waist and ends at just above the ankles at the longest strands. EYES:  Pointed, medium sized, deep emerald green color. NOSE:  Medium large, normal width, slender. FACE:  Formerly round but more pointed as she ages. LIPS:  Thin, well-formed, often painted with dark shades of red lipstick. COMPLEXION:  Sun-kissed, clear. BLEMISHES: None. SCARS: A couple of dotted, very faint scars are littered on her neck, arms, sides and thighs. There is a long scar that protrudes vertically across her right eye, a scar that Senju Butsuma gave her. Random scars that Toka has acquired through her years of relentless combat. TATTOOS:  Emerald green dragon on her back during her ANBU years, has it removed after Tobirama’s death. PIERCINGS:  She’s pierced her ears with senbon before, but she has pierced her ears several times. HEIGHT:  5′8. WEIGHT: TBA. BUILD:   Slender but fairly well toned.with little, if any, in the way of body fat and muscles lined throughout her arms, legs, and abs. On casual, political or formal occasions, she usually wears it in braids or up in ponytails. A long fringe covers the right side of her face that covers a scar on her right eye, a scar given to her by her own uncle, a scar that makes her feel incredibly insecure. Whenever she is not on a mission, she prefers to wear hanfu, ao dai, qipaos, kimonos, yukatas, hakamas, haoris and furisode in casual times, in the spring and summer seasons. They vary from different colors, preferably blacks, greys, greens, reds, purples and blues. The designs can range from a variety of things be it flora, fauna, entire landscapes and mythological creatures. However, in times of war, she is always seen in her deep, dark green armor that was made solely for her. In the colder seasons, such as autumn and winter, she tends to lean more to clothing with furs on and inside them. She also is fond of winter cloaks. Some of the outfits she wears consists of her own homemade outfits of animal furs she had skinned herself, Toka was very proud of her kills. In the Era of Warring States, her armor consisted of a dark suit underneath forest green armor that has the Senju emblem on the back, beneath the dark suit, is an extra set of fishnet armor for additional protection, and her forehead protector is emblazoned with the Senju emblem. Her hands are equipped with black gloves and she wears dark high heeled shinobi sandals. She is often seen wearing a dark shade of crimson lipstick, and her fingernails and toenails are painted an emerald green. Later, when Konoha is founded, Toka’s forehead protector symbol is changed to the Konoha symbol and the cloth is a pitch black color.
