KEYNESIAN ECONOMICS

The central tenet of this school of thought is that government intervention can stabilize the economy.

Circa 1930. John Maynard Keynes (British Economist) spearheaded this movement.

THE REVOLUTIONARY IDEA

Inadequate demand leads to prolonged periods of high unemployment. An economies output of goods and services is the sum of consumption, investment, government purchases and net exports. There are three tenets: 1. Aggregate demand is influenced by public and private economic decisions. Keynesian economics supports a mixed economy guided mainly by the private sector but partly operated by the government. 2. Prices, and especially wages, respond slowly to changes in supply and demand 3. Changes in aggregate demand, whether anticipated or unanticipated, have their greatest short-run effect on real output and employment, not on prices. Keynesians believe that, because prices are somewhat rigid, fluctuations in any component of spending—consumption, investment, or government expenditures—cause output to change. If government spending increases, for example, and all other spending components remain constant, then output will increase.

These are the findings of Keynes' books The general Theory of Employment, Interest and Money (1936), and Treatise on Money.

A key quote from his works was surrounding the argument that governments should solve problems in the short run rather than wait for market forces to fix things over the long run, because "In the long run we are all dead."

Post 1970's, many advanced economies suffered stagflation, a term many of my peers will be familiar with (in the years 2022-23, we have experienced one of the worst examples of this phenomenon thanks to the Russian-Ukraine war, cost of living crisis, mild market collapse following the event of NFT's and digital currency like bitcoin.) Keynesian economics had no response for stagflation, which gave an opportunity for Monetarism to gain popularity, as they doubted that governments had the fiscal responsibility, policy or ability to be able to regulate the business cycle.

"you are but you just can't feel it because of the adrenaline running trhough your body and the fact that you played 105 minutes of soccer" she said as you shook your head

"no I promise I'm not!" You exclaimed as this time she shook her head aswell as sending you a disapproving look

"Y/n you grew up in Darwin. You struggle with a normal Australian winter what makes you think your gonna be fine in London?" She asked and I shrugged

"Exactly now cmon put your jacket on before you freeze" she said holding it out to you again as you shook your head stubbornly and she sighed

"I wanna play with Kyra" you stated as you crossed your arms over your chest

"You can once you put your jacket on, cmon the quicker you do this the quicker you can go annoy Kyra" she stated and you gasped and held your hand to your heart in offense

"I'm not annoying!" You exclaimed and she shrugged

"Many people would disagree with that statement" she said and you rolled your eyes and crossed your arms again

"If this is your way of making me put on my jacket it's not working" you said and turned your head away from her

"You sure coz your looking a bit cold" Caitlin said

"how?" You threw your arms up before slapping them at your legs

"Well you had your arms crossed, that's what people do when they're cold" she explained and you shook your head

"they also do it when they're angry!" you exclaimed about to cross your arms but thinking better of it and keeping them at your sides "better?" You asked and sighed when she shook her head. you then moved your arms out to the sides and just when you did that you felt a jacket being slipped onto your body  you were slightly confused though since Caitlin still held your jacket. Caitlin then stepped forward and zipped it up following that by tapping your shoulders

"Better" she said with a smile while you had a pout as she kissed your forehead and spun you by your shoulders to see a smirking Katie as you scoffed

"Your meant to be on my side" you exclaimed as Caitlin handed Katie your jacket as you had hers

"I usually would but I can't let my partner in crime freeze to death can I? I'd be a crap partner then" she said and you sighed again and let out a tiny I guess.

You wet on Katie's back getting carried around the pitch and waving to fans, sometimes stopping to sign things or take photos with fans. You hated to admit it but your legs were starting to get really cold since they weren't wrapped up in your jacket like the rest of your body and the temperature difference made it worse .

"my legs are cold" you complained and you could see Caitlin smirk and share a look with Katie "and before you say anything putting on my jacket earlier wouldn't of helped!" You added quickly before the two could say anything as Caitlin held her hands up in defense. You walked for a little bit longer before it became too much and you slipped off Katie's back onto the grass, sat down with your knees to your chest and Katie's big puffer pulled over your legs as your cheek laid on your right knee. Caitlin and Katie stopped walking and came over to check on you but when they realised you were content to just sit there and warm up a bit they left you with a kiss on the forehead from each of them, a ruffle of your hair and a 'call out to us if you need us' before you were alone again were you quickly drifted off to sleep even with the crowd screaming to try get the attention of their favourite players.

When the rest of the team had started making their way to the changing rooms and Caitlin, Katie, Steph, Kyra, Alessia and Leah noticed you still hadn't moved from your spot Leah waved the others off and decided to go get you herself. She slotted herself on your right side and was surprised to see you asleep, in the middle of the pitch with the fans screaming but then she remembered it was you; the girl who could sleep anywhere. She started gently rubbing your arms and back to gently wake you up from your slumber and when she noticed you waking up more she started caressing your cheeks and attempting to warm them up slightly with her hands.

"Hey kiddo, your awake" she said when she saw your eyes open and your hands lift to wipe the sleep from them

"Hey Le" you said as you leant into her which she welcomed and guided your head to her shoulder while you woke up properly

"I heard about the jacket shenanigans" she said and you sighed

"I was cold" you said and Leah looked at you to continue "when cait first asked" you continued and Leah seemed to grasp what you were trying to tell her now

"Why didn't you want it?" She asked gently while rubbing your left arm while you looked towards the ground and were you could see your boots poking out from under your jacket

"I did but for some reason, in my head, I didn't want to do what she said" you shook your head "or i didn't want her to be right, for some reason my brain made me think she was trying to prove a point by making me put it on because she knew I was cold or something" you shook your head again "but my heart knew she was just doing what was best for me because she loves me but my brain overpowered my heart so I just didn't want it" you explained and Leah nodded in understanding

"You're right she was just doing what she knew she needed to do to keep you safe and healthy and she would do that bend if you're being stubborn because she loves you. It's fine to feel like that, you know, sometimes our brain is tired and it isn't thinking logically and it makes haste decisions like that and that's fine" she placed her hand on your knee as you finally looked up at her

"So they'll still want me?" You asked with teary eyes since you were a little bit scared of the answer as you were still tired and everything seemed more exaggerated then normal

"Are you kidding they would never get rid of you! Kyra maybe. But not you!" She joked as you let out a laugh and hugged her

"Thanks Le, love you" you said into her jacket as she rubbed your hooded head

"That's okay, love you too" she said pulling away, kissing your forehead before standing up and pulling you up "cmon we gotta go inside" she said but you stayed rooted in place

"my legs are still cold Le" you whined while looking up at her like a pouting child. It was moments like these that Leah remembered that you were still only going. she just laughed before unzipping her jacket and pulling you into another hug before she zipped her jacket back up

"That better?" She asked and you nodded against her

"Much better" you said dozing off to sleep against her

"hey no sleeping this is cuddle time" she joked but could tell that she was already loosing you so she hoisted you into her arms which seemed to wake you up a bit more

"le your knee" you said looking at her with worry and trying to get out of her arms

"my knees fine" she said but you shook your head "I promise" she said looking you in the eyes as you finally nodded and leaned you head against her shoulder and into her neck where she could feel little puffs of air hitting her skin from your breathing.

When she made it back to the locker room everyone cooed at you as you lay sleeping in Leah's arms and took lots of photos and videos of you with or sweet captions. Leah made a mental note to bring up the conversation the two of you had with Caitlin, Katie and Steph but for now she was fine with the attention she was gaining due to you. Little to you and Leah your interaction on the pitch had already been posted on multiple social media platforms and fans were awwing over how gentle and kind Leah had been and how genuine your relationship was with the older girls in the team and the stony faced captain.

You had your arm around your girlfriends shoulder when they pressed the record button and one of the seven boys who's named you found out was JJ started yelling at the camera.

You had known about the sidemen, you did live in London after all their fans were everywhere and almost all their videos went viral.

You smiled when you felt Caitlin laugh at one of their jokes and looked at her "ya happy we came?" you whispered and she turned to you "I reckon we smash em" she smiled and you laughed at her enthusiasm.

It was early in your relationship and you hadn't made anything public yet in terms of media-wise, you tried to keep it a secret from the team but the captains clearly latched on to your closeness and beat it out of you.

When they were discussing the 'discount code' you slipped your arm off Caitlin and started playing with the soccer ball underneath your feet "What about Gunners" you said when they didn't like their first word.

"Oh yeah Gunners!" KSI said with a shrug as Josh celebrated behind him.

You all went to your spots as one named Ethan just explained the first game. "Someone throws the ball in, touch it once, and then kick for a goal," he said and you all agreed.

"I don't think we need to ask if we're partners right?" Caitlin joked, her Aussie accent popping through as you laughed "yeah but you're going first"

JJ went first, kicking a fairly easy shot but your goal keeper and friend Manu must have been day dreaming cause she watched it go through without moving.

"Manu babe!" you called out "You just watched it go in!" you called out to her which made the girls laugh "I'm warming up" she defended herself and all the girls laughed again.

You were happy you agreed to come now it seems more fun than you thought.

The boys were still celebrating as you patted Ruby "your turn Rubesicle" you told her as she and Noelle went over.

You looked at Caitlin whose competitive nature had taken over her as she started to squint around "You're going to get lines if you squint Catie" you teased and she shook her head "Shut up".

You smiled, proud of yourself as Ruby took her shot and Toby caught it, next was Harry who had an impressive kick but Manu shot up and tapped it away which left you speechless.

All the girls erupted in cheers at your friends talent and all the boys clapped whilst complimenting her save.

"Care to do that against Chelsea next time?" you called out and smiled when you saw Manu look at you with a deadpan expression.

Noelle went next and also kicked an incredible shot but Toby blocked it in the same mannerisms as Manu.

Everyone went into shambles again and Noelle went to her knees, you got so excited that you clung on to Caitlin that let out a loud gasp.

"That was the save of his lifetime!" Noelle yelled and everyone laughed.

Next was Ethen who hit the post and you and Caitlin walked up to the camera which you smiled at.

"Hi my names Caitlin Foord" Caitlin introduced herself "I should score but we'll see" she shrugged, you laughed at your girlfriend as you repeated her words to her "C'mon Caity" you encouraged before throwing the ball up and watching as she touched it with her knee and kicked it into the middle and straight into Toby's hands.

"Caitlin!" you yelled knowing that she could kick a better goal in her sleep "It is scarier than you think" she defended herself to you as you both laughed going back.

You watched Josh go next as he tried to do something cool but failed...miserably.

You couldn't hold in your laugh as he whipped his head around to see where the ball was and Simon who was next to you laughed harder from your reaction.

"We brought grandad with us today, sorry" Ethan yelled out and for a second you felt bad for the man but he was also laughing at himself so it seemed fine.

You and Caitlin walked up again as you looked into the camera.

"Hi my names y/f/n but if I miss it's Caitlin Foord" you smiled before Caitlin yelled out a 'hey' as you smiled cheekily at her.

Caitlin threw the ball as you touched it with your right foot to keep it on the ground but went back a little to smash it, it seemed like it was going to go in before Toby stretched out his leg and hit it out with his foot.

You groaned as Caitlin laughed at you and grabbed you to take you to the line.

"You almost made me do the splits!" Toby called out and you laughed "be more flexible then" you defended with a smile.

A couple more shots later and a failed trick shot the whole fourteen of you were smiling ear to ear as you all had fun. Simon got another one in and now you and Caitlin were going up "I reckon low corners he's expecting high shots" you told her as you looked at the goalie.

"hey, no team chatting!" JJ called out as you both laughed and separated, you threw the ball and Caitlin touched it before kicking back left corner which he thought would go high, just as you predicted.

You cheered for Caitlin before she opened her arms for a big hug as you ran back to the girls "on the map" you sang out to them.

It was your turn soon enough and you did the same thing as Caitlin but switched to your left boot so it would go the other way which Toby got confused by and dived the other direction.

"Oi she's strategic!" Simon yelled out towards you as you gave an innocent smile to them which they laughed at. When you were walking back Caitlin whispered in your ear "such a smart girl" she praised as you blushed.

Once it was your turn again you completely smashed it with your left foot making the ball go fast so Toby wasn't quick enough to stop it as it hit the net.

"Let's go!" Noelle yelled out from her spot on the side and Ethan clapped "beautiful!" he hyped as a smile formed on your face and Caitlin laughed.

The boys ended up hitting 5 before the girls and next was a crossbar challenge which Caitlin ended up being a gun at, scoring three of the five you and Ruby being the other two to score one.

You looked at the camera before sighing "something about the boys crying out in defeat is empowering" you shrugged and walked off, you didn't know that clip of you would become viral in a couple of days.

Penalty's were next and you put yourself up second in line, before Caitlin, you were first to get one in for the girls and Caitlin quickly behind as you both clapped hands.

"They're like a dynamic duo" JJ whispered out loud "if only you knew" you joked back and Caitlin pulled you away before you could see the look on their faces.

Your next one you ran towards the left but kicked it to the right making Toby confused and go to the left making your shot clear and easy.

"I'm quite proud of myself there" You smiled at Caitlin who smiled "You're too adorable," she told you before going up herself.

It was now 9 - 7 and you only needed one more goal for the girls to win the round and it was your turn.

"This is really nerve-wracking" you admitted before the boys started yelling things out about 90-minute goals and champion leagues.

You winked at Caitlin before taking your shot when it hit the net all the girls came running at you with cheers and you jumped up and down.

Next was free kicks and everybody kinda sucked at it but the boys eventually scored three, even if you accidentally hit Harry in the chest and had to apologize six times as he said 'It's fine' with a clearly winded voice.

It was two all and we decided to end it on rock paper scissors which you elected Caitlin for.

"Why me?" she asked "Cause I will end up forgiving you if you lose," you said as the others nodded Caitlin just rolled her eyes and went against Vik.

Vik went rock and Caitlin paper so we won and all the girls went into cheers and you jumped on Caitlin's back "Oh yeah!" you yelled out as she laughed at your excitement.

When she put you down she covered her microphone "Am I going to get rewarded for this miraculous win" she said with a smirk and you just smirked back at her.

i think one of the things that really drove home the realization that a lot of people are reacting to the incident between george and caiti so disproportionately is the maxgg reaction clip to it like i cant explain it but he is there screaming, voice cracking, calling george a piece of shit and i know other people watched it and felt outraged on caiti's behalf or whatever but i was just like . bro what are we doing. Because what are we doing! everyone is acting like george committed a literal crime instead of just doing something icky and it's insane like i just do not understand. and obviously caiti is allowed to feel uncomfortable, she's allowed to look back in hindsight and realize and understand that she was uncomfortable and would've navigated the situation differently had she not been drunk and she's allowed to seek out an apology/explanation from george (even if i believe it should've been done privately but whatever), but blowing up the whole situation and insinuating or even outright saying that george abused or harassed her and deserves the highest punishment for that is so entirely unreasonable given the actual events that occured (which is another thing i cant even definitively be sure on because every time her or one of her friends says something the story changes in some way like)

For people sending shit to Caiti bc she didn’t say anything at the moment, while she already explained her point of view a bit on Twitter - even if she shouldn’t have to- I want to add to that a bit. We heard thousands of stories where women said no to men and they still physically abused them. Put yourself in her shoes for a goddamn second, she’s 18 and drunk in a room with two grown ass men that she doesn’t know well, she only know their online persona. It might be a stretched idea for some of y’all, but I’m basing this on women experience with those types of situations. In a lot of cases, when you say no, worse things can happen. More violence can happen.

Okay first of all careful with the "well educated and well spoken" part. I'm 16 and trying my very best not to lose my mind. After four years in this fandom, I'm very well aware of how words can become violently misconstrued and everything is taken as the end of the world. I get it, parsing through information like this is difficult and trying to figure out where you stand is even harder- but don't take my words as final. Don't take anyone's. Consider your own thoughts and feelings against the evidence we all have and make up your own mind. That's part of the reason we're in this mess. That being said:

I think the largest factor here is that George and Caiti lived two very different experiences that night. I don't believe that George was attempting to get with her in any way- I don't think that any of the girls were invited to Dream's hotel room for any sexual reasons. I think from the first night they hung out Caiti was uncomfortable with the age gap and thought of George as weird, potentially flirty, and maybe untrustworthy. Neither Caiti or her friends liked Dream to begin with.

When they decided to go up to Dream's hotel room that night, Dream did not know how old Caiti was. Caiti says that George did. I don't know what their instagram dms were. However they interacted, they were all drunk and Caiti perceived George's actions to be sexual.

I think, based on how we know George to act when he's drunk (Sapnap's stories, Dream's stories, and the drunk banter episode) that he likely was touchy with whoever was around them that night. That doesn't invalidate what Caiti felt. She hasn't been around George much prior to this, certainly not while drunk, and she already felt like he was flirting with her. Whatever touching happened wasn't called out or even noticed by anyone in the room. Nobody remembers it happening except Caiti (and potentially George, but it's unlikely)

When she went to leave, she was already uncomfortable and then he followed her to the elevator. Benefit of the doubt, he was probably just going to walk her back to her hotel room, but she was very drunk and very uncomfortable, which he failed to recognize. The minute she told him no, he backed off and left her alone.

He likely did not interpret any of her signals that night, as she said they were all non-verbal until the elevator. He probably doesn't even remember it. We know that when George is drunk, he'll often sit on the laps of his friends (Sapnap) or hang on them (Karl) or even kiss them (Dream) but that's not okay to do with strangers.

This isn't a story about an abuse of power or age, but likely recognizing that some people just can't handle getting drunk. George is not good at reading people when he's sober, and can't be trusted not to trample on people's boundaries when he's drunk. Alcohol is not for everyone.

This is likely, hopefully, a one-off event. I believe that George's tweet yesterday was reactionary, as our first time seeing the allegations was likely also his first time hearing them. I doubt that he remembers the details of the night.

None of this is to abstract his fault. If Caiti was uncomfortable with any of his actions, he should have been able to recognize that and step away. The fact that he couldn't proves that he was too drunk and needs to reflect on his own problems with alcohol.

That being said, if what I think happened and what actually happened are the story that George explains when and if he goes live, and on the condition that Caiti believes him and accepts his apology, I will continue to support George.

I think there is a lot of growth that needs to happen in his own life. I think he's emotionally stunted, I think he uses alcohol in an unhealthy way, and I think he needs to come to terms with the fact that he hurt someone even if it was unintentional.

Lying will not get him out of this.

With all that said, I will continue to support dream and sapnap regardless of their reaction to this. Sapnap wasn't there. He has no part in this other than being George's friend. Dream didn't notice it when it happened and was never aware of any of it. He's been caught up unfairly in the allegations and I don't feel it's right to drop him over this, at least personally.

I don't think Dream or Sapnap will stop being friends with George. I think dream and George are more than friends and have completely built their lives around each other. I think sapnap's content is already mostly stand alone but dream has been his best friend for over a decade and George is such an integral part of that. I think it is naive to think George will be kicked out, and that doesn't mean that either of them are supporting a bad person, it just means they're being good friends.

Sometimes you have to be a good friend because somebody needs it. I don't know when George will go live and I don't know what he'll say, but I don't regret my time here regardless of what it is.

I was the redditor that Hannah attacked and she did reach out to me privately to apologize and explain that she did assume the worst from my intentions and regrets it.

I feel so bad for the CCs as they've put themselves in an impossible situation, especially now when Caiti said to look to the ones distancing themselves as 'proof'.

If they take back their statements publically they will be hated by both 'sides'. I understand why Sylviee didn't want her statements to reach twitter but it would've been a comfort to see her say that it's not proof that dteam are awful people.

yeah the people being like "he admitted to it!!" are kinda why i think he was a little too conciliatory in his second tweet and his response tonight. i understand WHY he would be apologetic given the public lashing hes been getting, but he should not have to apologize for not knowing she was a fan of his. he'd have no way of knowing or reason to assume that. people pretending like subscriber accounts are a "power dynamic" are fucking laughable. and while the tidbit about the instagram accounts was interesting, i think he spent so much time harping on her age (the least important aspect of all this, imo) because twitter is so obsessed with it. the only problem with her age was the underage drinking, which was her responsibility.

overall, the fact that he's handling this with so much grace and tact despite the absolutely unhinged hate train against him is a testament to his character. that's my main takeaway from this. he is a far more mature and thoughtful person than he lets on and the fact that he was painted as this childish yet evil sociopath by the internet even before all this went down is very sad.

my current opinion on this (stupid) situation (which could've been solved in private)

i feel bad for both caiti and george

caiti, because she feels like she's been deeply affected by what went down that night (even though she explained it in a way that made george seem like a reincarnation of adolf hitler) and the fact that she's surrounded by friends who hate who she once looked up to

and george, because he will lose thousands of fans to someone who made the situation a hundred times worse than it needed to be and this could've been, yet again, something that could've been solved privately. george had every reason to believe that he was cuddling with someone who was 21+, since she was wearing a wrist band thing with 21+ on it.

here is every lie that caiti said in her accusation:

.she was 'freshly 18' - no she wasn't, she was nearly 18 and a half, her bday is in january and she met george in june

. she claimed that george knew this at the time, but he didn't because she was wearing a 21+ wristband. how funny!

. she had to get up for the touching and yada yada to stop - no she didn't, she came back and sat next to him multiple times

. they forced her to drink - no, they (caiti and her friends) were already very drunk when they came to dream's hotel room. isn't that on them?

. they forced her and her friends to play a drinking game - no, they were the ones who asked to play that drinking game on the second night! again, how funny is that?

. she 'resorted to playing games on her phone so that she could disappear because she was uncomfortable' - no, she passed her phone around to everyone and let them play the game too. hahahahaha

. she didn't bring up half of the people there! god knows why. if you are trying to make an accusation l, you should include every detail and lots of evidence (which ik that she has provided now) and NOT lie. oops, guess she did all of that!

"No caity I don't wanna sleepppp" you groaned as Caitlin all but dragged you back to you guys' shared room at the tillies camp

"too bad you woke up early this morning we had long training and we have early training tomorrow you need to go to bed now" she said as you pouted knowing she was right but you didn't wanna miss out on the fun

"But everyone is gonna have fun without me" you said sadly which made Caitlin feel bad for you. She knew in the under 16's camp you came from to join the senior team everyone always left you out because you were too outgoing for them to handle but that's how everyone here loved you.

"I promise they're not" she said rubbing her thumb over your hand "cmon we'll quickly stop past and see them all, they're in the main room" she said changing direction to head to the new destination.

"Ayeeee it's our baby" macca called as soon as you and caity entered the chill room where the whole team was sat

"M not a baby" everyone heard you grumbled while you attempted to glare at her but it didn't give that effect and everyone tried not to laugh at you knowing that you were tired and your emotions would be all over the place right now.

So I wanted to do some talking because I understand there's a lot of things that people are very confused about [...] for the people who are a little bit more newer, I am Caiti's best friend, I am the person that was with her during VidCon. [...]  I don't want to fully explain the entire situation because at the end of the day this is always gonna be Caiti's story and it is always going to be her story to tell. I am just here to help move along her story and help people understand exactly what happened. I am her witness essentially.[...] That is it at the end of the day and I am always gonna be here to support Caiti. She is my best friend, she's been there for me through absolutely everything that I have been through in my life. Her mom was the one who paid for my trip to VidCon because she didn't want Caiti to go alone. [...] Caiti is my best friend, I see her like a little sister and to tell me that it's my fault that this happened to Caiti is so unbelievably hurtful. [...] 

This is just my intention-to like get things out there and help people completely understand everything that went on. I am so sorry. [...] Like i said- I did not mean for this to happen to Caiti. I didn't know that this would happen [...] I just want you guys to understand I love Caiti absolutely so much. She's my best friend. I have tried to be here for her through absolutely everything and I just wanna explain some things. One of the biggest things i've been seeing people say is that i got Caiti into a 21 and up party and I got her in and that I was feeding her drinks- like there were some things that people were saying that I was the reason Caiti was getting drunk and that Caiti was getting into these 21 and up parties. If you guys read Caiti's statement, which I recommend everyone here do if you guys have not read her statement, she goes into everything in very well detail and she explains things very very well. And like I said in the beginning of the stream, this is Caiti's story, I'm just here to help move it along. And that was never the case. It was never 21 and up parties. I was 20 at the time, if they were 21 and up, I couldn't get in either. I don't own a fake ID, I've never owned a fake ID. If we were to try and get into these parties- like first of all, I also wanna say, the only wristband I had on was the Hyatt wristband that gets me into these parties. That was the only wristband I ever had on. I was technically Caiti's plus-one, but because Caiti was an invited creator and not a featured creator, a lot of these parties we wouldn't have even been able to get into. And I didn't even have like a badge that would let me get into a lot of these things so literally the only party that we got into was the Instagram party, and even then, I didn't get into the Instagram party; I myself. That was the only VidCon specified party that we ended up going to. And that was obviously the night that everything happened. I never even got in. The only person who had a 21 wristband was one of our friends, who have known Dream and George for a while now, so they would know that they were 21 anyways. I didn't get in

So essentially how that day started: we started at VidCon, we met up with some of our friend's friends who were talking about the Instagram party that night and that they had a connect to get us into the party. Once again I want to put out there- the party was 16 plus. If you look at Caiti's statement, it specifically says that it is a 16 up party and if you're 16 and older you need to be there with an adult, but if you're 18 and older you can be there without an adult, and then if you were 21 and up you got a yellow wristband that says that you were 21. And the only person- I did say earlier that I thought two of our friends were 21 at the time, that is because one of my friends that were there, she turned 21 after Caiti already left. It was like she turned literally 21 like- i don't remember exactly which day- but she turned 21, but she wasn't 21 at this time. And so she- we found out that they had connects to get into this party, we were like okay fun, that'd be awesome if we could all get in. So they wrote our names down and stuff. Something that happened, a little miscommunication, they didn't think that there were as many people as there were. So two of us didn't get in. I was one of the two people who didn't get in. Outside the venue there was a staircase and me and our other friend sat out there while everyone else went in because I knew, you know, that's a fun experience. There are text messages of us in that groupchat that ended up, you know obviously a lot of the things got used in that groupchat as proof. There's pictures in that groupchat of me and our friend sitting on the staircase talking about how they didn't let us in and us making jokes that they hated us for not letting us in, but we waited outside. I never got a wristband, I never got inside the venue. The only way I saw inside the venue was by seeing the pictures and videos that Caiti showed me after they went in. They came out 15 minutes later. Me and our other friend told them, dude stay inside, if you guys are having fun that's totally okay. Me and our other friend can just go somewhere else. We had friends who had an airbnb that we had been the night before, that we were like, we’ll just go over there it’s totally okay, don’t even worry about it if you guys don't wanna leave. Like I understand if you’re having fun. It’s a fun experience! It's a VidCon party! This is the first time Caiti was invited to VidCon. Getting to be at an event like that would’ve been so cool and I would not have wanted to take that away from her. But they, being the nice friends that they were, decided nonono, we’re gonna leave. They went in, got some pictures, some videos. i know they made a joke texting- there was like these little mini corndogs that were in there that were being passed around, you know like those people who like hold the plates and they have like the food on it. I'm pretty sure that’s what it was. they were like eating them and they were like guys, hold on, we’ll be out in a second, they got corndogs, they’re really good. Like jokes like that, you know. But then they ended up coming out. And we made a game plan, let’s go back to the hotel, you know, it’s totally fine. We went back to the hotel and that’s where we came from. It was a 16 and up party, no one drank. 

People claimed that we came to the hotel having already drank. We didn’t, we didn’t. We went back to the hotel, didn’t drink. Went to their hotel room, and that’s when we started to drink. So to say that we were already drinking beforehand, didn’t happen. I just wanted to get that out there. We weren’t already drunk when we got there, it wasn’t a 21 and up party. It was a 16 and up party. There were creators there that were younger than Caiti and I, from what I saw. Like, it was never us getting Caiti into these 21 and up events. The only time that we went to a party where we drank, honestly, was at an airbnb party hosted by some friends of ours. That’s actually where we met Dream for the first time and that is when we went back to his hotel room that first night because we rode back in his car. I very much remember that night because I didn’t get that drunk as I did the next night. And it was hosted at that airbnb and everyone there was people that I know, people that I’ve gone on trips with, people that were very trustworthy, people that were there and continuously stayed sober and made sure everyone was okay. It was a very safe environment and there were people that Caiti and I have known for a very long time. So, it was a very safe environment for us to be getting, you know, for us to be drinking in. We were playing drinking games, it was very fun. Caiti and I had fun and we went back to their hotel that night and everything was fine. Nothing happened out of the ordinary. I had actually left earlier that night from the hotel room because our hotel room was literally like- their hotel room was here, you walk down the hall, pass the elevators, and then I think it was straight passed the elevators, and it was right there. Like our hotel room was right there. And I had left early that night anyways. Our friend, we’ve talked about it, one of our friends was romantically talking to Dream at the time. That was a very known fact. And she actually stayed the night in his hotel room twice. That first night, after the airbnb party, she was there that entire night. I had left early, I was really tired, I don’t have honestly the biggest like social like battery, especially when I’ve been drinking. I went back to the hotel room early. Caiti and our friend had stayed later and eventually, when Caiti was ready to go back, our friend had walked Caiti back to our hotel room and went back to Dream’s hotel room to spend the night. 

And then, the next night, I, you know, got way too drunk. This is after the instagram party, so I’d gotten way too drunk obviously, and that was a mistake of mine. I explained to someone in their dms, I was still very new to drinking. Obviously now, I’ve done it a couple more times, I understand my limits. At the time I honestly didn’t. The only times I’ve ever drank with Caiti have been like, you know, like chill environments, safe places, you know. I haven’t really, I don’t know. I’m still- I was still very new to that whole like partying scene. You know, like going out and seeing people. And I- so that night I was sitting on the couch with them, got a little too drunk obviously, and I did not intentionally want to leave. I was gonna stay way longer but I was sitting there on the couch and I just remember feeling extremely sick and extremely nauseous. I stood up, I said- I didn’t even look at anyone- I said “I’m gonna go guys” and I ran out of the hotel room. I probably walked out of their hotel room and then ran down the hallway. And I just- the thing that I only remember was getting to our hotel room, pulling out the key- ‘cause I have like this satchel,[...] I remember the hotel key was in there. I remember pulling it out, trying to get it to unlock the door and actively was throwing up at the same time in my hand. Like it was, it was, it was like, you know, just like horrible. And then I just remember getting on the bathroom floor, throwing up for a good like 30 minutes and then I woke up. And then I woke up and it was the next day. And it was interesting because I remember throwing up in my hand.[...]  So yeah. 

To also tell everyone, I did not leave Caiti there. A lot of people are claiming that I abandoned Caiti in that hotel room. I didn’t leave her alone in there. One of our friends were there, and were still awake. She was still there at the time. I left knowing full well Caiti was still there with someone. I assumed that the next morning- I assumed that night that Caiti would’ve been walked home- or walked back to our hotel room by the same person. Obviously, that hadn’t had happened. So that was essentially how everything- I hope that that helped a little bit. I know people had a lot of questions. That was just like the timeline that I remember. That's what I remember. I remember we drank in their hotel room that night. And I just remember getting up, getting really sick, and leaving, and knowing that Caiti was still there with one of our friends. And I like- the idea that people said that I abandoned Caiti- I didn’t abandon Caiti. I just really didn’t wanna throw up in their room. At the time, I was just like thinking how embarrassing that would be for me. I, you know, they had been there the night before, all night. You know, I thought, you know, these were people that we had already had conversations with during the day, that was the third time I had spoken to Dream during this event. I seriously thought these were people I could trust. I genuinely did. I genuinely did think these were people I could trust. They were bigger creators, they were already friends with friends of mine. I shouldn’t have to think that they were gonna do something to Caiti. Caiti, like I said, is my best friend and if I were to know that something was going to happen to her, I would’ve made her leave with me. I would’ve, I mean you guys saw the texts.

 What I remember that night and the next day, woke up and just really thought about it, because Caiti had already left for the airport by that time, which is why I had texted her. It’s just like, me and Caiti are just like, you know, two peas in a pod. We never left each other. That was the only time that I really left her. I was with her the entire trip, I never left her side except those times when she was still with our other friend. And I regret it. I regret it. And I admitted to Caiti, I texted her, I have told her multiple times now how I feel horrible and that I blame myself for leaving her in that situation not realizing how uncomfortable she was and that’s completely on me. I’m really bad at picking up social cues. I was also incredibly drunk out of my mind, I was, and I do, I do take responsibility for the fact that I could’ve gotten Caiti out of that situation, and I didn’t. And I regret that and I am going to, like I said in my post, going to continue to try to make it up to Caiti even though she tells me that she doesn’t blame me and I shouldn;t blame myself. I still feel like I need to make it up to her and that’s why I’ve been supporting through everything. I have been doing everything I can to make sure that people understand that she’s not a liar.

 In the end of the day, he is a horrible person, he did something absolutely disgusting and in the end of the day the blame is on him. Could I have done better, yes, but he is still the one that did that without her consent. And to now backtrack and say that “oh well now there’s proof” is like absolutely insane. I also know that people said that our friend group hated Dream and them. I didn’t. I didn’t at the time. If I did, would I have gone into his hotel room? Would me and Caiti have wanted to hang out with them? Absolutely not. Now have my opinions on them changed completely? Absolutely. They are honestly horrible people. And to say we changed Caiti’s opinions on that night, No. We didn’t. Caiti came to those conclusions on her own. And if you look at our text messages that we had that next day when I texted her asking her if she was okay, you can tell she still hadn’t fully processed that night. And I remember the next day we talked about it and we were like woah, dude. Like what was that? Like that was crazy.

 I know people have been like well Dream had texted people asking about Caiti. No, not me. And me and Dream had been in contact for months after VidCon because I seriously saw him as a friend. I genuinely did. I invited them to hang out with us on multiple occasions. I talked to him at Twitchcon Vegas. I very much thought he was a nice guy and I personally thought completely different than all my other friends did but that doesn’t change the fact that he helped push a narrative that Caiti was a liar and that it wasn’t like how Caiti said. And my opinions on him have completely changed and he never once texted me asking about Caiti and George. The only time that we had a conversation about anything that had to do with that night was obviously when the withHarry happened and he texted me asking if it had seemed like anything had happened and I,a t the time, said no, because the conversation was not about George. The conversation was about him. And it was about the underage drinking and it wasn’t ever about whether or nog Caiti- it was just always just about him and not George which is why I said “dude no nothing seemed wrong” because he wasn’t doing anything wrong and I can stand by that comment and I said that in one of my posts. It wasn’t him, that was our conversation. It was never about George. It was about him and the Harry situation. And it was about- it at the time had seemed that Dream was the one that had taken advantage of Caiti and I said he didn’t and I didn’t lie. I never once lied about that. I never once got messaged about Caiti again from him. So, he never messaged me.

I hope I helped clear things up. I don’t have anything in front of me to help continue it. If I had something confusing to say- I would just have people come watch my stream also if they have any questions. I know there were more questions, I’ve been trying to answer things, but I’m just doing in little sections. I wanna make sure Caiti’s okay. I don’t wanna like fully take over her story because it is her story. And the fact now that they- and by they I mean dream team- is now suddenly switching up and saying “oh I am so sorry, I am so sorry like this is like horrible” are you? Because- are you really sorry? Or are you doing this to save your ass? Because let’s be real here, let’s be real. That’s basically it. Moral of the story- they don’t care about victims. 

I hope I helped with people misinterpreting the situation. I know some misinformation was going around. I just want to reiterate because something that I feel like people are not understanding- we were never at a 21 and up party. Caiti never had a 21 and up wristband. If you watch Caiti’s vlog they cut the wristbands off afterwards and it just makes absolutely zero sense. Caiti never once made something seem like she was 21.
