i am actually genuinely so mad about how larian is going about things, on a professional level. i work as a software dev - when i put something out that is meant to be public ready, i make as sure are possible that there are no bugs. if there are any, i fix that asap, before adding anything on top of it bc 1) it disturbs user experience and 2) adding smth on top of a bugged foundation means at best u reproduce the bug, at worst U MAKE IT WORSE and then u have to untangle that

youd think this logic would go double for smth as complex as a video game but apparently its more important to [checks notes] make lae'zel nicer????

like im aware theyre... allegedly, considering what i hear of the state of the game post patch 6.0... fixing bugs. but by modifying/adding other things at the same time theyre actually creating or worsening more bugs than theyre fixing. and its. fucking stupid. and it makes me mad because its such basic logic that they're completely ignoring

one major difference i have found between service industry work (in my case food service but this is widely applicable to similar jobs) and other public-facing positions is that the job itself is often very similar because people is the same, it's just in service everyone approaches you already thinking they're right and you're a fucking idiot and its their god given right to disrespect you, where in other positions even if they are not nice to you they usually acknowledge that you know more than them on issues pertaining to your job. like the difference in behaviour from people who see you as serving them vs helping them is unreal. i am doing literally the exact same things. customer is always right mentality did irreparable damage to the fabric of society

I just want to say thank you to everyone who is or has interacted with Makoto in times or verses where he hasn't experienced The Horrors. I've been thinking of how irrevocably different things can get for him once things go south and MAN. There's just something about characters whose trauma happens during the story itself instead of being part of the backstory that hits different for me

edit: i love writing him going through The Horrors don't get me wrong I just also like it when he gets a break

Willow's a whirlwind of energy, constantly jumping from one thing to the next. This is undoubtedly intensified whenever they have an audience. So if you get Willow in front of people--be it working, with friends, or with their family--their whole vibe is cranked up to eleven. When they're alone, though, they're surprisingly subdued. Still driven by an intense passion, but a bit more thoughtful about it. Quieter. They're surprisingly capable, when they're not putting on a show.

37. What’s a secret they haven’t told serious romantic partners and don’t plan to tell?

I'm going to very specifically go with the MC here!! Eventually, the MC gets the chance to have conversations about what happens if they find a way to leave Easthaven. Would their RO go with them? The secret that Jay wouldn't tell them, and wouldn't want to tell them, is that Jay probably will never leave. Sure, they're curious about the outside world. Yes, they love MC, and don't want to lose them. But Easthaven is their home. Their family is there. Their work. Somewhere out in the woods their father's bones still rest. It would feel...wrong, to abandon it all. The idea of MC leaving without them breaks their heart...but they know they can't leave. Jay doesn't know how they'd tell the MC the truth, and they don't 't want to lie about it. So it's a conversation they try to avoid.
