Shortly after leaving the Pacific Northwest Coast of America, I found myself in the rugged embrace of Western Ireland. Connemara’s rural voice spoke to my inner hermit. I found it’s harsh weather and desolate landscape to be a portal into a magical realm. I half expected mythical creatures and men waving swords to be meeting us around every bend. Instead, we were greeted only by howling winds and wayward sheep. This picture was taken as I struggled to keep upright against the resident gales of Lough Mask. (September, 2016)
