Athy felt a distinct, painful throbbing in her chest as she watched Ijekiel surrounded by the girls in their pastel colored dresses, their fans fluttering as they covered their laughing mouths. One of them presses closer to him, sliding a hand down his arm as he barely acknowledges her before he takes her hand off his person.

Athanasia's lips curl up in an unbecoming snarl, disgust dripping off her words as she mutters under her breath, "Get your hands off him."

Because Athy hated that he had to touch her in order to do so. Hated that the woman dared to touch him when she was right there. As if she didn't respect her, thought lesser of her, thought she was better than her and thought she could attain someone as wonderful as Ijekiel when she wasn't Athanasia de Alger Obelia- the princess that caught his eye and heart from the very moment his eyes landed upon her that one spring day in the flower meadow.

Athy flicks a finger and a gust of wind blows through the room from an open terrace entrance, whipping dresses around, fans smacked against noses as they lose their grip on the handles. Athy's lips twitch, watching with barely disguised humor at the ladies that struggle to right themselves, their hair in disarray and Ijekiel takes that opening in stride.

He slips between the gaggle of ladies and makes his way to her, the chandelier lights dazzling upon his silver hair, his eyes softening as he reaches out with a careful hand to press a chaste kiss on her glove. She sees the lady that approached him so closely ripping apart a napkin and Athanasia hides a smirk. She reaches out, still holding his hand tightly in her other as she places her other hand onto his cheek. With all others watching, he turns into it, breathing out with a peaceful sigh.

Watch, all of you. He is not your beloved Ijekiel Alpheus, son of Duke Alpheus, prize to be won and adored. She faces them now, a smile adorning her face. He is just Ijekiel. My Ijekiel.

Unpopular opinion - I love them but The members of the Circle are incredibly selfish and have fucked up the Companions, creating this secret tier system of werewolf and non-werewolf. I think this is a separate issue from the ones grappled with in game: the morality of being a werewolf and the ultimate destiny of werewolves. Athis and his fellows are being duped. Athis has this conversation with Torvar

Torvar: "One day, when you and I are on the Circle, we can change the way things are run around here." Athis: "I don't think that's how the Circle works." Torvar: "They're lording it over us all the time, though." Athis: "Young warriors are smart to listen to older ones. They've lived."

Imagine him learning that the Circle isn't for honoured older warriors who have embodied the Companions' greatest virtues. It's a club you can't enter without being a werewolf. I think there's potential for real anger from the rank and file.

To be honest, this drawing had me scratching my brain for a while. I did read the prompts, but my mind just wasn't coming up with anything ;~;. So, I decided to put a little twist on the Hide and Shriek one! The story I made up in my mind goes something like this:

I think we all know that our beloved Sun is the one that always falls victim to the evil monster. Not that he complains, but he was feeling particulary mischievous this day. After their usual shenanigans, Moon went looking for him, but couldn't find him anywhere. He searched trough the entire Pixaplex. He even (grumpily) came out of the Daycare to ask the other animatronics. But it was no use. Refusing to give up, he ended up doing something that was deliberately against the rules: he put on the harness to take one last look, now form a new perspective. The next couple minutes were more of the same. No matter how hard he tried, Sun was nowhere to be seen. Just tired and frustrated at this point, he accepted his defeat and called for Sun to come out. And as soon as he did, he felt something tuggin athis legs. AND NOT JUST TUGGING. Turns out Sun didn't stay in one place, but constantly moved around to avoid being caught. And when Moon went outside to ask the others, he took the chance and dived in the deepest part of the ballpit. And now, it was his turn to be punished for being a rulebreaker~

yesterday i managed to hatch a shiny horsea in my copy of emerald version!!!!!! this shiny is one that means a WHOLE LOT to me for so many reasons and i am absolutely gonna start up what will hopefully be a saga of posts related to him.

the gist of it is that this little one is, first and foremost, a nod to my beloved dnd oc, reides. secondly, he is gonna be my first earnest attempt at the ribbon master challenge!

the ribbon master challenge is a really fun - yet really difficult! - challenge which consists of trying to get as many marks/ribbons on one pokemon as possible (basically, from their origin generation to the current one). there are many resources related to this challenge, my favorite one being athis' ribbon handbook. you can see a lot of people talking about this challenge on the pokemon ribbons subreddit as well as in random places online (like this post right here LMAO). there are also quite a few videos about ribbon master challenge attempts on youtube, too; again, my personal favorite one is the story of toast the scizor.

anyway, i talked about potentially attempting the challenge back when i successfully manipulated gen4's rng for a shiny of my fav mythical pokemon, manaphy - which i also named reides, as i associate manaphy with him. i eventually strayed from that idea, however, because i really, really want my first ribbon master to have the gen3 ribbons; most importantly, the hoenn contest ones. (this is 100% just a personal thing - ribbon masters that are from gen4 onwards are obviously still incredibly awesome and i still wanna try the challenge out on my beloved manaphy at some point. i just have a lot of nostalgia associated with gen3's ribbons so i want my first attempt at the challenge to include the grind for them.) that being said, i didn't want to stray from the initial concept of putting it on a pokemon that i associate with reides, so…

that's where this horsea comes into the picture!

i've associated reides with the whole horsea line for a loooong time - longer than i've associated him with manaphy, tbh! i even have a post mentioning that i hatched eggs for a shiny one - also named reides - in ultra sun. i struggled a lot with if i wanted to evolve that horsea fully or not, ultimately deciding to keep him as a baby. but i always wanted to catch another one which i'd evolve fully. i mean... look at this thang.

shiny kingdra absolutely rules, and the royal theme that it has going on is, again, very much up reides' alley. it seemed like my procrastination re: actually hunting for that second shiny horsea actually paid off, in this case, because i realized it'd be sick if my ribbon master was a shiny kingdra. that way, my other shiny horsea can remain as a unique hunt, too.

beyond my shiny requirement, i wanted the horsea to be male, like reides, and for him to have a nature that suited reides' personality. since i already have a brave manaphy, i was torn between quirky or bold for him, but i ultimately decided on bold. so... a shiny, bold, male horsea was the goal. this isn't an impossible shiny hunt by any means, but... well... <3 let's just say i wasn't in the mood to phase on tons and tons of different shiny horseas that didn't meet my somewhat-specific criteria. frankly speaking, it would sour the entire experience for me. add emerald's wacky rng to the picture and it just... wasn't fun to even think about. so i figured that i'd take yet another page from my manaphy's book and that i'd rng manipulate for my ideal horsea. furthermore, i decided that i'd try to hatch my horsea in a cool spot - hence the 'seafloor cavern' met data. (sadly, since i'm transferring him up through the generations, this data will eventually get replaced with a blanket 'hoenn region' line - but i still wanted to do it!!!)

once i had a general Plan of Action, it was time to execute it. a few weeks ago, i made a post about learning how to rng manip in gen3. in that post, i showed you guys my shiny treecko, ivy, and vaguely mentioned in the tags that having the means of shiny hunting in emerald opened up a lot of ribbon master challenges... but i didn't mention my true goal of learning the inner workings of gen3; namely, reides. LMAO. by shiny hunting for that treecko, i was able to deduce my tid and sid combo, which would aid me in my future rng-based shiny hunts in that particular game file.

i then had to play through the entirety of emerald's plot. at first, i dreaded this, since i wanted to grab my horsea asap and get right into the challenge - but it was a TON of fun! i kept practicing different rng hunts and ended up getting four more rng-based shinies in addition to my shiny starter and reides. plus it was just plain nice to re-visit gen3's storyline after all these years. once i got the super rod in mossdeep city (since horsea is a super rod-specific encounter) and my seventh badge (since i needed to be able to use dive so that i could get to the seafloor cavern), i caught a male horsea and a female horsea, popped 'em in the daycare, and - through MUCH trial and error which could, in itself, end up as a huge post - managed to hatch this perfect little horsea.

given all of the setup that went into getting reides, i knew that i wanted him to be on my very first team that beat the hall of fame. it was only fair, considering that the team pretty much existed because of him! and, while this post is focused on reides, trust & believe that i still developed a TON of fondness for the rest of my lovely storyline team! i couldn't have possibly gotten reides his first ribbon without the help of ivy the sceptile, popsicle the cradily, metal the aggron, chimney the camerupt, and miku the flygon!

next on the emerald agenda is ev training reides. i am going to be training him alongside a latios named albatross, a beldum named origin, and a bagon whose name is currently pending as i try to think of something! i've never ev trained in a gen3 game before, so... fingers crossed that it goes well and that i can keep count of the encounters without fuckin up! ;LDFSGKD;FKG i'm ev training so that i can get the effort ribbon on reides but ALSO so that we are at full power for taking on emerald's battle tower afterwards. i'm SUPER nervous about doing this, as i have never attempted the battle tower before, but i'm hoping that it'll go okay!

in addition to aaaaall of this chaos going on in emerald version, i dusted off my good ol' wii and started a replay of an INCREDIBLEEEE game called pokemon colosseum, since i'll need to send reides over there eventually to get a ribbon for clearing 100 battles in a row over on mt battle. (luckily, i still have the necessary hardware from my childhood for doing that.) mt battle is going to be seeing a lot of me, as i'll also need to grind for pokecoupons there so that i can buy special berries which will help him in becoming a contest pro back over in hoenn. colosseum's plot also gave me the chance to soft-reset for a bold-natured suicune that will probably get ev trained too, and who will likely join reides in all of his future battle tower endeavors. i named that suicune after reides' in-universe god, 'persana.'

so... yeah! the setup for this challenge alone has been A Lot but i can honestly say that i've been having so much fun with it. i feel like i'm interacting with like... every single aspect of gen3 at the moment. it's totally revitalized my love for pokemon as a whole and i'm really hoping that i can stick to it and complete the challenge in its entirety!

I’m pretty proud with what I have so far and I just wanna show it to you guys!

Here’s the first row of my bookshelf! Though its more of a manhwa shelf tbh with how much manhwa-related stuff I have.

I enjoy putting all of my merch up on display so they all just chill in this area!

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun remains as my favourite romcom manga so that’s why it’s on the very top row with the rest of my manhwas.

All of my Genshin and Honkai related acrylic standees I bought them at Kinokuniya (they’re so pricey tho 🫠)! I mainly collect characters I love a lot or have been on my team before, except for Orchestra!Beidou cause come on, just look at her. How could I not buy her? Didn’t buy her wifey tho ;-;

Most of my WMMAP merch come from the manhwa’s limited edition sets from volume 4-7! I would love to collect vol1-3 as well but they were sold out and vol 8-9… it just isn’t worth it without all the merch.

I also have a nendoroid of White Blood Cell a bit hidden here. I like him. He’s cute!

There’s even a Loid figurine. Hello Loid!

And the four little standees of the featured manhwa dads from my very first manhwa event; the Isekai Zaddy event! They’re really cute! They’re all travel sized so you can easily take them wherever you want them to go with you.

The cute Athy and Claude standee are from the MOFUN x WMMAP collab btw! I bought them along with an Anastacius acrylic keychain which I love a lot too!

Oh and in case you’re curious with the picture of the WMMAP cast that I have framed: It came with volume 7 and it’s actually the picture that came with the puzzle set. It’s supposed to act as a reference when doing the puzzle but I had other plans.

I also like to decorate my frames a lot (I used to do a lot of journaling back in the day lol)

HC designs from when i read the novel

sorry for the lack of color in the dresses, i got lazy halfway. and yes i mispelled chokers my bad for that ;-;

So i mentioned in a reblog of a post by @lithi that i wanted to show my fanon designs of Athy and Jetty after seeing her talk about how people who only read the wmmap novel must have different interpretations of the characters designs. I must admit, i’m a little biased in that aspect because i read the manhwa first so at first when reading the novel (specifically fan translations bc this was before i found out about ridibooks) for the first time i always imagine Spoon’s designs when i read them. But now having a new perspective on this i decided i wanted to make a sketch based on how i imagined these two while reading the novel a second time.

For Athanasia, i think the most obvious has to be the fact that i imagine her with darker skin due to Sioddona being inspired by the Ottoman Empire visually from the manhwa. I know, a bit weird since this is about the novel but personally that’s how i always imagined what Siodonna looked like. Another thing i like to imagine and, this is a personal headcanon for me, is that she always likes to wear a necklace that reminds her of Diana, because she never knew her and wanted some semblance of her mother to be with her every step of the way. I always wanted to know more about Diana so think of this as part of that need lol. As for Athy’s outfits, i always imagine the dresses @alicehattera03 would post about that suit Athy to be her fashion sense in the novel. Don’t get me wrong i love the dresses Spoon puts her in, but at the same time i always imagine her in more regal clothes befitting of a crown princess, and Alice always has the best imagination whenever it’s Athy related so i mostly think of her posts whenever i think of Athy aha. Also, more on that note on chokers, i think it’s safe to say that Athy has every right feeling uncomfortable around those things due to the whole hanged thing from the original novel, so while she isn’t exactly the same Athy she’d probably still find chokers a bit triggering since they remind her of her doom.

For Jennette, the biggest difference for me is that i wanted her to look a bit intimidating to the eyes without the effects of her black magic. I think to illustrate the seeping black magic from her body, she uses things like chokers and longer dresses to cover the markings. It’s a bit gross describing it now but hey, LP!Jetty did a lot of questionable things so i suppose having some symbolism about her sins isn’t too far reaching. I don’t know why, but whenever i like to imagine ladies in historical dressing, i always seem to imagine the dresses Shuli von Neuschwanstein wears, probably because i think they’re the best designed dresses in manhwa yet but that’s personal. This applied to imagining Jetty too, so i used one of Shuli’s dresses as reference. Something i like to imagine is that Jetty also has a darker color palette compared to Athy to illustrate how completely opposite they are, so in the novel i always think of her having much darker hair than she has in the manhwa, plus longer hair for the fun of it (another thing inspired by my beloved Shuli lmao). I don’t think there was any mention of Jetty having bangs, but i gave them to her in this design since they’ve become what i associate with her.

Another thing, i’m not sure if this would be accurate but imagine them being much taller in the novel than they are in the manhwa 😅. I don’t know what is with me and my thing for tall female characters, but i think because there isn’t too much descriptors for height the last time i read, i think it’s safe to assume i could go wild with that aspect in terms of the novel designs i have. Instead of being around 150-160s in centimeters, i always thought of them being more around 170ish till about 180 roughly, and the reason for that is because i like to imagine the very dramatic and foreboding scenes they’re in to be accentuated with how tall they are lmao. Probably makes sense for Athy’s case since she’s princess and all.

That’s about it for how i imagine them in the novel, i’m sure others have their own interpretations and ideas of how they’d look in the novel but so far these are mine, thanks for reading ;p

The beastblood ran hot and hungry. It turned her stomach, sharpening the edge of her shame into thin, reckless claws. That first time, that other time, Azadeh’s grief had cried out like a wounded child for her to be still. To shut the door behind the night without end, to curl into a patch of nothingness, to stop speaking or breathing or growing for the hope it’d take her back to when she was small and guiltless. She’d chased the eye of the storm for all the years since then, that fragile, short-lived peace concocted from so many potions of calm.  This time, the potions sat untouched. All she craved instead was the sweet silence of the hunt.  She spoke quietly, careful not to wake Ria, who was sleeping in fits and starts against her shoulder. “I’m cursed, aren’t I?” “We all are.” Vilkas tipped his head back. And every vessel left so bereft needed a Captain. She squeezed Vilkas’ hand. “You mustn’t carry this on your own. The fault–” “Aye, I know whose sword it was that struck him down. It wasn’t yours, either, Azadeh.”  I wanted Aela to be safe. She wanted to say. I didn’t want her to be alone. Then the rest. The rest had been too easy.  But this was no time for justifications. Let them rot, bitter in her chest, tangled with the guilt she kept stowed away, growing like a living thing.  “I’d rather you blamed me than yourself, Shield-Brother. I’d take it readily. But I wasn’t going to suggest portioning blame at all. Not at this hour. There’s something you need to do so all of you can rest. When you know what it is, I’m at your back.”   She gently brushed Ria’s hair away from her forehead. Mein Herr Marquis from Die Fledermaus by Strauss - this is one of my absolute favourite songs to listen to but even more to sing! it is so fun!! the song is sung by adele, a maidservant who has gone in disguise to a ball, and is spotted by her employer, the titular Marquis. The song is her laughing at him, saying how could someone as beautiful as me be a maidservant? you're smitten with your maid, you see her everywhere, that's so funny Herr Marquis hahahaha. The laughing and the runs are so sosososos fun!

Hmmm probably Athena. I think that, out of all the greek figures, she is the one that resembles Athy the most.

There's the obvious Zeus-Claude comparison, so it's fitting for Athy to be similar to one of Zeus' daughters. Athena was a warrior goddess, but one associated to the more "disciplined, strategic" side of war, as opposed to Ares more brutal, "raw" representations. She was believed to only support those fighting for a just cause.

Athena is often linked to wisdom, the arts, and classical learning. It's also common to see her as a symbol of freedom and democracy (I know this is a minor detail, but it always stuck with me how Athy (definitely not Claude lol) granted Anastasius, Jennette and House Alpheus a fair trial, something she was denied of in her first life. I think this was a conscious decision on her part. So the "fair and just" association makes a lot of sense to me).

A wise and benevolent (mostly, she is a greek goddess after all) goddess who is also valiant and strong-willed, fights against those considered evil, and is universally beloved by the people?

My lucathy-pilled other answer is Persephone. The connection is maybe weaker, but I love the idea of Athy being a spring goddess, and she is also one of Zeus' daughters, so that part of the parallel remains the same. Obelia, land of eternal springs and summers, Athy dying in winter and Persephone returning to the underworld in winter, her "coming back" literally brings the return of life, cycles of immortality... Hmmm....

athy!!! thank you. this got long so i'm putting it under a read more.

mark and seb: i think mark thinks seb is unrealistically young when he’s knighted, and when he learns they’ll be in the same regimen, he hates it. he fought along seb once a few years back and seb was taking too big risks and took on more than he could chew, injuring mark’s horse and his own in the fight. but seb spent a few years under schumacher’s wings, so. maybe that helped. 

quickly it turns out that seb has matured, that he wields his sword masterfully now, that his eye for strategy has only sharpened. mark begins to respect him. anyway there’s some horrible rain where half the tents end up flooded and seb is sopping wet but still somehow laughing about it. mark tells him to get his sorry ass into his own tent and lends him some dry clothes and the spare bedspread. but seb is still shivering and mark can’t sleep because of his teeth clattering, so he drags seb closer and SPOONS HIM. except seb can’t stay still and soon mark is trying to shift away so his dick isn’t poking seb in the small of his back, but seb really, really doesn’t mind. anyway you remember that line that’s like, Sebastian would try to kiss him if they were alone, would risk Mick shoving his face away because for some, taking a man is different than kissing him. WELL! there’s a reason why seb knows that so well!!!! 

toto & mick: i think toto genuinely likes mick in every universe! hates that mick came back home all heartsick after toto’s rival. he tried introducing him to the fine dames of the court, but mick remained polite but uninterested. and tbh? toto WANTS him to prove that he can be rough and indifferent with sebastian. that’s what he was supposed to learn in the war, that emotions make you weak. i won’t say more because i still have hope that i’ll write ch3 for SoW and i don’t want to spoil it (lovely anon who also sent me an ask about it, this is also for you!). 

seb & maurizio: so the prince-electors and the system of electing the king is based on the Holy Roman Empire’s practice. i think seb and maurizio met while michael was king and maurizio was one of his commanders. i would also like to remind you that i wrote SoW in like, six? hours so i don’t have a lot of things fleshed out lolol. 

other knights: lewis is said to be toto’s right hand, the trusted one to defeat maurizio on the borders… nico and him were commanders at the same time, but there was too much tension that demoralized the regimens, so toto had them duel for it, and eventually nico “decided” to take a seat on the council instead. he resents both lewis and secretly also toto for this. also george and alex grew up together and are iN LOVE and the first time they do anything is in the chambers as mick fucks seb, because everyone around them is hooking up.

(for example: pigeon, cupcake, etc.) Something that you think would be what other characters would call her by, since you seem to know a lot about meanings and such.

Sweetheart(sweetie), beloved, honey...maybe something related to chocolate since she loves chocolate so much...ahhhHH I wish there was something cute for that...or little blue? For her mana? And then having people get surprised because oh, her mana is NOT little in the slightest ehehe.
