Ineffable discontinuity and the Bentley's roadtrip transformation: new back doors and other changes (after it was yellow), and Crowley... didn't notice?!*
*Also, as a side observation, did he leave the Bentley window open during the ball and everything that happened after? Why?
Have you been longing to be even more perplexed by the ineffable discontinuity of Good Omens season 2? Do you love endless data in the form of screencaps? If so, then please join me on this wild ride! Here are some highlights:
Top photos: Season 1, episode 6, after Adam reboots reality; S2e2, before Aziraphale's e3 road trip. The Bentley is a gray and black 2-tone car with 2 doors (only 1 handle is visible on each side).

And on the bottom is s2e5, while Crowley is driving, it's a solid black car with 4 doors and smaller silver hubcaps.
(edit: For those of you thinking about the different Bentley models used in s1 vs s2 (discussed in detail below), or the difference between the full car and half car set, just those three full car pictures above demonstrate that the new s2 Bentley model is NOT the reason for this mid-season shift. For more details about the half car set plus other ways to tell the Bentleys apart - without talking about color - see my newer post with handy diagrams, here.)
And the s2 interior?
Here's e1, after Crowley talks to Shax, and e3, as Aziraphale arrives in Edinburgh (which is also when the Bentley debuts as a 4-door). And look at this blocking - how both characters are posed so similarly with their backs to us in these shots!! It's so deliberate! :

And look at the seats! In e2, Crowley is talking to Shax again, and in e5, Crowley just parked the Bentley before the ball:

When Crowley, who is so tuned in that he senses the car is yellow and driving too slow even from a distance, sees the "new" Bentley in e4, he doesn't act as though anything has changed, he just happily and purposefully walks up and opens the back door that was never there to put his plants inside.
THE BACK DOOR THAT WAS NEVER THERE
For that matter, Crowley and Aziraphale both seem to be unaware of the changes! This feels like both a metaphor and a functional plot device for season 3. There's more discussion at the end of this post!
Thanks to comments and observations awhile back from @bbbitchvibbbez , I did some careful searching for s2 scenes featuring the Bentley, and this post is the labor of love and irrational obsession result!
If you want to see lots more Bentley screencaps and discussion, including Crowley nonchalantly using the new back door, and possibly also leaving the Bentley window open during the ball and everything that followed, please keep reading:
Some background and context:
Ok, so there was a different Bentley "actor" for s2. The s1 actor was a 2-door, the s2 actor is a 4-door. If you look carefully, you'll see that in s1 the backseat side windows are smaller than the front side windows. In s2, they're the same size. I talk more about the windows - with handy diagrams! - in my newer Bentley post, here.
There's also been some controversy about the interior color of the s2 Bentley, black vs brown, and how that could relate to the s2 body swap theory; here are details about that from @lonicera-caprifolium and @picturesque-about-it. I don't think my findings support (or disprove) that theory, but take a look at what I found and see what you think!
(*Please don't ask Neil about any of this, he's already given us the answers he wants to give, and he's not going to spoil the surprises in s3 now by telling us what's really going on!*)
Here's the episode/scene breakdown:
S2e1 on the street with Shax - gray, two toned, two doors (one visible door handle on a side), brown interior - both the seats and the inside panel of the door. Notice how the door is hinged at the back, and opens opposite the way most modern cars do (this is called a suicide door):

More s2e1 photos, the Bentley is in a lot of scenes this episode and as far as I can tell it stays the same gray 2-door for the whole episode, but it's frequently in dark lighting to make it harder to tell it isn't actually black (I've brightened most of these shots). It also has larger silver hubcaps, and I notice consistent brown seats (these interior pics are from three different scenes):

In s2e2, the Bentley is only in two scenes, and it's the same as s2e1. Now, you can see in the larger photo below that it's obviously not the SAME as s1 - the backseat side windows are too long - but the production team DID try to make the new Bentley "actor" look the same as in season 1. It's a gray 2-tone car with 2 doors (1 handle visible on each side) with larger silver hubcaps. As an aside, what's with the red lights on the car in this shot?? I mean, yes, it's a reflection of another car's brake lights, but why put that onscreen?
Also, in case it's relevant, Crowley is wearing his turtleneck throughout this episode, and still has the silver-sided glasses from e1:

Ok, now we have s2e3, and as Crowley meets Muriel and gives Aziraphale his car keys, we see he's no longer wearing the turtleneck, AND this is when his glasses change to black-sided ones:

Outside, we see the Bentley looks the same as the rest of s2 thus far, as Aziraphale sets off for Edinburgh. Gray 2-tone, brown interior (with window bullet hole decals very visible), with larger silver hubcaps. There's only one handle visible, so it's still meant to look like a 2-door:

Ok, here's where things start to change! Azi is driving and the Bentley is yellow. The seats might (?) be black, there's still only one door handle on the side, the silver hubcaps are still larger. But when he "changes it back", NOW it's black:

And by the time he pulls into Edinburgh, Transformation Complete. (Did Something Else Happen?? Or is this an effect of Aziraphale finally being welcome to take care of this extension of Crowley? More speculation at the end!) It's a black 4-door, two handles clearly visible on the side, with smaller silver hubcaps:

And the interior? The door panel, at least, is black now - and it has a texture that wasn't there when it was brown. Here's e1 next to e3 (and appreciate, again, this very intentional parallel blocking of the two actors!):

In s2e4, we see the Bentley in two scenes; at the beginning when Aziraphale meets Shax-as-hitchhiker, where we see the bullet holes and the black door lining, and at the end when the Bentley is reunited with Crowley:

When Aziraphale parks the Bentley back at the bookshop, we see the bullet hole decals and that it's still a black 4-door:

So he goes to meet Crowley, they come back with the plants. We can see that the camera is to the rear of the car, and the front of the car is to their left. They're standing on the left side of the car. If Crowley opens the door, we won't see the interior door panel, right? Because the Bentley doors are hinged on the back, instead of the front, so the door will open towards us:

WELL. Mx "I can feel when you drive below the speed limit" and "change it back!" Crowley very eagerly walks up to the BLACK car, greets it with some sweet baby talk, and then opens the suddenly-existing BACK door with a hinge on the front (so it opens away from us) as if this is All Perfectly Normal, and we can (barely) see the door lining and it's BLACK and textured:

A few more shots of Crowley, standing at the brand-new back door of the Bentley, still wearing those black-sided glasses:

And in case you're wondering, in s1e2 when Anathema gets a ride in the Bentley, she climbs into the backseat from the front driver door, and she climbs out through the front passenger door. There wasn't a back door on either side. Here she climbs into the Bentley, and you can see Crowley fold down the front seat, and there's clearly only one door on that side, and it's hinged at the back. (When she gets out on the passenger side, it's harder to see, but you can tell that door is also hinged at the back.) :
In s2e5, Crowley drives the Bentley to the bookshop, and then we only catch a few small glimpses of it while Aziraphale is recruiting shopkeepers to the meeting/ball. Here's Crowley driving the black 4-door Bentley with small silver hubcaps, and here he is getting out of the car with black seats. The front door is still hinged at the back, as it always has been. The window is open - his hand is reaching through to open the door - so we can't see the bullet hole decals:

The next time we see more than a hint of the Bentley, it's the end of s2e6 and Crowley is standing next to it, watching Azi leave with the Metatron. It's still black, with 4 doors and black seats and smaller hubcaps. We don't see the bullet hole decals, but perhaps the window is still open from when he parked it in e5? (And WHY would he leave the window open? Was someone supposed to come by after he parked it to deliver something to the Bentley, or take something out?) Emotional photos ahead:

I over exposed that last picture, to make the colors really easy to pick out. The seats are absolutely, definitely black.
So... what does it mean? Why did it happen, and why didn't Crowley notice or react?
I love the metaphor that Aziraphale subconsciously created a back door for - or into - Crowley, especially with all those references to the "back channels" of communication between heaven and hell. I'm thinking it could represent - or actually be - another way for them to communicate, or like another entrance to his heart; it's something that Aziraphale doesn't realize he changed or added and that Crowley hasn't noticed yet either, even if he's making use of those changes on some level. I'm sure other metaphors could also fit!
And I'm reminded of something @theeminentlyimpractical said, "Crowley, despite his whining, fully accepts the idea of "our car," which fundamentally transforms the Bentley". That post was liked by Neil, so there could definitely be something to this "our car" transformation line of thinking.
So, was the transformation a subconscious effect of Aziraphale finally being welcome by Crowley to drive the Bentley, and caring for and taking responsibility for this part of Crowley? Or did Aziraphale consciously do this, or did Crowley? Or maybe the Bentley is sentient, and it chose to be bigger/different now, to accommodate both of them. Or did the change happen in response to Something Else We Didn't See?
Is Crowley's (and Aziraphale's) apparent non-reaction another example of an unreliable narrator or some memory tampering? Is manipulation of the Book of Life involved? Are there multiple timelines? Is someone time traveling? Or is it just that Aziraphale and Crowley already discussed the changes off screen, before Aziraphale left Edinburgh?
If Crowley noticed the changes, I would have expected a comment about them. Either, "change it back!" or a reluctant, "those are changes I can live with", or... Something. But instead, the production team went to some trouble to make sure the hints are there, but hard to spot (you can review the similar, careful s1 hints about the appearance swap here, from @fuckyeahgoodomens); as opposed to, for one example, the way they very clearly pointed out Maggie's mysterious spelling mistake, both on screen and in the dialogue. So I feel reasonably certain the Bentley's transformation is a careful, subtle hint about a Secret Something Important That Will Be Revealed In Season 3. I think it's both a metaphor and a plot device*.
What are some of your favorite metaphors? Your most reasonable theories? What about some of your biggest, wildest, most improbable theories?

This is a photo of the s1 Bentley, Mary! And not the s2 model, "our car".
Interesting choice... 👀
hi this is silly but why does crowley bother changing red lights to green when he can just run red lights? ive just been thinking about this, i dont see crowley being that traffic law abiding
Because if you run too many red lights in central London even if you are driving a Bentley at impossible speeds and have miracles on your side someone is going to drive into the side of your car. And there's the Bentley's paint job to consider.

I just put together that Crowley, despite his whining, fully accepts the idea of "our car," which fundamentally transforms the Bentley.
That's why Shax then has to play Hitchhiker instead of just popping in like she had previously - now that it's the Earthly property of an angel as well as a demon, she needs an invite.

It's possible that Crowley accepted Aziraphale's other changes to "our car", but I find it highly suspect that he doesn't SAY ANYTHING about them, at least not in any scene we've seen so far.
Top: Season 1 after Adam reboots reality, Season 2 before Aziraphale takes "our car" to Edinburgh

Bottom: Season 2 promo photo, Season 2 before the ball with Crowley driving (after the trip to Edinburgh)
The changes that take place during the drive to Edinburgh include: solid black exterior instead of 2-tone gray and black, black interior instead of brown with new texture on the door panels, 4 doors instead of 2 (you can count the handles on each side, and the new back doors open in the opposite direction as the front doors), and smaller hubcaps. The bullet decals appear to stay no matter what.
I have a huge post about all of that here, with SO MANY screencaps, and I included a link to the post you mentioned about the s1 Bentley, Mary.
This isn't an accidental continuity error, it's intentional. Especially when you consider that filming generally happens out of order - it would take so much careful effort to be sure something looks one way for the first half of a season and another way for the second half. It's an in-universe change we won't have an official explanation for until s3, and Neil is just doing the magician's job of misdirecting the audience's attention in the middle of his magic show to preserve all the mystery and wonder of the big reveal.
The change in Bentley "actor" from s1 to s2 doesn't explain the mid-s2 changes, though, and neither does the fact that they're using the old s1 half-car/cab-only set in addition to the new s2 drivable Bentley model. Take a look at my screenshots! You CAN see the difference between the s1 and early s2 Bentleys if you look at the size of the backseat side windows, but the difference is subtle.
It IS really interesting that you pointed out the seats might be black in s1 after Adam reboots reality. I hadn't noticed that, but agree it could just be a distance/lighting thing. Maybe.
i know loads of other people have written and theorised about this, and there was an amazing post about how someone knew the actual owner of the bentley and how things had to get swapped around*, but for the sake of my own bloody sanity i needed to go through all the bentley snippets we see re: seat colours, interior door panel colours, and the bond transfers because otherwise it was going to drive me loopy-
*if anyone has a link for this post, please wing it over to me and i will link, it was really interesting!!!
let's start with the 1941 and 1967 flashbacks where we see the bentley: ✅ brown seats ✅ brown panels (as far as i can tell) ✅ bullet decal (1967):

then let's move to s1. tbh, i've only done this for the sake of full disclosure, but as far as i can tell, ✅ brown seats ✅ brown panels ✅ bullet decal (no pics but fairly content that they're there in all scenes):

and then, post bentley going up like kindling, and being resurrected by adam, we can see what looks to be black seats and, i'd hazard is an open window (given the lack of shimmer/reflection compared to the window on its left) - see we can't confirm the bullet decals. however - and mainly because it doesnt fit the pattern im about to lay out - this image is very zoomed in, and lighting quality isn't quite reliable. so personally, im considering this as inconclusive:

so now let's move onto s2. eps 1 and 2 are fairly straightforward, ✅ brown seats ✅ brown panels ✅ bullet decal:
episode 1: (3rd and 4th images are before and after the beelzebub interaction)

episode 2:

but here's where things get interesting (stating the obvious, i know that everyone knows this), but given that this is when aziraphale takes the bentley - after the very poignant "our car' discussion - we can see the following:
setting off from soho: ✅ brown seats ✅ bullet decal ❓brown panels, but likely
on the way to edinburgh: ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels
arrival in edinburgh: ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels

okay, well, he changed the bodywork and hubcaps too, so this makes sense. but black? for aziraphale? feels somewhat like it's a compromise; he's gone ostentatious on the outside, literally the colour of crowley's eyes, but red leather for the interior... is a little much. so he compromises - keeps the decals (to honour his knight in turtleneck armour), but changes the inside to a cool, suave black. very 007.
but then we go to ep4, and specifically when aziraphale is accosted by shax. now, clear point to remember - shax has to have permission to enter, and compared to ep2 when she asks but materialises inside anyway, she now waits for aziraphale to acquiesce. this is the difference between a demon's car, and a demon-and-angel-couple-who-arent-quite-yet-a-couple-but-thats-just-semantics' car. by this point, crowley has accepted, agreed, that it is their car.
hitchhiker: ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels
return to soho: ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels

ep5 carries on in much the same way as the end of ep4 - crowley has not changed anything since edinburgh, ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels (not pictured, but can be seen in the same bit as the first pic):

and then ep6, beloved. again, nothing has changed. crowley's window is, however, rolled down in the departure scene, so the decal can't be accounted for. that being said, im fairly sure we can be certain it's there (and i have a thought about why it's rolled down but tbh it's so arbitrary that it's barely worth mentioning imo). in any case, ❌ black seats ❓ bullet decal ❌ black panels:

now i know there's the whole separate thing about the exterior changing from light grey to dark grey/black, but tbh i think that is going to be down to the continuity issue with the original bentley used in s1. as for neil's answers on his asks, here and here... look. could be something of nothing, but i don't think personally it's a wider conspiracy; i think it could be just be either that yeah, maybe some of my colour assignments in the above screenshots are wrong, or he's doing his parent-teacher-writing thing of what do you think?
maybe not, maybe it was a continuity issue, and we just have to apply hc to this to get an explanation.
well, mine is just simply that it's not a nefarious issue or mucking about with time etc... i think crowley just accepted aziraphale's ownership, and whilst he drew the line at yellow bodywork (the respectable choice imo, tbh), he kept everything else.

It's done! Nearly a year after I designed and painted this needlepoint canvas, I've finally finished and framed it.

This original design was based on my wistful South-Downs-truther hope that the Bentley will transform into a two-toned tribute to Crowley and Aziraphale's love once they've settled into their cottage.
You can see the unstitched canvas and a link to the real-life 1937 Bentley that inspired the paint choices on the original post:

Hello Good Omens fans! Did you know the Good Omens team has put a lot of work into making “errors'' in the second season? Whether you were already aware, or just catching up, please take a look at the links below. Clicking any link will take you to one of the original posts that mentioned the discontinuity.
This post will continue to be updated and extended as new meta are published. Is there anything missing that you'd like to add? Reblogs, comments or messages are welcome!
Why are there so many discontinuities? Well, existing theories include different perspectives being shown, time-loops, separate timelines, a story told “out of order” and more! What's your opinion?
Discontinuities across multiple episodes:
Crowley’s sideburns.
Crowleys’ sunglasses.
The bookshop clock is frequently showing the “wrong” time (and other time inconsistencies).
The bookshop porch pillars/columns are sometimes clean, sometimes marked.
Randomly dusty streets (on a closed set no less!).
Street signage (Maggie’s and 1001 nights).
Almost every scene with visible extras, see here, here and here for examples.
Episode 1
There's TWO scrolls in Before the Beginning?
Gabriel’s/Jim’s entrance happens twice.
Crowley's conversation with Shax in the park shows him putting down the newspaper twice, and Shax's bag is all over the place.
Honolulu Roast sign.
Moving lamps inside GMCoGMD.
Disappearing eccles cakes.
Crowley's watch is set an hour ahead of his phone.
Episode 2
The lane where Crowley parks his Bentley varies between being wet and dry as well as the position it’s parked in, the colour grading, and the amount of dust on the Bentley windscreen! Also - the backdrop of the lane where Crowley parks the Bentley is impossible.
The amount of dust on Jim’s book changes in between cuts.
Job Minisode - varying wigs used for Bildad.
Episode 3
Muriel's arrival continues from a much earlier scene in E2 - see here and here.
Aziraphale parks in an unexplained location before going to the Resurrectionist pub, and also mysteriously loses his suitcase.
Resurrectionist Pub’s outdoor sign has two versions (no I don’t just mean the Jesus side!).
Bentley now 4-door (may be explained by the transformation sequence).
Awning of a new age, extras are discontinuous and standins for Nina and Maggie are visible.
Edinburgh Flashback - Crowley’s muttonchops change in size during the mausoleum scene.
Episode 4
Each time they are at the Windmill theatre, items in the background keep disappearing.
The polaroids (yes, two!) on screen are different sizes.
The polaroid itself is very confusing with Crowley’s weird arm.
The morse code in Hell is saying something slightly different to the loud speaker...
Episode 5
Nina and Maggie switch places? (Who knew they could teleport like that lol?)
High ranking demons are bottom of the barrel?
The “Surrender the angle” sign is thrown in twice?
A child randomly appears upon exit from the ball (approx 32:36).
Episode 6
Gabriel’s statue sometimes has a cross, sometimes not.
Crowley/David's stand-in is visible as Nina and Maggie leave.
French restaurant Fairy lights.
Final 15 clock shenanigans - why does the clock change from 9:25 to 9:40?
Are there two suns at the end of the episode?
These are the one's I've seen published so far and I'll keep adding to the list as more are published. In the meantime, if you spot anything missing from my list, please share the post about it :)

Thank you for the links! I would LOVE to know more about the abandoned complicated camera move for the kiss, maybe after s3 he'll tell us? So interesting!
The Bentley will make a great vessel, or means of communication, or whatever its transformation into the bigger, blacker Our Car was meant to prepare it for.
The kiss, the Book of Life and the fly...
I've not seen anyone talk about this in this way so here's a fun theory of sorts for you... one that might make the kiss hurt less, even?!?!
More under the big cutty thing...
So the threat of erasure from The Book of Life looms large, right? The Metatron's plan honestly looks like he was delaying Michael's Book of Life erasure plan for Aziraphale until he could lure Aziraphale away from Crowley and up to Heaven, which makes sense because Crowley is powerful and can raise the dead and all that, yes? Ok, so, because Aziraphale is in some major, major trouble here... let's presume this happens. Let's presume that all the foreshadowing of Aziraphale winding up getting some of Gabriel's plot from their paralleling happens and Aziraphale is stripped of memories and erased from existence. Slight problem here being...
...Good Omens largely cannot exist without Aziraphale and obviously Aziraphale is going to have to come back, correct? So how does he? Well, how did Gabriel? If you say "the fly", you are obviously correct but look a little deeper at what the fly actually *is*... it's literally *Beezelbub*.
It's not some random fly-- it's part of Beez's body/essence/whatever you want to call what demons have. Beez literally gives Gabriel their body and Gabriel chooses to hide his whole self there-- chooses the fly to keep himself safe and to stay with/get to be with Beez on some level, no matter what happened to him. Gabriel got to make conscious choices about all of this because he had a plan and got to try to enact one out. Aziraphale does not.
Aziraphale has been fooled into going to Heaven believing that The Metatron wants him to get to work as the new archangel but, in reality, the plan is to restart armageddon and end all life on earth. It's time for war and Aziraphale is probably inevitably going to get Book of Life'd at some point. They keep foreshadowing it and they also have parallels to it with Crowley unable to remember much pre-Fall, Aziraphale's discorporation and the Madame Tracy plot in S1, and other moments. So if Aziraphale gets erased from existence from being taken out of The Book of Life, he somehow has to *still in exist in some way*, theoretically, to be brought back... which would seem to not make sense as he was just erased, yes?
It cannot be as simple as Crowley snapping Mr. Brown of Brown's World of Carpets back into existence. Mr. Brown was a human who existed and was killed. Crowley brought him back to life. But an angel erased from The Book of Life is then a being who never existed, right? It's not resurrection; it'd be creation, which might be the one thing Crowley cannot do because you could argue only God could. So *some part of Aziraphale must still exist* for Crowley to use to bring him back, right? There has to be an Ineffable Husbands version of Beez's fly... and there is. We've already seen it.
Just like how the fly was Beez, Aziraphale remains alive within Crowley... but how? When?
Crowley's never offered that to Aziraphale, has he?
Oh, hasn't he just, though?
For the record, I'm not saying that Crowley is suddenly going to have a Madame Tracy plot where he's like possessed by Aziraphale lol. I *am* saying that Madame Tracy as a vessel for Aziraphale's essence, Beez's fly, and the S1 Crowley and Aziraphale body swap... all of these things together foreshadow how Aziraphale survives erasure from existence. Plus, this hilarious bit below from S1 that'll seem even funnier in retrospect...
...as here is Aziraphale in S1, in a state of semi-non-existence, in search of a body to live in long enough to try to stop the end of the world and he says to Crowley...
An angel and a demon... probably explode. Except... it's the opposite... and S2 illustrates that. In S2, they perform a miracle together and they do have immense power but it doesn't cause destruction. It protects Gabriel. At the end of the season, they kiss-- a paralleling of sorts to the shared miracle but also to other aspects of shared form. It's not possession, like Aziraphale and Madame Tracy (and like Adam's eventual separation of them/reviving of Aziraphale) and it's not the body swap at the end of S1 and it's not even quite as much yet of a sexual metaphor as 'you can find all of Gabriel's essence-- hook, line and sinker-- in a literal part of Beezelbub'... but all of those things foreshadow and suggest that Aziraphale might actually survive his trip up to Heaven because of the kiss that's literally breaking us all in pieces right now.
Because of Crowley loving him, really.
I'm not saying that Crowley intentionally set out to do this but even unintentionally, he could have opened a kind of container for Aziraphale equivalent to Beez's fly, which would then mean that Aziraphale is alive in S3... in the memories and essence of the being he loves and who loves him. Aziraphale cannot be fully erased by Heaven permanently because he's quite literally *a part of* Crowley now.
It was just (again) like Agnes said-- they were playing with fire and would need to choose their faces wisely.

Parallels with Nightmare in Silver (Doctor Who written by Neil) - multiple Crowleys?
Has Aziraphale been meeting with Floating Head Metatron throughout s2?
Would even vulnerable, heartbroken Crowley try to protect Aziraphale at all costs? A possible hidden transfer in the kiss.
I have questions about Nina and ESPECIALLY about Maggie...
Don't pay the guy with the blue glasses, he doesn't work here!
If you enjoyed my research, stay tuned for future posts, and take a look at my Google doc for even more Clues and metas from all over the fandom!

My Good Omens size queen car wash AU is now complete!
Read chapter 6 & 7
Rated E for Explicit Sex, ~27K words
Fic Summary: Crowley reluctantly agreed to help his colleague Anathema supervise a car wash to raise money to take their students to Pride. He wasn’t happy about it… until a gorgeous angel stepped out of a ridiculous antique Mini. Flustered, he asked the beautiful man to recommend a mechanic for his vintage Bentley, even though he already had a great mechanic, who also happened to be his best friend.
Chapter 6 Excerpt: Aziraphale looked out the window of the Bentley at the rainy city around them, and a grin crept across his face as he appreciated his fortuitous afternoon. He sneaked a glance at Crowley, who wore his customary scowl. Even with the sullen expression, he was so handsome with his perfectly-styled hair and the sharp angles of his nose and cheekbones. His eyes drifted down Crowley’s lovely neck to the open collar of his shirt, where two purple bruises peeked out.
Seeing them stirred something in Aziraphale, especially the fact that Crowley could have easily buttoned up his shirt, he seemed to have deliberately left his collar open. Even though he didn’t know he was going to see Aziraphale that day, he wanted people to see his claim.
“Soooo,” Aziraphale started, “you know Eric.”
He watched Crowley’s Adam’s apple bob as he cleared his throat. “Yep.”

In this AU story, Arizaphale and Crowley are more or less thirty-years-old. Aziraphale is a professional dancer (and a very good one). I can't wait to draw him dancing!

It was quite disturbing to draw Crowley without their demonic eyes! But their hair are quite the same as in the TV-show (2008!Crowley) so everything is fiiiine for me. (I LOVE when Crowley has long hair, so much easier for me to draw it lol)

Will you recognise aaaall the easter-eggs hidden in this cover? I had a lot of fun designing all these GO-inspired logos and trademarks!Teehee!

The car is inspired by 2017 Sebastien Ogier's car, the Ford Fiesta RS WRC (a Frenchiiiiiie just like meeee). I know NOTHING about rallyes and rally cars, so I had to do a little bit of research to be accurate. Plus, it's the first time I reinvent/draw a car, that wasn't easy but I really like the result. Shem (yes, the car has a name) is inspired from the Black Red-Belly Snake as a reference to Crowley's snake apparence in the TV-Show.

Well! I hope you'll like this first chapter! Wait for more, I have a loooot of other DMTTM WIPS and logos and stickers waiting to be achieved!

She doesn't change "back", though, she changes into something new!
That's when she transforms into a fully black 4-door, with 4 door handles instead of 2, different hubcaps, and a new interior. I know about the different s1/s2 Bentley models, including the different full and half-car sets, which are not the cause of the MID-SEASON-2 change, and I posted a huge number of screenshots to support this.
My big question is WHY, and why don't Crowley or Aziraphale seem to notice??
Quiet, Gentle and Romantic Omens - Day 64
We're all fixated on yellow, the Bentley that fits Aziraphale’s tastes, but there's also the fact that as soon as Crowley threatens Aziraphale's books, she speeds up and changes back. How well she knows Aziraphale, it's just adorable!

Transcript of main article under the cut:
THE RASCALLY DEMON Crowley (David Tennant) and the neurotic angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) put aside their differences to pull off one doozy of a Hail Mary and prevent an impending Apocalypse in Good Omens' first season. The task cemented the pair's unconventional friendship. So what are divine beings who have fallen out of grace with both Heaven and Hell to do for an encore?
The answer lies with archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm), who shows up unannounced on the doorstep of Aziraphale's London bookshop. Suddenly, Aziraphale and Crowley are caught up in a caper of biblical proportions- but also a more intimate tale.
"It's a mystery" showrunner Neil Gaiman tells SFX. "It kicks off a story that doesn't have giant consequences for the universe, even if it does have consequences for Aziraphale and Crowley. We have a lot of the marvellous Jon Hamm, who is the angel Gabriel and turns up at the beginning stark naked, carrying a cardboard box with no memory of who he is. In the same way, it is about Aziraphale and Crowley having to get involved with humanity in a way that they haven't before.
"They get dragged in slightly against their will to try to sort out the love life of Aziraphale's tenant," he continues. "Her name is Maggie (Maggie Service) and she runs the
record shop next to the bookshop. You'll see the coffee shop over the road, which is Nina's (Nina Sosanya). The relationship between Maggie and Nina is one that Crowley and Aziraphale try to fix, and mess up, because they are not good at human relationships, even if they can do miracles."
Truth be told, Gaiman never originally intended this arc to serve as Good Omens' second instalment. The TV series was based on Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's 1990 novel. The two collaborators had partially hashed out the details for a sequel to the fantasy comedy, late one night in a hotel room. This, however, is not it. Gaiman instead plotted a new narrative that could provide the connective tissue between the first season and a theoretical season three, if it happens.
"Because the hypothetical season three exists, there is a story that is there, and I didn't feel that we could drive straight from season one into that," Gaiman explains. "I knew what the stakes were. I knew what the parameters were. I also know that I had David and Michael. I had the angels from plot number one. I had demons from plot number one. And with anybody that I wanted to bring back, but didn't have room for right now, I did not have to bring them back as themselves.
"I had absolutely nothing for Madame Tracy to do in this plot, but I would be damned if Miranda Richardson wasn't going to be in this. She is one of my favourite people in the world. She is hilarious and is so good. And I knew I was going to have a new demon replacing Crowley as Hell's representative in London/the UK. Miranda's demon Shax is the best demon you could want."
It's late February 2012 and SFX is in Edinburgh for a set visit. A soundstage in Pyramids Studies has been transformed into a street in Soho. The visible local stores include the aforementioned book, coffee and record shops, as well as a magic establishment. In the middle of them all stand Aziraphale and Crowley, the latter in close proximity to his classic Bentley. It's close to the end of the six-episode season, so exactly what the duo is discussing constitutes a spoiler. We can say, however, that Aziraphale has picked up the pace. Time is of the essence as Shax marshals her forces to descend on Aziraphale's store and retrieve Gabriel.
"This is really Shax's first time out on Earth," Gaiman explains. "She is working very diligently and very hard in Hell for a long time. Now she is on Earth, trying to figure it all out. She's just discovering what Crowley has known for 6,000 years, which is that if you're a demon and come up with a brilliant plan to screw up the lives of humanity, people will get there first and do worse than anything you could have imagined! She's coming to terms with that.
"She is having to deal with the first crisis on her watch, as well, which is the disappearance of the archangel Gabriel from Heaven. It would be fair to say that by the end of the story, she is leading as much as she can get from Hell's requisition department - a legion of Hell - in an attack on a Soho bookshop."
When audiences catch up with Aziraphale again, he's enjoying his time among humans. He owns most of the block in a Soho neighbourhood, and he's meddling in Nina's love life. Meanwhile, Crowley has been living in his car, with his plants sitting on the back seat. He's grumpy about his current status quo, but frequently hangs out at Aziraphale's. The duo began as antagonists, but their history and blooming relationship will be fleshed out in flashbacks.
"One of the enormously fun things I came up with in the idea of minisodes," Gaiman explains. They are 25-minute-long episodes within the episode. We have three of them over our six episodes. Each of them is like one of those chunks of episode three (in season one). Whereas the longest one of those was four or five minutes, if that, these are full stories.
"You get to have the story of (put-upon Biblical figure) Job and you learn Aziraphale and Crowley's part in the story. Then writer Cat Clarke takes us to Edinburgh in the 1820s for a tale of body-snatching and attempted murder that the boys get involved in," he adds.
"Finally, Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman reunite the League of Gentlemen in a Nazi-period story that takes place very shortly after the episode in the church. That one was the only one I said had to be there, because I fell in love with our Nazi spies in the church I kept thinking, "What would happen if they essentially came back as zombies with a mission from Hell to try and investigate whether or not Crowley and Aziraphale were actually fraternising?"
Gaiman admits that one of the greatest challenges has been filming Good Omens simultaneously with his upcoming show Anansi Bays. The two shoot within throwing distance of each other, but are both time-consuming endeavours.
"If I could go back in time, I would go back to 16 September 2020, when Douglas Mackinnon (co-producer) and I got the phone call from the Amazon bigwigs to say, "We have
good news for you and interesting news for you," Gaiman recalls. "'The good news is we are greenlighting both Good Omens and Anansi Boys. The interesting news is you are going to have to do them both at the same time.'
"I would go back to then and I would throw myself on the call and say, 'Neil, don't! This is unwise.' That we are doing them both together is great. The amount of sleep I am not getting is monumental and monstrous.
"It's a little bit like childbirth, in that I managed to forget all the things that drove me nuts about the first one. Having said that, I managed to fix all the things that really drove me nuts making season one which is great. We just have a whole new set of problems making season two."

Excerpt
It was a dark and foggy night. The Bentley’s headlights cast long shadows across the withered trees as the car sped along the winding road. They’d been driving for quite some time, several hours at least. The Bentley’s boot was full of new acquisitions from a particularly lucrative estate auction. Aziraphale had even managed to secure a copy of ‘Magia Naturalis’ with only the assistance of a very minor, some would perhaps say frivolous, miracle. Crowley remained sceptical of Aziraphale’s motives; he worried that the angel was looking to restart his magic act. The terrain became less familiar the longer Crowley drove. “We’re lost, aren’t we?” Aziraphale said from the passenger seat. “I don’t get lost, angel,” Crowley snapped, glancing down at his phone to see a complete lack of any signal. He couldn’t help but notice the date though. “31st of October, of course it’s bloody Halloween.” “All Hallows Eve… we are lost on the spookiest night of the year!” Aziraphale huffed, holding on for dear life as the car jerked to the left around a sharp bend in the road. Aziraphale’s corporation lurched into Crowley with an audible oof. The blur of trees suddenly stopped and revealed a dark expanse. Up ahead, a tiny golden light stood out amidst the sea of black. As the Bentley’s engine roared down the road, the headlights illuminated a lone manor house. “Crowley,” Aziraphale said, his voice suddenly urgent. “Stop the car!”

What @daria-meoi said! It has to be misdirection from Neil. The evidence onscreen is that the Bentley changes in a LOT of ways. The hubcaps change. The number of door handles and functional doors changes. The TEXTURE of the door interior changes right along with the color, and that has nothing to do with lighting:

Also, no matter how much I overexpose this photo, I can't make those seats look anything other than black:

Compare with shots from before Azi's trip to Edinburgh, also over exposed:

The textual evidence on the screen is that the seat colors change.
And so does the texture of the door interior, the hubcaps, the number of doors and door handles, the exterior Bentley color... I have lots more pics of the mid-season transformation here!
I think we're in the middle of his magic act, and like any good magician, Neil is misdirecting the willing among the audience / fandom. The surprises in s3 are going to be unbelievable 🤩
Neil Gaiman are you trolling us about the Bentley's seat color and missing bullet holes? 😭 The fandom is obsessing over this and I accidentally caught some secondhand obsession over the differences. Anyway love you so much, thanks
No. I checked with Sarah-Kate, our producer, who told me that there were different seat covers in the shell-Bentley interior to match the correct Bentley exterior with the correct seats, and that any changes in seat cover from shot to shot is probably just a result of the grading process. On the bullet holes, she reckons that the window was probably wound down.
