Chapter 22 of Can You Hear My Heartbeat is up!

Summary:

Putting on a new costume for the first time is a holy ritual, at least in Viktor's opinion. So, when Yuuri's free skating costume is finished, Viktor decides that this must be celebrated appropriately—very much to Yuuri's dismay. But as it is, Yuuri neither stands a chance against Viktor's endless energy nor his charms.

Can You Hear My Heart? Last Episode (30). SPOILER ALERT.

ehmahgawd. I have just now finished all CYHMH drama. all 30 episodes. The ending is somewhat satisfying, everyone is happy! except one part… gradma died. gosh, I could not stop bawling I mean. when they were putting her away, Shin-Ae was really crying so hard you  could just not just not cry. Goodness, Korean dramas can definitely get to you! Tae Sook has gone to the good side and reconciled with her sons, Choi is finally paying for the wrongdoing and how he ends really just made me so sad. He’s alone but everyone will forgive him, just not at that the time. Joon Ha is back to being a doctor, it’s so sweet! He’s now back to his family he left 16 years ago & faced the fact that he will always be oppa & is now MA ROO!!!!! glorious. Sad Seung Chul is getting through the rejection sting but he’s now friends with Dong Joo since he is going to marry Woo Ri :) Though. unni Min Soo seems that she’s now going to get the hots for Seung Chul, I can dig it. Either way, Bong Young is now friends with Na Mi Sook, it’s so cute how she adores him besides the fact that he’s “handicapped" but everything about it is beautiful. Beautiful. I’m not going to spoil more, I just had an urge to say what I wanted about this ending… BUT, I AM SO HAPPY I FINISHED IT YEEEAHHH. it was good overall, Next drama? 1. You’re Beautiful & I will rewatch Boys Over Flowers sometime later to get my dosis of Lee Minho & Kim Hyung Joon, sexy babies. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL HEIRS COMES OUT. omg omg omg. i’ll dish about that sometime later.

For this year's NaNoWriMo I’ll be writing my third YOI fic!

Only two days left, then it’s that time of year again! National Novel Writing Month will start on Tuesday, and I’ll participate with the second sequel to “Can You Hear My Heartbeat”*. This fic will feature the season in which Yuuri and Viktor compete against each other.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been plotting and prepping for this. I created new programmes for each and every character and designed a story around them similar to how it’s done in the anime because I love what the creators did there. I had so much fun doing this because I got to research so many exciting things regarding figure skating—I was in nerd heaven! However, since Yuuri and Viktor are my only POV characters, most of this will happen in subplots.

I actually don’t want to give away much regarding the plot, but according to my 20k outline, this fic will be funny, steamy, romantic, include lots of figure skating drama, and, of course, husbands turning to rivals on the ice (there's a reason the current working title is “In Love and War”). Yuuri and Viktor will face new battles, but will also fight some old ones. Oh, and I can already tell this fic will be looong because I just can’t keep it short.

I’m super excited this is actually happening! I’ve been waiting for this since I started writing YOI fic in May 2021, but I had to write CYHMH first to get a sense of the characters and make myself familiar with figure skating. Plus, I’m a chronological writer, so I had to push the story forward to the beginning of the next figure skating season. (I’m a messy writer, too. Writing-wise, I must be ahead at least one fic from the fic I’m posting because I’m adding and refining things all the time, so that’s why only the first 15 chapters of CYHMH are out.)

I’ve participated in NaNoWriMo since 2014, but this is the first time I write YOI fanfic. If you’ll doing NaNoWriMo, too, I’d be delighted if we become writing buddies! Here’s the link to my profile.

Can You Hear My Heartbeat Chapter 25 is up!

Yuuri's encounter with the barrier at the Regionals had more consequences than he and Viktor could have fathomed…

“Is it only me, or is he taking his time?” Nishigori asked, staring at the changing room door. “The other athletes have already left. If this takes much longer, I must text Yuuko that we won’t be back before midnight.”

“Maybe he tries to avoid the press.” A frown of displeasure creased Minako’s brow as she spoke. “I really thought that his weekend he got over his social anxiety.”

That’s not Yuuri hiding from the press, Viktor thought as he hugged his plush Makkachin with a frown. Yuuri had been awkward during the interview before the competition, but his free skating had bestowed new confidence on him. He stared at the door as if his eyes could pierce through the material and see what was going on behind, pressing his tissue box to his chest.

“If he’s not here in five minutes―,” he started, but then the door opened and Yuuri stepped out in his black Team Japan wear, his dark hair an unruly mess that defied all the styling products that had gone into it before his skate. He had removed the cotton plugs, and his face wore an unusual pallor. He swayed as he crossed the corridor.

Viktor hurried over to him. “Yuuri! Are you all right?”

“Just tired,” Yuuri replied. “I’ve forgotten how exhaustive competitions are.”

“Then let’s go home,” Nishigori rumbled. “We’ll grab something to eat on the way.”

“I’m not hungry.” Behind his glasses, Yuuri squinted and averted his face from the ceiling lights.

Minako and Nishigori exchanged a glance. Ignoring them, Viktor took Yuuri’s face in both hands. “Yuuri,” he said. “Look at me.”

Yuuri squinted at Viktor, but his gaze drifted off.

Alarmed, Viktor held up one finger. “Yuuri, look at my finger and follow it.”

“What’s that supposed to prove?”

“Just do as I say.”

Finally done with CYHMH

I'm glad the ending wasn't crappy. It breaks my heart every time I finish any Asian Drama. IDK. Maybe because I'll miss watching them? I'm gonna' miss Kim Jae Won oppa :"> he's the main reason I watched Can You Hear My Heart :) But I'm happy that he's in May Queen so it's on my Drama List right now and also Golden Time where Hwang Jung Eum is the main character :)))
