When Phillip carved the first glyph into his body, he began to hear someone's voice. The voice claimed to be his god, and Phillip was afraid that his time had come, and he hasn't found his brother yet. The Lord reassured him, encouraged him and said that he would tell where Caleb was, but first something had to be done. He also promised to help him in the future, rewarding him with new glyphs in exchange for completing missions. And Phillip will do every one of them.
The In Between Realm is a wonderful place that allows you to observe any living creature, especially if you know its name. Watching the witches that lived on what was once his body, the Titan learned that a person had arrived on the islands. And starting to watch him, he learned about Phillip.
From that moment on, the Titan could watch over him, a little boy whose brother had abandoned him for a witch. And watching the boy grow, how he prays on his knees, how he is beaten for petty offenses, the Titan became attached to him. And he was quite jealous of the Lord God guy, whom humans tried so hard to please.
Oh, how happy he was when the grown-up Phillip carved the glyph into his body. Now he could hear the Titan. Now The Titan could speak to him. And over the years of observation, he learned enough to ideally pretend to be someone he never was.
(Maybe we can call it Prophet of Titan AU)
Ohohoho, I like this one! Sacrilegiousness and Papa Titan/Belos? You shouldn't have!
I actually really like this. Morally grey on the part of the Titan, but you can tell how lonely he is and how admirable he is of Philip - he needs a companion, and this intelligent, striking young man is deserving of that aforementioned admiration.
So to be honest, why wouldn't P. Titan take advantage of Philips belief system to sort of... ease him into being his companion, then perhaps his lover? Let's just hope Philip never finds out (spoiler: he does).
not that we didn't already Know belos was full of shit, but it's even funnier knowing the titan was still alive the whole time and probably judging him
Here's this stupid animatic video that's been sitting in my gallery for almost a year because I never finished it. I thought it would be better to just share it even if the second half is sketchy
I'VE GOT TO BE DIRECT. IF I'M WRONG PLEASE CORRECT. YOU'RE STANDING ON MY NECK. LOOK RIGHT THROUGH ME. SAY IM GLOOMY. YEAH, SO SUE ME? EXCUSE ME? EXCUSE ME?? I'VE GOT TO BE DIRECT. IT'S LIKE A BIG TRAIN WRECK. YOU'RE STANDING ON MY NECK! YOU'RE STANDING ON MY NECK! you're standing on my neck.
One thing I have noticed about the show and the fandom is that there seems to be a bit of a disconnect (for lack of a better term) between how the Titan is viewed as a holy figure.
The Boiling Isles is built atop the Titan's corpse, but the only one who put the Titan up as some sort of higher power was Belos. We don't see anybody else really worship the Titan during Belos' reign, and we saw in the Savage Ages that no one really worshipped the Titan either.
When we meet the Titan's spirit in the finale, it is clear he is a flawed being, not some perfect, all knowing diety. But when Luz is brought back with Titan powers, people in the fandom act like she is a (demi) goddess, and that Amity will be swooning over her 'goddess' and that Luz is the show's equivalent of Christ. King is the Titan's son, but his arc was about realizing he doesn't need to be treated as special to be happy. Luz had Titan powers, but she was still just Luz.
Was thinking of those other ideas @artistcaptainbendy and I shared and I had to get it out of my system.
We were in agreement that the lycans should be just people turned into Goofy... or Goofcyans (Goofcyans?) if you will. The idea was so hilarious and I couldn't stop giggling over drawing it. And yes, the inspiration was from that one nightmare sequence from A Goofy Movie (which I admit scared me as a kid, but hey I made good use of that trauma now).
I also wanted to do an official reveal of the lords... and once again, find some humor in the situation. It was probably obvious who the Mother Miranda equivalent was going to be, and then I had an idea of who I wanted for the Duke. (Side note, his va has played the game–I watched his playthrough with a certain friend of his awhile ago.)
That is, I don’t think these two ever had a full-on conversation in canon (correct me if I’m wrong). Meaning. MEEEAAANING (inhale)
BELOS NEVER SPOKE TO THE TITAN.
Either the living one or the one stuck in the in-between. In fact, consider this line from king’s tide:
“I didn’t realize you’re already combining glyphs. You do have a strange intuition with these. Took me years to figure that out. Almost as if the Titan himself didn’t want me to have that knowledge.”
YEAH. BECAUSE HE DIDN’T.
What PT did was the fantasy equivalent to repeatedly blocking someone who kept changing their number and I find this hilarious.
