Stray part 4

During this gameplay I went through the Sewers and this place was suspenseful. I had to leave Momo behind to continue on in the sewers by myself and it was covered in a fleshy substance I’ve seen before and there were a lot of Zurk around in eggs. There were also some really creepy things on the walls halfway through, it was so gross. I took my time exploring every inch which took up the 2 hours that I had time to play. I found a few memories and eventually made it out to the Antvillage. Here is what happened.

I started back in the Slums where I left off by the Guardian. I didn’t have anything else left to do, so I went toward the sewers tot he left and came across a robot, Benzoo, said that Momo was waiting for me on his boat, but he was going to close the door and it won’t open again since they didn’t want Zurk to get in. I had collected everything I needed to, so I went through.

I went down a long hallway to find Momo on his boat, which was more of a raft by a small half cabin. He said he couldn’t believe I found Doc and got the Defluxor, but now we could go and find Zbaltazar. So we set off.

Momo paddled through a tunnel and we were in the Sewers. The water was like a green sludge and was gross. I couldn’t do anything and just stood there as Momo paddled down the tunnel.

We eventually got to a gate that wasn’t open and Momo didn’t know how to open it and asked for me to take a look on the other side. So I went through the bars to the otherside.

I ended up on the other side where the walls and part of the floor were covered in what looked like flesh. On the wall was a switch that I had to pull but there were Zurk eggs in the way. If I went near them they would pop and a bunch of Zurk would come out. But I could also use the defluxor to pop them from afar. So I did that and ran while it reset so I could kill them. Then I pulled the switch to open the gate and Momo paddled through.

I joined Momo back on the raft and we went through the rest of the tunnel where there was a big door. Momo got out and tried the computer to open the gate but it wouldn’t work. He would have to open it manually.

I went down on a barrel in the water and Momo said that I would have to go on without him. But he will not stop looking for a way out. He said to tell Zbaltazar and Clementine he was brave. So I went through the small opening that Momo had created and as soon as I went through the door closed.

I went through and was in a new area and it was covered in viney flesh ropes, it was disgusting and everywhere.

I went down a side corridor and was going to turn away because it was a dead end but found out I could jump up into an opening. I followed it out to where there were a lot of storage tanks along with another memory. B-12 said that this was the sewer system. Clean water used to be scarce so the city upgraded to hug machinery to dig out the clean water, but it was rationed out during the drought. The scientist had shown him the blueprints and the tanks are huge enough to fit a house in it. (Sewers Memory #1)

I went back and ended up in a big room with stairs and walkways, I could see Zurk in the background. I had to use the pipes below to get across and to a room where I found a bunch of Zurk eggs. There was a switch that I had to pull but when I did the eggs all hatched and the door opened letting even more Zurk in and I died. I also got an achievement because I died 9 times. lol. I tried again, this time getting rid of all the eggs first before pulling the switch and opening the door ready for the ones behind it.

I ran through the door and down some stairs and had to outrun some Zurk that came flooding out. I then came across another open area with the fleshy stuff on the floor and walls but there were now EYES on the wall too. So gross! When I raced through they looked at me and would get all mad. Creepy.

I dropped down onto some pipes and found a way around to jump to other pipes. It was kind of hidden but I used a guide to make sure I didn’t miss it. It was a room full of those fleshy stuff and eyeballs. There was a memory here as well. B-12 said that this substance grows where the Zurks are but it doesn’t know what it’s made of. It’s like it’s alive. It asked if they were inside an organism and said it was frame chilling. (Sewers Memory #2)

I went back and this time followed the rest of the pipe to a new room that had sewer rivers in between. There were eggs every where and I could see a big door with a digicode at the end that I had to get to. I learned from last time to just get rid of the Zurk first, so I spent a lot of time just popping them and getting rid of them. Then I went to unlock the door and all the eyes on the wall opened.

 Once the door was open I went through and there were a lot of Zurk that came from crevasses, so I had to avoid them as I ran up stairs and over sewer water. Eventually I got to a place with huge eye balls and I had to run through as they saw me and started sending Zurk my way. It got to a point where a cut scene showed the Stray being cornered by a bunch of Zurk. B-12 started using the defluxor on all of them until it overheated and fell to the floor. So the cat picked it up and ran.

I was back in control and had to run through hallways and bridges while trying to outrun the Zurk coming after me from behind and from other places. I just had to avoid them since B-12 was out of commission. I eventually made it to a big door that started closing so I had to race toward it and went under just as it closed and I was safe. 

I put B-12 on the floor and pawed at it a few times before it started working again. It said it had felt like it had been back in the network, it was so dark and it thanked me for saving it. It then said that using that much power damaged its core and the defluxor was destroyed. So we can’t use it anymore.

I continued on down the pathway that luckily didn’t have anymore of the flesh walls or eyes and used the digicode to stop the fans that were on the wall. I could then go through the blades and down the tunnel out of the sewers.

I then made it out and was confronted by a robot near the entrance of the new place. He said that they hadn’t seen a traveler from the sewers in a long time. He had also already heard about me and said that Zbaltazar the Outsider was waiting for me at the top of the village.

I then could walk out to the new place called the Antvillage. It looked like a giant treehouse with different levels and I had to go to the top to find Zbaltazar.

I went across the bridge and came across one of those chamber machines and B-12 started talking. It said that the scientist it assisted uses one of these when he was stick. It was his last hope. He had walked into the machine but it hadn’t been there. The scientist had then uploaded himself into the computer and something went wrong.

He had been stuck in the computer for hundreds of years...until a cat appeared. B-12 then realized that the scientist was him. He had been human. He was in such disbelief that he needed a moment. (Main Memory #3)

I came across some robots and even a memory spot but B-12 didn’t want to translate at the moment, so I had to move on.

I made it half way up and B-12 came out and wondered what else he had forgotten. He must have had parents and friends and wondered what happened to them. He had wanted to open the city but was it worth it when there was no one to save?

I made it up to the top and found Zbaltazar who was connected to a bunch of monitors. When I came up to him all of them turned on and Zbaltazar said he had gotten a call earlier from Momo so he knew all about me. He knew I had helped Momo and found Doc. He missed them and they were a good memory for him.

Zbaltazar said that Momo had stayed in the Slums and I helped find Doc and Clementine had continued on and was now in Midtown. If I still wanted to go Outside, I had to find her, she could help me. He then gave me a picture of Clementine with her address on it. I had to keep going up higher on the village to reach Midtown.

After Zbaltazar went back to meditating, B-12 apologized for shutting down earlier, he had needed time. He had been human, probably the last one in the world and this was all that was left of him. His memory was starting to come back to him now, but how much had he forgotten. Maybe if they find Clementine she could restore his memories and get me home.

I decided to stop there for now since it seemed like a good place. I made it through the sewers which were so creepy and gross especially with those eyes. I’m glad I don’t have to go back in there. And now I’ve met Zbaltazar who looks like he had given up on going Outside and now I have to just look for Clementine in Midtown. But I’ll do that next time. Until then. Happy Gaming!
