Recently, I saw this secret on simsecret. I can't relate to it entirely since I only play events on Sims 4 and I keep it unmodded because I'm lazy. But I relate to it in a different way:
Every time I get pumped up about this save the game welcomes me with bugs, glitches and persistent crashes. And by the time I resolve all the issues I lost my zest to continue playing so I take a break and the cycle continues.
This time I had a shader glitch which wasn't because of anything I've installed recently. However, I still went through all my custom shaders and made sure they're installed properly. Then I started testing different scenarios. Something was wrong with simeyes shader for outdoors so all my sims looked like aliens sometimes with all whites with no irises.
After testing, it occurred to me that it might be caused by the proton version I was using. I'm on linux so I use Steam to run my game and proton is the steam's version of the compatibility layer that makes games run in a non-windows environment.
But I also use custom builds for proton and I like my stuff bleeding-edge, so I update my proton whenever a new version is released. But new is not always better. And in this case, I had to downgrade to an older version to make the shaders work properly. Which is not a big deal.
As soon as I put this matter to rest, another issue creeped out of the shadows and said 'hello'. And I cannot find a solution to it.
I sent Quixote to Halley. Just like how I played both siblings with Bodhi and Satori, in different worlds in the same save, I imagined doing so with these ones as well.
Normally, you can switch between two or more worlds using NRaas Traveler, removing the sim from the list before clicking ok. This will send you to the world you want to visit without a sim and upon arrival you will just choose a household or return to game if there's an active household.
But a blank screen welcomes me with this method which was working previously, and now somehow broken. But one of these days my brain has worked overtime and I decided to hit hotkeys and F5 as usual brings up the Options Menu and when you click on the 3 dots, black screen goes away and you end up in the world you visit.
Before this workaround I had to use a placeholder sim to visit both worlds which was extra work and an inconvenience. This issue resolved, but there is even more.
Now, Bismarck wants to invite foreign visitors but they never arrive. But, hey you can use MC Invite Over but these sims never appear under the Homeworld filter or without any filter.
Nraas Chatterbox says that some custom worlds come without unique IDs so they are incompatible with NRaas Traveler. Halley comes with CAW files so I load the world in CAW, gave it a new ID, did lot addresses and redid the unroutable area entirely, named it Crimson Basin and exported it as a new world.
Guess what, Crimson Basin can see everyone in Halley and in Fayne Island which is my main world but Fayne Island still can't see the sims in Crimson Basin. But at least, Bismarck's foreign visitor could finally visit, so that's improvement.
I know nobody will read this; but if you did, I hope it's helpful to you in some way.

Bodhi Linux…
My old Celeron netbook now runs Bodhi / Moksha desktop. A light distribution based on Ubuntu. I find it better than other distros as it’s cuter, more responsive, and cohesive.
Went for my morning run under a cloud of telepathy, smothering much of my feel-good endorphins. At least I’m healthier -for now.
Didn’t do much room tidying yesterday as we were at the mall. Looking over the mess I pushed into a pile, I feel helpless and lost.
One thing to get done is washing my bunny-face duster, then sun it.

Keeping a copy and signal boosting.
For myself, I'm planning to switch to Linux, I've used Ubuntu in the past so I'm familiar. I have an old laptop I may switch out the HD and load a distro for practice before I do it for my main system. There's a cute little distro called Bodhi Linux I've been looking at.
Look up Distrowatch if you want to check out some Linux systems, they have the latest.
I got a laptop with Windows 11 for an IT course so I can get certified, and doing the first time device set-up for it made me want to commit unspeakable violence
Windows 11 should not exist, no one should use it for any reason, it puts ads in the file explorer and has made it so file searches are also web searches and this cannot be turned off except through registry editing. Whoever is responsible for those decisions should be killed, full stop.
Switch to linux, it's free and it's good.

Bodhi Linux 7 brings Enlightenment to Ubuntu

biggest plus is that it's lightweight and uses it's own toolkit (EFL), but the default theme flat theme is terrible, the network widget only works with connman, and many distros only package it as an afterthought. note that the only distros that actively support the DE (Bodhi Linux and Artix) are are aimed at Moksha rather than stock Enlightenment.
anyone else use the enlightenment/moksha desktop environment?

A very hot day…
My Arip jab went quick in, clean out. Not to say painless but merciful. In late May, I have a blood test. Will have to run or long walk tomorrow as today isn’t possible. I just worked out a bit at 6am. Mom has a liver scan and Dad has diarrhea. We may have nasi lemak again tonight with canned beef curry. Rice cooked in coconut cream.
Dad lost his Decathlon sunglasses so I gave him my Oakleys. Not sure if it’s a good idea but he should wear something nice once in a lifetime. They are the best.
The Bodhi Linux / Kabini rig from 2014 is set up well in our back room and I am running some tests on it to see if I can rely on it as my main python development station. Seems to suspend / wake okay. Modules installing etc.
Intrigue blows in from the UK, where I sense a power struggle among the elite and royalty. I was manhandled this morning for no particular reason. American mindspace is gradually heating up (more) since yesterday. I gave out seals and amulets but many are dead to Christ already.
