I was rewatching AVPM recently
And I realized suddenly, that my love for Voldemort x Quirrel was definitely a precursor to my Hannigram obsession.
Like.
The Evil Villain x Normal Guy (who's secretly also kinda evil) trope
They become fast friends
Evil one betrays the Normal one and lets them take the fall for crimes and go to jail
Evil one regrets the betrayal and misses them, not finding fulfillment in the evil activities anymore
Evil one is with a woman who supports him but the whole time he's thinking about the Normal one
Like am I talking about Season 1-2 Hannigram or am I talking about Voldemort and Quirrel from A Very Potter Musical?
(Bonus Points for them having a daughter together, although Quirrelmort does not kill theirs)

I love how Voldemort looks at him like "hey are you ok" because he doesn't really know Draco and he's not used to him doing this

Wait. A minute.
When you share a room with someone, you’re roommates.
Quirrel and Voldemort’s souls were combined while they were fused. They were sharing Quirrel’s soul.
They’re literal soulmates.

Never Too Late
Part of the message of AVPM, particularly expressed through the character of Voldy, is that it's never too late to change, or to do better, regardless of what everyone else around you (both those cheering your less-than-great behavior on and those wishing for your demise) may say.
Maybe it's the good-girl-eldest-daughter guilt complex, maybe it's the mental illness and frustration of constant roadblocks and endless struggle just to keep my life from falling completely apart, but the idea that it's never too late for a new leaf, never too late to re-discover or even just plain-old discover your joy, is really important to me.
I've collected a lot of the Starkid enamel pins. My favorite is the Voldemort one, which I keep pinned to the pocket of my favorite denim jacket (don't worry, I polled my irl friends and none of them recognized him as a Harry Potter character so I'm not out there repping JKR's brand). My very embarrassing fandom admission is that I sometimes reach down and hold onto him in times of great stress and anxiety. It makes me feel better. It makes me feel braver. It makes me feel hope.
And the fact that a parody musical version of one of villains I've always hated the most and considered the most vile and evil could do that is... wild.
But very impressive.
Happy fourteen, edited version of AVPM. Thanks for all the magic.

Tbh I am happy the cast of HSM is appearing in the show because anything that makes HSM references remain understandable by the youth is inherently making the Zefron poster joke in AVPM still funny to future viewers of Starkid.

Voldemort in Team Starkid’s A Very Potter Musical was the blueprint for the babygirlification of Barty Crouch jr and Evan Rosier and I will not be elaborating any further

AVPM Voldemort?
Okay. Look while he is absolutly the only Voldemort I respect I haven't fully watched AVPM in a while and made it from memory. It was still super fun. Great pick.

so in first year voldemort finally got to be DADA teacher sort of. did he help quirrell plan lessons? or was he super passive aggressive and jealous about it and constantly going on about how all of quirrell's lessons sucked and he could've done it much better?
