. YOU CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS BUT YOU CAN BUY A PLANE TICKET (OR TWO) - AND THAT'S KIND OF THE SAME THING...OOH BALI! It was an awesome experience, it was... But because I had company this time (this retreat was not one to go solo to - better in company) I realised I was more engaged in conversation and being in the moment, enjoying the front of plane service, and the whole trip then became an off-grid, non insta/non social media REAL joy. To go off-grid and maintain total radio silence was my companions suggestion. She's no shrinking violet - she has a huge huge following on Insta and social media and is a well known influencer. But her suggestion, though very surprising, was also, I thought, a brilliant move. More of a risk for her than me. So we did it. Switched off totally. That also helped us focus and concentrate on the whole experience. Yes, I had all my photo /video / audio gear...including my new drone which was left in its case for most of the trip. I also got substantial work done on my podcast /vlog project while we were at one of the most beautiful nature resorts...yet, I resisted the urge to be "the photographer". Bali holds some very special energy and I felt exactly the same magic I did the last time... Awesome juice!! Growing up in a city, Im fortunate to have a father who loves the nature 🌳, who would take me out camping in the wild almost every weekend when I was a child. I remember trekking in rivers, searching for natural water slides, and falling asleep with the sound of crickets. 🦗 . Having lived in mega cities like Shanghai and NYC for a combine of nearly 9 years, I know that staying close to clean water source is a necessity for me. That’s how I feel alive and how I truly feel the flow of life. 🌊 . And as I age, my desire to return to nature grows stronger. So 9 months ago, I placed an order with the Universe 💫 asking for somewhere I can have an easy access to both the mountains and the ocean, somewhere I can sustain myself, somewhere I can settle, somewhere I can call home. 🏠 I even googled, and the result told me Costa Rica. 🤭 . But the Universe always knows better - The moment I asked, She has already orchestrated a string of events. All I need to do is listen to my heart, count my blessings, offer gratitude, and follow the trace. 💖 . “It’s only when we take that first step towards our desire, we can see the magic that’s just around the corner.” ✨ . Road to the waterfall. ⁣ Remember earlier, I posted a photo of a waterfall in a cave? Well this was the road leading to it, not far from the entrance. ⁣ This day was actually a special one, as there was the Balinese celebration called Galungan, the victory of good over evil. ⁣ The lady on the road ( second photo ) was probably on the way to the temple close to the waterfall. ⁣ When I arrived there was many Balinese in their traditional dresses at the temple. ⁣ ⁣ Thewaterfall hunt was fun, especially with palm tree covered roads like this one 🌴⁣ ⁣ Have you every been in another country when they had an important holiday? ⁣ Do you remember which one?
