Review: Anthropological Linguistics, Typology: Zariquiey and Valenzuela (eds.) (2022)
SUMMARY (xxv + 499 pp.) Here is a sampling of the ways in which a single conceptual domain, body parts (BPs), is lexically and grammatically handled by languages of a fairly coherent geographic region; nearly all the chapters are devoted to South American languages. Surveying various regions of that continent is necessarily a typological matter, and the chapters (most from a themed conference) are descriptive, referencing crosslinguistic studies with a minimum of specialized terminology. Maybe if I made something out of it on Canva, then I can finally get this song out of my head.

If there is a Linying or BP Valenzuela collab with Troye in the future, I might lose my mind. I don’t know No Rome. What have I been missing?

These parts just ...
Don't blame if you don't believe
While I hack away these parts of me
Close the door before you leave
I'm miles and miles from sympathy
'Cause I've got great expectations to live up to babe
So pack it up and move along
Don't get so much
I hate your guts
That's how it goes
Mess with me once

Fete De La Musique 2018
For this year’s Fete De La Musique, I only decided to attend one stage and that was the Acoustic. I just found the lineup suiting for the weather - when you just want to unplug from the noise of other stages and just enjoy OPM the best way.
When we arrived at the venue, the number of people (as I expected it) were huge. It was confusing where to pick up where the last line was so I approached one of the staff from A Space. She initially told us that they couldn’t accommodate walk-ins anymore since the venue was just small and like what I said the line was... oh wow. I felt hopeless until she instructed us to get a link from the staff inside the building where we could RSVP, so we did. In a span of 30 seconds, we were done getting our tickets. Row and I are confused if we should go straight to the venue or still line outside, until someone asked us if we are going upstairs already... so I guess it’s our lucky day. Or I’m really meant to watch this stage with her so the universe conspired in helping me achieve it.
When we arrived at the stage, just like the walk-in line, the people who were trying to get in were immeasurable. But I told myself  we went this far already and there was no going back. After almost an hour of pushing and pulling from a sea of people, we actually made it to have our own seats. I really think that it was our lucky day.
I was excited to see the set of Clara Benin, Keiko & Dane, BP Valenzuela and Reese Lansangan but since Reese was the last act, we weren’t able to wait. I didn’t fret though, because I enjoyed other artists that we witnessed, one of which was Leanne & Naara.
I didn’t take much photos and videos, since one of FDLM’s vision is for the people to be present while enjoying the music and I’m pretty sure that the other stages were awesome as well. Until next year, Fete De La Musique!
