Calibre bikes
Tumblr media
If a bike on this list is sold out, you might still have the option to pre-order it or join a waiting list. Because of this, many bike shops and online brands are nearly sold out of bikes. It has also experienced a shortage of bikes due to factory restrictions and delays. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the bike industry has experienced an exponential boom in sales, partially due to public transit restrictions and also because people are looking for a fun, safe way to get outside. Why It May Be Harder to Find a Bike Right Now Fairly quickly, you’ll figure out what you like and don’t like about it, which will guide you in a custom or semi-custom build to follow. In general, it’s best to start with an affordable complete bike from a major manufacturer. The other disciplines have it a bit easier, with acceptable-quality dirt or park bikes coming in around $350 and BikeLife options just a bit above that. It’s tough to get a competitive race bike for under $500, and pro-quality builds from high-end manufacturers like Daylight and Supercross can easily hit the $4,000 mark. When in doubt, gravitate toward one of the 26-inch offerings, or even a 29. This leads to the feeling of sitting or standing “on the bike” rather than “in the bike.” Novice riders will likely find this feeling to be remarkably uncomfortable. Most 20-inch BMX frames have the bottom bracket higher than the axles, for purposes of ground clearance. In your thirties or above? Strongly consider getting a 24-inch wheel or larger. The BikeLife crowd tends to prefer 26-inch or 29-inch wheels, although 24-inch and 27.5-inch options are also available. Manufacturers like Sunday offer skatepark-specific bikes with wheels from 12 to 22 inches and a diversity of frame sizes as well. Consult your preferred manufacturer’s spec chart before ordering.įreestyle and/or recreational riders have a wider range of options. There is no common agreement as to sizing “Pro XL” from one company might be “Pro” or “Pro XXL” at another. Most racers south of middle age will want a twenty-inch wheel. Most riders will want a “dirt” or “park” bike, but children under twelve who have racing in mind should choose a ride specific to that task, lest they find themselves a long way behind the rest of even novice-level competition. Last but certainly not least, “BikeLife” is a whole new approach to BMX born from avant-garde street riders in Harlem, Philadelphia, Oakland, and elsewhere. Middle-aged riders looking to recapture some of their youth without cracking their kneecaps will be interested in a flock of new “retro” bikes which repeat the styles of the ’80s and ’90s forebears with more rider room and more durable materials. (Supercross, one of the most popular race-oriented brands, stocks 12 frame sizes for the 20-inch wheel and six frame sizes for “cruiser” races, using a 24-inch wheel.) Dirt, park, and street bikes all share the same rugged construction and steel-frame aesthetic, but they are each subtly optimized for a particular venue. Race bikes are optimized for competition, with stiff frames and extremely specific sizing. Most BMX bikes fall into one of six categories. That specialization means that, as with the mountain-bike cousins, you will give up performance in one area to gain it elsewhere-but the diversity of adult-sized BMX bikes is not nearly as outrageous as is it on the mountain, and it’s possible to race on your skatepark bike or vice versa. Starting in 1969 with repurposed Schwinns, the sport quickly refined and expanded its riding options to include everything from 12-pound terrors for six-year-old Expert-category riders to the 29-inch “bike life” cruisers beloved of the Brooklyn wheelie crowd. BMX is arguably the most diverse and inclusive form of cycling out there, encompassing coastal cultures, urban stunt riding, and hard-nosed rural competition in a single, loosely drawn concept.

ATF!Series Part Five: That Kind of Love - David Hale x Reader, Jax Teller x Reader
Tumblr media
Tagging: @kmc1989@hatersaremymotivators@bennykk@kelpies-shed
ATF Series:
Part One: A Rabbit You Don't Want To Chase - Stahl makes an unwelcome return to David's life.
Part Two: Fucked - Stahl fucks up you entire life in pursuit of Jax Teller.
Part Three: Hell or High Water - David visits you in jail.
Part Four: Damage Control - David tries to contain the damage and makes a decision about the future.
Tumblr media
Everyone thinks the relationship between you and Jax was just sex but the truth is it wasn’t. There are things that Jax told you throughout your time together that he has never told another person. His suspicions over his father’s death, his dismay at the direction the club is taking under Clay’s leadership, how trapped he feels by the legacy that’s been foisted upon him.
Those three months you’d spent together he had found himself falling in love. You were so different than the other people in his orbit, open, free spirited and you didn’t say a single thing you didn’t mean. That’s the reason he’d had to end it with you, because you were so unapologetically yourself it was detrimental.
When he hears you’re leaving for Santo Padre, he knows you won’t be coming back. The art scene over there is bustling, it’s the perfect place for a budding artist especially one of your calibre. He is surprised that Hale’s going with you. That man hasn’t taken so much as a vacation day since he graduated the academy and how he’s taking an eight week sabbatical so that he can that he can be with you over the summer.
It's just another way that Jax would have failed you because if he were in Hale’s shoes, he wouldn’t have been able to leave Charming, Clay would never have let him.
All of this shit you’ve been through recently, the arrest by Stahl, the vandalism charges, losing your placement in San Franisco, all of that’s on him. You’d had it in your power to put him back in prison, to take down the club and instead you’d set your life on fire. He’d like to think it was because of him but the truth is, he knows you were protecting Hale. If Clay thought you were a threat he would have come after you and Hale, he would have got caught up in the crossfire.
That man would do anything for you, he’d proved it when he used all of his political leverage to keep you out of jail. The promotion Hale had been seeking, it’s gone, he doesn’t have the juice for it anymore but he doesn’t seem to care. His priority is you, it has been since the very beginning.
When Stahl shows up at the club that night to wipe that in Jax’s face, he sees the writing on the wall. This bitch, she’s not going to stop just because the two of you have hightailed it to Santo Padre. She tells him as much as she sits in her car in the Teller Morrow forecourt, the engine still running. She’s going to follow you, try and use the Mayans connection to come at SAMCRO. Those guys may be running legit now but there’s still skeletons in their closet, ones that could lead back to Charming.
That’s the reason he gives Clay when he shoots her at point blank range in the head, he was protecting their business from a possible RICO case but the truth is, he was protecting you because Stahl. That cunt was never going to stop, not until she destroyed you, Hale and the club.
They make it look like it was the IRA. It makes sense to the AFT, she was tracking Galen, and now they’ve found her on the outskirts of town, carved up with the Butcher of Belfast’s signature. When Galen turns back up in Ireland, the investigation is torn from their hands and the ATF withdraw from Charming once again.
The night before you leave for Santo Padre Jax turns up outside your house. He wants to say goodbye, to tell you that you’re safe, that you don’t have to worry about repercussions from Stahl or the club. He barely has time to get off his bike before he sees Hale’s Jeep already pulling into the driveway. The other man doesn’t see him, he’s too busy collecting his bags out the back of his car.
You’re wearing one of Hale’s t-shirts and a pair of his boxers shorts when you open the door. It rankles Jax to see you in another man’s clothes, he remembers the mornings you’d slip from his sheets wearing a shirt of his that barely covered your ass. Hale smiles when he sees you, his fingers threading through your hair as the deputy kisses you with a tenderness he had never exhibited before he met you.
This is what love looks like, Jax understands, the kind of love that he can never give you.
He waits until you’ve gone inside before he starts his bike. He doesn’t want to infringe on your life any more than he already has. You deserve a man who puts you first and Jax has always known it could never be him.
Love David? Don’t miss any of his stories by joining the taglist here.

so, after trials and tribulations and many many insults thrown the way of bad quality vhs, i proudly present you: the translation of the video of vale's eighteen birthday!
when there were long pauses between the dialogue, i put the timestamp before it. my comments are between [] .
video and translation under the cut :)
youtube
Vale (VO): the “Valentino Rossi production” presents, in collaboration with the idiots of Tavullia, this epic footage.
Vale(VO): Valentino Rossi, the man, the rider, the moron, turns eighteen
Vale(VO): there’s a new name in the register of the Carabinieri [cops] of Tavullia, it’s him, Valentino Rossi, the kid with a man’s body and the IQ of a boiled zucchini. He gets from his father a great shaft and the brain of the chicken he used to keep on a leash. Valentino Rossi, the man, the rider, the moron, when he gets interviewed he says about himself “I’m Valentino Rossi” and then he loses his focus. He doesn’t like to define himself a nepo baby because he doesn’t know what it means. The one who merges the spirit of a rider with the hair of a folk drummer. Everybody seeks him, everybody calls him, but once they get to talk with him they mourn the loss of the answering machine.
Vale(VO): contacted by the Philip Morris International for a contract of billions, he declines the offer because he doesn’t smoke. Valentino Rossi, he rocks! And the Aprilia makes a wheelie.
Vale(VO): the next one will be his second year of competing in the world championship, but he still thinks he’s riding on a minibike, and he’s perpetually desolated because after the chequered flag he can’t find the turtle on his helmet. Nowadays, he’s the only rider paid by the Japanese to stay with Aprilia. Let’s enter his kingdom, his home, thing that sometimes he can’t do because he topples over in his ape car in the parking lot below.
(4.44)
Boy1: Marshall
Boy2: Oh, let me look at the video
Boy1: Marshall
Boy2: C’mon, get out of there
Boy1: Marshall. What then?
Vale: How are you?
Boy2: Nice, with the Marshall starting
Vale: Cosmic
[i have honestly no clue what this conversation is supposed to mean. It might be an inside joke, or they could be taking about an actual marshal of the Carabinieri]
Int: Valentino Rossi, how does it feel to be eighteen?
Vale: eh, how does it feel... eighteen years old, it’s an important age, we’ve all become a bit older, I have – rather than we have – gotten more mature compared to when i was younger, you don’t do the things you used to anymore, we’re all way calmer, basically now is... now it’s time to leave the fun behind and to get serious
(6.26)
Vale(behind the camera): Come on! Super risky!
Vale: Do it here!
Vale: Go again!
Vale: Now it’s sure [unintelligible] get down!
Vale (after the guy “jumps” with the bike): You need, you need the feeler gauge to measure how high he jumped! We measure it with gauge! (laughs)
Boy: even the wheels!
Boy: vale?
Vale: eh?
Boy: turn it off
Boy: incredibly-
Vale: wait, wait- okay, now go, a comment on this sensational jump- super high, a jump out of this world, done by Michele
Boy: incredibly, the wheels touched the ground even on the [unintelligible]
Michele: that’s thanks to the suspensions, really... optimal, that let me-
Vale: a question Michi, wait-
Michele: -all this speed, and...
Vale: I’m zooming on you... but how did you do it?
Michele: Oh God, i don’t-
Vale: fucking hell, it was sensational, a-
Michele: the good thing is-
Vale: -mind-blowing jump
Michele: did you see how i got down?
Vale: ah- fuck, no
Michele: you didn’t see it?
Vale: it was out of the thingy, out of the lens and.... now we try the calibre and we measure [unintelligible]
Voices: Whooo, let’s go!
Vale: show off!!
Vale: now we will show you a trick, that even Orfei [name of a famous circus]- Orfei came to Tavullia and asked us to perform it. Look. It’s on the verge of the unpredictable
(8.46)
Boy1: Oh god
Boy2: another Panda
Boy2: three motor scooters, incredible, incredible!

As the President of his club, Bucky always made sure that he made it home, whether it be for his brother’s, or to just keep his legacy alive one more day.
But it was not just that anymore, not after he had you as his guiding light — a beacon so bright that he knew he’d be a fool to act reckless, when he knew you were waiting for him back home.

It was freezing outside and the coat you wore did little to keep the chill at bay, but you were a woman on a mission — your accomplice, Peter, was by your side.
You felt invincible, untouchable in your secret, devious scheme.
Until, from across the lot, you heard a loud shout from the clubhouse door, “Not this shit again, Sweets!”
“Fuck,” you spat, dropping the evidence to the ground by your feet in your shock. Tinsel fell from the confines of the canvas tote bag, and you grimaced as the colours of red, gold, and green shone against the stark white of the crisp snow. “Shit.”
Next to you, Peter spun around, gulping loudly. “It’s Boss,” he hissed. “And–”
You rolled your eyes and turned to face Bucky head on with a defiant set to your jaw. Behind Bucky, Steve was staring between you and Peter, his eyes crinkled from the grin on his lips.
“Yes, this shit again, Bucky,” you affirmed, staring at him and putting your hands on your hips. “It was fun last year!”
The snow crunched under Bucky’s boots while he strode towards you, his hands behind his back and his face split by a half amused, half exasperated smile. “I know it was, Sweets, but why the fuck are you doin’ the same thing again?”
You blinked, confused. “What do you– It’s the same because I didn’t want to make them unsafe…”
Steve walked around Bucky, his grin growing wider and wider the closer he walked towards his own Harley. “We know,” he said, leaning against the frame of his bike and crossing his ankles. “That’s why we have a surprise for you.”
There was a stunned silence.
“Surprise…?” Your voice wavered with your uncertainty. “What–?”
Bucky pulled his arms out from behind his back, revealing spools of Christmas lights. “Here, sweetheart.” He offered them to you, a bright smile now tugging at the corner of his lips. “So you can light my way.”
You gasped and choked on the sharp inhale of air, absolutely gobsmacked at his willingness for this to happen not only once, but twice. “Oh– Really? I get to–?”
“Yeah, you really do,” Bucky said softly, and he pushed the lights into your hesitant hands. “Have at it, and I expect it to be done before I head out for a meet up later—I expect my baby to be lookin’ real pretty so I can show her off.”
Never before had you put so much effort into decorating anything, not to the calibre that you tied, looped, and hung the lights and tinsel on their bikes — especially Bucky’s, who’s chariot sported gold tinsel to match the accents throughout the body of it.
And you watched on, gleeful and animated, as Bucky and Steve came out into the lot an hour later, wearing black hoodies with their kuttes proudly on display.
“Holy shit,” Steve laughed, beaming at you. The set of bike keys in his hand jingled as he tucked them into the ignition, starting the Harley with a dull roar. “You outdid yourself, darlin’!”
“I’ll say,” Bucky said, staring at his Indian. “Almost—” He stopped, then looked at you, a playful smirk dancing over his features. “Almost as pretty as my baby girl, the light of my life; my beacon home.”

I just listened to the podcast with frankie carchedi from earlier this season and one thing he mentions is that he is weak at qualifying. Seems like there is a lot of tiny reasons building up to a lot behind the qualifying issues, like trying to tune the bike to marc's riding (the brakes they mentioned fixing) + marc still trying to understand the bike (looks better and better everyday) + aligning with a satellite team's limitation of understanding and setting up a bike quickly over a weekend + not being able to use other's data due to the spec difference
Is it right then for us to expect marc to adapt to the gp25 quicker and be ready to go from race 2? since it would be a factory set up with extensive resources and data ( but then I look at enea's qualifying)
How much should we be hedging bets?
yeah like I said, I'm open to his current struggles being down to some combination of external factors. there clearly is something about their working process right now that's a little bit funky - though ofc there's also no rule that you automatically get a satellite qualifying tax, otherwise surely the current best qualifier wouldn't be in a satellite team. also, the reason I think it's worth highlighting the teammate comparison is...... well, a lot of these things will be true of his teammate too, yeah? idk, I think personally I don't quite find all the mitigating factors satisfactory, I do feel like his risk/reward calculation in those specific sessions feels a bit. meh... but also, like. who knows. as I said in that post, the entire problem is that a lot of time in motorsports, you don't know. marc's fans obviously pay the most attention to him, which makes them highly aware of any and all performance-affecting issues, but of course a lot of riders will from weekend to weekend be dealing with some kind of issue that's making their lives harder. from the outside, you sometimes have to throw up your hands and acknowledge you simply do not know
which is also true of next year. I don't think there's currently any reason to conclude that his qualifying won't be fixed. which, by the way, doesn't mean I'm not still interested in the h2h - pecco's a very strong qualifier, and it has just been a long long time since marc's had a competitive teammate in general. you'd expect the adaptation process to be quicker, but it's worth pointing out that marc still has to adapt to a new team, new crew chief and all that. broadly speaking I'd still expect a rider of his calibre in that situation to be ready to go from day one, however. it's not any cause for hedge betting (if your expectations for next season are 'marc will win the title', not 'marc will dominate the whole season and win the title by five million points'). and also like... luckily, qualifying still isn't the be all and end all in this sport... it's just worth keeping an eye on, y'know. bastianini is not a good point of reference lol, he's the one where realising he was on average qualifying worse than marc (and the two aprilias) made me go 'hm'. (despite his reputation for being a poor qualifier, I suppose his existence is useful in showing what a superb job jorge and pecco are doing in being extremely consistent with their qualifying.) with marc, he has a very strong track record as a qualifier so like... we know he can do it. but we still don't know whether he will do it. that's the joy of following sports live, sometimes you just have to take things as they come

On September 7, 1996, at 11:15 p.m. (PDT), Tupac Shakur, a 25-year-old American rapper, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The shooting occurred when the car carrying Shakur was stopped at a red light at East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane.[2] Shakur was in Marion "Suge" Knight's car, who was also injured in the shooting. Although Knight was only grazed by a bullet in the shooting, Shakur died from his injuries on September 13, 1996, six days after he was shot.
Shakur was struck by four rounds fired from a .40-calibre Glock:[1] two in the chest, one in the arm, and one in the thigh.[3] He died from his wounds six days later.
On September 29, 2023, 27 years later, Duane "Keefe D" Davis was arrested after being indicted by a grand jury for the first-degree murder of Shakur.[4][5]
Prior events
Tupac Shakur attended the Bruce Seldon vs. Mike Tyson boxing match with Marion "Suge" Knight, the head of Death Row Records, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. After leaving the match, one of Knight's associates, Trevon "Tre" Lane, a member of the M.O.B. Pirus gang based in Compton, California, spotted Orlando "Baby Lane" Anderson, from the rival South Side Compton Crips gang, in the MGM Grand lobby.[6] Earlier that year, in July 1996, Anderson and a group of South Side Crips attempted to rob Lane in a Foot Locker store at the Lakewood Center mall in Lakewood, California.
Lane told Shakur, who in turn attacked Anderson in the lobby. Shakur asked Anderson if he was from the "South" (South Side Crips) and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.[6] Shakur and Knight's entourage assisted in assaulting Anderson. The fight, which was captured on the MGM Grand's video surveillance, was broken up by hotel security.[7]
After the brawl, Shakur returned to his hotel, the Luxor Las Vegas. He disclosed to girlfriend Kidada Jones his involvement in the Anderson fight, previously having promised to return to her after entering the MGM Grand and having her stay in a vehicle. Shakur left with Knight in a BMW sedan after changing clothes and went to Club 662, which was owned by Knight, to perform at a charity concert.[8][9]
Minutes before the shooting, Shakur's friend Leonard Jefferson captured an infamous image of him in the vehicle with Knight.[10] This image ended up being one of the last images of Shakur.
Shooting and aftermath
Tumblr media
East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane intersection, 2012
At 11:00–11:05 p.m. (PDT), Shakur and Knight were halted on Las Vegas Boulevard by officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Bike Patrol for playing the car stereo too loudly and not having license plates. The plates were found in the trunk of Knight's car. The party was released a few minutes later without being cited.[11][12] At 11:10 p.m., while they were stopped at a red light at the intersection of East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in front of the Maxim Hotel, a vehicle occupied by two women pulled up on their left side. Shakur, who was talking through the window of his brand new 1996 BMW 750iL,[13] exchanged words with the two women and invited them to go to Club 662.[12]
At 11:15 p.m., a white, four-door, late-model Cadillac pulled up to Knight's right side. The shooter, seated at the back of the Cadillac, rolled down the window and rapidly fired gunshots from a .40 S&W Glock 22 at Shakur's BMW. Shakur was hit four times: twice in the chest, once in the arm, and once in the thigh. One of the bullets went into Shakur's right lung.[14] Knight was hit in the head by fragmentation.[15]
Shakur's bodyguard, Frank Alexander, stated that when he was about to ride along with Shakur in Knight's car, Shakur asked him to drive Jones's car instead, in case they needed additional vehicles from Club 662 back to their hotel. Alexander reported in his documentary, Before I Wake, that shortly after the assault, one of the convoy's cars followed the assailant, but he never heard from the occupants.[16] Yaki Kadafi was riding in the car behind Shakur with bodyguards at the time of the shooting and, along with members of the Death Row entourage, refused to cooperate with police.[17]
Despite Knight's injuries and his vehicle having a flat tire, he was able to drive Shakur and himself a mile from the site to Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue. They were again pulled over by the Bike Patrol, who alerted paramedics through radio.[18] After arriving on the scene, police and paramedics took Knight and Shakur to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.[19] They were pulled over just a short distance from the MGM Grand, where their evening had begun.[18]
Gobi Rahimi, a Death Row music video director who visited Shakur at the hospital, later reported that he received news from a Death Row marketing employee that the shooters had called the record label and threatened Shakur.[19] Gobi told Las Vegas police, but said they claimed to be understaffed.[19] No attackers came to the hospital.[19] Shakur said he was dying while being carried into the emergency room.
At the hospital, Shakur was heavily sedated, was placed on life support machines, and was ultimately put under a medically-induced coma after repeatedly trying to get out of bed. He was visited by Jones and regained consciousness when she played Don McLean's "Vincent" on the CD player next to his bed. According to Jones, Shakur moaned, and his eyes were "filled with mucus and swollen." Jones told Shakur that she loved him.
Knight was released from the hospital the day following the shooting on September 8, but did not speak until September 11. He told officers he "heard something, but saw nothing" the night of the shooting. A spokesman for the officers said Knight's statement did nothing to help the investigation.[18] Officers at the time of Shakur's hospitalization reported having no leads. Sgt. Kevin Manning said during the week that officers did not receive "a whole lot of cooperation" from Shakur's entourage.[20]
Rahimi and members of Shakur's group, Outlawz, guarded Shakur while he stayed in the hospital due to their fear that whoever shot Shakur "was gonna come finish him off." Rahimi mentioned the possibility that Outlawz brought weapons with them.[21] While in the critical care unit on the afternoon of Friday, September 13, 1996, Shakur died of respiratory failure that led to cardiac arrest after the removal of his right lung. Doctors attempted to revive him but could not stop the hemorrhaging. His mother, Afeni, made the decision to cease medical treatment.[14] He was pronounced dead at 4:03 p.m.
In 2014, a police officer who claimed he witnessed Shakur's last moments said Shakur refused to state who shot him. When the officer asked Shakur if he saw the person or people who shot him, Shakur responded by saying, "Fuck you" to the officer as his last words.[22] Paramedics and other officers present at the scene did not report hearing Shakur say those words, nor did Knight or Alexander, who were also present.[23]
Investigative reports on the murder
One year after the shooting, Sgt. Kevin Manning, who headed the investigation, told Las Vegas Sun investigative reporter Cathy Scott that Shakur's murder "may never be solved." The case slowed early in the investigation, he said, as few new clues came in and witnesses clammed up. Manning stated that the investigation was at a standstill.[24] E.D.I. Mean, a collaborator of Shakur's and a member of Outlawz, said he was positive law enforcement knew "what happened" and added, "This is America. We found bin Laden."[21]
In 2002, the Los Angeles Times published a two-part story by Chuck Philips, titled "Who Killed Tupac Shakur?" based on a year-long investigation. Philips reported that "the shooting was carried out by a Compton gang called the South Side Crips to avenge the beating of one of its members by Shakur a few hours earlier. Orlando Anderson, the Crip whom Shakur had attacked, fired the fatal shots. Las Vegas police considered Anderson a suspect and interviewed him only once, briefly. Anderson was killed nearly two years later in an unrelated gang shooting." Philips's article also implicated East Coast rappers, including The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac's rival at the time, and several New York City criminals.[11]
The second article in Philips' series[25] assessed the murder investigation and said that Las Vegas police had mismanaged the probe. His article enumerated the missteps of the Las Vegas police as follows: (1) discounting the fight that occurred just hours before the shooting, in which Shakur was involved in beating Anderson in the MGM Grand lobby; (2) failing to follow up with a member of Shakur's entourage who witnessed the shooting, who told Las Vegas police he could probably identify one or more of the assailants but was killed before being interviewed; and (3) failing to follow up on a lead from a witness who spotted a white Cadillac similar to the car from which the fatal shots were fired and in which the shooters escaped.
Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper, reported in 2011 that the FBI released documents as a result of a Freedom of Information Act request, revealing its investigation of the Jewish Defense League for extorting protection money from Shakur and other rappers after making death threats against them.[26][27] In 2017, Knight claimed he might have been the target of the attack that killed Shakur, arguing that it was a hit on him as a staged coup to seize control of Death Row Records.[28]
Witnesses
At the time of the shooting, an entourage of around ten automobiles was following Knight and Shakur's vehicle. The year following the shooting, Knight stated during an ABC Primetime Live interview that he did not know who had shot Shakur but would never tell officers if he did.[29]
Kadafi was involved in a scuffle with officers two days following the shooting, after they pulled over a motorist with whom he was acquainted, and he protested. Kadafi left Las Vegas days after Shakur's death, traveling to Atlanta and Los Angeles before settling in New Jersey, where his relatives lived. In that time, Compton investigators assembled mug shots of several gang members, which included Anderson, and hand-delivered them to Las Vegas. Manning said detectives called Kadafi's lawyer to set up a meeting with the rapper so that he could be shown the pictures. According to Manning, the calls were not returned. Officers did not try to locate Kadafi, who was fatally shot in a housing project in Irvington, New Jersey, in November 1996, two months after Shakur's shooting.[30]
Mean and Alexander told the Times in early 1997 that they had never been asked by Las Vegas police to view photos of possible suspects in the case, despite having observed the shooting and having seen the men in the car from which the shots were fired. In an interview with Alexander conducted by Las Vegas police on March 19, 1997, he was shown a series of eight photo lineups, but was unable to identify any suspects from them. Mean claimed to have seen all four men in the vehicle, while Alexander reported seeing the face of the suspect who shot Shakur. In his March 1997 police interview, Alexander said that he only saw the occupants of the shooter's car in "more of a profile." Las Vegas police disputed the pair's account of what they had reported to the officers the night of the shooting.[31]
In the USA Network documentary Unsolved, broadcast in 2018, Duane "Keefe D" Davis, a Crips gang leader in California and Anderson's uncle, claimed to have been in the car, specifically in the front passenger seat, with Tupac's murderer when the shots were fired. He declined to name the shooter, citing "street code."[32] Despite this, he stated that the car was driven by Terrence "T-Brown" Brown and that Anderson and DeAndrae "Dre" Smith were sitting in the backseat of the car, all of whom were South Side Crips and are now deceased. He also stated that the shooter was sitting in the backseat.[33][34] In 2016, a M.O.B. Piru and former Death Row bodyguard named James "Mob James" McDonald claimed he saw Anderson and other South Side Crips pull up near Club 662 in a white Cadillac and were briefly parked nearby prior to the shooting of Suge's BMW.[35]
According to Radar Online, Keefe D stated that after waiting near Club 662, they went to a Liquor Barn store and they then proceeded to make their way to The Carriage House hotel. On their way there, they noticed the Death Row caravan.[36][37]
Arrest and trial of Duane Davis
On July 18, 2023, the Las Vegas Police Department executed a search warrant in connection with Shakur's murder.[38] The search was conducted in a home in Henderson, Nevada, and it was stated that the search was connected to the investigation into Shakur's death.[39] It was later revealed that the home belonged to the wife of Duane "Keefe D" Davis. Davis was subsequently arrested in connection with Tupac's murder on the morning of September 29, 2023.[40] He was held without bail and charged with murder. He pleaded not guilty on November 2, 2023 in Las Vegas.[41]
On November 7, 2023, Judge Carli Kierny for the Clark County District Court scheduled for Davis' trial to begin on June 3, 2024.[42] On January 9, 2024, during a court status check, Davis was granted $750,000 bail and allowed house arrest.[43] A second status check was held on February 20, 2024, during which it was agreed that Davis' trial would be delayed to November 4, 2024.[44][45] Despite being granted bail and house arrest, Davis remains incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center

In case you were wondering how Pedro went from fighting for the podium to fighting for a Top10
Interview here
“For those who are looking for results, the ‘Shark’s’ soufflé has begun to deflate, ignoring the fact that we are dealing with a rookie of only 20 years in MotoGP, where the best in the world compete, and who has also had the task of becoming KTM’s number one rider in just a few kilometres. The Austrian factory is delighted with his talent and dedication, so much so that it gives him extra responsibility in the development of its bike, which is not suitable for a rookie in the top class. And he accepts it, because he wants to make history, because he does not hide and because he is fully involved.’’
About his Friday in Silverstone:
“I had to do a check in FP1, another in FP2 to decide what we were going to do for tomorrow, we lost a lot of time and when I went out for the ‘time attack’ with the bike that supposedly had made me feel better in FP1 it wasn’t even calibrated or anything, I lacked power, I had too much traction control, I had too many things…”
AS asked the #31 if he is perhaps not taking on too much responsibility within KTM for a rookie in the category. Take a look at his thoughtful and ambitious response: “Many times you are forced to grow before you want. What are you going to say to life? No? Things happen like that, and that’s it. I take everything I can, I try to help as much as I can, the only downside I see with that is that I need more time than the others, because I tested that exhaust one day in Valencia, I haven’t tried it again; the two things I have tried on the engine I tried in Malaysia and I haven’t tried them again; of course, it took me all day to do that, and then to understand what I needed to go fast, which is the biggest question I have now.”

Having fun thinking about conversations between Miles & Phoenix in my little rivals with benefits fic-verse, because calibrating!Miles cannot? have a conversation? with Phoenix Wright? without coming off as deeply weird. Weirder than usual, I mean.
It's pissing rain. Aargh. But maybe -
"Edgeworth!"
"Gah!" Edgeworth jumps a mile, which is super weird because Phoenix is halfway across the lobby from him.
"Hey - you okay?"
Edgeworth is flustered. "Wright. Yes. I'm all right, Wright. Right. I..."
The situation is now actively embarrassing. Phoenix pushes through.
"Oh... kay. Look, any chance I can get a ride home?"
"What??" Edgeworth jumps another mile, and Phoenix has no idea why Edgeworth is acting like this.
"It's raining. My bike. You know."
"Yes. Yes. I see. I..."
And now Edgeworth is like, how do? Because the answer clearly has to be 'no', except how does he say that without sounding like an asshole, and also why does he care if Wright thinks he's an asshole?
So he could say, "No," and then just leave, and then feel like a shit and also probably see Wright the next day and Wright will be mad at him, not acceptable--
Or he could say, "No, but I'll pay for your taxi," and then be completely flummoxed when Wright gets really mad about that, like, why is he mad at Miles? Miles is helping? Miles offered him money to not be wet? Why was that not an acceptable option? Why is Wright madder about that than if Miles had just said no?
Or he could say, "All right," and then once they're in the car, he can turn to Wright and say, "I just need you to understand that we are not going to have sex." And Phoenix will be like ?????? Who the fuck does he think he is? I just wanted a ride home?
The powerful awkwardness~~

Basement riding.
It is not a fun activity. It is a classic example of delayed gratification. Something unpleasant now to make something pleasant later.
Two sessions this week. Both I found really hard to hold the numbers. First session I just could not hold to the targets and skipped a couple of the sprint sections. Second session I noticed that there were two very different power numbers.
My old Turbo trainer has a power curve and a dongle that talks to an app on my phone. It reports a power number and my training app uses that. I also have a power meter on the bike. Usually they are pretty close. Last night I saw that the bike power meter was 40 or 50 Watts higher than the turbo's number. So I guess I was pushing over the "real" target numbers.
Last night I decided to use the power value off the bike computer instead of the turbo and surprise it was fine.
The turbo can be pretty good, but the pressure on the tire roller and air pressure in the tire affects the friction and the Watts value. There is a calibration feature, but that always throws off the time display of the segments.
I guess I was not doing as bad as I thought.
Still I cannot pass that washing machine.
Soon the weather will break and the days will be long enough to ride outside in the week after work. Then I should start booking bigger distances.
I just passed 1000km for the year to date.

Part of the sports simulation series from the Oliver Twins (with Jet Bike Simulator being a personal favorite), this multi-platform racer published by Codemasters offers a top-down perspective akin to the classic Super Sprint. Unlike the former though, it's a two-car race where the player takes control of one car, while the computer or a second human player manages the other.
The twelve races each span three laps, propelling the player to the next track upon victory. However, completion of all courses prompts a congratulatory message before abruptly restarting from the first track with the same difficulty level, diminishing the game's replay value. Alternatively, the game ends if the CPU crosses the finish line first.
Despite this drawback, the title provides enjoyable gameplay, diverse tracks, and a satisfying level of challenge, albeit with occasional imbalances—some tracks are a breeze, while others prove nightmarishly difficult. The absence of four cars, as seen in Jetbike Simulator, is noted, leaving room for speculation on the decision.
Notably, the graphics, while not exceptional, are passable, but the sound design falls short. While the engine noise adheres to the expected standard, the sound produced by the cars when steering becomes excessively noisy, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the game. The impulse to mute the volume quickly arises, but it's impractical as the sound aids in steering calibration for navigating bends.
In conclusion, not a bad game, but hindered by flaws that prevent it from attaining the status of a classic 80s racer, at least on the Commodore 64.

Killing Me Softly Part Two: A Stay of Execution - Alexander 'Tig' Trager x Reader

Killing Me Softly Series:
Part One: Livid - You and Tig are at an impasse
Tumblr media
You don’t call him, and he doesn’t call you. Tig figures this is the way it dies. Not with a bang like he expected but with a silence so oppressive it strangles the life out of the only healthy relationship he’s ever known.
There’s no leeway from either side. As much as he doesn’t want to, he understands your point of view.
Luann had given you back your sanity after what Omar Ghanezi had done to you. She was the one that had found you, scrubbing your skin raw in one of the shower stalls at Cara Cara. You’d been freelancing for the three Ghanezi brothers because Cara Cara was just getting it’s footing, and Luann couldn’t give you enough hours to pay the rent. She was the one that patched you up in the aftermath, tending to the physical wounds and the ones that scarred your fucking soul because you couldn’t just forget shit like that. She had been the one to talk you down, when you had a 22. Calibre pressed to your temple because Omar Ghanezi had come at you again and this time it had ended with three bullets in his chest and one in his head. She’d been the one to give you an alibi, to help you bury his body on the outskirts of Charming.
Luann Delaney, the woman who had given you back your life, who’d lost her own in a fucking ditch at the edge of the road with her head caved in and her skirt hiked up because Georgie Caruso didn’t want the competition.
Tig didn’t like it any more than you did. She was an ally to the club, a partner in Cara Cara and Ottos’s old lady. She deserved better than this, but his hands were tied on the matter and until Clay gave the order, there was nothing he could do.
Now that Tig isn’t seeing you, he has a lot more free time on his hands and he throws himself into making all of the minuscule adjustments to his bike, that he’s been putting off. It’s exhausting and it’s time consuming, but it feels good to work with his hands, to focus on something that doesn’t make his heart feel like it’s shattering into a million pieces.
There’s always been something about the way you enter the room that alters the air space, Tig doesn’t know what it is but it usually makes him feel just a little lighter, puts a bounce in his step. When he glances over his shoulder and sees you standing there in the doorway of his garage, he feels something inside of him die because he knows that this is the end and despite everything, he’s not prepared for it. He turns his attention back to the bike, but his hearts not in it anymore, his fingers fumble on the spanner and his focus wavers.
The scent of your perfume floods him, that soothing lavender with the soft citrus undertone, it flushes through his system, igniting all of his nerve endings because his mind might know what’s happening, but his body is already responding to you the way it always does. He startles when he feels you wrap your arms around his waist, the weight of your cheek in between his shoulder blades and the softness of your curves hugging him.
He sets down the wrench, his oil-stained palms coming to rest over yours, his fingers settling within the grooves of your knuckles. He doesn’t want to turn around because he’s too terrified of breaking the spell, of snapping the fragile connection that seems to be wavering in between the two of you.
“When Luann died it was one of the worst days of my life.” You tell him, your voice muffled by the fabric of his overalls. “It felt like someone had taken a hammer to my world and smashed all of those pieces that I worked so hard trying to put back together again.”
Tig knows, he was there that night that Unser came to tell you. He’d held you as you fell apart, tears staining his kutte as he cradled you close. He’d felt each and every one of those violent sobs as they wracked your body.
“I wasn’t thinking the other night.” You confess, closing your eyes and exhaling deeply. “I heard he was back in the country, and it was like I was back there again in that moment and all of that rage…” You trailed off, searching for the words but finding them inadequate. “I know I don’t need to explain it to you.”
“No.” he says finally, inclining his head in your direction. “You don’t.”
“You didn’t deserve the shit I gave you. I know you were protecting me, from jail, from the club, from Clay…” The weight of it hangs in the air between the two of you, because in that time apart you realised Tig doesn’t want to stop you completing your goal, he just wants you to do it safety.
“His time is coming.” Tig promises as he turns to face you. His hands cup your face, his calloused thumbs ghosting over the blush of your cheeks. He smells like motor oil and eucalyptus, a combination that somehow draws you in. “It’s a stay of execution, not a pardon.”
“I know.” You tell him, the edges of your mouth twitching up into a cryptic grin. “And I have some ideas on how to make his life as miserable as possible in the meantime.”
This is what he loves about you, the balance of darkness and the light, the fact that they co-exist in the same space, one complimenting the other. You’re resilient and clever, always thinking outside of the box. Tig knows you’ve found a way around the conundrum that you’ve been facing, something that doesn’t result in you ending up dead or behind bars.
“My beautiful feral girl.” He smiles, lips brushing over the corner of your mouth as he whispers against your skin. “Come inside and tell me all about it.”
Love Tig? Don’t miss any of his stories by joining the taglist here.

WORKING AT BRAWN GP (James part)
2/14, 2011
Name: James Vowles Job Title: Race Strategy Engineer Age: 30 Lives: Oxford Hobbies: Motorbikes, Motorsport, Mountain Biking
Q. What studies did you complete before you worked in Formula One?
A. I wasn't entirely sure where I wanted to go in life when I was younger. I can say I was studious as most of my school reports stated James is clearly very intelligent, when he applies himself! I completed most of my education in Geneva at an International School and at about 16 years old, I started to dedicate myself a bit more, particularly enjoying Maths, Physics and Computing. This led me to return to the UK to study Computer Science at the University Of East Anglia as a stepping stone until I figured out where I was destined. I had done my fair share of karting to this point and loved motorsport. When I was growing up Sundays were mostly spent watching Formula One races with a friend who truly was like a brother to me. Until that point I considered motorsport a far fetched dream and after sending out CVs to all the F1 teams, with zero positive results (including one CV actually sent back to me!), I decided to dedicate my life to both getting into and then being successful in F1. I started working weekends at Snetterton Race Circuit, which was near my University, with Formula Ford and GT teams, building up both experience and contacts, until I finished my degree in 2000. From there, I was one of 20 students lucky enough to be selected for the first Cranfield University MSc in Motorsport Engineering course. The course was a baptism of fire, with the other 19 students being of extremely high calibre, all with Engineering backgrounds, most of who now work in either F1 or GP2. In September 2001 I graduated with a distinction, picking up a Prodrive award for the design of a school racing car.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Q. Where did you work before Brawn GP?
A. In terms of motorsport, I started where all budding engineers should – scrapping rubber from GT racing slicks in a cold garage on a Sunday morning! When I was still doing my MSc in 201, Ray Rowan, who ran successful FIA Sportcars and F3 teams, gave me my first engineering role. I started as the Data Engineer for the F3 team and after a few months Ray felt comfortable enough to let me run the programme and engineer the car
from then onwards. That same year I became the Senior Race Engineer on their Le Mans programme, taking the Pilbeam LM675 car to Le Mans. In 2001, I applied for an Assistant Race Engineer position with British American Racing, and whilst I wasn抰 accepted for that role, I made enough of an impression for a new role to be created, and my first goal of entering Formula One was achieved. In 2002, I started work on a Race Strategy system and shortly afterwards joined the Race Engineering department and started travelling to the races. My role has expanded over the years combining Race Engineering duties, Friday car running with Anthony Davidson as our third driver in 2004 and 2006 and of course Race Strategy. In 2008 I was privileged enough to start working with Ross Brawn and we haven looked back since.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Q. Describe your job on a day-to-day basis?
A. Prior to each race, I gather all the historical data, patterns (traffic, overtaking, track changes) and team performance data. Brawn GP has a number of custom simulation packages which we run to ensure that we gain a good understanding of the running plan for the weekend and the estimated tyre performance, highlighting any potential problems and considerations. During Friday we will build a picture on our competitors performance, tyre usage, weaknesses and strengths. I work closely with the senior race engineers to ensure we get the most out of our car and modify the run plans if required during sessions. The Friday data then allows us to determine a qualifying plan including which tyre compounds and in what order and just as importantly, the final qualifying fuel figure. We always create several plans, depending on where our competitors are relative to us in each qualifying session. On Sunday morning Ross and I sit down and discuss all of the potential race scenarios and plan actions for various events such as safety car deployment and accidents. This planning is the key to solid race strategy as we may only have a matter of seconds to react to incidents on track. During the race, the decisions we make are what order to run the tyre compounds, what the next stop lap will be, what to do in case on safety cars on every lap, who we are fighting, and what we can do to defend or beat them. We are continuously updating the driver with his targets, both lap time and position to allow them to manage their tyres and the gaps to other cars around and ultimately their pace. Following the race I will analyse all of the decisions and data gathered from the event, understand what we did right, and what we could have done differently and improved on. This analysis is then used to build a further understanding with regards to our competitors for the following event.
Q. What do you like about working in Formula One?
A. Formula One is unique – it's my passion, my hobby, my life. Outside of the race weekend, the entire team is trying to work harder, faster and better than the nine other teams to ensure that by the next race, we do a better job than them. The business solely
focuses on a single event, which lasts around two hours roughly every other week, where the result of hard work and dedication can be seen the world over. The other aspect is the reactivity of Brawn GP and how quickly we can react to other competitors, rule changes, and problems. We are able to draw, manufacture and run components that were first discussed only a few weeks ago.
Q. What's the best thing about working for Brawn GP?
A. For me, it's all about the people you work with, the team work, the development. The race engineering group has been together for a long time and is very close which makes for a great working environment. I think it抯 fair to say the engineers spend nearly as much time together as we do with our respective partners! The other reason is Ross Brawn who has changed the way we work together as a team. It's a privilege to work alongside him during a race weekend.
Q. What’s the most challenging aspect of your job?
A. The first challenge is making a strategic decision during qualifying or the race, sometimes in just a few seconds, based on as little or as much data you have available at that time. The difference between making a good or bad decision can be as much as several positions by the end of the race and therefore having the most accurate data possible at all times is key to this. The second is managing driver expectation and performance over a race weekend. During the race the goal is to work with the engineers to give the driver targets to hit, manage his pace, and keep an eye on your competitors to understand both their performance and usage of tyres.
Q. What has been the best moment of the 2009 season so far?
A. There have been several. The first would be when we took the BGP 001 car to Silverstone watching Jenson drive a few laps to ensure all was well before we shipped the car to its first test. The relief from where the team was just a few months ago was indescribable. However my best moment in 2009 was, without question, Monaco. A one- two result from Jenson and Rubens is an incredible achievement. More specifically from a strategic perspective, we had the right strategy, putting the cars first and third on the grid. We managed a difficult tyre situation and reacted quickly to the dynamic race to bring the cars home first and second. At the end of the race I was standing just next to the podium, Ross Brawn just behind me with his elbows on my shoulders watching Jenson running down the straight after leaving his car in Parc Ferme. It's a memory that will stay with me forever.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Doctor Who and Victoria actress Jenna Coleman have been announced as key cast on Northern England-set action thriller Jackdaw, the debut feature of Jamie Childs, whose drama directing credits include The Sandman and His Dark Materials.
Jackson-Cohen, whose recent credits include Emily, The Lost Daughter, stars as a former motocross champion and army veteran, now caring for his younger brother.
Broke, he agrees to do an open water pick up of a mysterious illegal package in the North Sea. A resulting double cross and his brother’s disappearance set him and his old bike on a violent nocturnal odyssey through England’s northern rust belt.
Anton has fully financed the production with the support of North East Screen and will launch worldwide sales at the upcoming EFM.
The company has released a first look of Jackson-Cohen in the film which was shot in various locations across England’s Northeast coast.
Jamie Childs, who also wrote the screenplay, said inspiration for the film grew out of a desire to create a thriller set in in his home region.
“We see so many American films set in atmospheric towns that don’t tie themselves to local, kitchen-sink stories. I thought, why don’t we do this in Britain?,” he said.
“We set out to push the envelope of what was possible stylistically and tonally in the region. Its clash of pastoral and industrial worlds is the perfect setting for an exciting, pulpy chase thriller,” he said.
The film is produced by Sebastian Raybaud (Greenland, Canary Black) and Callum Grant for Anton, Kate Glover (47 Meters Down, Black Mirror) and Jamie Childs. Childs directs alongside his regular DOP Will Baldy (The Sandman, Willow).
“We’re thrilled to be part of Jamie’s feature debut. The calibre of our cast and crew speaks to the unique quality of his script and commercial vision for the project,” said Grant.
“Like Ridley and Tony Scott, Jamie grew up in the post-industrial heartland of this film and we are paying homage to their early work in Jackdaw. As an action piece, it will take audiences somewhere they haven’t been in contemporary British cinema.”
Stunt work on the film is being designed by industry leaders Dave Judge (Dune, Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) and Ian Van Temperly (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), with production design by Matt Gant (Gangs Of London, Shadow and Bone).
Casting was by Jessie Frost (Triangle of Sadness, Little Planet, Borg vs McEnroe).
Rounding out the cast are Vivienne Acheampong (The Sandman), Joe Blakemore and BAFTA Breakthrough Performer 2022 Leon Harrop.

so who wants to hear how much hassle i went through for gender affirming shoes?
so i came out as non-binary recently. the biggest issue i find as an amab person trying to find gender affirming clothes is shoes. just casually browsing tk maxx and i see them. a pair of boots that scream "i am neither masculine nor feminine. i am only sexy" and guess what, they are in my size baby. try on the right one and it fits like a glove. last pair in the shop and a good price too. i get them home and.... each shoe is a different size and the one i tried on was the correct size. the other shoe was too small.
given how much gender euphoria these boots gave me, i was reluctant to let them go but couldn't wear one of them. contacted tk maxx customer service and i'm told there's no way to check which stores will have the boots i'm looking for but i will have to return them. so i do and then the hunt is on. there's 6 tk maxx within a 20 mile radius of me and my only mode of transportation is a 1991 ridgeback bicycle.
during this time, the customer service woman i was chatting to said "there is no way to know which stores will have them let alone in your size. you'll have to phone them up first" i phone them up and none are helpful. luckily, i was ASAB: assigned stubborn at birth. so i made a game plan. i will plan a route that means i can hit up as many branches of tk maxx as possible per day over the course of 3 days. total milage i will have to do will be 70 miles and hit up at least 2 stores per day.
store 1. they had em, not in my size. 8 mile bike ride later store 2. they don't have them at all. 12 mile bike ride later store 3. have them but not in my size. 10 mile bike ride home
day 2. first bike ride was meant to be 8 miles but google maps keeps getting me lost so it was more like 12. store 4. have em but not in my size. 10 mile bike ride later and it's a store near my dad's. store 5. THEY FUCKING HAVE EM IN MY SIZE.
i am so fucking chuffed that i start crying while the cashier is ringing them up (sorry for that) just for the fuck of it, i decide to wear them around the shopping mall the tk maxx is located in..... as i'm putting them on, a middle aged woman comes up and compliments my outfit and starts telling me about her daughter and how happy it makes her to see LGBTQ+ folk living their best life and being happy. super fucking sweet. totally worth the 15 mile bike ride home (google maps is not calibrated for bicycle routes) with ripped tights. sorry to anyone who seen that.
so nearly 70 miles cycled in hot weather and humidity just for gender affirming shoes.
