Made this for my good friend @suedoodle, who suggested a crossover between Mario and Asterix as an art trade. My part consisted of drawing Cacofonix interacting with side characters, namely the goombas. Hope you like it, Sue! 😄

Cacofonix Fic Idea that I thought of at 3am listening to the epic version of Please, Please, Please:

Fullyautomatix swings his hammer too loudly one day, causing damage, this causes him to hear Cacofonix sing nicely, he’s not really singing nicely, it’s just Fuli’s damaged hearing that affects how he hears Cacofonix’s singing, for the first time in his life he enjoys Cacofonix singing, doesn’t tie him up, and all the while it rains on the village while everyone else covers their ears.

(Even the Romans are affected, leading to peace from them as they know the source of the rain)

At first Panoramix and everyone else decided to leave Fuli as he was, when they realize their mistake: the rain causes floods, no work is getting done because everyone has their ears covered, and Panoramix’s inability to help Fuli, Astérix and Obelix are sent to find a physician who specializes in hearing to cure Fuli and save the village from a flood and ruptured ear drums.

(2)Fuli doesn’t accept the help at first, and (1)Cacofonix succeeds in convincing him not to get help.

He had been staying with Cacofonix listening to him sing, both of them blissfully unaware of the chaos down below.

Cacofonix tries to convince not to go through with getting help when Fuli finally sees the damage done to the village

Fuli finally agrees to get help.

Ik it has it's flaws but ithink it might be my favourite live action movie. Mission Cleo and the others are decent (we don't talk about God save brittania) but like,, idk this movie is so charming to me ^^

What if Panoramix gave a pregnant woman a magic potion to drink, and the potion was also absorbed by the child, it turns out that this child would be born already soaked in the potion (not like Obelix, he fell into the cauldron when he was 6), and it turns out that such a child would have inhuman power, but what can newborn children only do? Scream. I think I solved the mystery of the inhuman volume of Cacofonix' voice.

Like, yeah, I know that in one comic, Caesar's son was given a potion to drink and was just strong as expected, but there are a few nuances here. Caesarion was already born, and he could already make sounds, crawl, and grab things with his hands. And in the case of Cacofonix, he was just born, but already with the effect of a magic potion, but a newborn baby can do absolutely nothing except lie and scream.

And in the end, the only ability that would be enhanced in the child would be the voice. When Cacofonix was born, he deafened his mother and everyone present, and perhaps the entire village, with his first cry. And it would never go away, even when he grew up, as with Obelix, the effect of the potion was permanent. In the end we got Cacofonix the bard ✨
