Ask game: Spying on a Spy 👀
Ok so I found a fanfic that was a cross-over but it was abandoned after only one chapter which is why i just HAD to write one although I didn't expect it to end up also being my season 7 re-write with 3 different works in a series! For Spying on a Spy, I didn't know what I wanted other than:
-Management trying to recruit John using Michael
-Michael and John to fight at first when they meet
-Michael to enjoy knee-capping people like John does lmaoo
-For Fusco to make a joke about there being 2 of them now
-and of course for Michael to be attracted to John
The rest of the plot just came together when I sat down to write it!
Now you didn't ask, but I'm going to continue for Part 2: Believe in the Machine and Part 3: The End Begins
Part 2
-The Machine using Nate to get the girls close to Michael
-Sam believing in the Machine first. Michael being really obstinate and refusing b/c it doesn't fit into his view of the world (AI is really far out)
-Fi and Michael comparing themselves to Shaw and Root
-Root doing her normal two guns at the same time
-Root warning Michael about Anson
Part 3
-Having Michael have God Mode Access to the Machine and how scary he'd be with that power (but in a good way). Like even Sam calls it Creepy
-Killing Larry (but it was only while writing that I decided it would be Jesse)
-Shaw and Root helping with Tom since they're strangers to him
-What if Michael told Dani instead of lying? But only b/c he was forced to
-WHUMP. I wanted Tom to kidnap and hurt Michael. Honestly the only way to make Tom hurt Michael more personally than he already has in canon
-I knew I wanted the Machine to basically help Michael blackmail the CIA so he wouldn't have to make that shitty deal with Strong

Ch. 7 Competition Training Day
Disclaimer: This is a work of fan fiction using characters from the Top Gun: Maverick world, trademarked by Paramount Pictures Corporation. I do not claim ownership of the characters and the world that I am borrowing.
The story and situation I am creating are a work of my imagination and I do not ascribe them to official story canon. This work is for entertainment only and is not a part of the storyline.
I am not profiting financially from the creation and publication of this story, but I do hope it gives you happy thoughts.
These stories are my own, so please do not take them and use them for yourself without my permission. If you see them somewhere else, please let me know. :)
You woke up the next morning and headed to the San Diego Lifeguard headquarters.
"Good morning," Lieutenant Jaason Anson said when you reached the building. "You're looking a little tired this morning."
You looked at him. Jaason stood about six feet with the typical surfer blonde hair and blue eyes, that were currently hidden behind a reflective pair of aviator glasses.
"Long weekend," you respond.
"When aren't you busy?" he asks as the two of you walk in to the building.
You had met Jason during swim practice last semester and he was the one who convinced you to apply as a lifeguard.
"Between you and Finley, I don't know who says that the most."
He had tried asking you out a few times, but you politely declined and the two of you became good friends. Then when he told you about the lifeguard competition, because he knew you would get the lifeguard job, he started helping you train for it.
You stop in front of the women's locker room and look at Jason.
He smiles. "It's going to be a great training day. I can feel it!" He yells.
You roll your eyes, open the door to the locker room and go in.
Fifteen minutes later, you walk outside in a black TYR one piece swimsuit and a black swim cap in your hand.
Jason was already outside holding a red rescue can and he looks at you from behind his aviators. "You ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be." You answer as the two of you walk to the first lifeguard tower.
"Let's start with a slow jog down the beach. Nothing too hard. I think, no, I know you've got this. Just like I knew you'd get this job. You're a smart girl, Y/N. Shit. You have to be with your jobs."
You smile. "True."
You reached the lifeguard tower and Jason placed the rescue can on the deck. He then proceeded to take off his t-shirt, revealing his well built chest and abs, and placed that on the deck.
"You ready?"
"Yup. Let's do this."
The two of you started a slow jog down the beach.
Jake stepped out of his red Ford F-150 that he parked in the beach parking lot and looked at his watch. It was nine o'clock. He didn't want to make it seem like he was stalking you.
He was wearing black board shorts, a Navy workout tank, black sandals and a pair of Ray bans. He leisurely walked up towards the beach when he saw Y/N run out of the water and past a blonde lifeguard in red trunks and a white lifeguard tank.
The blond yelled something and he saw Y/N get so excited that she jumped into his arms and they hugged excitedly.
Jake slowly walked closer.
"Y/N! You're going to break a new record if you do this!" Jaason exclaimed. "I knew you could do it!!"
Jaason looked into your eyes and you stepped away. Out of the corner of your eye, you swear you saw Jake. You turned your head. It was Jake.
"Jake?" you question yourself and Jaason looks at you, confused.
"Jake?" he asks as you start walking towards Jake, but still standing there.
"Jake? What are you doing here?" You ask when you get near him. You feel Jaason right behind you.
"Finley said you'd be here. Why didn't you just say something? I would've understood."
You sigh. "I think it's time we talked."
"Y/N. You okay?" Jaason asks.
You turn around and look at Jaason. "Give me fifteen minutes."
"Sure. I'll be at the tower," he says and walks away.
"Come on. Let's walk."
The two of you start to leisurely walk down the beach.
"My life is hectic and complicated," you start to say. "My parents died right before I graduated high school. They left me enough to pay for college and I lucked out that my dad was a veteran, so that helped me pay for college. Along with a few grants. I'd always known I wanted to be an aquatic vet, and I worked hard to get here. I was a lifeguard and rescue diver back home and that also helped to pay for me to get here, but during that time, I met a guy." You paused a second. "I should've known, but he said all the right things, but then the right things started to become wrong. I figured out he was abusing me mentally at first and then the physical started. He was rich. His parents had money. He told me I needed to stop what I was doing and just become a trophy wife. I didn't want that, so I left one night and headed here." You paused again. "The message I got yesterday was from him. He'd found me. He probably hired a private investigator." You stopped and looked at him. "You don't want to get involved with me."
Jake stepped closer and cupped a hand on the side of your face. "Y/N. You are the most intriguing person I've ever met. Also the first to make me feel like I'd lost my dating game."
You chortle.
"I think I'll make that decision," he said as he pulled you close and his mouth was on yours. Sweet and caring. He had a calming smell of beer and leather, but you sensed a side of toughness and cockiness.
When you parted he looked at you, his green eyes caring. "I've been wanting to do that since yesterday at your truck."
You grin.
"HELP!!" You hear someone yell and you quickly look out at the water.
"HELP!!" You hear again and then you see a person pointing towards the water and then see Jaason running towards you with a rescue can.
"Let's go! I called it in!" he says as you grab the rescue can and leave Jake standing there as you run towards the water.
You and Jaason run into the water, leap into the waves, and towards the area you saw the person pointing at. When you get there, you look at Jaason.
"She's gone under. I got this." You take a deep breath and dive.
The water here was probably about ten feet deep. Thankfully the current wasn't too bad today and the water was pretty clear.
You spotted the girl slowly sinking to the bottom and quickly swam to her. You grabbed her under the arms and started swimming back up to Jaason's feet. When you broke the surface, you looked at him.
"She's out. Let's go."
The two of you started swimming towards the beach and as soon as you hit the sand, you laid the girl on her back.
The rescue team was on it's way.
You check her vitals. "No pulse and no breathing. Starting CPR," you say and give the girl two breaths and then start chest compressions.
The rescue squad arrived and a male guard ran up to you with an AED machine. You check for a pulse again.
"Still no pulse," you say as the guard starts taking out the pieces on the machine.
"Stand back," the male guard said as he pushed start on the AED machine.
"My baby!" a female voice yelled and you saw Jaason get up and head towards the voice.
You started concentrating on the AED machines directions. You gave the girl another two breaths of air and the machine shocked the girl.
All of a sudden, the girl spit out water and started coughing.
"Pulse detected," the machine said.
"Mommy!" the young girl said.
"I'm right here, Amelia." A woman's voice responded.
"I got this, Y/N," the male from the rescue squad said.
"Thanks, Vince." You get up and walk over to Jake. "I've got to do the report and then I'm done for the day. You can leave if you want."
"I'm staying right here," he responds.
You shrug. "Suit yourself. Let me finish this up and I'll be right back."
"Take your time. This is your job."
You smile and head back to the scene.
Jake had waited patiently outside after the near drowning and also after you wrote your report in the building. You walked out of the building back in regular clothes with Jaason next to you and he points to Jake when you get outside.
"So, are you going to introduce me to your friend?" Jaason asks.
"Jaason, this is Jake. Jake this is Jaason," you say to the both of them.
The two of them shake hands and Jaason looks at you again.
"And how are you two related?"
"I'm Y/N's boyfriend," Jake responds quickly.
Jaason raises and eyebrow. "Boyfriend? I didn't think..."
"It's a long story, Jaason," you respond.
"Well, you'll have to tell me about it sometime. Other than that, I think you're good with the competition next weekend." He looks at Jake. "Will you be there?"
Jake smiles. "Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Well, it was nice meeting you." He looks at you. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yup."
Jaason walks off and you turn to Jake. "Girlfriend?"
"What Hangman wants, Hangman gets," he responds with a sexy grin and you laugh.

Climate and Sustainability Initiative: A GLOBAL Mission
The Cllimate and Sustainability Initiative (CSI GLOBAL) stands as a beacon of hope and action in an era of escalating environmental challenges. This initiative unites governments, organizations, and communities to address pressing climate change and environmental sustainability issues. Through a comprehensive approach, CSI GLOBAL tackles the root causes of environmental degradation, paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future.
The Urgency of Action
Climate change is an immediate threat. Rising global temperatures, melting ice caps, and extreme weather events are reshaping our world, impacting ecosystems, biodiversity, and human lives. In response, CSI GLOBAL focuses on implementing immediate and effective strategies to combat these challenges. By leveraging advanced technology, innovative practices, and global collaboration, CSI GLOBAL aims to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change while fostering sustainable development.
Goals of CSI GLOBAL
At its core, CSI GLOBAL is guided by three primary goals:
Reducing Carbon Emissions: CSI GLOBAL works to lower greenhouse gas emissions by promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency, and low-carbon technologies. Initiatives include supporting solar and wind energy projects, enhancing energy storage capabilities, and transitioning industries to cleaner alternatives.
Promoting Circular Economies: Sustainability is at the heart of CSI GLOBAL. It champions the adoption of circular economic models that minimize waste and maximize resource efficiency. By encouraging recycling, upcycling, and sustainable production methods, the initiative helps reduce environmental footprints across industries.
Enhancing Climate Resilience: With a focus on vulnerable communities, CSI GLOBAL develops strategies to adapt to climate impacts. Projects include building flood-resistant infrastructure, improving water management systems, and creating early warning mechanisms for natural disasters.
CSI GLOBAL in Action
A hallmark of CSI GLOBAL is its ability to foster collaboration across borders. The initiative partners with international organizations, private enterprises, and local communities to drive impactful projects. For example, CSI GLOBAL’s renewable energy programs have empowered rural areas by providing access to clean energy while reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Similarly, urban sustainability projects have transformed cities into greener spaces through smart transportation systems and eco-friendly urban planning.
Another notable aspect of CSI GLOBAL is its emphasis on education and awareness. The initiative conducts workshops, campaigns, and training sessions to inspire individuals and organizations to adopt sustainable practices. By empowering people with knowledge, CSI GLOBAL ensures that sustainability becomes a shared responsibility.
A Call for Collective Responsibility
The success of CSI GLOBAL lies in its inclusive approach. It recognizes that addressing climate change requires a collective effort from all sectors of society. Governments must implement policies that support green innovation, businesses should prioritize sustainability in their operations, and individuals must embrace eco-conscious lifestyles.
As we face an uncertain future, CSI GLOBAL serves as a reminder that hope and action can coexist. By uniting global efforts and promoting sustainable solutions, the Climate and Sustainability Initiative paves the way for a healthier planet and a brighter tomorrow. Let us join hands with CSI GLOBAL to make a lasting impact on our environment and ensure a sustainable legacy for generations to come.

The iNews News Agency reports that one of the most wanted Taliban hit men has been captured by two La Brea Police Department police officers. You might think the Taliban is a throwback from the 2000s but it still has some tail-end SEO activity. Kitty Segovia, senior writer for iNews stated that the notorious Shank Yeen Quo was arrested as he was eating one of the famous Gold Rush Cheeseburgers that the La Brea Tar Pit Diner is noted for. Quo was wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers cap, a Los Angeles Lakers jersey, and Anson Mount Brand Cowboys Boots. Some say he may have just been a dude with a beard from Glendale, but the police are sticking to their guns. But that may have been down to the donuts. The LBPD law enforcement officers said that Quo did not give them any resistance since they have been instructed to immediately tase the shit out of any terrorist that they came upon. ■ https://lighthousenewsnetwork.com/an-infamous-taliban-hit-man-captured-as-he-was-eating-a-cheeseburger-at-the-la-bea-tar-pits-diner/?feed_id=9106&_unique_id=67420522b4f0e

A comedy club, now I’d love to hear the repertoire of jokes from that group. What a great way to spend time with friends!

Oh, the stories they could tell! I don't know if they actually had time to talk at the club, but wouldn't it be fun if Jared guested on Rhys' podcast, The Cryptid Factor? There are some Supernatural-esque topics he covers on that and I'm sure they'd have a lot to talk about!

Ch. 13: Competition Day
Disclaimer: This is a work of fan fiction using characters from the Top Gun: Maverick world, trademarked by Paramount Pictures Corporation. I do not claim ownership of the characters and the world that I am borrowing.

The week had gone really well and it seemed like the thoughts of Gavin and Finley seemed behind you.
As you walked out of the women's locker room now in a dark blue swim and tucking your hair into your matching dark blue swim cap, Jaason stood outside the locker room door waiting for you and the two of you walked outside.
The sun was shining brightly as you stepped outside, the warmth embracing your skin. The beach was bustling with activity as other lifeguards prepared for the day's competition. Jaason walked beside you, exuding confidence and determination.
"You've got this, Y/N. Just do what we practiced," Jaason reassured, his voice filled with confidence. As Jake approached, you adjusted your goggles on your head.
"Hey, babe," Jake greeted when he reached you, then gave a nod in Jaason's direction. "Jaason. Nice to see you again."
"You too," Jaason replied with a friendly smile.
You swung your your arms to warm them up.
"Guards! Get to your places!" the MC yelled through the megaphone.
"That's me," you replied and looked at Jaason and then Jake.
"You've got this babe. Go get'em," Jake reassured and you headed to the area.
Jake looked at Jaason.
"How has she been doing?" Jaason asked.
"As far as I can tell, good."
"Nothing from Finley?"
Jake shook his head no. "Nope."
You had finished up the last race and walked over towards Jaason and Jake.
"I think you did it," Jaason said. "You came in first a lot."
"Ladies and gentlemen! We have a new record in the run-swim-run competition! Congratulations Y/N Holloway!" the announcer cheered.
"I knew it!" Jaason exclaimed, and the two of you shared a celebratory hug.
"Y/N! That's amazing!" Jake cheered, joining in for a hug.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Captain Ed Markham walking towards you and you gently nudged Jaason and nodded in the direction.
"Captain Markham," Jaason said.
"Lieutenant Anson," he acknowledges Jaason but looks at you. "Y/N. Congratulations."
You smile. "Thank you, sir."
"We'll have to have a celebration party, but I have this for you." He holds out a piece of paper and you take it. "You're being requested as a lifeguard for a yacht party this evening."
You take the paper, open it and read it.
"You don't have to take it. I'm sure we could find someone else, but they are adamant that it be you."
A puzzled look shows on your face and then shock as you read how much they are willing to pay and you look at Captain Markham. "Seriously?"
He shrugs. "Yup. Even I was surprised."
You look at Jake. "I apologize. Captain Markham, this is my boyfriend, Jake Seresin."
They shake hands.
"It's nice to meet you. You've got a very talented girlfriend."
Jake smiles. "Don't I know it."
"Well, let me know if you decide to do this. It's tonight."
"I will, sir."
"I'll talk to you later," Markham says and walks away.
"Jake. They want to pay me $5,000 just to lifeguard their party tonight."
Jasson's eyes got wide. "Holy shit! That's a lot! If you don't take it, I will."
Jake looks at you. "It's up to you."

Parramatta by Night - Thursday Night VtES
Game 2: Big Wizards > Masika & Friends > Brunhilde & the Valkyries > V5 Nosferatu Starter Bash
Nosferatu get the first minion, a little cheap 3 cap, who bleeds while the Big Wizards work on a Big Wizard. A Valkyrie appears and cools her heels to see what happens.
The Nosferatu gain a friend, and keep the little bleeds going. Soon everyone has a bigger minion, while the Nosferatu just have more.
Things start getting risky for Brunhilde as Masika has slammed for 12 pool in 3 turns without the Gangrel able to prevent it, or retaliate.
The Nosferatu get into a few little skirmishes with the Big Wizards but mostly nibble rather than attack.
Brunhilde lands a 6-bleed on the Nosferatu, and that shifts the game as Masika could oust the Gangrel any time soon, and another bleed of that size would basically oust the Nosferatu, so the Nosferatu play aggressively quickly getting to 3 Creeping Sabotages. The Big Wizards have some struggles against both the Nosferatu who regain blood in combats against the Wizards and Masika who seems to interfere in everything.
Eventually the cracks open in the Big Wizards and the Nosferatu lunge hard with 3 Creeping Sabotages, and 3 Deep Song bleeds for a total of 10 pool damage for the kill. With a bit more buffer the Nosferatu cool a little and wait, defending their Creeping Sabotages from Masika & Anson after Masika ousts the Gangrels.
A gap appears in Masika’s defences and the Nosferatu drive home 5 bleed in two actions plus the 2 from Creeping Sabotage to get Masika to 2 pool. Then Masika goes looking for cards, instead of bloating more pool, and that move costs Masika the game because they now have no way to be sure the 2 Creeping Sabotages won’t kill them in the Nosferatu turn.
Nosferatu 3+GW, Masika 1.

Buck Ewing was the first catcher to ever be inducted to the baseball hall of fame. Ewing was an early baseball star playing in the 1880s and 1890s for a few teams, most notably the New York Gothams, today known as the San Francisco Giants.

Ewing was an excellent catcher when it came to keeping base runners in check, and he himself stole over 350 bases, which as a catcher, would rank 1st, but he played every other position so often as well that he does not officially qualify.
Buck's time with the Gothams is speculated to have ended because of his leaving the National League for the new Players League in 1890 (which was a short lived League following in the footsteps of the 1884 Union Association which looked to abolish the reserve clause.) Because Ewing left for the New York team in the Players League and the league failed, Ewing was only let back on the Gothams (now renamed to the Giants) for a single year before being moved.
After a few more years with the Cleveland Spiders and Cincinnati Reds, Ewing retired as a player and continued the next few years as a manager.
Few catchers of the time could come close to Ewing's all around ability. Other contemporaries like King Kelly played other positions more commonly than catcher, and his closest peer in the conversation, Roger Bresnahan, only began playing in 1897, and was a star in the early 20th century.
Ewing would pass away at age 47 from diabetes in 1906 and posthumously be inducted to the fall of fame in 1939. He was one of the first 1800s players to recieve votes (along with Cap Anson) and among the first to be inducted.

Today we are heading home and will get back all those hours we lost when we came. I have been taking note of many of the things that are fascinating about Japan and South Korea that have nothing to do with history or geography but everything to do with culture. I wish our American culture would adopt a few of them - no MOST of them.
Both countries are clean and I mean CLEAN!! At first I was determined to find some litter or even a cigarette butt on the street - but forget it. First, cigarettes: Smoking is not allowed on the street and it is true that we saw no one just walking down the street smoking. We saw glass structures - like a bus stop - but closed - where people were smoking in Seoul but I have not seen anything like that in all of Japan. Yesterday as we talked to the restaurant I smelled smoke for the first time since we arrived and there sitting in his car with the windows rolled up sat a smoker. Every big city we have ever visited is always littered with cigarette butts - because too many smokers think the world is an ashtray. GROSS!!!
Clean streets: There just isn't litter on the sidewalks or streets and should their be something - like something dropped from the pocket of the person in front of you - it is immediately picked up. IMMEDIATELY. No one would consider stepping of a piece of litter and I saw a couple people with small plastic bags in their pocket that they used to deposit what they had picked up. THINK ABOUT THAT!?!? NO LITTER!! COULD WE PLEASE ADOPT THIS!?!?!?
Trash: There are no public trashcans on the streets. At a place where people are eating there are clearly defined trash/recycle receptacles. The bin for the plastic bottles says "please remove cap and label" and I sat and watched family after family do exactly as directed. There is such respect for the area around you here.

The ying and yang - if you will.
Bathrooms: The bathrooms are AMAZING!!! For example part of the mirror does not steam up - no matter how hot your shower. Below is a full wall of mirror right after a shower. Steam is everywhere BUT not on the a certain spot.

And the toilets.. Ah, the toilets. First, the seats are heated - regulate as you wish. Then there are number settings. Bidet? Or more? Wash, rinse and dry? I confess that I prefer to have the controls on the wall instead of by the seat - but either will work.

Also, before we left for the airport, I mourned my last toilet pampering completely forgetting that we would still be in Japan at the next two airports. YAY!!! I have at least one more "experience" in me. And did I mention that you can also turn on "sounds" - like a river running or a waterfall - to make sure that your "noises" are not heard by others. Lastly, it would never to OK to just plop your toddler down in a public restroom - so there are designated stalls for people with toddlers.

They contain seats for sitting safely or...

...seats for training. Also there are directions on how to sanitize the toilet seat for the next person. CLEAN - I tell you CLEAN!

COULD WE PLEASE ADOPT THIS!?!?!?
Shoes: Shoes are NEVER worn in the house, in a shrine, in a temple and even in some restaurants. NEVER!! We were provided slippers in every hotel and in some hotels you were given slippers to wear in the room, slippers to wear in the hallway of the hotel AND slippers to wear in the toilet room. Now - my feet fit these slippers that do not that a right or left designation - but Mark and Anson have much rounder feet and they could not even get their 3 toes in the slipper - so it was socks for them. Think about how clean everything stays if you have indoor shoes and outdoor shoes. Mark even had the tip of his cane cleaned at one shrine. COULD WE PLEASE ADOPT THIS!?!?!?

Food: I was quite sure that the buffet would die and stay dead due to Covid - but that is not the case and we had a breakfast buffet everyday we were here. But everything had its special serving utensil and a special place to return it to after serving yourself. And people did exactly that. I appreciated that - but I still think buffets should die.
Food presentation: Always art! But my favorite was from the last hotel in Hiroshima - for donuts.

Too cute! Wait - I know the Japanese word for "cute" "Kawaii!" I never saw a bagel while I was here (or butter or cream cheese - or any cheese but American cheese, come to think of it.) but I would so serve bagels like that too. COULD WE PLEASE ADOPT THIS!?!?!?
Your Elders: Everyone who knows me knows that I believe we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us - but respect of your ancestors is a way of life here. In Korea they celebrate the lives of 4 generations above them - each on the anniversary of that person's death. It is a day of feasting and welcoming the spirit of the departed back into the family they made. In Japan they celebrated their ancestors on August 15 and it is a big day throughout the nation and they also welcome the spirits back. Time to meet the new generation, so to speak. No one is too busy to do this. Now that I am close to the top of the chain - so to speak - I like this idea more and more every year. When we went to Vietnam, families had a shrine in each home dedicated to parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Mark and I thought this would be a great gift for our kids - but they didn't look too excited when we brought it up. In Peru, the families had a niche in their homes where the skull of the parents or grandparents resided - and we thought that might be too much - a day of remembrance - like the Mexican Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) sounds like a great plan to me! COULD WE PLEASE ADOPT THIS!?!?!?
Manners: The Korean and Japanese people are so polite and quiet. They discipline their children in whispers and children are very quiet in public transportation - as oppose to Americans who talk loudly no matter where we are. The bow to each other, insist that you go first, are quick to pick up something you have dropped, and, and, and... I really think we could use a little bit of this. COULD WE PLEASE ADOPT THIS!?!?!?
We have learned so many things during this trip and that was really because of our experienced trip leaders who opened our eyes, minds and hearts. So thank you so much to Yong Park,

and Kenje- san Marukami. You are amazing teachers.

I may think of something else - but if not - this trip is in the books. I am posting this back in the states and I have already been to the restroom in LAX. DISGUSTING!!!
Next week I'm heading the Washington DC with Sagan and Katelyn for their very much overdue DC trip with Damma.
Follow us if you wish.
