Ellie has a recurring nightmare.
In it, the world is blue-black with shadow. A figure swings down with something blunt and she has to watch, choking on screams, as the Joel dies violently in front of her. The whole time, she’s pleading with him to get up, to open his eyes, to stay with her. He never does.

Idea ror my "Blue/Black" faction for my mtg "fan plane".
The Apocalypse Library, a guild specializing in storage, study, and disposal of ancient super-weapons and newer "dangerous tech", as well as the deployment of these fabled weapons as a last-resort in defense of the Armoured Cities.
The scientists very much defend the Armoured Cities because they live there too, damn it.
Their "mechanic" is "-1/-1 counters", which no other faction gets, representing their weirdness.
Blue cards focus more on "incremental" spreading, black cards focus removal, while the multi-coloured cards reward you for killing your opponent's stuff.
