A grin formed on his face after he had stepped out of his dressing room and saw YN in the distance, her back surrounded by three bodyguards, the backstage pass dangling around her neck. She grinned as well as soon as she spotted him, and her feet started to carry her faster over to him—until she ran down the hallway and flew into his arms. Harry had already awaited her, arms widely opened, knees slightly bent, and now wrapped one arm around her back while the other steadied her butt as she wrapped both legs around his waist.

“Hey, love,” he whispered into her cheek and pressed several kisses to the soft skin. “I’m so, so, so proud of you,” Harry could hear her whisper into his neck, feeling her arms hugging his neck and shoulders closer. “Thank you, love.”

He felt his heart flutter and tears of pure joy forming in his eyes. He knew that this would’ve never been possible without her by his side, without her constant support and love, and the way she always built him up again if something didn’t work out. She gave him the strength to do this, to try new things, even though they might could turn into the worst nightmare. She had helped him build his career further and further because she always had his back—during every late homecoming because he needed to finish that one recording in the studio, during every breakdown because he got overwhelmed, during every press or paparazzi storm he had to stand through.

YN had always been there for him, loving expression on her beautiful face and open arms in which he could sink and hide if he needed to. She had been his everything from the first moment on, and now, they shared this too—just like they would share a lot more that was coming their way.

“Pretty girl,” he whispered to coax her face from his neck, and the singer smiled his bright smile as she finally leaned their foreheads together, legs still tightly wrapped around him. “There she is.” YN smiled at his words, and without loosing another second, she dove right into the long-awaited kiss—relished in the feeling of his soft, perfect lips on hers, of his strong, large hand wandering from her back to the back of her head to hold her in place, and in the familiar but nonetheless still exciting taste of his kisses.

The couple parted with labored breaths but leaned their foreheads together again. YN gently let the tip of her nose run along his nose and peppered his handsome face with kisses. “You were great—as usual,” she grinned after they had opened their eyes and Harry had let her stand on the ground again. “Glad you enjoyed it. What about the outfit?” He wiggled his brows, and YN giggled before pulling his face back down to her. “I will show you how much I adored said outfit when we get home,” she mumbled against his lips in a teasing tone, letting a low growl rumble out of his chest and laughing softly into their next kiss. “Can’t wait for that show.” His voice was as deep as it could get, and a delicious chill ran down her spine.

Jeff cleared his throat behind Harry’s back, and YN chuckled again before letting her fiancé go. “Ready to take those pictures, handsome?” She asked, and Harry laced their fingers together and raised her intertwined hands to his lips to kiss it. “With you? Always.”

harrystyles I am beyond grateful for this milestone in my career. And it’s only possible because I have people who always support, love, and cherish me. Starting with my fans and family and ending with my gorgeous fiancée, who is always there and keeps my compass on track.

I love your ideas about barchies wedding!! I’ve always pictured them as eloping too, I always imagined they’d do it pretty much as soon as they get engaged because Betty would struggle to deal with the “pressure” of planning a wedding with Kevin and Veronica in her ear (because they’re both the type to want on over the top wedding so would get overexcited about planning one) and the expectations Alice would have of the day and all events leading up to it. Then Archie would just want to be married to Betty but wouldn’t care about “a wedding”. I could imagine the reactions after would be super mixed too. Jughead and Tabitha would be happy for them, although Jughead would be shocked and maybe a little bitter initially. Cheryl and Toni would also be happy for them. Reggie would be happy too, I think Kevin would be happy for them but slightly annoyed he wasn’t in on the secret. Veronica I think would say she was happy but probably have a bit of a meltdown too. Alice I think would be furious and Mary would be happy for them but hurt she wasn’t invited or included.

I agree with all of this and the assessments of the characters reactions! But in reality, I can see it going like this:

One night, Betty walks home angry and upset because she spent the entire day having her wedding planned for her. Her mom booked a Church venue without even asking (when she’s stated she’s not religious) and Veronica booked her an appointment to wedding dress shop at Kleinfelds in NYC (also not her vibe). Kevin is trying his best but also sending her a million wedding TikTok trends and she’s overwhelmed.

“Arch, let’s just elope, I’m over it,” she says jokingly, throwing the comforter over her head.

“Okay, let’s go to the courthouse tomorrow,” he replies, completely serious.

Betty peeks her eyes out. “Baby, I was joking.”

“I know, but let’s do it. Your mom’s driving you crazy, Veronica and Kevin are driving you crazy. I don’t want us stressed on our wedding day. I want it to be us, promising the rest of our lives to each other. That’s all I care about. Let’s go in the morning and get married.”

They decide to go for it. Betty slips on an old white sundress with pink flowers, Archie wears a suit. Since Riverdale is a small town, they wake up early and head straight to the court house. But as they are sitting and waiting for their time slot, Betty notices Archie looks a little off (it’s evident since she knows him better than anyone). Worried she asks him if he’s okay.

“I’m thinking of dad,” he says in a small voice. “I just wish he was here.”

Betty puts her head on his shoulder. As she does, it hits her. Fred isn’t there. But their mothers are still alive. And so many of their friends still live in their town. Even Polly is back. Though their family is difficult, time is precious and it may be worth inviting everyone in for the most important moment of their lives.

“I don’t want to elope,” Betty suddenly says, standing up. “Arch, this isn’t what you wanted. You always said weddings give people something to celebrate, something good to fight for. We should have our family and friends here.”

Archie looks at her confused. “It’s okay, Betty. I just want to marry you. And I want to do it today.”

“Oh we’re getting married today,” Betty says, walking closer to him. She cups his face with both her hands. “I said I didn’t want to elope here. I have a plan.”

They get their marriage license from the court house but don’t say their vows. They rush out and within a few hours, they get the word out to everyone. Tabitha brings food from Pop’s and Cheryl brings flowers from the grounds of Thornhill (picked by Britta). Veronica, though disappointed, still makes Betty go to the local dress shop and buy something off the rack (if not Kleinfeld, she still won’t stand for Betty to get married in a sundress). Toni whips out her old camera and agrees to be the photographer. Alice and Mary are in shock but grateful to be invited and agree to help with the set up.

Later that night, after dark, they get married in Archie’s backyard under the glow of string lights and with their closest friends and family watching. Though the whole town isn’t present, it gives everyone there a reason to celebrate and fight for good.

They eat burgers drink beers from six packs in lieu of a sit down dinner and drink a strawberry shake with two straws as their wedding cake. All night, they dance to a music slightly fuzzy from Kevin’s blown out stereo; Bingo runs in circles during their first dance on the back patio, everyone watching with teary eyes. At the end of the night, everyone “sends them off” in the Jalopy (Archie drives down the street, stops the car to kiss Betty passionately, and then turns around and drives straight back to their house).

For their rest of their lives, they say it’s the perfect wedding. No amount of months or years could’ve planned a better one.

The Evans-Ramsey Children

Since I recently introduced Brooklyn and Charlie's kids, I figured I would reintroduce Claire and Adelaide's kids.

Oliver Jonah Ramsey:

Born on August 13th 2022

Found out about a year after their wedding

They decided on the name Oliver as it was the name of one of Claire and Adelaide’s childhood best friends who they haven’t seen in years. Ethan was also hesitant on having their son with the same middle name as him but Claire insisted.

They decided to only use Ethan’s last name as Claire only uses hers for work (which may change soon for reasons that will be revealed later).

When he grows up, Oliver attends NYU (Claire’s Alma Mater) and studies photography. He then becomes a professional wedding photographer and eventually photographs his parents' vow renewal.

He resides in Los Angeles

He ends up marrying his childhood best friend, Claire (Adelaide and Tobias’ daughter), and they go on to have two daughters.

Sienna Mae Ramsey:

Born on February 19, 2024

They chose to name her from the most important people in her life (besides Claire) which is why they used Sienna for her first name and Mae for her middle (Adelaide’s middle name is Mae). Both Sienna and Adelaide cried over it

When she grows up, Sienna goes to UCLA to study film and direct movies. 

She mainly resides between NYC and London but she does visit her parents as often as possible.

She marries her college girlfriend Maya, they then have two boys (through ivf)

Addison Grace Ramsey:

Born on December 31, 2026

I HC that one of Ethan’s friends from HS was a girl named Addison, who ended up moving away without Ethan being able to contact her. He then found her years later when she was admitted to EB when Ethan was a second year resident. She ended up passing away not long after and he told Claire about it, who recommended they name their daughter after her.

When she grows up, Addison goes to Julliard and becomes a big actress. During her early years of acting she’s mentored by Brooklyn Moore. 

She mostly lives in Los Angeles and Boston but she also visits Italy and France a lot.

She marries her high school sweetheart, Aspen, and they have one boy.

Naveen Alan Ramsey:

Born on October 21, 2030

Since they knew that he was going to be their last one (Claire made Ethan get a vasectomy), they decided to name him after Naveen and Ethan’s father, as they are the most important people in their family’s lives.

When he grows up, Naveen goes to Johns Hopkins (Ethan’s Alma Mater) to study medicine and become a doctor.

He does his residency at Edenbrook before transferring to Mass Kenmore

While he mainly resides in Boston, he also has places in Amsterdam and Greece.

He marries one of his fellow doctors from residency, Grace and they have two girls and a boy.

We’ve had such fun NYC-y moments lately! 

1) Our friend invited us to Queens the other night for Thai food, but we first stopped at this new secret cocktail bar he’d heard about. We were the only people there, so I started talking to the owner purely to not make him awkwardly stand around with nothing to do. Well, seven hours later, we were still at the bar, the owner had been making up new cocktails for us and then topping them off over and over again, his husband came up and also became our best friend, a deaf guy came in and I asked him if he’d seen the deaf guy episode of “Dahmer” because I was drunk but then he also became our best friend, J left to go get takeout with the owner’s husband and can’t remember how he managed to order anything, and I remembered later that I threw up in the bathroom at some point but am not sure if it was before or after the takeout. Good times!

2) We early voted, and I look absolutely terrible in this photo, but look how pretty the city looks behind us. I really hate having to go to bed so early so I can wake up early when I’m a natural night owl, but our morning walks just get the day going so perfectly.

3) We went to Staten Island to visit our friend’s favorite Spanish restaurant. The picture above is of the tapas platter J and I got. It was amazing. That’s all.

4) J and I shot a wedding reception on Saturday deep in Brooklyn, and it was mostly Irish people who had actually come over from Ireland for the party. They got SO excited when the DJ played Chumbawamba. 😂 I wore my Chuck Taylors that day for the first time in a LONG time to see if I wanted to bring them on our next vacation, but they’re too small and ended up hurting me. So on our walk home from the subway to our place, we stopped at a shoe store and got me bigger ones. And I don’t know, it just felt really New York-y to me. Walking from the subway, passing by a store that you can just pop into because you’re walking, carrying all of my camera gear because we’re photographers. I don’t know if that makes sense. But I liked it.

We’re leaving for that trip tonight with my new shoes! It’s TWO AND A HALF WEEKS in Europe. What kind of person am I that I had the guts to ask for more than two weeks off from work?! We totally just did it on a whim because J’s parents were going to Poland. So yes, I’m taking an 8-hour flight to Poland with my in-laws tonight. Pray for me.

Juan Casanova is an NYC based wedding photographer that I covered for my post about a photographer I like at the start of the semester. I chose him for my influence project for similar reasons, because the way he gets natural looking photojournalist style photos out of his shoots is captivating and I find this project a valuable opportunity to try and learn more about that side of portrait photography. With these photos I tried to use “prompts” instead of poses, and left them open to interpretation to allow the subjects to move in ways they thought natural.
