Speaking of "filling up" the FMA....
Look at the difference between BJU's Bible conference and PCC's.
Enrollment is bad at ol' 29614, folks.

Lolol sometimes it’s so funny reading peoples posts about “Mormon” theology that is based on Exmo stories, tradition/culture but not doctrine, and like random statements by some church leader 200 years ago that was not put into doctrine/canonized, or that he was corrected/reprimanded on, and all of us look back on like “well that guy was racist/sexist. Anyways moving on…” like tbh it just makes me laugh. Like I know our theology is a bit different than mainstream Christianity but y’all don’t need to make it sound like we are out here truly believing half the stuff you say about us.

If you're Christians, why do people call you "Mormons"?
The nickname "Mormon" comes from our use of the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ as scripture in addition to the Bible. Sadly, it was a name that was originally used as a slur by people who didn't understand (or didn't want to understand) the true nature of the Book of Mormon or the true nature of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ("The Correct Name of the Church").
The Church tried to reclaim the nickname for a while about twenty years ago to make it easier for people to look up online, but still only as a nickname, and never changed the name of the Church- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, it seemed like this reclaiming of the nickname only brought more confusion, so in 2018, the current prophet and President of the Church Russel M. Nelson gave a talk announcing we would no longer use "Mormon" as a descriptor for the Church or its people. As he said in the talk, "...We are not Mormon’s disciples. We are the Lord’s disciples." ("The Correct Name of the Church").
So, long story short- The incorrect nickname "Mormon" comes from our use of The Book of Mormon, which is scripture in addition to the Bible that testifies of Jesus Christ, and we are actually Christians because we worship and love Jesus Christ as our Savior, and do our best to follow Him!

Preventing Tragedy Like Cain and Abel
Scripture Foundation:
"Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.'" – Genesis 4:6–7
"In your anger do not sin." – Ephesians 4:26
"Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." – James 1:19
Holy God,
We reverence You as the One who sees the heart and warns us before destruction. You are the loving Father who corrects us before we fall. In the name of Jesus, we cry out for Your protection over our families from the spirit of murder that consumed Cain.
We rebuke the demon of jealousy that led Cain to kill his brother Abel when You accepted Abel’s offering but not his own (Genesis 4:8).
In the name of Jesus, we destroy every altar of comparison and competition in our families. We tear down strongholds of anger and resentment that grow into hatred, bitterness, and violence.
We come against the spirit of rejection that makes family members feel unloved, unaccepted, or overlooked.
We renounce the lie that there isn’t enough blessing to go around—that one person’s success means another’s loss.
But Jesus, You are the God of acceptance and abundant grace!
Help our families celebrate each other’s victories instead of feeling threatened by them. Teach us that Your blessings are limitless and Your love is never in short supply.
Give parents wisdom to love their children without favoritism. Help siblings to be each other’s biggest encouragers instead of rivals.
Where jealousy seeks to take root, plant seeds of genuine affection and unity.
We declare that our families will be marked by encouragement, not envy.
We will build each other up instead of tearing each other down. Jesus, let love rule in our hearts so that anger never escalates to violence or permanent division.
In Jesus’ protective name, Amen.

Mormonism's Legacy of Slavery
The history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in the 19th century is marked by moments of conflict, migration, and the formation of a new religious identity in the American frontier. LDS leaders suggest that early Latter-day Saints were persecuted for being abolitionists or for holding enlightened racial views, meanwhile, the historical record presents a more…

The Central Thought of Peter's Epistles & the Entire Scripture is Life and Building
The central thought of Peter’s Epistles and of the entire Scripture is life and building, and life is nothing else but the Triune God in Christ as the Spirit dispensing Himself into us to produce the building, the church as the Body of Christ. Hallelujah! This week we come to the topic of, Life and Building in Peter’s Epistles. In the epistles of Peter we see God’s government and God’s economy…

The BJU Bible Conference Schedule has been up for several weeks now. There are two big things that are noticeable:
All but two of the speakers are local -- very local. And Tim Potter and Dave Doran are pretty much regulars. Doran spoke last Bible Conference too.
And more shockingly.... There's no Jones on the playbill!
What's up, BJU?

Today Lord Jesus! Speak to me so that my direction is very clear. Have me to do what you want me to do. Heaven and Earth shall fade away but your word will stand for ever.
We Can do better!

Responding to Robin Schumacher’s Critique: Joseph Smith’s First Vision and Apostolic Parallels
Robin Schumacher’s op-ed comparing Joseph Smith to the Apostle Paul raises a familiar yet thought-provoking question: can Joseph’s First Vision truly align with Paul’s divine encounter? For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this discussion touches on fundamental beliefs about prophecy, revelation, and the foundation of their faith. Critics often challenge the First…
