I made a ttte fic! based on these engines:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ant and Bee are small mining engines that pull ore, coal, overburden, and, of course, the mines workers. other engines call them "hobbits" but they know it's all in good fun, and they don't really mean to be rude.
One Day, On The Great Laxey Mine Railway...
"Ant, Bee..." Their Controller Boomed "Yes?" The two asked. "I am buying a new locomotive. They shall arrive soon."
"Do you have any more information?" Bee Asked. "Yes. They Shall Be a Battery Electric Engine. They will be unveiled at Valley Gardens at 6pm." he said. and walked off. Soon, the two were off to work, pulling ore, coal, and overburden from the mines, and workers to the mines. while at the water tower, they talked. "What do you think the new engine's name will be?" Ant asked "maybe fly?" Bee thought "or cockroach?" said Ant. suddenly, they heard a bell
"They must be calling us to see the new engine." the two went to see the new engine. "Hello." the engine said "I am Wasp." "Hello, Wasp! I'm Ant!" "Bleh! you smell horrid!" Wasp said "How Rude!" said Bee "It's true, Ant. have you Been cleaned?" the electric engine asked, "well...only lightly, this is a mining railway." Bee said, "So it would be redundant." They Continued. "speaking of" said Ant. "you have to take these flatbeds." Wasp Bashed into the foolish flatbeds carrying some new thumpers. "OW!" the flatbeds yelled. "We'll pave that green square out...'' they said. "No problem!" Wasp said. Wasp drove recklessly, bashing the flatbeds. though soon, they stopped in the mine. "Alright. unload the thumPAAAAAAAAA-" Screamed Wasp "ON ON!" the flatbeds screamed, and SMASHED into the mine. "OH NO!" said Wasp, as the mine COLLAPSED! the workers were all out, but Wasp Wasnt. "Don't worry!" said Ant. And Them, With Bee, Tied Ropes To Wasp. and pulled "GRRRRRRRRRRRR" after lots of pulling, They Finally Brought Wasp, The Flatbeds, and thumpers out. "now you know not to Bump flatbeds, don't you?" said Bee "Yes, I do..." Wasp said. soon the thumpers were breaking down the rocks, so the engines and miners could get back to work.

The #portalmasterhunters managed to open a way to the dimension of #justshapesandbeats and with the matter & energy of there they created their weapons which are able to destroy a portalmaster (which are undestructable) and they also made their own killer robots by an abandonedi robot factory called "Antran tech". Inspiring by others' errors and Jsab game's protagonists they made the Shapebots: bad clones of the heroic shapes; Finguns: half locomotive half mafia man; Battery-stein: more avanced and by their opinion better than krankestein; Sharpwing: flying and fighting drone commanded like a toy plane. #skylanders #reignitedskylanders #plane #robots #killerrobots #jsab #antimatter #triangle #rhombus #pentagon #helix #weapons #lasershield #laserweapon #locomotive #mitra #axe #battery #electricity #squad #army #sciencefantasy #organization #colorful #bringbacktheskylands https://www.instagram.com/p/CnJ91mVMNYJ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

While there is a certain romance to steam locomotives, I see no reason to preserve the polluting, ugly, inefficient monsters we call diesel locomotives, electrified trains or hell even battery electrific and hydrogen are all better ways to power a train than diesel

hi hello I come bearing a vox request
I don’t have any super specific requests but I would vv much appreciate it if you could write drabble/list a few headcanons for a vox x reader situation where both people are workaholics. (also preferably a nb reader)
sorry if any of this is confusing this is my first time requesting anything on tumblr 😭thanks in advance!
A/N: Hi there! not confusing at all! I would've fulfilled this request sooner, but i got a little busy today plus i had to watch the new episodes! Any who, hope you enjoy! I did do a half and half type of format, i couldn't really decide which to do so i went with both
Character: Vox
Type: Headcanons + Drabble (Workaholic!Vox x non-binary Workaholic!reader)
Listen. There's no way you can't convince me that Vox, video demon, founder and CEO of VoxTech, the demon that practically RUNS television, isn't a workaholic. He more than likely produces a vast majority of shows too.
He can't always help it though. Sometimes he just gets so caught up in what he's working on.
And the fact that you too are as work-orientated as he is doesn't help. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. Some of his best works have been made with you by his side. On the downside, this also means that with you both being workaholics, it's a common occurrence for the both of you to forget to slow down and relax every once in a while
But don't be mistaken, the two of you still go on dates. You're still his plus one to any event he's invited to. It's just that both of you prefer to work on passion projects through the night, accompanied by a couple cups of coffee or tea.
There's really no one he'd rather work beside. You were his partner. In crime, in business, in romance. No one else could really keep up with his visions like you could. It deepens his trust in you and in turn his affections.
But of course, even the two of you can't keep chugging on forever. Even locomotives have to stop sometimes. A nice night in is sometimes the best way to charge that battery... if you two don't crash first that is.
Three days.
Valentino and Velvette hadn't seen either you or Vox in three days. Sure, they'd received emails and calls, but neither one of them had had any visual confirmation that you were both still kicking. So imagine their surprise to see you and the video star passed out on the couch in the trio's lounge, limbs entangled.
No doubt the two of you had just crashed after a rather productive working binge and just picked the closest soft piece of furniture to collapse on.
Valentino had to suppress a snicker, instead turning to the youngest of the Vee's. Velvette, of course, had been quick to pull out her phone to snap pictures of the spectacle. 'Blackmail' she mouthed to the moth demon when he raised an eyebrow in question.
They would surely give you two hell later, but for now, Val and Vel would let you be. After all, they had to admit that ever since you came along productivity at Vee Tower had skyrocketed... as had Vox's happiness.

The miniature train in Setagaya Park, Tokyo, based on the D51 272 locomotive that's on display in the park. The small train used to have a steam locomotive, but it became too expensive to maintain and was changed to a battery-driven electric model.

Mopeds are enjoying a sort of revival in the popular zeitgeist. They're less threatening than motorcycles, and more approachable than e-bikes. For the price of one 48-volt AliExpress mountain bike special, you could have two waterlogged Puch Maxis. Even the greatest adherent of modern, carbon-neutral locomotion has gotta admit that this is a smokin' deal.
This is unfortunate for me, an individual who has relied on the historical under-pricing of these fine combustion-based scoots. Before, I had my choice of two-hundred-dollar commuters with carburetors that clogged during the Carter administration. Now, I look out my window and see smiling riders putt-putting along the bike pathways, enjoying the wonders of nature with the help of a two-stroke propulsion system, free from the crush of traffic and six-thousand-pound luxobarge crossovers. They're not even hipsters, I realize with a grimace of horror. These are regular-ass normal people.
Even with the furious competition for deals, I still have a garage full of 1970s and 1980s motorized bicycles which I can rely on to get to work when my 1970s and 1980s cars have broken. As luck would have it, I am also too stupid to give up on those mopeds which have done something otherwise irreparable, like crack their engines or spray burning oil onto my pant leg. This means I will have a reasonable supply until the price of e-bikes drops so far that I can put a future uncontrollable lithium-ion battery fire in my garage for fifty bucks. Chalk up another win for hoarding.
Of course, this doesn't help you, my most important confidant. That's right. It's all about you: don't listen to your family members, friends, or law-enforcement officials, who are jealous. Hoard mopeds. Get them right off the street. Hell, scooters too. Little Honda Sprees. And then, when you've spent a whole bunch of money on the project and then got bored of it when it runs properly, well, I can come by and throw those in the back of my van. It's powered mostly by moped motors, admittedly, but it still gets the job done.

"California just cracked down on pollution from transportation in two major moves, part of an effort to improve air quality and cut carbon emissions at the same time.
On Friday, the California Air Resources Board unanimously approved a rule that would ban the sale of diesel big rigs in the state by 2036. The mandate, which will apply to about 1.8 million trucks — including those operated by Amazon, UPS, and the U.S. Postal Service —  is reportedly the first in the world to require trucks to ditch internal combustion engines. The news came one day after California became the first state to adopt standards to limit pollution from trains.
Trucks and Diesel
The regulations are intended to improve air quality and trim carbon emissions from transportation, the source of about half the state’s greenhouse gases. Trucks and trains spew diesel exhaust, full of soot that contains more than 40 cancer-causing substances, responsible for an estimated 70 percent of Californian’s cancer risk from air pollution.
The trucking rule requires school buses and garbage trucks to be emissions-free within four years. By 2042, all trucks will be required to be “zero-emission,” meaning there’s no pollution coming out of their tailpipes. The deadline comes sooner for drayage trucks, which transport cargo from ports and railyards to warehouses — typically short routes that require less battery range. New drayage trucks must be “zero-emission” beginning next year, with the rule applying to all drayage trucks on the road in 2035.
Currently, medium and heavy-duty vehicles account for a fifth of greenhouse gas emissions statewide. In August, California clamped down on pollution from passenger vehicles with a plan to end the sale of new gas-powered cars in the state by 2035.
People breathing pollution from freeways and warehouse hubs have long called for stricter air standards. In the port cities of Long Beach and Los Angeles, some 6,000 trucks pass through every day, exposing residents to high levels of ozone and particulate matter, pollutants linked with a range of problems including respiratory conditions and cardiovascular disease. Long Beach residents who live the closest to ports and freeways have a life expectancy about 14 years shorter compared to people who live further away...
Trains and Locomotives
According to the new rules, the state is banning locomotive engines that are more than 23 years old by 2030. It also bans trains from idling for more than 30 minutes, provided that they are equipped with an engine that can shut off automatically.
The stage for the rule was set by a single line buried in the Biden administration’s proposed auto emissions rules, in which the Environmental Protection Agency said it was considering allowing states to regulate locomotives. Still, California’s new rules may spark a legal battle with the rail industry, which argues that the state doesn’t have the authority to make such sweeping changes.
Though railroads only account for about 2 percent of the country’s carbon emissions from transportation, switching to trains powered by batteries or hydrogen fuel cells would provide some benefits in the effort to tackle climate change. The public health gains would be even bigger: The California Air Resources Board estimates its new rules for trains, passed on Thursday, would lower cancer risk in neighborhoods near rail yards by more than 90 percent.
“This is an absolutely transformative rule to clean our air and mitigate climate change,” Liane Randolph, the chair of the air quality board, said ahead of the vote on the trucking rules on Friday. “We all know there’s a lot of challenges, but those challenges aren’t going to be tackled unless we move forward … if not now, when?”"

An introduction to VR locomotives, part 7/7: the Dr19
So we come to the end of this series of me being horny for locomotives. The last sexy machines to be introduced are so new that they don't even have an established nickname yet, the first locos having only entered service half a year ago: the Dr19.
Tumblr media
Whereas all our new rolling stock since the early 90s has been based on pre-existing designs, these green beauties were tailored for our need by Stadler Valencia. These robust cuties can withstand temperatures down to -40 degrees Celsius, they are powered by two diesel engines (which can also use biodiesel), and we are already looking into the possibility of turning them into diesel-battery hybrids by replacing one engine with battery packs. As new technology becomes available, the sexy modular design makes it possible to swap out the engines for new, more environmentally friendly versions.
We've ordered 60 of these handsome things, with an option for 100 more. The first Dr19's were delivered in early 2022, and we tested them extensively before putting them to use in commercial service in May this year.
The Dr19 has been optimised for use in freight trains, with a top speed of "only" 120 km/h, but with a power output of 1 900 kW, making them currently our most powerful diesel (but not most powerful of all time, as that title belongs to the sexy French ladies of the Dr13 class, which we retired in 2000). Of course, there's no reason why they can't be used to haul passenger trains too, and they likely will do so for example on the northernmost, non-electrified stretch of the Helsinki-Kolari night train.
The official plan is for the Dr19 to replace our oldest locomotives, the handsome daddies of the Dv12 class. However, as the Dr19 is too heavy to operate on all tracks currently served by the silver daddies, it's likely we'll keep some of them around to keep company to the younger boys and girls. However (and we haven't said this publicly) I would presume the Dr19's will replace the butch ladies of the Dr16 class.

First tri-mode Class 93 is under construction
Stadler has started production of tri-mode Class 93 locomotives for Rail Operations UK and has completed the first body. The Class 93s will be the first tri-mode machines in Britain. Assembly of all the components and sub-systems will now follow at Stadler’s Valencia plant, and the first locomotive is set to arrive in Britain next March, entering service later in the year.
