Would be really cute if Y/N was, instead of a Selkie, a mer based off a seal. Though they would probably be on the menu :I Anyhoo, Arctic Ribbon Seals are gorgeous, have you seen them before?
Ohhh, a siren Y/N with the tail of an Acrtic Ribbon Seal would be gorgeous! I haven't seen them before! The colors and ribbons on the fur are lovely! Picturing Eclipse seeing them and immediately going "Mine!" is so augh augh augh
You're going to drown. A polar bear is sitting at the only breathing hole for a good mile or two, and you can't take one gulp of air without the threat of the beast biting your head off. Your lungs are burning.
In the distance, you spy a shadowy figure before the black and white markings solidify and a new panic burns through you, hotter than the suffocation. A large orca siren. You truly are meant to die today.
You stagger in a frazzled fear under the ice, debating on risking the polar bear for just a breath or giving the siren a free meal, but his approach is steady, sinister, yes, but lacking the savagery you'd expect from a siren on the prowl.
He reaches you, all teeth and wide eyes, but he tilts his head in a curious regard. You're not really sure what to do but gesture upwards to the breathing hole and form claws with your hands to signify the threat waiting above. Maybe the two predators will take each other out and you can steal a breath of fresh air. If he gets what you're trying to say, he doesn't seem all that scared, and in fact smirks before swimming into the breathing hole.
You blink, stunned, your lungs on fire with lack of air, and wait for blood or thrashing or something, but the siren's strong black and white tail flickers calmly beside you. Did the polar bear already move along? What is the siren doing?
Darken starts to dot the edges of your vision but before you can flail, a large hand reaches down, snags your wrist, and pulls you up into the narrow breathing hole just inches away from his sinister jaws curved up at the ends. You gasp. You're alive!
You're also entirely cornered by the siren, both of your hot breath mixing into deep smoke as he takes up the already precious space and forces you back against the rim of ice until it bumps against your head. He tightly holds your wrist.
You try to spew a swift thank him and dive back down but he's not letting you go. This close, you can only stare into his glowing eyes before he lifts his hand, water dripping down his dark arm. He tenderly pushes a stray strand of hair from your face and tucks it behind your ear, claws trailing the shell of your ear that elicit a shiver down your body.
He tells you he thought you needed protecting when he first saw you, and he was right. You still do. He'll be the one to do it, and you'll be good, won't you, ribbons?
You can't help but think you don't have a say in the matter with his eyes devouring you from head to tailfin.

Honestly whenever Dusknoir is finally able to get past his guilt regarding hurting Ribbons and Aimilios… sparring time would actually be a tense, yet very enjoyable activity they partake in.
—————
It’s a nice, exhilarating downtime for the Lucario, Sylveon, and Dusknoir. Their main sparring area is the beachfront near the Krabby at sunset.
-With Aimilios, Dusknoir tends to underestimate the Lucario because of how soft spoken and fearful he once used to be. (And in general trying to coax him into actually fighting bc he holds back a large amount.) (it reminds the Aura Pokémon too much of when they were once enemies— so it takes a lot of reassurance that it’s okay from Dusknoir.)
…So imagine the wraith’s surprise when Aimilios lands the meanest Focus Punch directly to his chest. (AIMILIOS APOLOGIZES SO MANY TIMES) (DUSKNOIR IS BEWILDERED BUT ALSO VERY PROUD.) Bellowing out a large laugh from his stomach—encouraging the aura pup to do it again.
-He mainly trains Aimilios with Elemental Punch moves (Lucario/Dusknoir share that entire moveset with one another, go figure.) Dusknoir interchangeably switching out his Ice Punch for Shadow Punch, while Aimilios does the same with Fire and Thunder Punch’s.
-Ribbons and Dusknoir one-on-one sparring… would be less training and more throwing back and forth witty one liners and remarks. She mainly slacks off with her training bc she’s already “too experienced” in her own words. (To which Dusknoir absolutely humbles her whenever they have their one-on-ones. Probably in the form of making her trip and face plant onto the sand with Shadow Sneak.) (She gets very pissy towards this and does the trick to get the Sylveon riled up enough to actually train.)
-Dusknoir always knows when to limit his strength, but also when to not hold back towards the two. (In this case, whenever they do an old-fashioned, 2 on 1.)(Dusknoir lets loose majority of the duration of those fights without trying to go too overboard.)
Meanwhile— Ribbons and Aimilios are working together to actually knock down the gargantuan ghost-type via team-attacks. (Ribbons using her feelers to swing Aimilios faster and make his punches deal more damage.)(Aimilios going for more Ariel attacks while Ribbons goes on the low to try and disorient the revenant.)
-During these sparring sessions they tend to draw in a small crowd of passersby’s in Treasure town. Usually cheering on the two, young Heroes-of-Time. (While they outwardly heckle and boo Dusknoir. He remains stoical as ever towards the coward cheering for his downfall. But he does get slightly miffed by it.)
(Majority of the times these battles usually end in the two smaller Pokémon losing or calling it a draw. They’re slightly disheartened by this despite the ghost-type’s reassurances that they’ve done well and are getting better. And eventually, the one time Ribbons and Aimilios manage to knock him down—They get EXTREMELY happy and celebrate over it.) (Meanwhile the big ghost-lug is clutching his head, smiling fondly at those two accomplishing such a feat.)
-(All of this is a good bonding time for the three, aswell as Dusknoir’s way of making sure those two are absolutely prepared for anything to make sure they don’t get maimed/hurt on Outlaw requests.)

Y'know I had thought... You and Ange have talked about Grian's avian instincts in hhau.... what about Scar? Does Scar have Vex instincts that cause him trouble?
-🎀
see now that we've unlocked the Vex Arc Lore I can really get into this hehehe
So I think I've mentioned before, but Scar didn't grow up alongside vexes (other than Cub), so he's very new to all these instincts, but they are something he sort of has to lean on in order to survive sometimes. Even if they're new and scary and often uncharacteristically violent for him.
For starters, though, he can be overwhelmingly protective, almost possessive, and especially after the events with Juni. Scar doesn't trust a soul after that. Low growls and spectral wings flaring out angrily. Claws at the ready.
And then there's the biting... lol
snippet from an rp a few weeks ago:
(If someone had tried to tell him he’d be this into biting a year ago, he’d have thought they were crazy. And yet now it has such a sway on him, making him reconsider how capable he is of continuing this little ruse.)
It's not necessarily a violent thing. It's more about claim, about showing affection with his teeth. Visible mementos. Bragging to the world about their bond.
(It was their thing long before Scar knew it was a vex thing. Predator and prey. Trust and vulnerability.)
I'd say the longer Scar stays at the Vex Commune, he also grows more emotional in a sense. Vexes channel their emotions for power, and now he's around many vex who do this on the regular. For instance, Nico's is effortless, constant, casual. Kane's is loud, rash, sudden. Scar is being influenced by those of his kind now, for better or for worse.
It's actually Nadia, who we've briefly mentioned, who wants Scar to stay true to himself before all else. To continue drawing power from love and virtue, lest he lose what makes him who he is.
...
...also Scar purrs sometimes. Because it's cute to make vexes be a little cat-like, as a treat. <3
