A hilarious comedy thriller drama that unfortunately gets bogged down with unnecessary romance and bad editing. It definitely could have been a 10 episode series and it would’ve been a knock out series. Seo in Guk is phenomenal in this. He had just the right over the top humor and darkness to his character, while I absolutely love Oh Yeon Seo, the writing for her character was awful and didn’t fit right. For the romance I more so rooted for the secondary couple more. I guess I was hoping for more of a best buddy relationship for the main couple. Overall still would recommend to watch once if you love mystery comedies.

i must not let the ending of ep 14 insinuating the possible death of Woo Hyul disturb me. fear is the mind-killer. fear is the little-death that brings total anxiety and overanalyzing. i will face this ending. i will permit the wicked deeds of Hae Won and Do Sik and the scheming of Man Hwi and the absolute inability of Mr. Ko to offer up information when it really matters to pass over me and through me. and when ep 15 drops i will turn the inner eye to see its predecessor's path. where the cliffhanger has passed there will be nothing. only the kkongdak couple will remain.

Café Minamdang

This is a crime story that has a balance of suspense, action, comedy and romance. I loved the series. A team of an ex-profiler, ex-police and ex-NIS staff and a young inventor work in their café / Shaman house to hide their investigation operation where they want to find out who killed Prosecutor Han Jae Jeong. Things get complicated when Han Jae Hui and get team in the police start working on cases connected to Nam Han Joon's clients.

If you like crime stories with a good balance, you will like this one. It was series in the moments it needed to be and the situations and the way Nam Han Joon hides his talents under role of Shaman, makes you laugh, lighting the series.

Cafe Minamdang birçokları gibi webtoon uyarlaması. Jeong Jae Han isimli çizerin kaleminden çıkan “Minamdang: Case Note” isimli yapımdan esinlenilmiş. Webtoon’u okumadığım için birebir mi çevirdiler emin değilim. Seo In-Guk önderliğinde bir yapım olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Dizinin izlenmesinde oyuncunun rolü büyük. “Doom at Your Service” izleyenlerin bence tamamı diziye onun için başlamış olabilir.

Dizinin genel yapısı ve konusu nedeni ile iyi ya da kötü eleştirilecek bir yanı yoktu. Kötü yanları eleştirilecek kadar kötü değildi. Güzel yanları da tekrar tekrar dile getirilecek kadar muhteşemdi diyemem. Konu ilginç, oyunculuklar güzel, hikaye akıyor. Yer yer absürtlükler mevcut. Zaman zaman güldürüyor. Diziye ciddiyet hakim değildi.

Atılan bir iftira sonrasında hapse giren profil uzamı polis Nam Han-Jun (Seo In-Guk) hapisten çıktığında “Cafe Minamdang” izimli bir yer açar ve şamanlık yapmaya başlar. Mesleğinin vermiş olduğu gözlem ve tanı koyma becerisini, teknoloji ile birleştirerek müşterilerine şaman olduğuna ikna eder. Dizi onun kafedeki müşterilerinin hikayeleri etrafında dönmektedir. Aynı zamanda arka planda isminin bir cinayete karışması sonucu yine kendini polisle iş birliği yaparken bulur. Örümcek içgüdüleri ve müşterilerinin arka plan hikayelerini öğrenerek eski mesleğinin yardımı ile şamanlık yapıyormuş gibi görünen Han-Jun, polis şefi Han Jae-Hui (Oh Yeon-Seo) ‘un radarına girer. Jae-Hui hem onun dolandırıcı olduğundan şüphelenirken hem de elindeki cinayet davasını çözmeye çalışır.

Nam Han-Jun  ise kafenin üst katını kameralar, mikrofonlar ile döşeyip müşterilerin akıllar ile oynayarak daha inanılır bir ortam yaratır. Komik bir şekilde ünlendiği için ona danışmaya gelen insanlar kapıda sıra oluşturmaya randevu alabilmek için torpil bulmaya çalışmaktadır. Kız kardeşi Nam Hye-Jun(Kang Mi-Na) ise kafenin teknikeri aynı zamanda hackerdır. Kafenin 3. Ortağı ise Han-Jun’un eski arkadaşı Kong Su-Cheol(Kwak Si-Yang) aynı zamanda ekibin kas gücüdür.

Genel olarak diziyi 9 puan verecek kadar beğendim. Ama nedendir bilmem üzerine çok konuşulacak bir yanı olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Her bölüm bir olay çözerken arka planda da kendi hikayelerinin minik minik ilerlediği çok klasik bir örgüsü vardı. Seo In-Guk’u şaman olarak izlemek çok eğlenceliydi. Bir de dizide öyle ağır bir romantizm, aşk hikayesi yoktu. Bir tık olsaydı daha güzel olabilirdi gibi gelse de olmaması çok rahatsız etmedi.

Weak Hero Character Names

For those who don't know, the Weak Hero webtoon anglicized a bunch of the characters' first names from Korean to English. They don't do this for newly introduced characters anymore AFAIK, but all the names they anglicized initially have been kept that way.

Since I've gotten a few people asking about the names, so I decided to compile a list of their original Korean names. You can find amost of these on their character profiles on the Weak Hero fandom page, but I figured people would appreciate having a quick reference that is all in one place. Hopefully this helps people learn/connect their original names.

Remember, this is not a full character list, it's for finding the Korean names of the characters that had their names anglicized.

Miss Night and Day

After becoming a potential witness to a murder, a girl who changes to an old woman during the day must catch the murderer while also keeping her secret.

Lee Min-Jin has spent most of her 20s studying to become a public servant. After a night of drinking, she discovers that she turns into an old woman during the day and back into her younger self after the sun sets. During the day she works as an office assistant to  Gye Ji-Ung, a prosecutor who is determined to find out what happened to his mother.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like Miss Night and Day. A first it seemed like a strange concept and I wasn't sure how well they would do keeping it straight. But after just a few episodes I was hooked. I was waiting, rather impatiently, for the next episodes.

I loved the chemistry between Lee Min-JIn, played by Jung Eun-Ji, and Choi Jin-Hyuk as Gye Ji-Ung. I just kept waiting for them to finally say something to each other and when they did, it was perfect.

Lee Jung-Eun as Lim Sun, or Lee MIn-Jin's older self was also amazing. She did a fantastic job playing a young girl trapped in an older woman's body. She was funny and really stole the show.

I've seen a lot of shows recently where the show is so amazing until the last episode and the ending falls short. This is not one of those shows. I loved the ending and it was the perfect way to end all of their stories.

Aside from the romance, the story of the disappearances and the murder was also great. It kept you on your toes and when you finally piece it all together it's exciting. I do wish more was done with the character of Ko Won, played by Baek Seo-Hoo. He deserved more.

Miss Night and Day is on @netflix and I highly recommend watching it.
