言いたいこと 最近はCAT6Aでフラットケーブルが登場してるが、あれ全部ゴミだ 30mぐらいまであるけどマジゴミ。 買う価値なし。 ゴミは置いといても、LANケーブルには「準拠」と「対応」があるらしい。区別して使うべし 長い文章（読み飛ばしてよい） CAT6Aで施工指示したのに5Eになってたと言う記事を読んで思い出したので吐き出しておく。 大手OAサプライヤで売っている完成品LANケーブル。これもCAT6Aが標準になってきて久しい。5Eのものはほぼ見られなくなった。 その中でフラットケーブルと言われるものが売られている。 通常LANケーブルというのは、細い線が何本か寄り合わされて、さらに保護用のチューブに入れられた構造だ。なので断面が丸いケーブルが普通である。 それを、丸くまとめるのではなく一直線に横に並べ固めたものがある。これをフラットケーブルという。また見かけから「きしめんケーブル」などとも呼ぶ人がいる。 平たくしているので幅は広くなっているがケーブルが薄くなる。これでドアの隙間などを通しやすく、面外方向に曲げやすくなり、またカーペットなどの下に入れることができて便利、両面テープなど気楽に壁配線ができて便利、と言う事で売られている。 が がである。あいつらたぶんまともにスペック検査してない。CAT6Aの性能 ワイ、諸事情あって有線LANを引くことにしたん。この時、ドアの隙間を通すためにフラットケーブルを選んだ。 1F玄関にある電話機置場に置いてあるルータから、階段を垂直に登って2階に行き、その上の 物置 仕事部屋まで配線した。 最初は余裕を持って20m を購入して仮配線した。すると接続ができたので、そのまま使っていたのだが、有線LANにしたのにあんまり安定した感じがしない。 おかしいなと思いPCを確認すると有線接続したのに無線LANで接続している。無線LANを切ると、何か無茶苦茶重い。無線LANより重い。それどころか通信が切れるときがある。 仕事部屋側に設置しているハブを確認すると、フラットケーブルで配線したポートが2.5Gbpsどころか、10/100Mbpsでのリンクになっていた。なんでや！ 最初に疑ったのはハブだ。ケーブルを差し替えてみる。すると、ハブの中で完結している他の通信はちゃんと2.5Gbpsまたは1Gbpsで接続がされる。しかし、フラットケーブルにした所はだめ。 抜き差しすると最初1Gbpsでリンクするのだが、少しすると10/100Mbpsでのリンクになってしまう。 次いで、そのフラットケーブルを直接PCへつないでみた。そしてプロパティを見ると、リンク速度が100Mbpsしか出ていない。相手側の接続口を買えても変わらない。 ここで、LANケーブルが不良品を引いちゃったと言う結論に至り、また今度は配線の結果を確認して15m のフラットケーブルを再購入した。 しかし、同じ症状が再現した。 この結果、LANケーブルが原因ではないと判断した。だってそうだろ？国内有名メーカー製のCAT6Aフラットケーブルが、早々何本もエラーになるなんて考えないだろ。 他の機材の関係かと思い、更に色々とチェックして回ったのだが上手くいかない。 万策尽きたとき、そういえばと、どこのご家庭にでもある野外配線用極太CAT5Eケーブルドラム30mを引張り出してきてこれで配線してみた。すると、ちゃんと2.5Gbpsでリンクし、何時間たっても安定して通信しているのである！ フラットケーブル！お前か！ しかし、それでもまだフラットケーブルによるスマートな接続を諦めきれなかったワイは、ぎりぎりの配線長さを狙って、10mのフラットケーブルを注文して配線した。 結果、敗北した。ほぼ変わらずである。（1Gbpsで繋がってる時間は増えたが、いつの間にか100Mbpsに落ちてる） ワイは泣きながら普通の丸断面CAT 6A 単線ケーブル20mを注文し、正常にリンクできる事を確認した後、 タコ部屋 仕事部屋の入口を常に半開きにして線を通し、セルフ隙間風の中で一冬過ごしたのであった。 教訓 大事な所、6Aの性能が必要な所にフラットケーブルは使うな！ その後、メーカーのページをに行くと、以下の様なことを発見して愕然とする。 カテゴリの表示に「準拠」のあるなし 「CAT6A 準拠 フラットケーブル」 通常は「CAT6A LANケーブル」という表示 スペック表の書き方が違う フラットケーブルは、仕様の所にそもそも「規格」という欄が無い 通常のケーブルには「CAT6A 対応」と明確にあり、線の太さもAWG23と記載がある つまり、準拠とうたっているものはメーカが勝手にそう言っているだけで、実際にCAT6A規格通りできているわけではないと言うことだったのだ。 愕然とした。 これは一概に駄目とは言えないらしい。この話を詳しい人に聞いて回ったところ、以下の様な知見を得た。 CAT6Aケーブルは、内部の配線の太さやケーブルの構造まで指定されている。それにきちんと対応していないと厳密には「対応」とは言えない 同時にどれぐらいの信号が通せること、といったものが指定されており、業界的にそれをクリアしたものを「準拠」と呼ぶと言うローカルルール（？）があるらしい 短いケーブルなどでは100mを想定したフルスペックの構造でなくても信号を通す要件はクリアできる。これによって細いケーブルや取り回しの良いケーブルなどを出す事ができる これによって様々な需要を満たせるわけだ。 ところが、である。たまに使用している部材（線（ワイヤ）やコネクタなど）は個別それぞれ「準拠」だが、ケーブルアセンブリとして性能確認をしていないゴミが「準拠」として出回る事があるらしいのである。フラットケーブルは恐らくこれだ。 なお後輩に「CAT6Aでないと売れないから準拠で売ってるんだと思いますよ。なんで買っちゃったんですか？あなたプロですよね🤭」と煽られた。 また、 CAT5E「対応」とCAT6A「準拠」だと前者の方がケーブルそのものとしてはちゃんとしていることも良くある 柔らかい「準拠」ケーブルは20mまでしか売り物がないことがあるが、これは通せる信号の特性的にはぎりぎりだから。これをローゼットやメスメスコネクタなどでパッシブ延長するとブチブチ切れることがある 完成ケーブルを買ってきてほぼ固定配線で使うならば、多少太かろうが意識して「対応」ケーブルを選ぶと良い。メーカによっては明示してない場合があるが、その場合も、「単線」を選ぶと対応の方のケーブルにできる場合がある。（ただし短くても高い） 机などに出す時も、単線「対応」のケーブルで配線して、ローゼットで固定し、そこから取り回しのよい準拠ケーブルで配線するのはこのた��� だそうです。 なので、新築・改築などでLAN配線を業者に依頼すると言う方は、「全てCAT6A「対応」部材を使って配線し、テストまで行ってください」でお願いするのがベストだと思います。そうしないと結局意味ねえと言う事になるかも知れません。 また、こうやってお願いしておくと、固くて通しにくいCAT6A対応ケーブルを通せるようにPF管を通してくれると言うメリットもあるかもしれない。 あと、ワイが使った機材は業務用を使っていたため、シビアに通信状況をチェックしており、通信品質を最低限保つことを重視していると言うこともあるにはある。一般家庭用では発覚しない場合もあると思われる。 プロ（笑）からは以上です。
