Domitian isn't the most interesting emperor; I don't think he deserves all the hate from historians since I think on an administrative level, he was pretty solid. Out of the Flavian emperors he is the most overlooked. Vespasian ended the civil war of 69 AD and was a well-liked Emperor, his older brother Titus was beloved by Roman citizens, he opened the colosseum, had to deal with the mess caused by Vesuvius and did some pretty unspeakable things in the Jewish war. And Domitian, well he's mostly remembered for being the ruthless paranoid younger brother who got killed to make way for the ✨5 good emperors✨ (Seriously, if Nerva gets to be grouped in with Trajan and Hadrian the entire Flavian dynasty should be added to make the 8 good emperors)

Mainly because he worshipped the goddess relentlessly, apparently having a shrine to her in his bedroom. Suetonius writes that just before he was assassinated, Minerva came to him in a dream telling him that she could no longer protect him.

Two denarius/ Cistophorus for #Augustus issued to be circulated in Asia minor between 27 BC-AD 14 , weight 11.98 g.  #Ephesus mint  Struck circa 25-20 BC. Bare head right / AVGVSTVS, capricorn right, head left, cornucopia on its back; all within laurel wreath. On other reverse a six grain ears bound together. These coins Deep cabinet toning, minor marks and die breaks. Good VF.

Obverse legend reads "HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS PP" Reverse legend reads "DIVUS PARENTIBVS" Hadrian is depicted here in this "youthful" style, an extremely rare and enigmatic portrait type that isn't easily explained. Theories range from it being a portrait-merging of Hadrian and his lover Antinous, a portrait-merging of Hadrian and the Trojan war hero Diomedes, or a commemorative issues struck by Hadrian's successor Antoninus.

Scripted: NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS, laureate head right / VESTA above, hexastyle temple of Vesta with domed roof, on podium of four steps; within, statue of Vesta seated left, holding patera in right hand and long scepter in left.

The Temple of Vesta was crucial to Rome’s prosperity and was among its oldest and most sacred temples. Its circular design reflected the domestic origins of Vesta’s worship as the goddess of the hearth. Although never officially consecrated, the temple housed an eternal fire, symbolizing Rome’s fate, and secret sacred objects, possibly including the Palladium from Troy and key state documents. The Vestal Virgins, whose purity was believed to protect the city, maintained the fire, and its extinguishing was seen as a dire omen. Despite this, the temple burned and was rebuilt multiple times, including after the great fire of AD 64, allegedly started by Nero.

While Augustus and Alecto have known each other forever Aly feels like she just recently really got to know him and she does like what she found.

The Carrow girl does consider Augustus to be one of the most intelligent people she knows and it’s one of the things she finds most interesting about him, something she’s always found interesting. 

Augustus return from America made Alecto’s wish to go somewhere completely different and start a new life all the more present. But while she doesn’t like to admit to it she feels like she can’t leave, not now with the war going on, maybe not ever. 

Back in their Hogwarts days Alecto found Augustus to be an annoying mixture between mysterious and alluring on the one side but awfully self- restricted on the other. She wonders what might have happened in America to have caused him to change that much.

Augustus/Edgar (because reasons)

Name: Adrian (’sea’) Doyle (’dark stranger’) Rookwood-Bones

Gender: Male

General Appearance: Despite the warm smile framed by perfect dimples and a smattering of freckles, Adrian always looks melancholic. He gazes into the distance, eyes of an indecipherable colour, perpetually glazed over and unfocused. Others flock to him, drawn to a warmth he doesn’t know he possesses. Like a lighthouse, Adrian stands tall, guiding others to shore, doomed to forever see the choppy waves and never the land.

Personality: Adrian has a natural affinity for solving problems. He’s clever and intuitive, every inch a Ravenclaw like Augustus, but there’s a softness within him. People like him, even though he’s quiet and occasionally accidentally rude, because they see just how real he is. He doesn’t often get emotionally invested in things, but when he does they consume him completely. His passion is either full-force or non-existent. Unlike both of his parents, Adrian doesn’t have particularly violent tendencies, probably because he often has to break-up arguments between them. However, he did take up boxing; preferring to get his anger out in a safer, more organised manner.

Special Talents: His mere presence is enough to calm people down. Adrian doesn’t really have a way with words, but he can say more with a look than he ever could while speaking.

Who they like better: Ever the pacifist, Adrian would never be able to choose.

Who they take after more: He has Edgar’s calming, quiet demeanour and Augustus’s sharp mind and keen eye, but beyond that Adrian is very much his own person. In some ways, they wish he was more like them; both worried that he lacks the ruthlessness necessary to protect himself

Personal Head canon: At Hogwarts, students would often come to him with their problems, looking for solutions. Adrian became almost famous for it and gained a lot of respect from his peers. If he was ever in a pickle, there was always someone who owed him a favour that could help him out.
