La Calypso, c’est pas juste une maison d'hôtes gay friendly, c’est un voyage dans le temps. Entre ses fresques murales de 1960 qui donnent des airs de galerie bohème, sa salle d’eau en mosaïque suspendue au-dessus du golfe d’Hyères (oui oui, suspendue !), ses détails vintage qui me font fondre et ses voûtes cintrées typiques du coin … j’ai craqué. 🖼️

À peine à 5 minutes du village et de la mer, je peux t’assurer que tu ne manqueras ni d’animation ni de tranquillité. 🌊 Le jour, c’est bronzette sous les pins, lecture à l’ombre ou plongeon dans l’eau turquoise. 🍷 Le soir, c’est toi, moi, un verre à la main et un coucher de soleil qui ferait pâlir Instagram.

Colors That Run Highlights 73 (Finale)

The group made their way to the Draconian palace, and when stopped by the guards, Beldyr stepped forward and said they had business with the princess. The guards, recognizing Beldyr to be a high-ranking soldier, allowed the group to go inside. They approached the doors to the throne room, and Calypso took up her role as Professional Door Knocker, but no one answered. Multiple people then attempted to open the door themselves, but the huge, heavy doors didn't budge until Fea pulled on them. Apparently these were pull doors, not push doors. Oops.

The scene awaiting the Breakfast Club in the throne room was unsettling. Ana was collapsed to the floor, and her body appeared to be fighting against her, as though she were struggling to hold back from morphing into her dragon form. Two guards eyed her warily from the back of the room, and a woman dressed in armor and regal cloth was standing over Ana, attempting to aid her magically. But her efforts were in vain, and in fact upon contact with Ana's skin, the woman was pushed back, hands steaming. Calypso recognized her from somewhere...

Ana ripped off her bracelet and tossed it away, releasing the four marbles containing the essences of Cordias's Champions. They scattered onto the floor, though they did not shatter. Ana then screamed in agony and burst into draconic form, her golden scales disintegrating and being replaced with chromatic scales (and heads) of red, blue, black, white, green, and brown. The guards now began to struggle as well, and they, too, were forcibly reverted to dragon form. Ana would have to be stopped. As a wise skeleton said: LLLLLLLLLLETS FUCKING GO

Valor moved first, flying over on Sven and managing to pick up not one, but two of the Champion orbs. She buffed herself up with Guardian of Nature and fired some arrows at the body of the transformed Ana (Tiamat? Ana-mat?). The guards, now silver dragons, moved up, clearly concerned with those orbs. One simply stood protectively over one of them, but the other guard engaged with Valor and Sven. Then Ana charged forward and used her Frightful Presence to scare the shit out of nearly the entire group. Valor was already taking it tough. Slim whipped out his parental "Now just what the hell do you think you're doin', young lady?" and dealt some damage to Ana in response.

After Slim took some very nice shots at Ana-mat, Fea and Calypso mobilized. Fea skirted around Ana's range of attack and grabbed another Champion orb, while Calypso moved to a more central location to cast Bless on herself, Fea, and Valor. Calypso then turned her attention to the alleged Duong woman, saying that they wanted to help Ana too, so she should team up with them, not fight against them. Luckily, the regal-looking lady was on the same page and didn't need convincing. She told the group to avoid harming the brown dragon head, and then allowed her Aura of Courage to embolden the Breakfast Club, removing their fear of Ana. Then she proceeded to whoop ass with her Big Fuckass Sword.

With Hao unleashing on the white dragon head, Fea's next volley of attacks defeated it. When this dragon was slain, a burst of light and energy shot out from the severed neck and rushed for Valor. Valor was entirely unable to avoid this, and became paralyzed as she became the momentary vessel for the magic Ana had stored within herself. Calypso bombed down on the red dragon head, and similarly, when that head was slain, its energy shot into Calypso, leaving her unable to do anything. At least her Bless was still up.

Another one of the heads blasted Fea and Kattie with its breath weapon for a lovely 16d10 damage. Kattie then cast Wish(!) and thus wished that the four Champions were freed from their orbs and were ready to go. The marbles exploded and released Knutt, Rae, Ethi, and Billie, revealing them to be wearing travel clothes... and also, they appeared to be dead. But at least they were... ready to go..... traveling........

Hao continued dealing piles of damage with Divine Smite, and Sven battled the silver dragon guards in the absence of Valor. Slim then stepped forward and summoned all of his strength, mortal or otherwise, and called forth the Devil's Herd. The stampede of bulls charged into Ana-mat, surging through the palace as a brand new path was burned through Erutan-- Slim created a whole route for the Devil's Herd. Invigorated by this display, Fea unleashed a veritable barrage of strikes with her Chaosbane sword, and as Hao followed suit, the remaining dragon heads were slain, paralyzing the other members of the Breakfast Club in turn.

Once it was just Hao and Ana remaining, the battle concluded. Ana managed to recall her humanoid form, and together she and Hao revived the still recently deceased Champions. Kattie had a slight crisis over the fact that her spell technically killed the Champions and Slim tried to reassure her (she still apologized for it though). Calypso healed her exhausted girlfriend and gave the neckerchief she took from Billie's shop to them, as had been the plan all along. Kattie let it slip that Gabriel had been dead for a while, but Calypso quickly added that he was just fine now. Billie was relieved, but Knutt seemed determined to head off for Celestia immediately to check on him. Billie was just happy to have all her fellow Champions with her again. Calypso made sure to tell her to let Teacup talk more. Before everyone started to exit the palace, Slim was going around hugging each of his girls, rather emotionally.

~ EPILOGUES ~

Slim, having burned a new route for the Devil's Herd, now knew he was an earthly incarnation of Jediah, and he only had a short time before he would be consumed by divine power and leave the mortal world. He returned to Norsom and wrote a letter for his son, to leave Lorenzo with some guidance and love in his mama's absence. Teresa was left with a journal of advice and people to go to when she needed help, and Slim told her to pray to Jediah so that he could hear her speak to him for years to come. Slim wrote a letter for the Breakfast Club as well (in the event he couldn't meet up with them before he left). Finally, Slim embraced his children and his partner, Casvir, as he dissipated into particles of light and ascended to the sky.

Valor returned to Celestia, followed by Beldyr and Luna, who helped Valor as she finally had time to sit and come to terms with the line of losses she'd accrued: her parents, her brother, and her mentor. Eventually Valor, encouraged by Fea, took up leadership of the new Dragon Division of the Celestial military when necessary. Valor took up the reigns of Honor's banking empire, making adjustments to better favor her clients and gave special perks to her party members. Valor used some of her profits to fund a dragon nursery in Dusk City and a sanctuary in Celestia. She also paid reparations to Erutan, and requested permission to research dragon territories there. Ana granted this, and Valor (along with Beldyr and Luna) explored the mountains and did find her mentor, Sven. Valor found a number of abandoned dragon eggs in Erutan and brought them to the nursery as well. Valor eventually settled to live in Gilsa, becoming something of an Icon(TM) and helping to revitalize the dragon population. Upon her passing, Pelial granted her soul reincarnation for her good deeds, and Beldyr would find her over the course of her subsequent lives.

Calypso initially followed Fea during the immediately aftermath of the Erutan situation, but eventually made her way to Acheron once again to see Andraya. At the monastery she saw that Andraya had taken over leadership, as Elder Walter had died (ayyy). Conditions improved under the new leadership and her more relaxed approach to the raising of young monks, and Andraya was considering having more branches of the monastery opening elsewhere in Cordias. Calypso finally managed to best her teacher in a sparring match, but didn't let her hit her the floor, out of respect., and afterward Calypso visited the monastery to help keep the kids there humble and/or entertained. Calypso, along with her girl, heeded the calls to action occasionally sounded by Thedda and Knutt, but otherwise found fun and trouble throughout the continents. She (begrudgingly) joined the occasional dinner at Billie's with Gabriel and Knutt, and grew to tolerate (or even appreciate) the Infernal Champion's company. Calypso assisted with the development of Dusk City, eventually helping to establish a monastery (and a dog shelter!) there. Like Valor, Calypso was granted reincarnation, so things were never too dull in Cordias. >:)

Fea followed Knutt to Celestia (despite their griping) and returned the Champion to the eagerly awaiting angels who had missed them. There was then a meeting about the future of Celestia, where it was noted that Fea, being Semyaza, had the birthright to the throne over Gabriel. They decided to keep this little secret and reserved Fea for second-in-command, to better prepare for an uprising and give Fea time to learn how to govern gradually rather than rush into anything. She assisted Gabriel in his decisions, especially with regards to Celestia's relations with Calamity and Acheron, and she was also encouraged to spar with Knutt. Eventually Fea found her partner from the first Realm War, reduced to a wandering penitent undead. Fea took her to the School of Norde to be restored, and upon waking, the original Feality Rubrum had only foggy memories of her past, which cleared a bit over time. She later joined the castle guard and settled into her new life. Fea had earned the honor of reincarnation from Pelial, and thus kept a watchful eye on her ridiculous tiefling.

Kattie stayed behind in Erutan at first to help make sure Ana recovered from her ordeal, then later returned to Dusk City to reunite with Eve. Kattie helps to get the city Up and Running, establishing a port, entertainment, and tourist attractions. She planted the seeds for a sort of steampunk movement by funding the first balloon craft, and makes herself a friend to the community of fairies in the nearby Whismal Woods. Kattie continued to make money moves, expanding Teagan's business with him and pushing for teleportation circles in all major cities in Cordias. With her exciting and innovative ideas, Kattie introduced rock music to the world, shredding her sick riffs across the world and going on tour. With the blessing of reincarnation, the legendary Queen of Commerce would live on and on.

In the fall, Ana journeyed to the Cordian Council, along with her parents and Hao Duong, seeking acknowledgement for Erutan. The other realms admitted their mistakes, hesitantly. Gabriel offered reparations in the form of medical courses via the School of Norde to Erutan. Queen Titania offered fairy-deployed wards to protect Erutan's people and land, particularly from the roaming dinosaurs. The council of Harmonce offered to help restore the natural landscape of Erutan to what it was before the conflict with the Abyss. Oremol offered safe passage into the mountains of Calamity along with a portion of money earned from the continent's gem mining and jewelry industries. Asmodeus agreed (begrudgingly) to send artificers from Acheron to help Erutan acclimate to modern technologies.

Additionally, however, Ana and her dragons insisted on some form of punishment for the realm leaders. The leaders conceded to this, not interested in starting a new conflict with a dragon nation. Each of the leaders were sentenced for two months out of each year to be held in a pocket dimension. This would last for 500 years, half of Ana's time spent effectively erased from history, and the contract was signed. Finally, peace had returned to the lands.

And thus ends the story of Cordias... what a good time we had.
