The Creatures Behind the Mask

Turn around and see yourself

the mask you wear upon your face

Do you see it as a blessing

or as a complete disgrace?

Those of us who hide

those of us who crawl

see it as a means to an end

weighing nothing at all

Those of us who glorify

those of us who shine

keep up the act

to make themselves appear benign

No matter the secret

no matter the veil

we are dark inside

What is now black was once pale

None come to our aid

Behind the Mask: A Monster's Manipulation

In the dim recesses of human interaction, a gentle ember of warmth flickers. A semblance of camaraderie, a soothing attraction. Welcoming embraces hold promises of connection, however fragile. It's a dance of trust, a reflection of shared hopes, yet underneath, an enigmatic truth lies.

Like a mirage in a desert, the reflection shimmers, inviting and beguiling. Surface-level charms dazzle like moonlit ripples on the water's edge. Intentions are concealed, a deceptive masquerade spun with threads of darkness.

A calculated presentation unfolds: a masterpiece of manipulation. Pulled into their orbit, orchestrated by wicked strings. A parade of a seemingly kindred spirit marches ahead, each step an artful manoeuvre. The comfort they offer is a tapestry of deception, woven to entrap the unsuspecting.

In a fleeting instant, a flaw surfaces. An unguarded glimpse behind the curtain. Shadows flutter like pages of a forgotten book, revealing hints of a truer self. But before understanding solidifies, the curtain is hastily drawn, casting doubt on your own senses. Is it a trick of the mind or a glimpse of reality?

Yet, the fractures persist. The mask's edges fray. It's as if the wind has caught the veil, unfurling it like waves upon the water. A raw truth emerges, stark as lightning in the night sky. Beneath the mask lies the monstrous core. -

A chilling realization: the surface beauty belies the depths of darkness within.

Breaking free becomes a necessity, a struggle against an entrapped design. Chains of manipulation crumble as you fall beyond their reach. Freedom arrives like a bitter potion, sweet but laced with a haunting aftertaste. The realization that the monsters walked among us, disguised in human guise.

A lingering dread caresses your thoughts, a spectre of fear woven into your consciousness. A tapestry of deceit. Threads of twisted truth. Entangling your mind. The words once spoken are a dissonant symphony, their echoes reverberating through your thoughts.

As the fog of illusion lifts, the truth emerges like the sun piercing through clouds. The dance you partook in was a sinister waltz, guided by a monster's strings. Alone, you traverse uncharted territory, shadows lengthening as darkness encroaches.

Yet, amid the somber hues of your newfound wisdom, a glimmer of light emerges. Instincts become allies, a beacon through the labyrinth of deceit. In a world where monsters walk disguised, your caution becomes armour, and your survivor's spirit leads the way.
