One thing I do really like is that they set up so clearly how Jentry associates “normalcy” with good things throughout the whole show by having the majority of her experiences with the supernatural be overwhelmingly negative. We come to see how she associates the supernatural with being endangered, manipulated, and socially ostracized through basically all of the plot. Anytime something supernatural helps her it’s pretty much always to solve a problem caused by the supernatural. It’s nice to see a protagonist of this sort of hidden world urban fantasy have opinions on all the incredibly dangerous situations they keep getting into.

honestly I’m a lil surprised there aren’t more Ruben Hopclap posts circulating around here. He’s a tiny emo, he likely tried to get the protagonists in trouble by turning into an old man and offering them drugs, his go-to phrase to get out of a situation is “I’m getting mobbed for autographs”, even when he’s in an enclosed area with one other person, his main praise for Lucy Frostblade was that she “stuck to her guns” in the face of a dead god of rage and conquest that held allegiance as the price for escaping an eternal purgatory that he and the rest of his adventuring party chose to pay, and he’s the lead in fantasy My Chemical Romance.

hey guys im not going to get into the copyright issues or what constitutes art (personally i think art is when something is presented with the intention of being appreciated aesthetically or prompting emotion or thought) because that's a lot more based on personal ideology and stuff, but I will let y'all know that item b is a little more nuanced?

ai training and the like do use quite a bit of energy, and studies show that a single ChatGPT query uses around 3 watt-houts, ten times more than the average google search. however, the average one person (usamerican) household uses 20.11 kilo-watt hours per day, so if we say, asked ChatGPT to write our history essay for us (don't do this, ChatGPT is more often than not a source of misinformation), that would be about 0.015% of our average daily energy usage. this post and this article here put the numbers more in perspective.

data centers (not specifically ones that host ai models) use 1.5% of global energy at most so if ai is going to destroy the planet it's certainly not going to be the only thing destroying the planet.

AI people: we're just as much artists as you are, you gotta be so observant and go through so many correcting phases for the picture to look good uwu also AI people:

one of my fave things about spiders is how they walk. theyre so thoughful and melodical about every step and i think thats really cute. they pause when they're unsure and approach everything with this poise about them.

from the perspective of my engineering degree, its also really cool how they move their legs using hydraulics of their own haemolymph (bug blood).

they also have little toe beans. thats also great.

also I’ve never used ai art in my life, and write and draw on my own recreationally. form labour movements not new IP laws.

ai generated images make me increasingly sad and tired the more i see them in more and more casual contexts. i dont know how to explain, but it just fills the world with a bunch of nothing. no matter how visually stunning the pictures might be, there's nothing behind it for me. no dedication, no emotions, no feelings, no hard work or creativity, nothing i can truly think about, admire or enjoy. i dont think thats how art is supposed to be
