Had a bunch of pictures of these gorgeous Red-tailed Hawks on my trail camera. A local family of crows were BIG fans of the leftover Halloween pumpkins I carried down there and I think the hawks were either trying to grab one of them (they always showed up while the crows were there; see the time stamps on the photo of the crows flying away and the next one of the hawk) or just thought they might be eating something...tastier, haha. The hawks still inspected the pumpkins carefully each time before deciding they weren’t for them and flying away.
I love watching juvenile hawks discover the world around them. For example, this adorable Red-Tail kid having their mind seemingly blown by a woodpecker in the branches overhead.
