On this day, August 26
In 2022: My Chemical Romance performed their 26th show of the 2022-2023 Swarm tour in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. At this show, an unreleased song (titled "Everybody Hates the Eagles" on the paper setlist) was performed for the first time, and "Burn Bright" was performed live for the first time ever. Gerard Way wore a "New York Cockroach Actual Size" T-shirt, green camo print minishorts and a bloodied eyepatch. "FREE BUGS" was written on the drums. (🖤)
Watch the show here!

This evening cape, in pleated pink silk chiffon, lined with pink bengaline, is made with a yoke framed by a chiffon ruffle, adorned with a garland of daisies. The lower contour, cut into teeth, trimmed with ruches, is edged with a pleated chiffon flounce, extended along the front to the Medici collar covered with pleated chiffon and edged with ruches. The collar is closed under a silk chiffon bow.

By the time the Works Progress Administration ended in 1943, it had provided jobs for 8.5 million Americans during the worst of the Great Depression--and created thousands of buildings, works of art, and other projects. When it went into effect in 1933, New York ordered its (male) relief recipients to "go to work or go to jail."
Here, hundreds of applicants line up to register for WPA jobs on August 26, 1933 in one of the bureaus set up by the agency. The administrator of this location said he had no doubt that he would meet his quota of 20,000 new workers for the week.
