thoughts on what's happening with camila please.
I'm not sure you'll like it, but here it goes...
I think people got all upset for no fucking reason. I think paid people took to social media and pointed something out, that THEY wanted people to pay attention to, it took off with her haters, and some of her fans suddenly became sheeple.
They fell right into the trap, without opening their eyes and paying attention to what was REALLY happening on that stage with her. If you go back and watch that performance, you'll see that there was, at the very least, 7 black and mixed race folks on that stage with her. Two on horns behind her, one on a drum thing to the side of her, and at a quick glance, at least four dancers.
Knowing that, do you honestly think all those people would have been fine with taking the stage with a white guy in "blackface"? I sure as hell don't. Do you honestly think the female dancer that came out beside the guy with the crappy spray tan, a woman of color, who has worked with him multiple times, and is one of her BFF's according to her own instagram page, would have been OK with said BFF and partner coming on stage in "blackface"? I sure as fuck don't. Calvit Jr. most likely choreographed that performance, and possibly was co-creative director as he has been with other Camila performances on Fallon. Do you honestly think he would have been fine with one of the dancers coming on stage in "blackface"? I don't.
People are blaming Camila for something she had absolutely nothing to do with. She wasn't backstage, before the performance, putting a ridiculous fake tan on that motherfucker. She didn't write that damn statement afterwards, either.
People really need to use their own damn heads, and pay attention to all the details...Not just the ones that are being shoved in their faces with bells and whistles. This "scandal" was CREATED for a reason, like most "scandals" in the Industry are. Unfortunately, people paid attention to the bells and whistles, instead of the truth that was right there surrounding her on that stage. What's new!!!

camz has always been linked to lauren. everytime the shippers used it everyone including us laughed. i don't think her pr bf have called her camz it's either camila or mila. to me this is roger trying to divert the attention that camz doesnt belong to lauren. she's not the only one who calls camila camz or it's a go ahead for anyone to use it. his daughter and maddie called her camz cams. calvit wrote he was with her for last year bday? he wrote to the moon x2 camila wrote i love u x2. lauren?
Camz's nickname will always be related to Lauren because IT WAS LAUREN WHO INVENTED IT in the first place. And yes, other people can also use it to call Camila like that but it WILL NEVER SOUND GOOD ON LIPS OTHER THAN LAUREN'S. That is something we can never deny. I believe that nicknames of that style only belong to the people who invent them.
OR
It was perhaps a request from Camila herself to get the attention of a certain green-eyed girl that she forgot or could not send her usual indirect birthday message.

How many people do you think fall for the shit Roger does on Camila her dad and sisters account? Like when Ale account was used it was 2am in Miami. But if Roger is in LA then it would be 11pm for him. Also ain't no way Camila appearing with Sara/Calvit with what they said and today with the caption a coincidence. Bet she's in the mv for that Camilo remix. Or we are getting that Camila, Scott, Sabath song all about him. But anyways watch them copy one one her mv for him. Sick of this fake shit.
How many people fall for this? All shawmilas for sure

Shannon Holtzapffel’s post on Instagram
He’s a director/choreographer and the woman with them is Staci Flood who appears to be a choreographer. Outfit appears to be the same as that green screen pic a few days back.
Is this for Latin Grammys? Is she filming something ahead of time? Usually if it’s her performances she uses Sara and Calvit as choreographers. Also tagged in the pic is a company working with the Latin Grammys.

We already established this, but the stans are truly insane. Saw one tweet: "SO I WOKE UP TO SHAWMILA CONTENT AND PEOPLE SAYING THAT SHAWN AND CAMILA WERE KISSING ON A ROOFTOP AND SARA AND CALVIT BEING WITH THEM IN MONTREAL..WOW TRULY A WIN FOR US" 'A win'? 'For us'? It's not a competition. They're not even thinking about the two people actually involved in this 'relationship',
That is really sad :/

121 Lifeline Reading Series - Sylvester by Georgette Heyer adapted by Christina Calvit dir Dorothy Milne. We did something different for the reading series that year. Instead of remounting past hits for an evening, we used it as an opportunity to try out new material. I was part of Sylvester; Or the Wicked Uncle, Christina Calvit returning to Georgette Heyer, after previously penning the Jeff Citation winning Pistols for Two and the Talisman Ring. Lifeline would eventually decide to give the script a full production in 2017. #retrospective #2016 #lifelinetheatre #sylvester #thewickeduncle #georgetteheyer #christinacalvit #dorothymilne #dogsandchildren (at Lifeline Theatre) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8mCpaNJemQ/?igshid=1ur40nln7m01w

Apparently according to Scott ig he is in Miami at Neon16 Studio. Nah, i call bullshit. Like just after Camila's ig with Calvit/Sara and what they said. Someone from her fanbase got a text from Sabath. Remember they showed Camila, Sabath, Mike, Scott in the studio together. And then pr stunt with him. And then this shit shows up. They are playing with her fandom this is another pr song coming from them. CS if this is real don't support that shit. We are fucking tired Roger give us solo Camila.😡
You know we doesn't have a dúo anymore but a trio

CALM DOWN, IT'S THE MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS WITH OUR FAVORITE DIVAS, DIVOS & FRESH NEW ARTISTS!
By DJ FR8-O
Tumblr media
The world's most unpredictable awards show just threw us another curveball. Hosting this year's hottest night in music is comedian and actor Sebastian Maniscalco. Yeah, never heard of him either, but the outspoken Italian is ready to bring the laughs and the chutzpah back into the VMAs. Joining him will be all our favorite divas, divos and fresh new artists who've been dominating our playlists over the last 12 months. This year's ceremony is going to be a battle of the pop princesses with both Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift snatching 10 nominations each. Who will take home the most Moon Persons is yet to be seen, but here are my top picks.
BEST NEW ARTIST Ava Max Billie Eilish H.E.R. Lil Nas X Rosalía
Tumblr media
Lizzo It may seem like Lizzo just came out of nowhere and went straight to the front of the class, but she's been schooling her fans since she was 14 years old. In an industry that puts so much pressure on image and tries to hide flaws with photoshop and camera tricks, Lizzo celebrates her curves and literally puts it all out there. Her confidence is only overshadowed by her talent, with a stream of hits and sold-out shows over the past year.
BEST COLLABORATION BTS (featuring Halsey): "Boy with Luv" Lil Nas X (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus): "Old Town Road (Remix)" Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello: "Señorita" Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber: "I Don't Care" Taylor Swift (featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco): "Me!"
Tumblr media
Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper: "Shallow" As if she wasn't jaw-droppingly gifted all on her own, no one has ever brought the on-screen chemistry as Gaga and Cooper did in the big-screen blockbuster A Star is Born. The heat was so intense that it raised suspicions of the two being more than just co-stars. While those rumors have since been squashed, I still get a few raised hairs every time I hear their duet from the diva's Oscar-winning film.
BEST POP 5 Seconds of Summer: "Easier" Cardi B and Bruno Mars: "Please Me" Billie Eilish: "Bad Guy" Ariana Grande: "Thank U, Next" Khalid: "Talk" Taylor Swift: "You Need to Calm Down"
Tumblr media
Jonas Brothers: "Sucker" Everyone has their opinion of what makes a great pop song, or in this case a great pop video, but I'm sure you would agree that Nick soaking in a claw foot tub and Joe tied up in his underwear would be somewhere at the top of the list. Not only does this earworm bury deep into your brain with its throwback vibe and razor-sharp hook, but watching these guys all grown up and having more fun than ever makes this clip as timeless as the track. Did I mention the bathtub?
BEST HIP HOP 21 Savage (featuring J. Cole): "A Lot" Cardi B: "Money" DJ Khaled (featuring Nipsey Hussle and John Legend): "Higher" Lil Nas X (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus): "Old Town Road (Remix)" Travis Scott (featuring Drake): "Sicko Mode"
Tumblr media
2 Chainz (featuring Ariana Grande): "Rule the World" Is there nothing that Ari can't do? It's hard to tell who the actual guest artist is on this track, but are we really surprised? Even during her early days on "Bang Bang," she managed to hold her own with two powerhouse divas. Now it looks like she's the one bringing the noise.
BEST R&B Childish Gambino: "Feels Like Summer" H.E.R. (featuring Bryson Tiller): "Could've Been" Alicia Keys: "Raise a Man" Normani (featuring 6lack): "Waves" Anderson .Paak (featuring Smokey Robinson): "Make It Better"
Ella Mai: "Trip" After a 13 year absence from the show, the R&B category is back! Maybe it's because of the genre's resurgence into mainstream music; but whatever the reason, it's opening doors to a whole new pool of talent that may otherwise be overlooked, like this incredibly gifted and well-deserved artist.
BEST LATIN Anuel AA and Karol G: "Secreto" Benny Blanco, Tainy, Selena Gomez and J Balvin: "I Can't Get Enough" Daddy Yankee (featuring Snow): "Con Calma" Maluma: "Mala Mía" Rosalía and J Balvin (featuring El Guincho): "Con Altura"
Tumblr media
Bad Bunny (featuring Drake): "Mia" Watching this video reminded me of growing up in Miami, and showing up at the impromptu house party that someone hosted while their parents were away. Of course, Drake never showed up to any of them, but of all the nominees, this one captures what everyday Latin life is really about, minus all the half-naked women.
BEST DANCE The Chainsmokers (featuring Bebe Rexha): "Call You Mine" Clean Bandit (featuring Demi Lovato): "Solo" DJ Snake (featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna and Cardi B): "Taki Taki" David Guetta, Bebe Rexha and J Balvin: "Say My Name" Marshmello and Bastille: "Happier"
Silk City and Dua Lipa: "Electricity" Music trends will come and go, but classic house will never go out of style. These guys took the essence of "Show Me Love" and "Finally" and weaved it into a track that's as fresh as it is nostalgic. Throw in Lipa's sultry vocals weaving a hypnotic melody and you've got yourself a dance anthem that no one can resist.
VIDEO FOR GOOD Jamie N Commons and Skylar Grey (featuring Gallant): "Runaway Train" Halsey: "Nightmare" The Killers: "Land of the Free" John Legend: "Preach" Lil Dicky: "Earth"
Tumblr media
Taylor Swift: "You Need to Calm Down" It can't be a coincidence that this category debuted the same year as this track. In a time when LGBTQ lives are being attacked – physically and politically – on the daily, it's refreshing and inspiring to see an artist take a stand and put her influence where her mouth is. Not only is the track brilliantly written, but I haven't seen that many LGBTQ icons together since the Tony Awards.
BEST DIRECTION Billie Eilish: "Bad Guy" (Director: Dave Meyers) FKA Twigs: "Cellophane" (Director: Andrew Thomas Huang) Ariana Grande: "Thank U, Next" (Director: Hannah Lux Davis) Lil Nas X (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus): "Old Town Road (Remix)" (Director: Calmatic) LSD: "No New Friends" (Director: Dano Cerny)
Taylor Swift: "You Need to Calm Down" (Director: Taylor Swift and Drew Kirsch) Okay, I know what you're thinking, "this queen must be a huge T-Swift fan, so he's voting for her in every category." Quite the contrary, actually. I've always been pretty lukewarm when it comes to the country-turned-pop singer, but any director that could wrangle that many divas in one video shoot and not end up on the nightly news deserves a trophy.
BEST VISUAL EFFECTS DJ Khaled (featuring SZA): "Just Us" (Visual Effects: GloriaFX, Sergii Mashevskyi and Anatolli Kuzmytskyi) Billie Eilish: "When the Party's Over" (Visual Effects: Ryan Ross and Andres Jaramillo) FKA Twigs: "Cellophane" (Visual Effects: Analog) Ariana Grande: "God Is a Woman" (Visual Effects: Fabrice Lagayette at Mathematic) LSD: "No New Friends" (Visual Effects: Ethan Chancer)
Taylor Swift (featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco): "Me!" (Visual Effects: Loris Paillier and Lucas Salton for BUF VFX) I'd hand over the award for this vid just for the visual of a smoldering Brendon Urie alone, but if you've seen the clip you know the allure is more than just his pretty face. Reminiscent of a modern Moulin Rouge, the screen oozes with splashes of color, action and special effects galore, from start to finish.
Tumblr media
BEST ART DIRECTION BTS (featuring Halsey): "Boy with Luv" (Art Directors: JinSil Park and BoNa Kim (MU:E) Ariana Grande: "7 Rings" (Art Director: John Richoux) Lil Nas X (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus): "Old Town Road (Remix)" (Art Director: Christian Zollenkopf for Prettybird) Taylor Swift: "You Need to Calm Down" (Art Director: Brittany Porter) Kanye West and Lil Pump (featuring Adele Givens): "I Love It" (Art Director: Tino Schaedler)
Tumblr media
Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello: "Señorita" (Art Director: Tatiana Van Sauter) In a world where videos are trying to be bigger, brighter and bolder than the last, it takes a good eye to keep things in the background simple and let the singers take the spotlight. Subtlety is an art in itself, especially when it's meant to help a love story unfold before your eyes. My only note is that we need to see more of Shawn in his Calvin Klein's next time.
BEST CHOREOGRAPHY FKA Twigs: "Cellophane" (Choreographer: Kelly Yvonne) LSD: "No New Friends" (Choreographer: Ryan Heffington) Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello: "Señorita" (Choreographer: Calvit Hodge) Rosalía and J Balvin (featuring El Guincho): "Con Altura" (Choreographer: Charm La'Donna) Solange: "Almeda" (Choreographers: Maya Taylor and Solange Knowles)
BTS (featuring Halsey): "Boy with Luv" (Choreographers: Son Sungdeuk and Quick Crew) K-pop isn't exactly on heavy rotation on my playlists, but I must give credit where credit is due. Sure, the competition shows some beautiful moves of their own, but this vid is all about color, dancing, and more dancing. Don't ask me what they're singing about, but I could tell they were having fun while singing it.
ARTIST OF THE YEAR Cardi B Billie Eilish Halsey Jonas Brothers Shawn Mendes
Tumblr media
Ariana Grande This may seem like I'm playing faves here, but if you take a look at all the work the other nominees have put out in the last year together, they still don't add up to the number of albums, singles, videos and collaborations Ari has checked off her to-do list. While it may not have been ground-breaking, and there's no doubt this award will actually go to Billie Eillish, no one can argue that this diva has put in more blood, sweat and tears this year than any other artist in the biz.
SONG OF THE YEAR Drake: "In My Feelings" Ariana Grande: "Thank U, Next" Jonas Brothers: "Sucker" Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper: "Shallow" Lil Nas X (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus): "Old Town Road (Remix)"
Taylor Swift: "You Need to Calm Down" Yeah, I'm going there again because this is an anthem we all need to hear and remember; not just this year, but for many years to come until the tables are turned, the planets are realigned and the haters finally take their seats for good.
VIDEO OF THE YEAR 21 Savage (featuring J. Cole): "A Lot" Billie Eilish: "Bad Guy" Ariana Grande: "Thank U, Next" Jonas Brothers: "Sucker" Lil Nas X (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus): "Old Town Road (Remix)"
Taylor Swift: "You Need to Calm Down" The same goes for the video! While others might have tried to battle hate with hate, Swift chose instead to take the high road, celebrate our community, shine a spotlight on some of our favorite LGBTQ icons and hold an honest mirror up at those with narrow minds. One little music video won't change the world overnight, but if it can inspire a new generation to think differently than the one before them, then that's something to get excited about.
The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Prudential Center in Newark on August 26th at 8 p.m. ET.

Rodney, Mississippi.......a bonafide, uninhabited ghost town! Rodney is a former city in Jefferson County in southwest Mississippi, approximately 32 miles (51 km) northeast of Natchez. Rodney was founded in 1828, and in the 19th century, it was only three votes away from becoming the capital of the Mississippi Territory.[3] Its population declined to nearly zero after the Mississippi River changed course. The Rodney Center Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today a small number of inhabitants remain[4] but the area is considered a ghost town and reliable data is hard to find as the town is not listed as a separate entity by the census bureau.[5] Rodney was originally settled by the French in January 1763 and named Petit Gouffre,[3] meaning "Little Gulf". As a result of the French and Indian War, the area was taken by Great Britain. Spain would later control this area after taking West Florida from the British in 1781. Spain would hold the site until selling it to Thomas Calvit in 1798. The city was later renamed Rodney in 1828 in honor of Judge Thomas Rodney.[6] In June 1863, forty Union hand-picked cavalry troops of the 5th Illinois Cavalry under the command of Captain Calvin Mann, were disembarked in Rodney to launch a surprise raid across the state to the Confederate-controlled Mobile and Ohio Railroad in Alabama. The Confederates, pursuing them after their raid on Brookhaven and the New Orleans, Jackson and Great Northern railroad facilities there, would later capture the Union troops at a skirmish near Rocky Creek outside of Ellisville, Jones County, Mississippi on June 26, 1863. After the fall of Vicksburg, the Union Navy was in charge of the Mississippi River. The gunboat Rattler was stationed in front of Rodney to ensure the federal control of this important town, and aware that the area was not completely secure, the admiral left strict orders that no sailor was to leave the ship. But on Sunday September 12, 1863, 22 sailors, contrary to these orders, a lieutenant, and a captain left the ship dressed in their best uniforms, and quietly seated themselves amongst the Presbyterian Church congregation. As the second hymn was being sung, a Lt. Allen of the Confederate Cavalry walked up the aisle to the pulpit. Apologizing to the Reverend Baker, he turned and announced that his men had surrounded the building and demanded the Yankee sailors surrender. One of the Yankee sailors jumped behind a door and took a shot at Lt. Allen. A general melee broke out, and most of the citizens dove under their pews for safety and reputedly one Yankee sailor hid in the undergarments of his local southern girlfriend. One older lady, however, would not run. She stood up in her pew and shouted "Glory to God!" A skeleton crew had remained on board the Rattler, and, when they heard the commotion, began firing their guns at the church. The church and four homes were hit. The firing ceased once word was sent that the Confederates threatened to execute the prisoners. It was on this day that a cannonball lodged itself in the front wall of the Presbyterian Church. The Confederate Army had taken 17 prisoners, including the lieutenant and captain. The crew of the Rattler became the laughingstock of the nation, for it was the first time in history a small squad of cavalry captured the crew of an ironclad gunboat. (Local history tells us that the cannonball that is imbedded very high up in the front of the Church was placed there many years later. The original one had fallen out. Photos of the church in the 1930s [the one on this site] show no cannonball in the front of the church) To eliminate all Confederate presence in Rodney, Union infantrymen landed in Rodney and plundered almost every house in town. Citizens of Rodney later formed Company D. 22nd Mississippi infantry to fight against the Union army.

110 Pistols for Two - The Georgette Heyer Reading Series - adapted by Christina Calvit dir Dorothy Milne for Lifeline Theatre. In addition to our 3 mainstage shows and our 3 kid series shows we do every year, in recent years, we’ve been doing one night only concert readings of some of our past hits. Pistols for Two was originally done in 2000. In fact, it won the Jeff Citation for Best New Adaptation that year. It is an adaptation of 3 different Heyer short stories that culminates in the protagonists from each story helping to solve a different protagonists story. A charming evening of regency theatre, I actually got to play a romantic lead who was not a terrible person in this, so it’s obvious why we could only do this for one night. Using only a handful of actors, we performed this reading with the three real life couples in the company, Jenifer Tyler and Peter Greenberg, Elise and Robert Kauzlaric, and Katie and Myself. I performed it a week after Killer Angels closed, and the day before my next round of rehearsals began. #retrospective #2013 #lifelinetheatre #georgetteheyer #readingseries #christinacalvit #dorothymilne #regencyromance (at Lifeline Theatre) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8JSpljJesX/?igshid=r91gt2c3u7m6
