A British Columbia lawyer alleged to have submitted bogus case law “hallucinated” by an AI chatbot is now facing both an investigation from the Law Society of B.C. and potential financial consequences.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that lawyer Chong Ke allegedly used ChatGPT to prepare legal briefs in a family law case at B.C. Supreme Court.
In reviewing the submissions, lawyers for the opposing side discovered that some of the cases cited in the briefs did not, in fact, exist.
Those lawyers are now suing Ke for special costs in the case.

Personally I think we should all start doing more to psychologically torment the members of the Supreme Court. I’m thinking cryptic threatening messages written in lambs blood, burning effigies with their faces type stuff. I want them to stay awake at night afraid of the country they’re helping to destroy.
More ideas would be appreciated :)

the girlbossification of ruth bader ginsburg has to be one of the most just plain annoying aspects of white liberal feminism. like it's not as actively harmful as a lot of other shit obviously. but it is soooooo annoying. if I never see another notorious rbg tote bag as long as I live it will be too soon
#her opinions and amicus' in many cases were iconic! not denying that certainly. she is absolutely AMONG the better justices in us history#HOWEVER her record on policing/the carceral system is very bad! genuinely bad!#and she just would not hold the conservative justices accountable. her and kagan are way too placating#and then she refused to retire in 2009 when there was a sitting democratic president and a fucking DEMOCRATIC SUPER MAJORITY#saying basically that no one else could do the job as well as her which is insane because sotomayor and KBJ literally are better :/#its also unbelievably conceited and just incredibly fucking selfish to knowingly doom the country because you think youre hot shit#started ranting abt this at work bc literally any talk even adjacent to the supreme court will set me off abt all of us court history#and my coworker was like 'well i dont think its very fair that she had to have that much riding on her decision to retire'#it literally is fair because that is the fucking job that she signed up for. this has literally always been how it fucking works#its a lifetime appointment. you either die unexpectedly or retire strategically#she accepted a position in which the entire country would depend on her but its not fair for the entire country to depend on her???#bullshit#im not fucking buying it. she did this knowing roe would likely be struck down as a result#she should absolutely be held accountable for that lmfao. you can know that she had a hand in a lot of great decisions for this country#while also knowing that she did a fucked up and extremely selfish thing

re: the situation here, the supreme court is gonna be announcing their decision tomorrow on whether to declare the mining contract illegal/unconstitutional (actually its a bit more complicated bc they'll be repealing a specific law, but to keep it understandable lmao) which would then give justification for it to be voided. first quantum minerals will likely try to sue our government if that happens, but that'll be the next problem to deal with and people would rather know our representatives actually convey the population's will at the very least lmfao. but if the court doesn't give the decision people want to hear then shit will definitely kick off for at least a few days.
also the canadian embassy have refused to get involved at all or even give a statement, and won't respond to anyone, but it doesn't surprise me whose side the canadian government is on 🤡
this was the crowd outside the supreme court this afternoon though

I've been buying stuff to attend an extremely straight and Christian wedding and it's like. I had a black suit ready and got the ok but the groom accidentally ordered the wrong color suit (how do you accidentally order the wrong suit. Or not exchange it. I thought the bride had a color theme going on but now there's no theme ? Who knows.) so I had to get another outfit, and it's hard to find a suit in that color that fits me offline and I don't have enough time to do the back and forth from an online suit shop.
So I finally find a cheap enough jumpsuit that matches their theme or whatever and think whew. I'm all ready. but it doesn't end there!!! I gotta accessorize bc the outfit is plain. And I have to think of what to wear underneath to stay warm bc it's December in the Midwest, but something low enough that it won't show underneath. Sensible shoes, also bc it's December in the Midwest. Outfit doesn't have pockets???? Now I gotta figure out how I'm gonna hold all my stuff so I have to find a small bag. Istg women's fashion is just solutions to problems that they created 😭 and it just ends up being so expensive that I'm just like lol.

Which story do you like more, Scarlet Blaze's or Golden Wildfire's?
It's SB!
I mean, have you seen that ending?
Slap a kickass song on it, and you have a sentai ending where the hero "disappears" taking down the "evil bad guy" in an explosion! Forget SS, SB's ending is really the ending where Rhea goes down like the champ she is, to save the world.
(wait someone told me Rhea isn't the protagonist of that route?)
Much like CF, I like SB not because of what the playable protagonist cast does, but because I like the antagonists (and it's the only route where you can get rid of Clout!).
Granted, it's a Supreme Leader route, so that also helps : the cast isn't forced to swallow cobras to justify her uwu conquest since we're playing as her and her Court - in a way it's more bearable than the uwu sobfest AG gives us about "wah wah we're participating in this war we BaD" and the "we are invading Adrestia the people here must hate us :'( even if we are fighting to get rid of the people who are playing bowling with adrestian citizens used their heads as a ball :'("
It's also the route where, despite what Supreme Leader and her Court parrot, we see how the so-called "nefarious values" of the Kingdom like chivalry, self-sacrifice and loyalty/devotion are rooted in love, aka affection for people those so called knights have to protect (iirc that's what happens when House Dominic takes the fight!) - and it shows how far Adrestia has fallen (Adrestian Nobles would never do something like Baron Dominic did!), ditto with Rhea knowing "secret routes" in Enbarr's palace, unknown to the current Emperor and her long list of predecessors : a person who was there 1100 years ago knows more about the City than people currently living in it.
In a nutshell, much like Tru Piss, Supreme Bullshit is a route where, if you squint a bit, you can see things that are completely opposite to what your playable cast is telling you (remember Ferdie and the crested Kingdom nobles?), informing the player that the protagonists are, just like in Tru Piss, full of nonsense.
What is shown contradicts what is told!
But I confess I'm biased, because Supreme Bullshit at least gives some spotlight to Nabateans, especially Rhea, who doesn't reappear in the plot only to die - and what kind of spotlight ! She literally steals the show at the end, defeating the Mole People while Supreme Leader is watching the spectacle, eating popcorn and giving a high five to her pal Barney.
There's also the Shamir'n'Catherine scene - that obviously ceases to be interesting the moment when Shamir becomes a part of Supreme Leader's court - where, again, we can see another instance of a knight (even if Shamir would deny it! She is a tru merc, not a knight!) sacrificing themselves to save a loved one.
SB>>>GW.

I'm kind of pissed at how few people are even talking about the fact that race based affirmative action policies were struck down in the US only two days ago. I'm kind of pissed at how few people are even talking about the fact that SCOTUS is now arguing in favor of legacy admissions, which literally existed to limit the number of POC able to be admitted into colleges/universities per year. SCOTUS wants to pretend to make college admissions "not see color," while upholding white supremacist systems that will make it much easier to discriminate against POC and much easier to favor white people when admitting students.
They're basically trying to fully reinstate segregation at this point with their promotion of Jim Crow relics and I haven't seen a single white person fucking talking about it.

To be perfectly clear I don’t love the Barbie movie for any high minded reason, I don’t love it because it’s not problematic or whatever. I just like it because it’s a movie that made me feel good happy things and it ain’t that deep to me.
Also Barbie was giving me very aroace vibes and it’s so relaxing, it feels so good, to see a main character who genuinely does not care about or even get romance at all and is happy and fulfilled and complete anyways. And I love goofy ass musicals. It’s not perfect, but it is fun, and it makes me feel good, and it’s good to have fun sometimes.

the fact that i as a public library employee with absolutely zero professional political control have to take a mandatory state ethics training every two years telling me over and over again i cannot take money or gifts worth more than $50 bc that counts as a bribe regardless of stated intent but then scotus can take hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gifts from billionaires and that’s just fine i guess

the way white liberals talk about Ruth Bader Ginsburg as if she had some sort of unique ability to decide cases correctly and was like the only person standing in the way of the US and utter chaos is so funny to me bc like a) Sotomayor and Jackson have better judicial records than her ?? and b) if you trained an AI by making it watch 250 hours of John Oliver I think it would make the correct decision as often or more than she did
