is it possible for them to save the others even when theyve already turned into entities?

and how did they all end up on different floors? when they died did they get their own floors made for them? did they all die together or separately?

well some entities are conscious enough to at least not kill the others. Sun and moon are the least conscious (mid conscious at times/not conscious at all), then there's earth (mid conscious) who is harmless so if you end up in her floor you don't even need her since you're already safe. Then there's lunar who is also harmless and will actually help you (conscious/mid conscious) then there's eclipse who's the more conscious out of all of them and could help the others.

That's just the backrooms logic (there's no logic). When you die you just pop up in a random level as an entity or as yourself in the level 0 (or in the level you cheated) but unfortunately, they didn't have this chance. Backrooms also have an infinite number of level, so it just creates new ones for new entities endlessly

They all died separately. Why ? Because angst.

Whumptober Day 3: Set Up For Failure (Romance The Backrooms)

Look, in case you couldn’t figure it out from June Of Doom & Whumptember, I like whump.  So I’ll be participating in @whumptober when I have the time/energy to.  I may use all of the day’s prompts, or I may use some of them.  We’ll see what happens.

Like usual, I will be doing these for the characters of my story Romance The Backrooms, a liminal space otome with 5 main love interests.  This is an original work, not fanfiction.

“Glarence, hold on!” Adiel exclaimed as they approached the exit of the amusement park.  “What if there’s another exit to the frontrooms here?  We can’t leave yet!”

“The only exit was the one attached to the weight game—and you blew it,” Glarence growled, turning to face Adiel with a glare.  “Come on, let’s get out of here and try to find a way to another level.”

“At least tell me who that entity was, who was at the game,” Adiel insisted.  “Clearly, they were someone important to you.”

“That’s none of your business,” Glarence snapped.

“Oh, you should tell him, Glarence,” a voice interrupted from behind them.  “Go on.  Why don’t you tell your story?”

Glarence & Adiel turned around to see that the creature was behind them.  Its screen was shattered, bit it was still alive.

“I warned you, Glarence,” the creature said, the moon on its cracked screen moving and revealing its sun.  “You can’t kill a memory.  In your mind, I will never die.”

“Shut up,” Glarence growled, clenching his fists.

“I know you better than you know yourself,” the creature continued with a victorious laugh.  “I always have, and I always will.  You’re stubborn, and you’ll try to forget me.  But no matter what you do, I’ll always be there.”

“I said SHUT UP, Deimos!” Glarence shouted.

Adiel could see Glarence shaking a little.  He remembered Glarence’s fearful look earlier, and realized he’d never seen the other entity so scared before.  He took a deep breath, and went next to Glarence.  “If you want to hurt him, you’ll have to face both of us!” he exclaimed.

“Adiel, what the hell are you doing?” Glarence hissed.

“Standing with you,” Adiel replied.  He gave the other entity a reassuring smile and took his hand.  Then, he turned back to Deimos.  “Bring it on!” he exclaimed.

Deimos laughed.  “If you insist.”

It charged at the two, claws out.  Glarence jumped back, and Adiel stepped to the side, causing it to miss both of them.  Deimos stumbled, and Adiel used that opportunity to push him.  That caused Deimos to fall to the ground, where Glarence put one foot on his head.

“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t kill you right now,” Glarence growled.

“You can’t kill me, remember?” Deimos replied with a laugh.  “That’s a losing game.  You’re set up to fail, Glarence.  You can’t forget me even though you want to, yet you can’t live without me.  Isn’t that pathetic?”

Glarence gritted his teeth, his face filling with anger.  Then, with a loud cry, he stomped on Deimos’s head, shattering the screen to pieces.  He then kicked it repeatedly, until the light was completely gone.

Glarence took a few deep breaths, watching to see if the creature would try to stand up again.  But it was still.

Glarence let out a sigh of relief.  Then, he turned to Adiel.  “Thanks,” he muttered.  “You didn’t have to help me like that. . .”

“Hey, as long as we’re travelling together, I’m here for you, ok?” Adiel said, giving him a smile.  “No matter what.”

For the first time since he’d met him, Glarence smiled.  “Thank you,” he said.  “Now, come on.  Let’s find a way to another level.”

And so, the two walked together, in search of an exit.

Hi hewwo hi you've activated the OC infodumping session!

Theres quite a few of them so I'll just throw the big deal ones at you as an introduction!

I will give a quick content warning for body horror and blood for some of the images. those are at the end when im showing off my favourite oc

First up are the main group from my original OC world, the very originals for my cast of many morons who run around in my head rent free 24/7 365

Aurora, Avry, Jessi, Lusikka, Amaris, and Wrath

Aurora was the first oc out of all of them! She started out as my fursona back when i was starting to be online regularly, now though im well past that since Arty borty here has well since become her own character rather than just me but furry

Aurora is a Fennec Lyotternx, otherwise known as a furred folk Chimera in the oc's world. It simply means both her parents were a mix of some form so she's roughly 1/3 fennec fox, 1/3 lynx and 1/3 otter. She come form a long line of furred folk who protect a large forested area outside of a small town called Cedar Creek. She's also a magic user! She uses Phytomancy - plant magic. Though she's not great at it.

Avry Rayne is in fact my daughter i love her so so so much she's great! one of The Big Three ocs who are constantly on my mind at any given moment (you'll see the other two soon). if I were to actually take the time to write anything out for this group of ocs she's probably the closest to a main character. In a setting full of furries, mythical creatures, modern day magic etc etc She got the short end of the stick. literally nothing magic or supernatural wise. She's just you're regular ol average person trying to survive fighting a literal demon of shadow taking over the world for her own amusement. She's got mommy issues and is head over heels for her best friend, Jessi.

Jessi is the resident shapeshifter which Ive done some worldbuilding on and posted about awhile back here and probably the most level headed of the three. She certainly has her head on straight more or less. She's strongly tied to dragons which are a critically endangered species in this world. Jess is part shapeshifter and part werecreature- specifically a weredragon. Due to the fact she can't control it, her shapechange on the fullmoon resembles more the wolfman style of werewolves than just a straight change to the animal itself. The fact she can't control it is one of her biggest fears and around the time of a full moon she'll run off deep into the forest to get as far away from humanity as possible, hoping to lessen the chance of the weredragon hunting anyone she cares about.

Amaris is the shadow demon who is causing problems on purpose for fun. She revels in chaos and wants to see the world turn to absolute madness. in this world she is the source of all your sleep paralysis demon stories. She's actually an entity from another dimension who was cast out for an attempted hostile takeover of her home realm. She has complete control over shadows, to the extent that she has her own sort of backrooms esque shadow passages she uses to get around quickly. So long as she can fit through a shadow she can essentially teleport through it. Its not that hard for her to fit through things though. the small stature of 4'9" helps a bit.

Wrath meanwhile is whats known as an Incarnate. Incarnates are the physical manifestation of concepts and ideas. So like how we imagine Death as a skeleton in black robes with a scythe would be considered an incarnate in this world. There's only one of Each emotion and as we can guess, Wrath is anger incarnate. She's found herself working with Amaris to help spread chaos and destruction around the world after the shadow demon broke her free of her confinement by the Emotion Manifestation Obtainment organization (E.M.O for short) Wrath is a living weapon essentially and can't die so long as something out there can experience anger. Her limbs can shapeshift into any melee weapon and she gets stronger the more things around her experience her emotion. This can backfire though and she can get overloaded with anger and quite literally explode, having to reform her physical body at a later point.

Lusikka is a petty thief who has a lot of issues. She's an orphan who took to shoplifting for attention and well turned out she got really good at it. She's the leader of a group known as the silverware trio and uses a giant spoon to fight with, as silly as that sounds. She and the other two (Forcella and Kiridashi) started as a team of supervillians in their own world where they had a rogues gallery of food themed heroes who kept trying to foil their plans. This is where Lusi's dislike for tacos comes from. Now its just because she can't handle spice at all. She gets better and ends up with a wife and kids and she loves them so very much.

She still can't stand Avry being obnoxious though. something something shortest temper imaginable.

moving on from that setting,

BLAIR! Blair Daniels-Anderson my beloved! Another one of The Big Three who are ever present. She's my far cry 5 player character and she has like the most stereotypically country song background story imaginable. its fitting for her and her terminal yeehaw brainworms.

Anyways, Blair's first wife divorces her, takes the house and the car and here she is planning to move back home to Calgary to pick up the pieces and then she gets stuck dealing with a religious cult and stuck in hope county Montana where she continues to have a bad time alongside @rainydaze-rhys 's OC Rook. (Rhys if you're reading this hi hewwo hi bestie!)

Meet Colby! I love her, she has many much issues and is named after 3 different cheeses!

yes THIS is the one that has my brain in a chokehold. she is the one who's CONSTANTLY being rotated in the brain like a rotisserie chicken.

Colby grew up on Saturn's moon Titan dreaming of being able to see the universe. She joins the MIRA crewmate system and works on the Skeld ship as the ship's cook. They end up infected with a symbiotic alien parasite that shows up as all kinds of body horror on them. They're inspired by The Thing from the movie... well... The THING.

so like Colby gets their want to explore the universe but it comes at the cost of being permanently infested with an alien parasite that can and will do anything to make sure it and its host survive, which includes eating people. of course the crew has a medical scanner for respawning purposes so they're fine. but there sure do be a LOT of murdering from everyone on this ship.

She also ends up dating the ships medical AI who is an evil scientist and i love her very much also. incredibly normal about both Colby and their GF, Micah, who belongs to Rainydaze-Rhys.

So you mentioned they each become an entity and from what I remember about backrooms is liminal spaces? What kind of entity would each one be/what kind of floor would they have? I already crave all the info on this AU, especially the implications.

so as I said, each levels is based on their personality/trauma, and also have a certain level of danger

Moon's level (Level 2190) is a quiet space but also a dark one, the light are off and it's complicated to see. There's an interrupter but you also can use a flashlight. If you turn the light on with the interrupter, the level of danger will be 94%. The lights hurt him and he'll just kill you to immediately turn them off, but if you use the flashlight the level of danger will be only 30% unless you flash moon, it will increase of 94% as if you turned the lights on. When you use the flashlight, you'll be able to see that the room is an abandoned laboratory full of crying corpses. Red texts can appear at any moment (they're harmless) showing moon's thought before dying. The level is based on guilt.

Sun's level (Level 2901) is a bloody room full of children's organs. You'll see the entity cleaning the mess endlessly. If you dirty the room like stepping on the blood and spread it every where, or anything else you could do to make a mess here, he'll just straight up kill you. Then he'll clean the mess he did. You'll hear faint crying noises in the back as long as you stay here. The level of danger is of 70%. The level is based on lack of control of yourself

Earth's level (level 2969) looks like the hello kitty's level. It's a little whit and pink apartment. in the bedroom, there's a diary where you can vent, after you wrote on it, an answer from her will appear on the diary to help you. After that, she'll appear behind you and you'll automatically feel safe. If you want to leave the level you'll have to play with her, however if you don't play with her at all, the more she'll feel sad, the more you'll feel pain in your body until it kills you. The level of danger is of 0.1%. The level is based on loneliness.

Eclipse's Level (Level 5000) is a distorted level. The second you'll enter it, your body can start glitching at random moment (like ragatha glitched in TADC). It won't be painful at the beginning, but the more you'll stay, the more it'll be painful until it kills you. Eclipse is trapped in a computer and he'll try to get out of here. Unlike the others, he can go to others levels that also have computers. He's the more conscious out of all the others and keep going crazier and crazier. You can consider him more as a virus entity. he can twist other levels where he can go. This level is supposed to be his "main" level where you can find the computer he comes from. If you try to destroy this computer, you'll die because it will be considered as cheating so the rules will apply to you. The level of danger is of 45%. The level is based on existential crisis.

And lastly, Lunar's level (level 2309) is the safest of all. The level is space themed and is just a place where you can rest. Lunar will try to help you by giving you a lot of almond water and help you with your emotional stability (stress, fear etc), the level of danger is of 0%. The level is based on rest.

They're pretty much always around in some form, even if it's not directly or loud enough, or they seem like they're off paying attention elsewhere, but you've also mentioned DMT? Have any of ya gods interacted with you through a trip?

Yes, yes they do. I use acid to help with rituals. I work with loki. Also in the dmt world things are alot different. When you break through 360 degrees around you you will be in a different place. I have met entities there that don't fall under any pantheon. I also feel the need to connect to my roots and meditate before doing dmt to increase likelihood of spiritual experience. I often on acid feel loki calling me to come outside and he makes me feel joyous and not alone as I go into nature and il strip and skinny dip under the moon and not just worship loki but worship the water and the sky and the beauty and that moment in time. Il float and meditate staring at the stars. Also onetime I was very depressed to the point I had pretty much made up my mind to end my life I iust needed my partner to leave the house. I did some dmt while I waited which Is unusual for me because I know how taking psychedelics when in a bad place can become psychotic hell but I was dying soon. Do your worst I thought. And I think this was lokis coercion because the trip I had it felt like beams of love and light where being blasted into my heart. I'm adopted and even my adopted family suck and loki to me I'd patron of lost souls and people the world forgot. I think he was trying to show me that he loves me. I felt validated and soothed. I felt the presence of a fatherly figure too. I think the allfather. Odin. Usually it's just loki and me on our little trips doing rituals and connecting to the earth but I have a great respect for odin as I do all the gods. But hearth and home fire love and mischief is where my heart is. He helps me in the dmt world and his energy is brotherly. So I know he took me to odin. Because of the unconditional love I felt I stayed. I knew how loved I was by the gods and the earth and the people making me sad could blow me. Before I felt alone but that was a great loving reminder I'm not. If you use psychedelics to much they might start to ignore you. Loki will not show up in my trips If I take somthing stupid like 7 300ug tabs because I'm not doing anything spiritual im just being a junkie and he trys to help me not be an addict and to sooth me through the life of an addict so he doesn't like me doing dumb stuff like that in the name of spirituality because there is nothing spiritual I'm just being a wreckhead. So I say use them as the tools for magic they are. Dmt is basically real life backrooms since people share encounters and places it takes you. It can also take you back to trauma which can be hard but the point is to see it a different way but it can still he hard learning these lessons. This is a very complicated question. Yes you will connect with the gods if you use it as a tool for ritual and spirituality. If you act like a junkie you will just have them ignore you or even admonish you alittle to say stop saying your doing this in my name.

So, what is the nightmare realm? How does it work? Essentially, it's a backrooms-adjacent dimension (I came up with it long before the whole backrooms craze so. Idk) made up of distorted fragments of locations from various realities!When a tragedy/major act of violence happens, it has a chance to create an invisible rift in reality, and a clone of the location in which it happened is created in the nightmare realm.This rift usually closes after the tragic event is over, BUT will re-open at midnight every night. If an individual enters the location at midnight, and doesn't leave before a certain time (it can range from 12:01 to 1:00 AM! Depends on the severity of the rift!)These rifts cannot be seen! These invisible dimensional gates trap many urban explorers and other unlucky people. But those aren't the only people who can get trapped in the nightmare realm! People directly involved in the event that created the rift will sometimes be transported there immediately.There are a few types of people that can end up trapped at the time of disaster.Victims: Victims of the event, if they die, have the highest chance of being transferred. They usually end up taking the form of a ghost, monster, or other supernatural entity with features symbolic of the way they died! For example, if someone burned to death, they may appear as a humanoid made entirely of flames.Perpetrators: This is less common, but still happens. Murderers in particular have a chance of becoming a monster trapped in the nightmare realm. Of course, this means they mysteriously disappear in the world they're from. (Most of the time*)Bystanders: This is sorta rare, but sometimes people who simply witness an event, will end up being transferred upon rift creation. They almost always remain human upon transfer,but of course, like anyone, can be changed over time. *Now, on rare occasions, instead of a person being transferred, they can simply be cloned. The environment itself acts like a procedurally-generated video game world, using various chunks of the environments it's collected over time to make an infinite maze of underground hallways. Lots of bad things happen in buildings, it seems.But there is an outside! The surface is inexplicably almost entirely covered in forest, with strangely flat terrain. The occasional building can be found, which almost always leads you back into the hallways. Paths and roads are surprisingly uncommon. Many things lurk in the woods.There is no moon. There is no stars. It is always night. The sky is always pitch black. Sometimes it snows. Sometimes it rains. Sometimes there's thunderstorms. You can always hear the rain no matter how far underground you are. Nobody knows how or why.This realm does not follow the rules of reality, but usually seems to try and hide it.
