Augustus/Edgar (because reasons)

Name: Adrian (’sea’) Doyle (’dark stranger’) Rookwood-Bones

Gender: Male

General Appearance: Despite the warm smile framed by perfect dimples and a smattering of freckles, Adrian always looks melancholic. He gazes into the distance, eyes of an indecipherable colour, perpetually glazed over and unfocused. Others flock to him, drawn to a warmth he doesn’t know he possesses. Like a lighthouse, Adrian stands tall, guiding others to shore, doomed to forever see the choppy waves and never the land.

Personality: Adrian has a natural affinity for solving problems. He’s clever and intuitive, every inch a Ravenclaw like Augustus, but there’s a softness within him. People like him, even though he’s quiet and occasionally accidentally rude, because they see just how real he is. He doesn’t often get emotionally invested in things, but when he does they consume him completely. His passion is either full-force or non-existent. Unlike both of his parents, Adrian doesn’t have particularly violent tendencies, probably because he often has to break-up arguments between them. However, he did take up boxing; preferring to get his anger out in a safer, more organised manner.

Special Talents: His mere presence is enough to calm people down. Adrian doesn’t really have a way with words, but he can say more with a look than he ever could while speaking.

Who they like better: Ever the pacifist, Adrian would never be able to choose.

Who they take after more: He has Edgar’s calming, quiet demeanour and Augustus’s sharp mind and keen eye, but beyond that Adrian is very much his own person. In some ways, they wish he was more like them; both worried that he lacks the ruthlessness necessary to protect himself

Personal Head canon: At Hogwarts, students would often come to him with their problems, looking for solutions. Adrian became almost famous for it and gained a lot of respect from his peers. If he was ever in a pickle, there was always someone who owed him a favour that could help him out.

Least of them being the throngs of mutually beneficial acquaintances coming forth. Everyone could do one another a favor - or so they would have him believe. This did not interest Augustus in the slightest.

For he had but one goal.

And by the once-over permitted to the young woman - the rhythmic clicking of her stride not yet failing to her credit - Augustus could not see how she would get him any closer.

“So tell me, what can our connection do to serve us both?”.

She’s found that where men are concerned, it’s a question of finding the right approach.

Some want to be flattered or coerced, some respond better to overt sexual overtones right off the bat....and then some others, needed to be forced into immediate subjugation.

Those were her favourites, but only because it saved time.

This man is none of these types. He is straight down the line, say what you mean then wait on his edict. Good, at least she’d know soon enough if this would be go or no-go.

“Well,  the man intending to stand against you has a unblemished character and it’s been next to impossible for most to gather any dirt on him, Most......but not me. Interested enough to stop pacing yet?”.

🍐  :    how intelligent is my muse overall?  are they smarter than the average person,  or less than?  are they primarily self-taught,  or did they acquire most of their knowledge in school?  are they more street smart or book smart?  

Shallot overall..isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. He’s hot-headed, stubborn, and tends to act emotionally rather than rationally. He’ll throw himself into situations before thinking and will punch first and ask questions later. Most of his smarts are just survival based, instinct, or anything that has to be explained to him. He’s definitely not book-smart or social smart in some situations. Is he street smart? Ehh….kind of?

He’s pretty much self-taught or mentored by other fighters or more experienced allies. He’s in a new, unfamiliar modern alien world so a lot of terms and everyday things need to be explained to him like the fish out of water he is. 

Giblet is definitely the more intelligent of the twins, but that’s because he got te bigger portion of the 1 braincell shared between the two. Shallot’s all muscle and very few brains.

he has the same brisk temperament as a teller at auction; detail decided by straightedge and spreadsheet. she takes no mind, being well versed with its precepts and priorities. she merely chuckles and sees to her statement sketchbook as he stalks the space about them. “merely highlighting that even hangings in hallways have history.” she hums, making appropriate check and mark to all deeds done and still yet to do, unperturbed by the pointed tactile tinge to his inquisition. it is only a natural restlessness that imposes such a tangible reframing. curiosity quelled and countered - comforted even - by cool, calm touch. “i shouldn’t think so. it is not a requisite of research that i languish in the aftermath of my landscaping. after all, i will not be the one living here.”
